Ubiquitin is a ubiquitous and highly conserved protein of 76 amino acid residues, that can be covalently attached to cellular acceptor proteins through a multi-step enzymatic pathway. Mono- or poly-ubiquitination of proteins can lead to protein degradation or modification of protein activity. The ubiquitin system is essential to all eukaryotic cells. Many components of the complex ubiquitin system show remarkable evolutionary conservation, from yeast to mammalian species. Interestingly, during gametogenesis, many specialized and important aspects of the ubiquitin system become apparent. TheHR6B gene is a mammalian, autosomal homolog of theSaccharomyces cerevisiae geneRAD6 encoding a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme.RAD6 in yeast is required for a variety of cellular functions, including sporulation, DNA repair, and mutagenesis. Male infertility inHR6B knockout mice is associated with impairment of spermatogenesis. Components of the ubiquitin system appear to be involved in different steps and processes during gametogenesis, including control of meiosis, and reorganization of chromatin structure.  相似文献

Résumé Nos recherches au microscope électronique portent sur une structure nerveuse en lamelles découverte pour la première fois dans l'antenne duSpeophyes, qu'on étudie comparativement chez les Coléoptères hypogés et épigés. Nous constatons qu'elle existe à l'extrémité de l'antenne chez toutes les espèces cavernicoles de l'échantillon examiné ainsi que chez plusieurs espèces épigées. Nous n'avons pas rencontré cet organe à l'extrémité de l'antenne de trois espèces épigées; nous ne pouvons cependant pas affirmer qu'il n'existe pas, les articles inférieurs de l'antenne n'ayant pas été examinés. Son plus grand développement chez les espèces cavernicoles laisse supposer une fonction plus spécifiquement adaptée à ce milieu. La structure fine de ces lamelles présentant une étroite similitude avec celle des photorécepteurs, nous avons émis l'hypothèse d'une sensibilité à des rayonnements présents dans la grotte, par exemple au rayonnement infrarouge. Il faut souligner que la nature ciliaire de ces structures est en désaccord avec l'appartenance de l'Insecte à la lignée rhabdomérique.
Comparative study on the lamellated nervous structures in the antenna of certain coleoptera
Summary The lamellated nervous system discovered in the antennae of the beetleSpeophyes, has been comparatively investigated in various hypogeous and epigeous species. It was found in almost all of the species studied in the tip of the antennae. It was, however, not detected in a few of the epigeous forms. Its extensive development in the cave develling species suggests a specific function in this particular environment. The fine structure of the lamellae is closely comparable to that of photosensory cells. Therefore it is assumed that they serve a similar function, i. e. the perception of infrared radiation in the caves. Its ciliary nature does not correspond to the rhabdomeric structure of insect eyes.

Addition of iodazide to acetylated, benzylated, and methoxymethylated glycals yielded 2-deoxy-2-iodoglycosyl azides with 1,2-trans configuration. Stereoselectivity of the reaction favored the manno and talo configurations starting from d-glucal and d-galactal, respectively. With d-xylal derivatives, the stereoselectivity depended on the nature of the substituents. The Staudinger reaction of 2-deoxy-2-iodoglycosyl azides with trimethylphosphite led to the corresponding 2-deoxy-2-iodoglycosyl phosphoramidates in high yield.  相似文献

Résumé Une nouvelle réaction de mise en évidence histochimique du fer exogène, utilisé comme traceur pour l'étude des connexions dans le système nerveux central, est décrite. Elle comporte la transformation du fer en bleu de Prusse, lequel est utilisé comme catalyseur de l'oxydation de la diaminobenzidine par l'eau oxygénée. La diaminobenzidine oxydée précipite sous forme d'un produit insoluble de couleur brun-noir. Cette réaction présente une sensibilité et un contraste nettement supérieurs à ceux de la réaction classique de Perls.
Diaminobenzidine black as a new histochemical demonstration of exogenous iron
Summary A new reaction for the histochemical demonstration of exogenous iron, used as a tracer for the study of connectivity in the central nervous system, is described. It consists of, first, the conversion of iron into Prussian blue, which acts secondarily as a catalyst for the oxidation of diaminobenzidine by hydrogen peroxide. The oxidized diaminobenzidine precipitates by polymerization and gives rise to a brown-colored insoluble reaction product. This reaction has a strikingly better sensitivity and contrast than the classical Perls's reaction.

Bohemia and Moravia, the two parts constituting together the Czech Republic, do not only represent historical countries, but they also display distinct geographies. As Bohemia is surrounded by mountains, its territory is often called the Bohemian Basin. In Moravia, the mountains in the north of the country are interrupted by the Moravian Gate, giving access to the Great Northern Plain of Europe with its rich sources of Northern flints, the best raw material for chipped stone industries available in Central Europe. The southern part opens directly towards the Danubian region with its more temperate environment, and connecting the south of Germany with the Balkans. The morphology of the territory had obviously influenced the Palaeolithic occupation. In the Lower and Middle Palaeolithic when communication did not play any major role, the two countries were settled relatively regularly, although not too densely. The Early Upper Palaeolithic brought a substantial change: In Moravia hundreds of sites proliferate, while there are only few of them in Bohemia. The Pavlovian phase of the Gravettian seems to be completely missing in Bohemia, while in Moravia it is concentrated in several megasites on the banks of the main rivers. This is certainly caused by the presence of the South-North artery of animal migrations and human communication. Since the Epigravettian, the density of occupation became balanced again. The local evolution of the Upper Palaeolithic was interrupted by the invasion of the Magdalenians coming from the West, on the one side along the Danube River, on the other by the northern route through Poland. The Late Palaeolithic, subject to influences coming from the North, gradually transformed into the Mesolithic.  相似文献

