The forces and couples in the human trunk during level walking   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The intersegmental force and couple exchanged between upper and lower body across a transverse section passing through the fourth lumbar vertebra were estimated during level walking on a straight line at speeds ranging from 0.99 to 2.23 ms-1. This was done using 3-D kinematic information relative to the head, upper limbs, and upper torso, obtained through a stereophotogrammetric technique, and the relevant inertial parameters obtained using anthropometric measurements and estimation techniques provided in the literature. Twenty walking cycles of five normal adult male subjects were analysed. The intersegmental force and couple components are presented as referenced to both a laboratory and pelvic set of axes. Using these results some considerations are made concerning the variations which the overall trunk muscles effort undergoes because of mean walking speed changes. The muscular action on the trunk is inferred from the intersegmental couple components. The various factors that contribute to the build-up of the intersegmental force and couple are analysed and their relative importance assessed.  相似文献

The planning and the execution of voluntary movement relies on sensorimotor transformations in which representations of the external environment are integrated into motor programs. We studied executions of Whole Body Pointing movements, in normal and in transient microgravity (parabolic flights) conditions. Three processes could lead to adaptation to the new environmental condition: a radical change of terrestrial synergies, their partial modification or preservation. By applying a multivariate analysis on kinematic and electromyographic (EMG) data and by comparing the 1g and 0g conditions, our findings hint the hypothesis the descending information from vestibular system may be directed to change the synergies' modulation. An analogous analysis was performed on the kinematics: the invariance of intersegmental coordination among the segments' elevation angles suggests that these kinematic waveforms are used as reference signals to determine the appropriate muscle synergies in a subordinate and flexible manner in order to adapt to the novel mechanical constraints.  相似文献

Most biomechanical studies of the knee have focused on knee flexion angles between 0 degrees and 120 degrees. The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) has been shown to constrain posterior laxity of the knee in this range of flexion. However, little is known about PCL function in higher flexion angles (greater than 120 degrees ). This in vitro study examined knee kinematics before and after cutting the PCL at high flexion under a posterior tibial load and various muscle loads. The results demonstrated that although the PCL plays an important role in constraining posterior tibial translation at low flexion angles, the PCL had little effect in constraining tibial translation at 150 degrees of flexion under the applied loads.  相似文献

The present study investigated the feasibility and reliability of continuous relative phase (CRP) and deviation phase (DP) to assess intersegmental hind limb coordination pattern and coordination variability in rats during walking. Twenty-six adult rats walked at 8 m/min, 12 m/min and 16 m/min while two-dimensional kinematics were recorded. Segment angles and segment angular velocities of the paw, shank and thigh on the left hind-limb were extracted from 15 strides and CRP was calculated for the paw-shank and shank-thigh coupling. The effect of walking speed on the time point average curve of the CRP (ACRP) and DP and on the mean ACRP and mean DP was established by statistical parametric mapping (SPM) and a one-way ANOVA for repeated measures. Absolute and relative reliability were assessed by measurement error and intra-class correlation coefficient. The SPM analysis revealed time dependent differences in the effect of speed. Thus, the CRP of the paw-shank coupling decreased with increasing speed during most of the gait cycle while the CRP of the shank-thigh coupling was decreased during the swing phase. The session-to-session reliability was fair to good for the coordination measure and poor for the variability measure.  相似文献

We describe segment angles (trunk, thigh, shank, and foot) and joint angles (hip, knee, and ankle) for the hind limbs of bonobos walking bipedally ("bent-hip bent-knee walking," 17 sequences) and quadrupedally (33 sequences). Data were based on video recordings (50 Hz) of nine subjects in a lateral view, walking at voluntary speed. The major differences between bipedal and quadrupedal walking are found in the trunk, thigh, and hip angles. During bipedal walking, the trunk is approximately 33-41 degrees more erect than during quadrupedal locomotion, although it is considerably more bent forward than in normal human locomotion. Moreover, during bipedal walking, the hip has a smaller range of motion (by 12 degrees ) and is more extended (by 20-35 degrees ) than during quadrupedal walking. In general, angle profiles in bonobos are much more variable than in humans. Intralimb phase relationships of subsequent joint angles show that hip-knee coordination is similar for bipedal and quadrupedal walking, and resembles the human pattern. The coordination between knee and ankle differs much more from the human pattern. Based on joint angles observed throughout stance phase and on the estimation of functional leg length, an efficient inverted pendulum mechanism is not expected in bonobos.  相似文献

