Ooencyrtus nezarae (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) is an egg parasitoid of bean bug Riptortus pedestris (Hemiptera: Alydidae) which is a major pest of beans. Females of O. nezarae are attracted to (E)‐2‐hexenyl (Z)‐3‐hexenoate (EZ), one of the components of aggregation pheromone of Rpedestris. Effects of three isomers (ZE, EE and ZZ) of EZ on the attractiveness of O. nezarae were tested using electroantennography (EAG) and field bioassays. EAG analyses revealed that the response of O. nezarae to ZE was significantly higher than those to air, hexane and two other isomers, even though the response was lower than that to EZ. ZE affected the attractiveness of EZ dose‐dependently in the field. Addition of ZE (100 mg) to EZ (10 mg) caused a significant reduction in the catches of O. nezarae females. Single or binary addition of two other isomers (EE and ZZ) to EZ could not decrease or increase significantly the number of O. nezarae catches of EZ. Even though addition of ZZ (10, 50 or 100 mg) to EZ (10 mg) caused dose‐dependent reduction in the number of O. nezarae female catches, the reductions were not significantly different from that of EZ. EZ and its three isomers were not attractive to O. nezarae males at all.  相似文献

Abstract: Generally, lycophytes are not well represented in Anisian floras. Nonetheless, four different genera, each with one species, have been distinguished in the Anisian flora from Kühwiesenkopf (Monte Prà della Vacca), Italy. They were well preserved and yielded leaf cuticles in all four taxa and in situ spores in two of them. Lycopia dezanchei gen. et sp. nov. is the most common form; it is characterized by a dichotomising creeping prostrate rhizome (representing the primary shoot axis) from which arise aerial axes, apically bifurcated and covered with bundles of long leaves. This taxon cannot be attributed to any of the lycophyte orders, but most resembles Lycopodiales. Two representatives of the Isoetales have been found, of which Isoetites brandneri sp. nov. is abundant. This species is characterized by a short stem, which is unusual for this genus. In situ immature microspores and megaspores were found in some specimens. Lepacyclotes bechstaedtii sp. nov. has a quadrilobe corm with fertile scales inserted in whorls or slightly helicoidally. Short sterile leaves arise distally from the corm in some specimens. Selaginellales are very rare in the flora; Selaginellites leonardii sp. nov. is represented by a strobilus that yielded both micro‐ and megaspores. Some sterile fragments have been found associated, but never in organic connection.  相似文献

Abstract: A rich and diverse coral fauna collected from the Livian (Viséan, Mississippian) of Zonguldak and Bart?n (North‐western Turkey) contains numerous specimens of Dorlodotia and related forms. The most common species, D. delepinei Charles, 1933 , is redetermined as Dorlodotia briarti, an European species. A new species of Dorlodotia is described for very large, phaceloid forms: D. euxinensis. The genus Ceriodotia is created for species close to Dorlodotia with a cerioid habit. It comprises two species: C. bartinensis and C. petalaxoides, both common in the Viséan of Zonguldak and Bart?n. Based on comparison of morphological characters and features of the astogeny, a phylogenetic lineage is proposed for Dorlodotia and the new taxa. The evolution of D. euxinensis from D. briarti is peramorphic. Subsequent paedomorphosis resulted in the lineage D. euxinensisC. bartinensisC. petalaxoides. Ceriodotia probably includes Viséan taxa from Asia previously described as ‘Acrocyathus’.  相似文献

A structural characterization of bound water molecules in the cyclic tetrasaccharide, cyclo-{-->6}-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->3)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->6)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->3)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->), was carried out by NMR spectroscopy. H-1', 2'-OH, H-3', and 4'-OH of the 3-O-glycosylated residue and H-1 of the 6-O-glycosylated residue were found to cross-relax with protons of bound waters using the double-pulsed field-gradient spin-echo ROESY experiment. In the crystal structure, one water molecule is located in the center of the plate, and its temperature factor is very low, indicating that this water molecule is an intrinsic component.  相似文献

The well-preserved silicified fragment of a utricular envelope assigned to Sycidium aff. clathratum Peck, discovered in the earliest Famennian “incisus bed” of the Bohlen section near Saalfeld in Thuringia (Central Germany), is the first evidence of charophytes present in the West European Late Devonian. The occurrence of 16 longitudinal ridges is shared with the basal Mississippian S. clathratum. The specimen shows delicate structures of the external layer including ovoid elements at its basal end which are interpreted as casts of rudimentary bract cells and/or bracteoles, rarely observed in the fossil record of charophytes. S. aff. clathratum is among the rare Sycidiaceae that survived the terminal Frasnian Kellwasser Event. This single specimen was probably attached to a piece of wood and thereby transported into fully marine basinal environments that characterize the Famennian of the Bohlen section.  相似文献

