In July 1999, 2 heteromyid rodents Heteromys desmarestianus Gray, 1868, were collected from the Area de Conservación Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and examined for parasites. Individuals of a new species of Vexillata (Travassos, 1937) Durette-Desset, 1970, were found from the intestine of hosts. Vexillata brooksi n. sp. differs from all other congeners by the presence of spicules divided at the tip instead of simple spicules. The new species closely resembles Vexillata legallae Denke, 1977, and Vexillata convoluta (Caballero and Cerecero, 1943); however, it can be distinguished from both species by possessing a smaller number of cuticular ridges at the posterior part of the body in males (9 vs. 11 and 12, respectively) and by the absence of a carene at this level.  相似文献

Pseudanisakis sulamericana n. sp. is described from the intestines of the rays Rioraja agassizii and Psammobatis extenta off the coast of Brazil. It can be readily differentiated from the three existing species of the genus. From P. tricupola Gibson, 1973, it differs in not having cupolas on the lips, having a dentigerous ridge of 90-95 denticles ( vs 65-78) in a continuous subtriangular ring around the mouth, and in having an ejaculatory duct which is shorter than the spicules. From P. rajae (Yamaguti, 1941), it differs in having a single rather than a double row of denticles. It appears most similar to P. baylisi Gibson, 1973, but differs from it in having a smaller body-size (7.5-27 vs 16-46 mm), shorter spicules (1.14-1.90 vs 1.90-3.80 mm) and especially in having much more conspicuous denticles on the lips. The present record confirms the presence of the genus in subtropical waters.  相似文献

During January 2002, 3 specimens of an undescribed species of Oochoristica Lühe, 1898, were collected in Ctenosaura pectinata (Wiegmann, 1834) from Santa Mará Mixtequilla, Oaxaca, Mexico. Oochoristica leonregagnonae n. sp. differs from 71 of 82 species of the genus by its large number of testes (78-112 [95] vs. less than 65 per proglottid, respectively). In addition, the numerous ovarian lobes (31-79 [51]) possessed by the new species distinguish it from the other 10, with a maximum of 20 ovarian lobes. The new species differs from Oochoristica acapulcoensis Brooks, Pérez-Ponce de León and García-Prieto, 1999, which also infects C. pectinata in Mexico, by the presence of numerous staining granules throughout the parenchyma of the scolex in the latter species; likewise, testes in O. acapulcoensis reach and even overpass the excretory canals, whereas in the new species they are limited to the central region between these tubules.  相似文献

The new fern species Pteris herrerae A. Rojas & M. Palacios, endemic to Costa Rica, is described. It differs from P. decurrens C. Presl in basal segments reduced to 1/5-1/2 of the next segment (vs. 2/3-3/4), basal pinnae not bifurcated (vs. bifurcated), pinnae apex mucronate (vs. acuminate) and segment apex undulate (vs. dentate). It differs from Pteris consanguinea in the elliptic pinnae (vs. oblong), two segments reduced on the base (vs. lack), segments entire to undulate (vs. dentate), basal pinnae without basiscopic lobes (vs. with basiscopic lobes) and segment apex entire to undulate (vs. dentate).  相似文献

Three new species of the genus BrevitobriusTsalolikhin, 1981 are described. Brevitobrilus glandulatus n. sp. is characterized by conspicuous sphincter between pars dilatata and uterus; two pairs of vaginal glands; spicules having elliptical capitula with small proximal stiffening piece; proximally-arcuate gubernaculum; S3 and S4 smaller than other supplements; S6 out of spicular range and 57-60 micropapillae. Brevitobrilus dimorphicus n. sp. is diagnosed by sexual dimorphism in labial sensilla and amphids; thick-walled rectum with a diverticulum protruding into intestinal lumen and males with boat-shaped spicules and S6 occasionally slightly smaller than other supplements. Brevitobrilus allahabadensis n. sp. possesses large amphids of 28-33% of corresponding labial diameter in both sexes; vagina and uterus with muscular, plicate walls; well developed sphincter between vas deferens and ejaculatory duct; capitulate spicules with sloping ventral and angular dorsal walls; S3, S4 and S6 smaller than other supplements, S6 close to cloaca and 28-37 micropapillae. The relationships of the species of genus Brevitobrilus have been assessed using morphological characters subjected to parsimony and a non cladistic key to identification of species is given.  相似文献

