A new species of Entolomataceae, Rhodocybe paurii, is described from Garhwal in the western Indian Himalaya. This species grows on wood in dense clusters and belongs to section Claudopodes Singer ex Baroni because of its pleurotoid habit and lack of hymenial pseudocystidia. It is distinguished from the other pleurotoid species in that section by its layered caespitose habit, a brown spore deposit and a tomentose pileus surface composed of a well-developed layer of hyaline, erect, filamentous hyphae. Phylogenetic analysis using nucleotide sequence data from the nuclear large ribosomal subunit gene indicates a close relationship between R. paurii and the type species of the genus, Rhodocybe caelata. This analysis also suggests a possible paraphyly of the genus Rhodocybe and supports monophyly of Entoloma sensu lato.  相似文献

Rhodocybe pulchrisperma is described as a new species of Agaricales from North America. It belongs in section Rhodocybe due to the brightly colored pseudocystidia and lack of clamp connections. The very large, handsomely ornamented basidiospores distinguish this species from others in the section. A key to taxa from Florida, Papua New Guinea, and India that exhibit similar features is presented.  相似文献

A preliminary account of Entolomataceae from Costa Rica is presented. Three new taxa are described, two inClitopilus, one inRhodocybe, and three new combinations are proposed inInocephalus. Five taxa ofClitopilus are reported for the first time from Costa Rica and a key to species is provided. Four species ofRhodocybe are discussed and a key to the six species known from Costa Rica is also provided.Alboleptonia earlei, Inocephalus murraii, Inocephalus quadratum, Rhodocybe incarnata andRhodocybe pseudonitellina are now known to occur in Costa Rica.  相似文献

Summary Throughout a period of 23 days, during which the photosynthesis, growth and transpiration of two species of Atriplex were compared, A. spongiosa, a C4 species (first products of photosynthesis = 4-C dicarboxylic acids), maintained net rates of leaf photosynthesis as high as, or higher than, those of A. hastata, a C3 species (photosynthesis exhibiting the Calvin-type characteristics).However, as the experiment progressed, the proportion of photosynthate which was used to produce new leaf material declined progressively in A. spongiosa, so that total plant growth rate, initially more than twice as high as in A. hastata, declined to only 0.8 of the A. hastata value. This result demonstrated clearly that more efficient photosynthesis is only one factor, and in this case a relatively minor factor, in total growth rate.Transpiration rates were consistently lower in A. spongiosa than in A. hastata and the ratio declined slightly during the experiment. In consequence, water-use efficiency, both on a single-leaf and whole-plant basis, was much greater in the C4 species.Levels of mesophyll resistance (r m ) were consistently lower in A. spongiosa and increased from about 0.4–0.6 to 1.2–1.5 s cm–1 during the experiment. In A. hastata there was more variability in r m levels but little overall trend towards a higher r m , initial and final values being of the order of 2.5–2.6 and 2.6–2.9 s cm–1, respectively. Levels of stomatal resistance (r l ) were higher in A. spongiosa (about 1.0–1.2 s cm–1) than in A. hastata (about 0.7–0.8 s cm–1) at the beginning of the experiment and increased to 2.0–2.6 s cm–1, whereas they remained relatively constant in A. hastata.The combination of relatively low r m levels and relatively high r l levels provide the explanation for the substantially greater water use efficiency in A. spongiosa. The progressive changes in these levels and in the pattern of leaf area development in A. spongiosa provide an elegant example of adaptation to arid conditions by this species.  相似文献

The fern genus Lepisorus represents one of the most complicated and controversial lineages in Polypodiaceae, with about 80 species which have been classified into several separate genera, and is notorious for its taxonomic difficulty. Despite progress in recent phylogenetic studies of the family Polypodiaceae involving Lepisorus and its allies, the deep phylogenetic relationship within this group of ferns is still unresolved, and no formal infrageneric classification has been proposed. This contribution presents the most comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of the genus, with 72% species sampled, using a total-evidence approach based on eight plastid markers and ≤25 morphological characters for each species. The analyses resolve the backbone relationship and yield the most robust phylogenetic framework to date. Congruent with previous studies but with new findings, the results herein show that Lepisorus is monophyletic when Neolepisorus, Lemmaphyllum, Tricholepidium, Neocheiropteris and Lepidomicrosorium are included, as well as Lepisorus jakonensis and Paragramma. Furthermore, 17 well-resolved clades are found in the phylogenetic topology, which can be characterized by morphological synapomorphies from traits of rhizome scales, laminae, sori and paraphyses. Based on molecular and morphological evidence, a new infrageneric classification system of Lepisorus is proposed which subdivided Lepisorus into 17 sections.  相似文献