Mathematical models of the muscle excitation are useful in forward dynamic simulations of human movement tasks. One objective was to demonstrate that sloped as opposed to rectangular excitation waveforms improve the accuracy of forward dynamic simulations. A second objective was to demonstrate the differences in simulated muscle forces using sloped versus rectangular waveforms. To fulfill these objectives, surface EMG signals from the triceps brachii and elbow joint angle were recorded and the intersegmental moment of the elbow joint was computed from 14 subjects who performed two cyclic elbow extension experiments at 200 and 300 deg/s. Additionally, the surface EMG signals from the leg musculature, joint angles, and pedal forces were recorded and joint intersegmental moments were computed during a more complex pedaling task (90 rpm at 250 W). Using forward dynamic simulations, four optimizations were performed in which the experimental intersegmental moment was tracked for the elbow extension tasks and four optimizations were performed in which the experimental pedal angle, pedal forces, and joint intersegmental moments were tracked for the pedaling task. In these optimizations the three parameters (onset and offset time, and peak excitation) defining the sloped (triangular, quadratic, and Hanning) and rectangular excitation waveforms were varied to minimize the difference between the simulated and experimentally tracked quantities. For the elbow extension task, the intersegmental elbow moment root mean squared error, onset timing error, and offset timing error were less from simulations using a sloped excitation waveform compared to a rectangular excitation waveform (p<0.001). The average and peak muscle forces were from 7% to 16% larger and 20-28% larger, respectively, when using a rectangular excitation waveform. The tracking error for pedaling also decreased when using a sloped excitation waveform, with the quadratic waveform generating the smallest tracking errors for both tasks. These results support the use of sloped over rectangular excitation waveforms to establish greater confidence in the results of forward dynamic simulations.  相似文献

Poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(epsilon-caprolactone) diblock copolymers PEG-PCL were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone using monomethoxy poly(ethylene glycol) as the macroinitiator and calcium ammoniate as the catalyst. Obvious mutual influence between PEG and PCL crystallization was studied by altering the relative block length. Fixing the length of the PEG block (Mn = 5000) and increasing the length of the PCL block, the crystallization temperature of the PCL block rose gradually from 1 to about 35 degrees C while that of the PEG block dropped from 36 to -6.6 degrees C. Meanwhile, the melting temperature of the PCL block went up from 30 to 60 degrees C, while that of the PEG block declined from 60 to 41 degrees C. If the PCL block was longer than the PEG block, the former would crystallize first when cooling from a molten state and led to obviously imperfect crystallization of PEG and vice versa. And they both crystallized at the same temperature, if their weight fractions were equal. We found that the PEG block could still crystallize at -6.6 degrees C even when its weight fraction is only 14%. A unique morphology of concentric spherulites was observed for PEG5000-PCL5000. According to their morphology and real-time growth rates, it is concluded that the central and outer sections in the concentric spherulites were PCL and PEG, respectively, and during the formation of the concentric spherulite, the PEG crystallized quickly from the free space of the PCL crystal at the earlier stage, followed by outgrowing from the PCL spherulites in the direction of right angles to the circle boundaries until the entire area was occupied.  相似文献

Open-bore MRI scanners allow joint soft tissue to be imaged over a large, uninterrupted range of flexion. Using an open-bore scanner, 3D para-sagittal images of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) were collected from seven healthy subjects in unloaded, recumbent knee extension and flexion. PCL length was measured from one 2D MRI slice partition per flexion angle, per subject. The anterior surface of the PCL lengthened significantly between extension and flexion (p<0.001). Conversely, the posterior surface did not. Changes were not due to the PCL moving relative to the 2D slice partition; measurements made from 3D reconstructions, which compensated for PCL movement, did not differ significantly from measurements made from 2D slice partitions. In a second experiment, videos of knee flexion were made by imaging two subjects at several flexion angles. Videos allowed soft tissue tracking; examples are included. In a third experiment, unloaded knees of seven healthy, recumbent subjects were imaged at extension and at 40°, 70°, 90°, 100°, 110° and 120° flexion. The distance between PCL attachments increased between extension and 100°, and then decreased (p<0.001). The anterior surface of the PCL lengthened over the flexion angles measured (p<0.01). The posterior surface of the PCL lengthened between extension and 40° and then shortened (p<0.001). Both attachment separation and anterior surface length increased dramatically between extension and 40°, but varied less afterwards. Results indicate that PCL dynamics differ between terminal extension and active function sub-arcs. Also, attachment separation cannot predict the lengthening of all parts of the PCL, nor can lengthening of one part of the PCL predict the lengthening of another part. A potential connection between lengthening and loading is discussed. We conclude that low-field MRI can assess ligament lengthening during flexion, and that the dynamics of the PCL for any given region and sub-arc should be measured directly.  相似文献

