In dogs with electrodes chronically implanted in the hippocampus, the conditioned activity, heart rate frequency and spectral characteristics of the hippocampal theta-rhythm were studied in conditions of irregular presentation after a preparatory stimulus now of alimentary and now of defensive triggering conditioned stimuli. It is shown that uncertainty of alimentary or defensive reinforcement is a stronger emotiogenic factor than the action of the triggering defensive conditioned stimulus. Changes in electrical hippocampal activity and autonomous activity depend, along with other factors, on forecasted volume of the forthcoming motor activity. The speed of instrumental conditioned reflexes formation correlates with the hippocampal theta-rhythm frequency, typical for the given animal.  相似文献

Frequency changes of hippocampal theta-rhythm in the process of elaboration of coinciding or delayed instrumental alimentary reflex was studied in two dogs. Determination of dominating frequency of rhythmical activity was carried out by means of mathematical methods of analysis on a computer. It was found out, that during the action of conditioned alimentary stimulus the frequency of dominating oscillations became enhanced. Animals with a more frequent initial theta-rhythm formed the delayed alimentary reflex more rapidly.  相似文献

On the model of discriminating alimentary conditioned reflex with spatial separation of the sources of conditioned (CR, light flashes) and unconditioned (feeding trough) stimuli the theta-rhythm of the dorsal hippocampus was evaluated in cats. Two types of the theta-rhythm were observed in the spectrum of the hippocampal electrical activity: low-amplitude, consisting of a slow growing theta-waves (type I) and high-amplitude consisting of rapidly increasing theta-waves (type II). The type I theta-rhythm is sensitive to noradrenaline and correlates with behavioural forms directed immediately to the realization of alimentary motivation, while the type II is sensitive to serotonin and correlates with behavioural forms directed to the source of the conditioned stimulus. Enhancement of the type II theta-rhythm takes place during a delay of the expected conditioned stimulus. It is suggested that type I theta-rhythm reflects a level of activity of the brain structures connected with unconditioned mechanisms, with realization of biological motivations, while type II theta-rhythm is connected with conditioned reinforcing stimuli; it correlates with various forms of conditioned orienting reflexes and reflects the work of the "nervous model of reinforcing stimulus".  相似文献

The factors leading to pronounced emotional stress accompanied by changes in electrical activity of hippocampus were studied in four dogs during elaboration of conditioned switching-over of heterogeneous instrumental reflexes. Objectively recorded signs of emotional stress were observed in two cases: when the animal was not accurate enough in discerning defensive and alimentary situations and throughout the improvement of instrumental defensive reflex. Pronouncement of hippocampal theta-rhythm increased at those stages of switching-over elaboration where the probability of successful avoiding pain stimulation was relatively low. The data obtained permit the conclussion that theta-rhythm is the correlate of the degree of the emotional stress and not only a manifestation of general arousal reaction depending on the level of sensory input.  相似文献

Multiunit activity in two projection cortical areas (visual and motor) was studied in cats at conditioned switch-over of defensive and alimentary responses to electrostimulation of the visual pathways. Interneuronal relations of three-neuronal cortical microsystems (intra-analyzer connections) and relations between microsystems in the visual and motor cortical areas (inter-analyzers connections) were analysed by the method of crosscorrelation of action potential trains. Similar interneuronal relations were revealed in the motor microsystems and different relations were found in visual ones at elaboration of conditioned switch-over. This apparently indicates the leading role of the cortical projection of the signal stimulus in integration of adaptive behavioural act. On the other hand, the presence of common bonds for alimentary and defensive situations as well as of specific ones for each of them was shown in the distribution of interneuronal connections between the analyzers. The former apparently provide for the realization of the conditioned effector movement of the animal occurring in both situations with participation of the same effector organ (the tongue) The latter determine the character of the specific adaptive reaction.  相似文献