Properties of leaf NAD malic enzyme from plants with C4 pathway photosynthesis   总被引:11,自引:0,他引:11  
C4 acid decarboxylation in one group of C4-pathway species is mediated by an NAD malic enzyme. This paper reports on the partial purification and properties of this enzyme from three species of this group, Atriplex spongiosa, Amaranthus edulis, and Panicum miliaceum. Depending upon the conditions, the Atriplex spongiosa enzyme was 5–30% as active with NADP compared with NAD but the enzyme from the other species was specific for NAD. The enzyme from each species had an absolute requirement for Mn2+ that could not be replaced by Mg2+, and activity was increased several fold by low concentrations of either CoA or acetyl CoA. For the enzyme from Atriplex spongiosa and Amaranthus edulis, there was cooperativity for malate binding and the activators CoA and acetyl CoA functioned to increase the affinity of malate for the enzyme. The Hill coefficients for malate binding were approximately 2 and 4, respectively. However, with the enzyme from Panicum miliaceum, cooperative binding of malate was not apparent and activators operated by increasing V rather than the affinity for malate. Bicarbonate inhibited the enzyme from Atriplex spongiosa and Amaranthus edulis and its effect was inversely related to the concentrations of malate, NAD, and activators. The possible significance of these various allosteric effects on the regulation of the enzyme in vivo is discussed. Reactant concentrations and other conditions required for maximum activity are reported.  相似文献

Aim The plant genus Bursera, with 104 species of trees and shrubs, has been used as a model for biogeographical analyses because of its high species richness and large number of endemic species. The biogeographical patterns of Bursera and their implications for its phylogenetic classification are reviewed in order that some hypotheses on the historical biogeography of tropical Mexico can be proposed. Location Bursera is found in the south‐western USA, most of Mexico, mainly below 1700 m elevation in tropical forests, with some species in xeric shrublands, diversifying along the Pacific slope, Central America, and north‐western South America. A few species occur on the Galapagos and Revillagigedo archipelagos, some of which are endemics, whereas in the Antilles species are distributed extensively, with several endemics in the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, and Hispaniola. Methods Data from specimens in herbaria and the literature were used to construct a matrix of 104 species in 160 areas. Distributional patterns of the species of Bursera were inferred applying track analysis, parsimony analysis of endemicity (PAE), and Brooks parsimony analysis (BPA). Results Track analysis revealed four individual tracks: (1) a circum‐Caribbean track, comprising species of the Bursera simaruba species group; (2) an Antillean track, including species that have been transferred to Commiphora based on their pollen traits; (3) a Mexican Pacific track, including species of the B. fragilis, B. microphylla, and B. fagaroides species groups, called ‘cuajiotes’; and (4) a Neotropical Pacific track, including the two species groups assigned to section Bullockia, in which the individual track of the Bursera copallifera species group is nested within the track of the B. glabrifolia species group. The four tracks overlap in a node in the Mexican Pacific slope, where they are highly diversified. PAE allowed us to identify 22 areas of endemism: 12 in Mexico (11 along the Mexican Pacific slope), six in the Antilles, two in Central America, one in South America, and one in the Galapagos. The general area cladogram obtained by BPA has two main clades: one includes the greater Antilles; and the other, 12 Mexican areas of endemism. Main conclusions Bursera fragilis, B. microphylla, and B. fagaroides species groups can be treated together as a new section within Bursera, sect. Quaxiotea, because they are segregated from the other groups of sect. Bursera based on morphological, anatomical, molecular and geographical evidence.  相似文献

Croton campanulatus, a new species from southeastern Brazil in the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, is here described and illustrated. Morphological data indicate that this species belongs to Croton section Cleodora based on its arborescent habit, pistillate flowers with imbricate sepals, reduced petals, and multifid styles that are fused at the base.  相似文献

Two new Riccia species, R. somaliensis and R. erubescens from Africa are described and illustrated. They are both classified in the subgenus Riccia, section Riccia. R. somaliensis has hyaline, somewhat frilly scales and apolar, wingless spores; R. erubescens has shiny dark, purple-red to bright cherry-red scales and polar, winged spores with numerous small areolae; its tissues are sometimes distorted by gelatinous globules that are gradually extruded on the dorsal surface.  相似文献

Wang)。该新种属于双叶卷瓣兰组(section Tripudianthes Seidenf.),在形态上与该组的4种,即狄氏卷瓣兰(B. dickasonii)、堪布里石豆兰(B. kanburiense)、皱掌卷瓣兰(B. rugosisepalum)和拟双叶卷瓣兰(B. tripudians)近似,主要区别在于该种唇瓣前缘具囊泡,侧面及腹面被稀疏的短腺毛;侧萼片棕黄色,表面光滑。编制了斯勒卷瓣兰及其近缘种的检索表。目前,该种仅在云南南部墨江县发现一个居群,濒危状况有待评估。  相似文献