A new species of Acanthocheilonema, Acanthocheilonema sabanicolae n. sp., is described from the subcutaneous tissues of the savanna armadillo (Dasypus sabanicola) in Venezuela. The adults (females 25-30.6 mm long by 61-78 micron wide; males 10.9-15.3 mm long by 42-44 micron wide) and the microfilariae (112-131 micron long by 3-5 micron wide) are the smallest within the genus. The microfilaria, a skin dweller, assumes a characteristic C-shaped curve, when fixed in 2% formalin, which serves to distinguish A. sabanicolae from others in the genus. Moreover, the spicules are notably smaller than any others in the Acanthocheilonema. Acanthocheilonema sabanicolae is the first species in this genus to be described from edentates, and, along with A. reconditum of dogs and A. pricei of opossums, is the third species of Acanthocheilonema to be reported from South America. Morphological features, vectors, and vertebrate hosts of the genus Acanthocheilonema are reviewed.  相似文献

Pectinospirura argentata Wehr, 1933, Skrjabinoclava andersoni n. sp. and acuariid larvae, collected from the proventriculus of the kelp gull Larus dominicanus from coastal Buenos Aires, Argentina, are described. This is the first record of the genus Pectinospirura Wehr, 1933 from South America and from the kelp gull. The measurements of both sexes are given because there are some differences with previously described specimens of P. argentata; the male is smaller with smaller spicules and the female is larger with smaller eggs. Skrjabinoclava andersoni n. sp. can be distinguished for all other species in the genus by the morphology of both spicules and by the cuticle which is not inflated anteriorly. This genus is reported for the first time in the kelp gull and from Argentina.  相似文献

Parapharyngodon kenyaensis n. sp. and Thelandros samburuensis n. sp. (Nematoda: Pharyngodonidae) from the large intestine of the agamid lizard (Agama caudospina) are described and illustrated. Parapharyngodon kenyaensis n. sp. is the 41st species assigned to the genus, and it differs from other species in that genus by possessing 3 pairs of caudal papillae, cloacal lip adornment, and spicules of 112-120 microm in length. Thelandros samburuensis n. sp. is the 31st species assigned to the genus, and it differs from other species in that genus by possessing swollen posterior annulations, 6 caudal papillae, a smooth anterior cloacal lip, and spicules of 43-52 microm in length. In addition to the 2 new nematode species, Abbreviata ortleppi (Nematoda: Physalopteridae) and Strongyluris ornata (Nematoda: Heterakidae) were found.  相似文献

Six species of the family Heligmonellidae (Nematoda: Trichostrongyloidea), including 3 new species, are recorded from rodents of the subfamily Murinae in the Ryukyu Archipelago and Taiwan. Heligmonoides ikeharai n. sp. from Tokudaia osimensis muenninki on Mt. Yonaha, Okinawa Island, is characterized by extremely long spicules and hypertrophied ridges in the prevulval region. Heligmonoides taiwanensis n. sp. from Apodemus draco on Mt. Alishan, Taiwan, is distinguished from other members of the genus in having a markedly asymmetrical bursa and stout bursal rays. Heligmonoides alishanensis n. sp. from Niviventer confucianus on Mt. Alishan differs from the allied forms in lacking hypertrophied ridges at the level of the middle of the spicules and in having longer spicules and a smaller body. Nippostrongylus sp. from N. confucianus on Mt. Alishan resembles Nippostrongylus brasiliensis but is distinguishable in that the externolateral ray is almost the same length as the lateroventral ray in the left lobe, and the fused tips of the spicules are thin and straight. Heligmonoides ryukyensis from Mus caroli and Orientostrongylus tenorai from Bandicota indica are first recorded from Taiwan. Heligmonellid nematodes parasitic in wild rodents in these areas are considered to have been introduced with their hosts from the mainlands of China and Japan through land connections in the Pleistocene.  相似文献