Previous studies comparing forward (FW) and backward (BW) walking suggested that the leg kinematics in BW were essentially those of FW in reverse. This led to the proposition that in adults the neural control of FW and BW originates from the same basic neural circuitry. One aspect that has not received much attention is to what extent development plays a role in the maturation of neural control of gait in different directions. BW has been examined either in adults or infants younger than one year. Therefore, we questioned which changes occur in the intermediate phases (i.e. in primary school-aged children). Furthermore, previous research focused on the lower limbs, thereby raising the question whether upper limb kinematics are also simply reversed from FW to BW. Therefore, in the current study the emphasis was put both on upper and lower limb movements, and the coordination between the limbs. Total body 3D gait analysis was performed in primary school-aged children (N = 24, aged five to twelve years) at a preferred walking speed to record angular displacements of upper arm, lower arm, upper leg, lower leg, and foot with respect to the vertical (i.e. elevation angle). Kinematics and interlimb coordination were compared between FW and BW. Additionally, elevation angle traces of BW were reversed in time (revBW) and correlated to FW traces. Results showed that upper and lower limb kinematics of FW correlated highly to revBW kinematics in children, which appears to be consistent with the proposal that control of FW and BW may be similar. In addition, age was found to mildly alter lower limb kinematic patterns. In contrast, interlimb coordination was similar across all children, but was different compared to adults, measured for comparison. It is concluded that development plays a role in the fine-tuning of neural control of FW and BW.  相似文献

The biceps brachii is a bi-articular muscle affecting motion at the shoulder and elbow. While its' action at the elbow is well documented, its role in shoulder elevation is less clear. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to investigate the influence of shoulder and elbow joint angles on the shoulder elevation function of the biceps brachii. Twelve males and 18 females were tested on a Biodex dynamometer with the biceps brachii muscle selectively stimulated at a standardized level of voltage. The results indicated that both shoulder and elbow joint angles influence the shoulder joint elevation moment produced by the biceps brachii. Further analysis revealed that the elevation moment was greatest with the shoulder joint at 0 degrees and the elbow flexed 30 degrees or less. The greatest reduction in the elevation moment occurred between shoulder angles of 0 degrees and 30 degrees . The shoulder elevation moment was near zero when shoulder elevation reached or exceeded 60 degrees regardless of elbow angle. These results clarify the role of the biceps in shoulder elevation, as a dynamic stabilizer, and suggest that it is a decelerator of the arm during the throwing motion.  相似文献

How does the CNS coordinate muscle contractions between different body segments during normal locomotion? Work on several preparations has shown that this coordination relies on excitability gradients and on differences between ascending and descending intersegmental coupling. Abstract models involving chains of coupled oscillators have defined properties of coordinating circuits that would permit them to establish a constant intersegmental phase in the face of changing periods. Analyses that combine computational and experimental strategies have led to new insights into the cellular organization of intersegmental coordinating circuits and the neural control of swimming in lamprey, tadpole, crayfish and leech.  相似文献