Six Inocybes are described and illustrated as new taxa or new records from Japan. A new species, Inocybe magnicarpa, is a member of section Marginatae. Two new varieties, I. malenconii var. cylindrata, a member of section Dulcamarae, and I. brunneorufa var. angusta, a representative of section Marginatae. Inocybe reisneri (section Rimosae) and I. fuscidula (section Tardae), are recorded as new to Japan. Inocybe pseudodestricta (section Tardae) is redescribed from a new locality (Chiba Prefecture). A morpho-molecular study was undertaken to solve the taxonomic identity of Riccia plants from the Canary Islands. These plants were assumed to belong to the South African endemic Riccia section Pilifer, but could not be assigned to a particular species in that section. In the interim they were named R. lamellosa (section Riccia), since R. lamellosa is the only European species with conspicuous white ventral scales. Molecular phylogenetic reconstructions based on trnL-F and ITS2 sequences confirmed that the respective Riccia plants belong to section Pilifer. The respective clade is clearly separated from the clades of R. lamellosa and R. elongata, the latter being morphologically most similar within section Pilifer. Based on the combined molecular and morphological evidence the Riccia plants from Canary Islands are described as a new species, R. boumanii, which represents the first species of section Pilifer outside South Africa. Based on revised herbarium specimens, R. boumanii occurs on five islands of the Canary Islands archipelago, namely El Hierro, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma, and Tenerife.  相似文献

  1. The North American oak lace bug feeds on leaves of ‘white oaks” in its native range. In Europe, it was first discovered in northern Italy in 2000. In recent years, it has subsequently spread rapidly and population outbreaks have been observed in several European countries. In the present study, we summarize the steps of its expansion.
  2. To predict its potential host range, we checked 48 oak species in 20 sentinel gardens in seven countries between 2013 and 2018.
  3. In total, 27 oak species were recorded as suitable hosts; 13 of them are globally new ones, 23 out of the 29 in section Quercus (~ white oaks, an intrageneric taxonomic unit within genus Quercus), including Asian oaks, native to Japan, Korea and China, and four out of five in section Cerris (another intrageneric unit of the same genus), were accepted as hosts. None of the species in section Lobatae (red oaks) or in the Ilex group was accepted.
  4. Host records were also collected in forest stands of 10 countries. We found 11 oak species that were infested. Outbreak populations were most commonly found on Quercus robur, Quercus frainetto, Quercus petraea and Quercus cerris, comprising widespread and outstandingly important oaks species in Europe.
  5. Based on our findings, we conclude that suitable hosts for oak lace bug are present in most of Europe and Asia. This means that a lack of hosts will likely not restrict further range expansion.

Arisaema has a long and complicated taxonomic history regarding its infrageneric classification. In the latest system, 14 sections were recognized, based on an unpublished, tentative phylogenetic analysis; in addition the type species and nomenclatural priority for each section were confirmed. Here, we present an updated, genus‐wide phylogenetic analysis, based on four plastid non‐coding regions (3′trnLtrnF, rpl20–5′rps12, psbBpsbH and rpoC2rps2) for > 150 accessions. The maximum parsimony and maximum likelihood phylogenetic analyses identified eight major clades and one branch with unique sequence variation, although the relationships were unclear due to a polytomy and weak support. In the phylogenetic trees, most of the sections proposed in the latest system were distinct and corresponded to the major clades, but some sections are not monophyletic. On the basis of the phylogenetic relationship: (1) A. schimperianum is treated as a member of section Arisaema, rather than section Tenuipistillata or section Sinarisaema; and (2) section Fimbriata, which was synonymised into section Attenuata in the latest system but is morphologically distinct from the other species, is redefined as a monotypic section. In conclusion, we recognize 15 sections of Arisaema and species‐level classifications are discussed in a phylogenetic context.  相似文献

AFLP analysis of genetic relationships in the tribe Datureae (Solanaceae)   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
The AFLP technique was evaluated as a tool for assessing species relationships within the tribe Datureae and genetic distances were estimated for 47 accessions of over 12 species. The phenetic trees from various analyses of the AFLP data gave very high co-phenetic correlation values, and were found to be consistent with previous trees based on the analysis of different data types, in particular ITS-1 sequences, isozymes and morphology, carried out on the same accessions. These results indicated that the AFLP technique is both an efficient and effective tool for determining genetic relationships among taxa in the Solanaceae. A new classification is proposed for the tribe Datureae, which maintains the arborescent species as a separate genus, Brugmansia, and recognises three sections within the genus Datura; Stramonium, Dutra and Ceratocaulis. Allium brussalisii , from Mount Parnitha near Athens (Sterea Hellas, Greece), is described as a species new to science and compared with related species of Allium section Codonoprasum and Allium section Brevispatha. It is a diploid species (2n = 2x = 16) that flowers in early autumn. On the basis of its unilateral and more or less entire spathe and the simple filaments, it resembles species of Allium section Brevispatha; however, its sectional taxonomy remains unclear as, on the basis of several other morphological, cytological, and ecological characteristics, it also resembles species of Allium section Codonoprasum.