A conditioned alimentary instrumental reflex was elaborated in three dogs with chronically implanted electrodes to a consecutive complex conditioned stimulus consisting of two equal acoustic stimuli separated by a pause. At first, the animals reacted with motor reactions during the whole action of the complex signal. Then inhibition of reaction was elaborated at first in pause and then in response to the preparatory stimulus. In the process of stabilization of inhibition, there was an increase of similarity of spectral composition of hippocampal theta-rhythm with the values obtained in the inter-signal period. Conclusion is made that the hippocampus is not a structure necessary for the elaboration of internal inhibition. The frequency of hippocampal theta-rhythm may serve as a characteristic of the property called in Pavlov's school mobility of the nervous system.  相似文献

Lesion effects of various areas of the septum on general behaviour, learning and memory were studied in cats. It appeared that electrocoagulation of the medial septum alone leading to the disappearance of the hippocampal theta rhythm does not result in the development of the septal syndrome signs; does not disturb the normal structure of the sleep-wakefulness cycle; does not delay the elaboration of instrumental alimentary reflexes (to approach two feeders) or their extinction, but does entirely disturb the delayed responses to conditioned stimuli. In cases when lesion involves also the lateral septum, it produces the development of all signs of the septal syndrome (hyperemotionality, hyperactivity, rage, hyperphagia, etc.), disturbance of the normal structure of the sleep-wakefulness cycle, delay of both the elaboration and extinction of instrumental alimentary reflexes, disturbance of pre-elaborated conditioned reactions with sound discrimination, entire disturbance of conditioned delayed responses. On the basis of these data, the specific significance of hippocampal theta-rhythm in the organization of learning and memory is rejected, and a more important role is attributed to the descending regulatory influence exerted by the hippocampus and other archipaleocortical structures on the activating and motivatiogenic structures of mesodiencephalon.  相似文献

Conjugated spikes were singled out from successions of discharges of neurones in the rabbit's visual and sensorimotor neocortical areas acting in correlation. Their temporal structure was studied at intersignal intervals in transswitching of defensive positive and inhibitory conditioned reflexes and also in pseudoconditioning. The obtained results testify that conjugated discharges appeared for the most part periodically (in the average in 85% of fragments of unit activity). At positive and inhibitory conditioned reflexes, the frequency of periodical conjugated discharges belonged in most cases to the theta-rhythm range. At pseudoconditioning, periodical conjugated discharges were in the main of frequencies of delta-range (up to 4 Hz). The obtained results testify about a great significance of cortical neurones interaction in theta-range frequency at conditioned activity.  相似文献

Activity of neurones with rhythmic theta-bursts was recorded in the medial septum--diagonal band complex of the waking rabbits with intact and deafferented septum. Effects of anticholinergic (scopolamine, atropine) and cholinomimetic (physostigmine) drugs were investigated after i.v. injection. Cholinoblocking drugs in doses, suppressing the theta-rhythm in the hippocampal EEG, eliminated rhythmic activity in some cells with weak theta-modulation. Theta-bursts persisted in cells with stable continuous rhythmicity, though its regularity decreased in some of them. Strong reticular or sensory stimulation evoked an increase of burst frequency, involvement of additional septal cells into rhythmic activity and appearance of the theta-rhythm in the hippocampal EEG. Neither anticholinergic, nor cholinomimetic drugs influenced the frequency and basic characteristics of theta-bursts in any condition tested. The anticholinergic drugs have no selective effect upon low-frequency theta-bursts. The septohippocampal connections contain a significant non-cholinergic component. The theoretical concept of the septum as a sole source of the whole frequency band of the theta-rhythm is proposed.  相似文献

The impulsive activity of parietal cortex neurons of rabbits during the elaboration and specialisation of switching-over of alimentary and defensive conditioned reflexes has been studied. There are changes of parietal cortex neurons activity correlated with the stages of switching-over elaboration. The significant differences of the background neurons activity and neurons response to the conditional signal during alimentary and defensive conditioned reflexes have been established. The dominant motivation influences the neurons activity by modulation of background and conditioned activity of neurons. The integrative properties of neurons investigated in switching-over situation are revealed in their ability to summarize the excitation coming to the same sensory input with excitation from different motivational and reinforcement systems.  相似文献