Résumé Les modalités de la détermination et de la différenciation du dimorphisme sexuel de Néréidiens (Annélides Polychètes) ont été recherchées chezNereis pelagica L. etPerinereis cultrifera G. par des expériences de décérébration, de castration (par irradiation X), de greffes et d'injection de produits génitaux.Les caractères sexuels somatiques des cirres parapodiaux (renflement et crénelures) se développent toujours conformément au sexe génétique quel que soit l'état génital de laNereis et la nature de l'intervention. La détermination des caractères sexuels somatiques des cirres parapodiaux apparaît donc comme étant très précoce (3 mois au moins avant la différenciation génitale) et stable.Par contre, les papilles pygidiales, caractère sexuel mâle dans les conditions normales, peuvent se différencier chez les très jeunes femelles dont l'épitoquie est déclenchée prématurément par décérébration et chez les femelles de tout âge dont les transformations hétéronéréidiennes sont réalisées en présence d'un milieu mâle (injection de produits génitaux, greffe sur un mâle). Les papilles pygidiales semblent donc déterminées précocement chez les deux sexes; leur différenciation est cependant inhibée chez les femelles au cours de la maturation génitale.
Control of determination and the differentiation of the sexual somatic characters of Nereids (Annelida Polychaeta)
Summary The modalities of determination and differentiation of sexual dimorphism of Nereids (Annelida Polychaeta) were investigated inNereis pelagica L. andPerinereis cultrifera G. with experiments involving decerebration, castration (by X irradiation), grafts or injection of genital products.The sexual somatic characters of the parapodial cirri (swelling and crenellations) always develop according to the genetic sex, whatever the genital state of the Nereis and the nature of the intervention. Therefore the determination of the sexual somatic characters of the parapodial cirri appear to be determined in a very precocious and stable way (at least 3 months before the genital differentiation).The pygidial papillae, a male sexual character in normal conditions, can be formed by very young females in which heteronereidation is realized prematurely by decerebration, and by females of any age in which heteronereid transformations are realized in a male environment (e.g. by injection of genital products, or grafting onto a male). Therefore the pygidial papillae may be determined precociously in either sex; however their differentiation is normally inhibited in females in the course of genital maturation.

Résumé L'uf de ver à soie qui se prête à de nombreuses recherches génétiques et physiologiques a été assimilé à un volume géométrique simple afin qu'on puisse calculer aisément l'aire de sa surface totale et son volume. On a d'abord cherché à justifier le modèle géométrique proposé grâce à une étude expérimentale et statistique. On a ensuite établi les formules mathématiques utiles. Enfin on a discuté de l'approximation donnée par ces formules et de leur signification biologique.
Summary The egg of the silkworm which permits a lot of genetical and physiological researches has been assimilated to a simple geometric volume, so that the area of its total surface and its volume might be easily calculated. First we have tried to justify the geometrical model which is proposed by means of an experimental and statistical study. We have then demonstrated the useful mathematical formulas. Finally we have discussed the approximation given by these formulas and their biological significance.

Zusammenfassung Das Seidenraupenei, das viele genetische und physiologische Forschungen ermöglicht, hat man mit einem einfachen geometrischen Modell verglichen, um seine ganze Fläche und sein Volumen leicht rechnen zu können. Zuerst hat man versucht, das vorgeschlagene geometrische Modell dank einer experimentalen und statistischen Arbeit zu rechtfertigen. Dann sind die nötigen mathematischen Formeln festgesetzt worden. Zuletzt hat man die durch diese Formeln gegebenen Annäherungen und ihre biologischen Bedeutung erörtert.

Urothelial carcinoma of the male urethra is a rare tumour. We report a new case of urothelial carcinoma of the urethra in a 64-year old man who was examined due to a dysuria. Retrograde and voiding urethrocystography carried out had shown images of bulbopenile urethral stricture treated by urethroplasty. Histological examination of the urethrectomy part revealed a urothelial carcinoma of the urethra. The patient refused any additional treatment and survived 14 months after diagnosis.  相似文献

Objective

The goal of this study is the evaluation of the functionnal results and the complications of this type of surgery. Such questions have been poorly discussed in the literature.

Methods

We report our experience on 80 inflatable prostheses that were implanted between october 1987 and october 1994. The mean follow-up is 3 years and the assessment of the objective (mechanical functioning of the prosthesis and complications) and sujective results (sexuality of the patients) is carried out on 68 patients.

Results

The results are the following:
  • ? 54.5% of functioning disturbances,
  • ? 7% of infections,
  • ? 27.5% of prosthesis removals.
  • Most of the patients considered they were satisfied although only 65% returned to a regular sexual activity.  相似文献