Based on the study of the ammonite collection assembled by A.S. Sakharov from the Middle Jurassic Armkhi Formation of the Gerchyoch Mountain Pass (northern Ingushetia) and on literature sources, the species composition and stratigraphic position of northern Caucasian Cadoceras are discussed. Early Callovian C. tchegemicum Lominadze, C. tschernyschewi Sokolov, and C. suevicum Callomon et Dietl are identified; the name C. loginovae Lominadze, 2004 is synonymized under C. stupachenkoi Mitta, 1998. The Late Bathonian species are identified as C. sakharovi sp. nov. and C. aff. perrarum Voronetz. The presence of Upper Bathonian sediments is substantiated for the northern Caucasus; the theory of the inversion of the Kepplerites beds is shows to be erroneous.  相似文献

Carbohydrate recognition by proteins is a key event in many biological processes. Concanavalin A is known to specifically recognize the pentasaccharide core (beta-GlcNAc-(1-->2)-alpha- Man-(1-->3)-[beta- GlcNAc-(1-->2)-alpha-Man-(1-->6)]-Man) of N-linked oligosaccharides with a Ka of 1.41 x 10(6 )M-1. We have determined the structure of concanavalin A bound to beta-GlcNAc-(1-->2)-alpha-Man-(1-->3)-[beta- GlcNAc-(1-->2)-alpha-Man- (1-->6)]-Man to 2.7A. In six of eight subunits there is clear density for all five sugar residues and a well ordered binding site. The pentasaccharide adopts the same conformation in all eight subunits. The binding site is a continuous extended cleft on the surface of the protein. Van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonds anchor the carbohydrate to the protein. Both GlcNAc residues contact the protein. The GlcNAc on the 1-->6 arm of the pentasaccharide makes particularly extensive contacts and including two hydrogen bonds. The binding site of the 1-->3 arm GlcNAc is much less extensive. Oligosaccharide recognition by Con A occurs through specific protein carbohydrate interactions and does not require recruitment of adventitious water molecules. The beta-GlcNAc-(1-->2)-Man glycosidic linkage PSI torsion angle on the 1-->6 arm is rotated by over 50 degrees from that observed in solution. This rotation is coupled to disruption of interactions at the monosaccharide site. We suggest destabilization of the monosaccharide site and the conformational strain reduces the free energy liberated by additional interactions at the 1-->6 arm GlcNAc site.   相似文献

A new subspecies, Kailasius autocrator murun Korb, ssp. n., of the species Kailasius autocrator (Avinov, 1913) from the eastern part of the Alai Mountain Ridge is described. This subspecies differs from the other known ones in the smaller size (the fore-wing length is less than 23 mm) and in the presence of 5 black rounded spots in the submarginal area of the hind-wing upper side (4 spots in the nominotypical subspecies and K. a. pshartanus). The new subspecies is shown to be the most archaic one among the subspecies of the genus Kailasius by the wing pattern. Possible ways for the origin of local and small populations of morphologically different subspecies of the genus are discussed.  相似文献

During DNA replication the helicase (DnaB) recruits the primase (DnaG) in the replisome to initiate the polymerization of new DNA strands. DnaB is attached to the τ subunit of the clamp-loader that loads the β clamp and interconnects the core polymerases on the leading and lagging strands. The τ–DnaB−DnaG ternary complex is at the heart of the replisome and its function is likely to be modulated by a complex network of allosteric interactions. Using a stable ternary complex comprising the primase and helicase from Geobacillus stearothermophilus and the τ subunit of the clamp-loader from Bacillus subtilis we show that changes in the DnaB–τ interaction can stimulate allosterically primer synthesis by DnaG in vitro . The A550V τ mutant stimulates the primase activity more efficiently than the native protein. Truncation of the last 18 C-terminal residues of τ elicits a DnaG-stimulatory effect in vitro that appears to be suppressed in the native τ protein. Thus changes in the τ–DnaB interaction allosterically affect primer synthesis. Although these C-terminal residues of τ are not involved directly in the interaction with DnaB, they may act as a functional gateway for regulation of primer synthesis by τ-interacting components of the replisome through the τ–DnaB−DnaG pathway.  相似文献