Instrumental defensive (avoidance/escape) and alimentary responses (reinforced with palatable food) in dogs were conditioned by the same stimulus (6-Hz light flashes). Differential inhibition for these responses (0.6-Hz flashes) was formed in unalterable series. Later on, alternative experiments with choice between reinforcements were carried out. In both of experimental series, the degree of alimentary excitability (hunger, satiation) was changed. Numbers of responses to differential and positive conditioned stimuli and their latencies were calculated. Under condition of choice (electrodes on a leg and a pedal in front of a dog) the response depended on a dominant motivation. The dogs differed in the degree of motivation dominance. Differential inhibition was less perfect in unalterable experimental series with dominant motivation. Under conditions of choice between alimentary and defensive reinforcements, the response to the differential stimuli depended on the balance between these motivations: two days of hunger increased the number of alimentary responses, defensive responses prevailed after satiation.  相似文献

EEG power spectra of the sensorimotor area of the neocortex, the dorsal hippocampus, midbrain reticular formation and anteroventral thalamic nucleus, as well as corresponding coherence functions and phase spectra, undergo changes during formation and performance of defensive conditioned reflex in rabbit. The conclusion is draen that in the process of conditioning a morphofunctional system of brain structures is established including the above mentioned formations. Their functional integration occurs on the basis of theta-rhythm. The execution of a conditioned act requires isorhythmicity of electrical processes within the theta-range in the studied structures and an adequate level of their excitability, which is manifested in the dominance of 6,0 c/s frequency.  相似文献

It has been found in experiments on rats with chronically implanted electrodes that water-deprived rats as well as those under the conflict-punishment conditions demonstrated considerable activation of the hippocampal theta-rhythm. Phenazepam decreased the hippocampal theta-rhythm in water-deprived rats, whereas electric punishment did not produce any appreciable changes in the frequency spectrum on the electrogram. The data obtained suggest that an anticonflict (anxiolytic) effect of benzodiazepines is caused by the regulatory influence on the theta-rhythm in the hippocamp.  相似文献

In experiments on cats with chronically implanted electrodes a conditioned stimulus (200 c/s tone) was paired with electrical stimulation of limbic structures, which produces pronounced emotional behaviour: defensive, aggressive, alimentary or drinking reactions. It has been shown that conditioned reactions are not elaborated on the basis of electrical stimulation, which activates alimentary, drinking or aggressive behaviour. Neither is a conditioned reflex formed to the combination of sound and stimulation of the brain structures, which inhibits alimentary behaviour. A distinct conditioned fear reaction sets in as a result of combination of sound and electrical stimulation of brain structures, which evoke defensive behaviour. The data obtained are analyzed in the light of the significance of natural requirements of the organism for the elaboration of conditioned reflexes.  相似文献

Six dogs with implanted cortical and subcortical electrodes were trained to press a lever to avoid electroshock to a hind leg. Intracerebral stimulation at low frequency was delivered as an "indifferent" or a "CD" tracer. Changes of EEG responses to the tracers prior to the voluntary lever-pressing or the conditioned avoidance lever-pressing were prior to the voluntary lever-pressing or the conditioned avoidance lever-pressing were examined by continuous frequency analysis. (1) Evoked potentials to the tracer stimulation were changed just before the conditioned defensive reflex, the voluntary lever-pressing and the conditioned avoidance lever-pressing, regardless of the site of the tracer stimulation. (2) The cortical and subcortical structures (Hippo, RF) seemed to be involved in the neural circuit responsible for the avoidance lever-pressing, whereas the sensorimotor cortex may be essential in the circuit for the alimentary lever-pressing. (3) The avoidance lever-pressing and the EEG response to the "CS" tracer were influenced by the internal inhibition (experimental extinction, inhibitory mechanism was discussed.  相似文献