Anterior cruciate ligament injury is a debilitating pathology which may alter lower limb coordination pattern in both intact and affected lower extremities during activities of daily living. Emerging evidence supports the notion that kinematic variables may not be a good indicator to differentiate patients with anterior cruciate ligament deficiency during step descent task. The aim of the present study was to examine alterations in kinematics as well as coordination patterns and coordination variability of both limbs of these patients during a single step descent task. Continuous relative phase technique was used to measure coordination pattern and coordination variability between a group of anterior cruciate ligament deficient (n = 23) and a healthy control group (n = 23). A third order polynomial Curve fitting was utilized to provide a curve that best fitted to the data points of coordination pattern and coordination variability of the healthy control group. This was considered as a reference to compare to that of patient group using nonlinear regression analysis. The results of the present study demonstrated an altered coordination pattern of the supporting shank-thigh and the stepping foot-shank couplings in anterior cruciate ligament deficient subjects. It was further noticed that there was an increased coordination variability in foot-shank and shank-thigh couplings of both supporting and stepping legs. There was no significant difference in the hip, knee and ankle joints kinematics in either side of these patients. Anterior cruciate ligament deficient individuals showed altered strategies in both intact and affected legs, with increased coordination variability. Kinematic data did not indicate any significant difference between the two groups. It could be concluded that more sophisticated dynamic approach such as continuous relative phase would uncover discrepancies between the healthy and anterior cruciate ligament deficient individuals.  相似文献

Distributions of alleles at three apolipoprotein loci (APO E, APO H, and APO A-IV) and an insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism at the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) locus among 274 American Samoans are described here. Genotypes at each locus are examined for associations with quantitative lipid (total cholesterol (total-c), LDL-cholesterol (LDL-c), HDL-cholesterol (HDL-c), and triglycerides) and apolipoprotein (APO AI, APO AII, APO E, and APO B) levels. Genotype frequencies at all four loci are in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The most common APO A-IV genotype (1-1) was observed in 252 American Samoans (97%). The three most common APO E genotypes were 3-3 (47%), 3-4 (30%), and 2-3 (12%). The most frequent APO H genotype was 2-2 (86%). The most common ACE genotype (I/I) was observed in 75% of sampled individuals, and 23% were I/D heterozygotes. APO E genotypic variation was associated with total-c, HDL-c, LDL-c, and all four quantitative apolipoproteins (AI, AII, E, and B). APO A-IV genotypes were associated significantly with total cholesterol, LDL-c, and APO-B levels. APO H showed little association with any quantitative lipid or apolipoprotein. ACE D/D homozygotes had higher AII levels. ACE showed a consistent association with APO AII levels, with either APO A-IV or APO E as a covariate. The interaction term between ACE and APO E was also significantly associated with total-c and APO E levels, and the ACE genotype showed a significant main effect on APO AI levels in multivariate analyses.  相似文献

Light quantity and quality strongly influence plant growth. However, different ecosystems have different capabilities to assimilate solar radiation. In this study, the effects of cloudiness intensity on the net ecosystem exchange of carbon dioxide (NEE) were compared between an alpine grassland (with lower leaf area index) at A??Rou and an oasis maize cropland (with higher leaf area index) at Yingke, using flux data obtained during the middle of the growing season (July?CAugust) in 2008 and 2009. The results showed that the response of NEE to photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) was more negative (carbon uptake) under cloudy than under clear skies at both sites. The maximum NEE occurred when the clearness index (CI) ranged from 0.4 to 0.7 under cloudy skies. The maximum enhancements were 11.9% for solar elevation angles of 60?C65° in the grassland, and 34.9% for solar elevation angles of 60?C65° and 10.3% for angles of 35?C40° in the maize cropland before the irrigation period. The response of NEE to CI changed slightly with solar elevation angle in the grassland compared to the maize cropland. The results indicate that enhanced NEE under cloudy skies can be attributed to increasingly diffuse PAR and interactions with environmental factors (air temperature and vapor pressure deficit).  相似文献

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the feasibility of anastomotic stent application in a porcine aortoiliac graft model. In a total of 10 pigs, a polytetrafluoroethylene aortobi-iliac graft was implanted through a midline abdominal incision. The lower edge of the iliac vessel was graft-inverted about 1 mm to produce irregularities at the downstream anastomosis. After transverse graft incision, six stainless-steel stents, six poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) stents and four PLLA stents with 10% polycaprolactone (PCL) were implanted at the iliac anastomotic site using a 6 mm balloon dilatation catheter. Four anastomotic sites were left untreated. After two weeks, the patency of graft limbs was evaluated by contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT). Both metal and polymeric stent designs provided adequate flexibility to manoeuvre across the anastomotic site for expansion in the chosen position. After deployment, the stent-arterial wall contact was complete on a macroscopic view. On CT scan, all metal and PLLA-stented graft limbs were free of stenosis, whereas all PLLA/PCL stents were occluded. The non-stented graft limbs showed a stenosis of 50-70%. In summary, this model is feasible to assess preclinically the deployment and patency rate of an anastomotic stent and to test future stent developments.  相似文献