This study provides a checklist of the Caesalpinioideae (Leguminosae) present in Equatorial Guinea, comprising 52 genera and 124 taxa. Seven species are known from Annobón, 33 from Bioko and 109 from Río Muni. The best represented genus is Senna with eight species. In addition, bibliographic references for Caesalpinioideae (Leguminosae) from Equatorial Guinea have been gathered and checked. Fourteen species are included based on literature records, because their distribution ranges suggest they may occur in Equatorial Guinea, 11 introduced species could be naturalized, and 45 taxa are recorded for the first time from the country. This represents an increase of over 35% in the floristic knowledge of Caesalpinioideae from Equatorial Guinea. A statistical summary is presented at the end of the checklist.  © 2006 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society , 2006, 151 , 541–562.  相似文献

Solanaceae is a family with nearly 2400 species of cosmopolitan distribution. Vassobia breviflora is the only species of the genus present in Argentina. The goal of this work was to review and characterize the anatomy of the flower and fruit of V. breviflora from samples collected in populations of Yungas in the argentine Northwest. Conventional anatomical techniques were applied. The results showed that most flower, fruit and seed structures did not differ from those previously reported regarding the structural organization described for other species of the Solanaceae family. However, for the first time, we described the androecium, fruit, seed, floral and fruit pedicels, five types of tricomes and five types of stomata in the perianth. We found some differences in the shape of the transmission tissue and in the type of ovule with respect to that previously reported. Also, we located the parenchyma and the epidermic secretory cells of the nectary. In the context of the family Solanaceae, we discussed the function and diagnostic value of the described structures.  相似文献

The thermally induced helix-coil transitions of three A-T DNAs, d(A)n·d(T)n, d(A-T)n·d(A-T)n, and d(A-A-T)n·d(A-T-T)n, were studied. Experimental transition curves of the DNAs were analyzed using the loop entropy model of DNA melting. The calculation of the melting curve of d(A-A-T)n·d(A-T-T)n is presented using the integral equation formalism of Goel and Montroll. The aim of this work was to evaluate thermodynamic parameters which govern DNA stability and to test the theoretical model employed in the analysis. Our results show (1) an excellent over-all agreement between theory and experiment, (2) a loop entropy exponent k = 1.55 ± 0.05 provided the best fit to all the polymer transition curves, (3) the evaluated stacking free energies reflect the relative stability of the DNAs, and (4) the stacking energies of the ApA·TpT dimer evaluated from d(A)n·d(T)n and d(A-A-T)n·d(A-T-T)n differ. The last result is consistent with different conformations for the dimer in these two polymers.  相似文献

Galactomannan with a molecular weight of 1976 kDa was isolated by hot water extraction from the locoweed (Oxytropis lanata (Pallas) DC) seeds (yield, 3.68% of the seed weight); its solutions display high viscosity: [η] = 1697.7 ml/g and optical activity αD + 76.8°. The polysaccharide consists of mannose and galactose residues at a molar ratio of 1.36: 1. The backbone of galactomannan macromolecule is formed by 1,4-β-D-mannopyranose residues, 73.5% of which are substituted with single α-D-galactopyranose residues at C-6.  相似文献

A bacterial strain AM7, isolated from soil and identified as Bacillus circulans, produced two kinds of novel cyclic oligosaccharides. The cyclic oligosaccharides were produced from amylose using a culture supernatant of the strain as the enzyme preparation. The major product was a cyclomaltopentaose cyclized by an alpha-(1-->6)-linkage, cyclo-{-->6)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->}. The other minor product was cyclomaltohexaose cyclized by an alpha-(1-->6)-linkage, cyclo-{-->6)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->4)-alpha-D-Glcp-(1-->}. We propose the names isocyclomaltopentaose (ICG5) and isocyclomaltohexaose (ICG6) for these novel cyclic maltooligosaccharides having one alpha-(1-->6)-linkage. ICG5 was digested by alpha-amylase derived from Aspergillus oryzae, cyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) from Bacillus stearothermophilus, and maltogenic alpha-amylase. On the other hand, ICG6 was digested by CGTase from B. stearothermophilus and B. circulans, and maltogenic alpha-amylase. This is the first report of enzymatically produced cyclomaltopentaose and cyclomaltohexaose, which have an alpha-(1-->6)-linkage in their molecules.  相似文献

The conservation status, species identification, distribution, specific habitat and ecology of a threatened, endemic cyprinid fish, Onychostoma alticorpus (Oshima 1919) is reported herein. It is merely found in five river basins of Taiwan. The protection of natural habitat would be very essential.  相似文献