At pairing of isorhythmic stimuli beyond the theta-rhythm frequency limits (3 and 8 Hz), in power spectra of EEGs of the sensorimotor and visual neocortical areas of rabbits, the frequencies are present both of the theta-range and of the stimulation frequency, in the background activity as well as during the stimulation. Both rhythms are in reciprocal relations. The frequency of the theta-rhythm approaches the frequency divisible by that of the stimulation. Under the action of the conditioned stimulus, crosscorrelation coefficients (CC) between the potentials of the areas under study decrease in most cases in comparison to their background values. Combination of the conditioned stimulus with the unconditioned one, leads approximately in equal number of cases to an increase or decrease of CC. After elimination of the stimuli, in most cases CC increases. CC of the background activity does not increase in the course of paired stimuli presentation though a conditioned response is being formed. At presence of stimuli frequency fluctuations simultaneously in the potentials of both areas, the rise of coherence function at this frequency does not occurs always. Thus, the above spectral-correlation parameters of rabbit's cortical potentials differ from those which arise at pairing of continuous nonrhythmic stimuli. This difference is probably due to different characteristics of the stimuli presented.  相似文献

In experiments on 35 pigeons formation and realization was studied of alimentary motor conditioned reflexes under the influence of alternating magnetic field (AMF) with a frequency of 5 and 8 Hz and induction 5100 nTl. It has been found that under the action of such AMF, the percent of adequate responses lowers and the time of motor reaction during execution of motor alimentary conditioned reflexes and of delayed reactions increases. Realization of delayed reactions is disturbed more significantly than that of the present conditioned reflexes. AMF with a frequency of 8 Hz influences more expressively the pigeons conditioned activity in comparison with 5 Hz frequency.  相似文献

Comparative analysis of characteristics of rhythmic theta-activity in the neurones of the medial septal nucleus and nucleus of diagonal band was performed in intact rabbits after. i. v. injection of pentobarbital, and in rabbits with chronic lesion of the ascending brain-stem afferent fibers. In both conditions theta-bursts disappeared in some cells with unstable periodic rhythmic modulation; substantial population of the septal units preserved regular burst activity. Main characteristics of theta-bursts were almost identical in both states, their mean frequency decreased to 3.5 Hz. The theta-rhythm in hippocampal EEG was usually absent; but low-frequency rhythmic activity could be evoked by electrical or sensory stimulation as well as by injection of bemegrid or physostigmine. The data show that the ascending brain-stem afferents control: the frequency of the bursts in a population of septal units regarded as bursting pace-maker cells; the total number of the septal cells secondarily (synaptically) involved into rhythmic activity. The effect of pentobarbital upon theta-rhythm results from elimination of these influences upon the septal cells.  相似文献

Formation and achievement of heterogenous instrumental reflexes to two consecutive complex stimuli was studied in dogs. Under the action of conditioned complex stimulus tone--Pause--tone, the dogs may be trained not to have a motor response to the first tone presentation, but perform alimentary instrumental reaction only to its repeated administration. Introducing into the experiment not only alimentary but also defensive complex stimulus stone-pause--light resulted in a change in animal's reactions in such a sequence: at first alimentary instrumental reaction was disinhibited under the action of the preparatory stimulus and during the pause, then bieffector responses appeared, further on in most of the dogs motor defensive reactions mainly took place. Trigger stimuli evoked the adequate instrumental reaction.  相似文献

Unit responses in the secondary somatosensory cortex during the formation and extinction of a defensive conditioned reflex to acoustic stimulation were investigated in chronic experiments on cats. In 21 of 28 neurons tested during defensive conditioning the firing pattern changed in accordance with the character of responses to electric shock reinforcement. Two types of conditioned-reflex unit responses were distinguished: excitatory and inhibitory. Most neurons responding to the conditioned stimulus by activation did so during the first 50 msec, which was 80–100 msec before the conditioned motor response. Considerable variability of the unit responses was observed during conditioning. By the time of stabilization of the conditioned-reflex connections the unit response to the conditioned stimulus was stable in form. The pattern of extinction of the conditioned unit activity was expressed as a decrease in the discharge frequency in responses of excitatory type and disinhibition of activity in the case of inhibitory responses.A.