Biomechanical gait tests on above-knee amputees were conducted in which the alignment of the prosthesis was changed systematically. An eight-segment biomechanical model of the above-knee amputee was developed to analyse and present the three-dimensional kinematic and kinetic data obtained. The effects of alignment changes on the above-knee amputees' gait were studied in terms of the angular displacements of the lower limbs, ground reactions and intersegmental moments. It was found that following the alignment changes the angular displacement at the hip joint on the prosthetic side showed compensatory actions by the amputee. The ground reaction force was sensitive to alignment changes, and in particular, the changes in the characteristics of the fore-aft component of the ground force could be related to the alignment changes. The antero-posterior intersegmental moments at the prosthetic ankle and knee joints were evidently influenced by alignment.  相似文献

The dynamics of the center of mass (CoM) during walking and running at various gait conditions are well described by the mechanics of a simple passive spring loaded inverted pendulum (SLIP). Due to its simplicity, however, the current form of the SLIP model is limited at providing any further information about multi-segmental lower limbs that generate oscillatory CoM behaviors and their corresponding ground reaction forces. Considering that the dynamics of the CoM are simply achieved by mass-spring mechanics, we wondered whether any of the multi-joint motions could be demonstrated by simple mechanics. In this study, we expand a SLIP model of human locomotion with an off-centered curvy foot connected to the leg by a springy segment that emulates the asymmetric kinematics and kinetics of the ankle joint. The passive dynamics of the proposed expansion of the SLIP model demonstrated the empirical data of ground reaction forces, center of mass trajectories, ankle joint kinematics and corresponding ankle joint torque at various gait speeds. From the mechanically simulated trajectories of the ankle joint and CoM, the motion of lower-limb segments, such as thigh and shank angles, could be estimated from inverse kinematics. The estimation of lower limb kinematics showed a qualitative match with empirical data of walking at various speeds. The representability of passive compliant mechanics for the kinetics of the CoM and ankle joint and lower limb joint kinematics implies that the coordination of multi-joint lower limbs during gait can be understood with a mechanical framework.  相似文献

在113只1.8—3.0kg的浙江本地白兔,观察到前囱不够规则的占一半左右;而且即使前囱基本规则的兔,由于头型矢径的个体差异亦可明显影响脑立体定位时APO平面的准确性。本文提出测量两侧眶后上切迹连线与矢状缝交点至人字缝尖的距离(全距),以估计头型矢径;然后按全距与缝距(前囟中心至人字缝尖距离)的回归关系,可确定理论上标准的前囟中心位置约在全距中点向前1.6mm处。经此法校正或确定前囟中心组APO平面的定位准确率(82.9%)比未校正组(46.7%)显著提高(P<0.001)。  相似文献

The spectral composition of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) during clear and overcast days was studied above the canopy (U) and at two layers of a dense Norway spruce stand [Picea abies (L.) Karst.] characterized with an average LAI = 7.3 ± 0.8 (middle layer: M) and 12.3 ± 0.7 (lower layer: L). Whereas the spectral composition of PAR incoming on the canopy surface during cloudy days (characterized by diffuse index DI > 0.7) was almost independent of the solar elevation angle, the proportion of the blue-green spectral region of PAR was significantly reduced at low elevation angles during days with prevailing direct radiation (DI < 0.3). The PAR spectrum at both M and L levels was only slightly enriched in the green spectral region (more pronounced for DI < 0.3). The penetration of diffuse radiation into the canopy resulted in a slight (approx. 5%) reduction of the blue region proportion that remained stable during the day. On the contrary, under clear sky conditions the penetration of blue and red radiation was dependent on the solar elevation in an opposite manner in comparison with the spectral composition of PAR incident on canopy, giving almost twofold proportion of the blue part of the spectrum at a low elevation angle at M layer. We suggest that the blue enhancement of the spectrum within the Norway spruce canopy during clear days is due to a specific spatial arrangement of the assimilatory apparatus of a coniferous stand. Further, the possible consequences of the observed dynamics of the PAR spectrum inside the canopy during clear days on the efficiency of PAR absorption of the needles located within the canopy are discussed.  相似文献