Seasonal activities of the digestive enzyme trypsin were measured between August 1998 and May 1999 to study different nutritional strategies of the two copepods Pseudocalanus minutus and Oithona similis in the Arctic Kongsfjorden (Svalbard) using a highly sensitive fluorescence technique. Stage-, depth- and season-specific characteristics of digestive activity were reflected in the trypsin activity. P. minutus females and stage V copepodids (C) had highest trypsin activities in spring during reproduction (197.5 and 145.7 nmol min−1 ng C−1, respectively). In summer stages CIII–V and in autumn stages CIV and V had high activities (80–116 nmol min−1 ng C−1) in the shallow layer (< 100 m) presumably as a consequence of prolonged feeding before descending to overwintering depth. Trypsin activities at depth (> 100 m) in summer and autumn were low in stages CIII and CIV (29–60 nmol min−1 ng C−1) and in winter in all stages in both layers (20–43 nmol min−1 ng C−1). Based on low trypsin activity, males most likely did not feed. In O. similis, the spring phytoplankton bloom did not significantly affect trypsin activity as compared to the other seasons. O. similis CV and females had high trypsin activities in summer in the deep stratum (304.5 nmol min−1 ng C−1), which was concomitant with reproductive processes and energy storage for overwintering. In autumn, stage CV and female O. similis had significantly higher activities than stage CIV (130–152 versus 78 nmol min−1 ng C−1), which is in accordance with still ongoing developmental and reproductive processes in CVs and females. Comparisons of both species revealed different depth-related responses emphasizing different nutritional preferences: the mainly herbivorous P. minutus is more actively feeding in the shallow layer, where primary production occurs, whereas the omnivorous O. similis is not as much restricted to a certain depth layer, when searching for food. P. minutus had lower levels of trypsin activity during all seasons. In contrast to P. minutus, higher enzyme activities in males of O. similis suggest that they continue to feed and survive after fertilization of females.  相似文献

Ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) are important components of soil ecosystems in temperate zones, but our knowledge regarding the ecology of many species is limited. This study examined larval food habits in the ground beetle Amara (Curtonotus) gigantea (Motschulsky) using laboratory‐rearing experiments. Because this beetle is a member of the tribe Zabrini, which includes several species that exhibit granivory during larval and/or adult stages, three diet types were tested, with starvation as a control: Tenebrio larvae, mixed seeds (Bidens pilosa (Asteraceae), Setaria spp., Digitaria ciliaris (both Poaceae), and Humulus scandens (Moraceae)), and Tenebrio larvae + mixed seeds. Because of high larval mortality during overwintering under laboratory‐rearing conditions, survival and the duration of development through pre‐overwintering stages (first and second instars) were compared. Larvae fed the diet of Tenebrio larvae + mixed seeds showed the highest survival (89%), followed by the diet of Tenebrio larvae (83%), but the difference between the two treatments was not significant; similarly, developmental durations did not differ between these two diets. Larvae fed the mixed‐seeds diet showed markedly lower survival, and no larvae reached the second instar. Therefore, for A. gigantea larvae, animal food results in high larval performance, whereas seeds provide a low value diet; animal food is essential for larval development, but seeds provide no benefit, even as a dietary supplement. Overall, the present results suggest that A. gigantea larvae are omnivorous but with a mainly carnivorous food habit.  相似文献

The covalent binding of trans-Pt (NH3)2Cl2 to the double-stranded poly(I)·poly(C) follows three types of reactions, depending on rb and the concentration of polynucleotide in the reaction mixture. At rb ? 0.1, the principal reaction is coordination to poly(I), giving rise to some destabilization of the double strand, as shown by uv and CD spectra, and a decrease in Tm values, giving rise to free loops of poly(C). At higher rb and low polynucleotide concentration, the free cytidine bases react with platinum bound on the complementary strand to form intramolecular (interstrand) crosslinks that restabilize the double-stranded structure. At high rb and high polynucleotide concentration, while the above reaction still occurs, the predominant one is the formation of intermolecular crosslinks. Under no conditions has strand separation been observed.  相似文献

New species of angiosperms are described as members of the genus Macclintockia from the Ugol’naya Bay area, in northeastern Russia: M. barykovensis Moiseeva, sp. nov., M. gigantea Moiseeva, sp. nov., and M. terranea Moiseeva et Herman, sp. nov. Leaves of this genus are considerably variable, which hampers differentiation between particular species. The study of new material has allowed the author to trace the morphological variability of these species and revised on this ground the composition of the species M. ochotica Vachr. et Herman and M. beringiana Herman. The composition of Macclintockia is discussed, as well as its occurrence during the Late Cretaceous.  相似文献