A new species, Thelastoma euscorpii, (Thelastomatidae: Oxyuroidea) is described from Euscorpius italicus (Chactidae) on Pag Island (Kvarner Islands), Croatia. The new taxon differs from all other species of Thelastoma in having a cuticle with fine transverse striae. The excretory pore of the female specimens is located in a prebulbar position, the tail is short and subfiliform (5.5-9.3% of the total body length), and the eggs are small (47-52×24-29 m). The males have a short oesophagus and no spicules. This is the first nematode species found in scorpions (Scorpionidea).  相似文献

Lindernia kinmenensis Y. S. Liang, C. H. Chen, & C. L. Tasi sp. nov. from Kinmen (Taiwan) is described. The new species belongs to section Torenioides and is most similar to L. crustacea. It differs from the latter by the following characters: calyx pubescent between the ridges (vs pubescent on ridges), with (2)3(4) bristles on the ridge near the apex of the calyx‐lobes (vs without such bristles), corolla shorter, 6–8 mm long (vs 7–11 mm long) and pale purple (vs purple or blue), posterior theca with obtuse (vs acute) apex. This species is usually found in sandy wetlands. A line drawing, colour photos and SEM micrographs of pollen and seed as aids for identification are provided.  相似文献

Oswaldocruzia belenensis n. sp. (Strongylida: Molineidae) from the small intestine of Chaunus marinus (L.) from Belém, Pará State, Brazil is described and illustrated by light and scanning electron microscopy. Oswaldocruzia belenensis n. sp. is a neotropical species of this genus, harboring caudal bursa Type II, spicules divided in 3 branches, i.e., a blade, shoe, and fork. The blade is divided in 4 points, of which at least 2 are bifurcated. Cervical alae are absent; there is a simple cephalic vesicle and synlophe with low ridges perpendicular to the body without chitinous supports. The most closely related species are O. bonsi and O. lescurei. Oswaldocruzia belenensis n. sp. differs from O. lescurei and O. bonsi by the number and location of cephalic papillae, rays 2-3 and 5-6 running parallel and slightly separated, ray 6 not overlapping ray 8, and body structure morphometry. Oswaldocruzia belenensis n sp. also differs from O. lescurei by the discontinuity of the longitudinal ridges, the number of subdivisions of the blade, and the absence of extra processes at the bifurcation level of the fork of the spicules. The new species differs from O. bonsi by male and female body dimensions, the symmetry of the caudal bursa, dimension and subdivisions of the spicules without extra processes of the fork, 2 extra processes at the distal division of the blade, and location of ray 7 at the anterior margin of the cloacal aperture. Oswaldocruzia belenensis n. sp. represents the 82nd species assigned to the genus.  相似文献

In the course of a revision of species of Haemonchus Cobb, 1898 (Nematoda), commonly referred to as large stomach worms and significant pathogens of ruminants, a new species was discovered in the grey rhebuck Pelea capreolus, and the bontebok Damaliscus pygarthus, in South Africa. The new species, Haemonchus horaki, was previously reported as a long-spicule form of H. contortus (Rudolphi, 1803) Ransom, 1911. The new species, compared with H. contortus, can be distinguished by significantly longer spicules (555-615 microm vs. 383-475 microm); a synlophe with fewer ridges (26 vs. 30 in the region of the posterior part of the esophagus) that extend more posteriorly (within 1 mm of the copulatory bursa in males and postvulvar in females, vs. 2/3 to 3/4 of prebursal and prevulvar lengths); and an asymmetrical dorsal lobe with a long dorsal ray divided for more than half of its length, forming 2 branches of unequal length (vs. a dorsal ray divided for less than half of its length and forming 2 equal branches in H. contortus).  相似文献

A new species of cestode, Yorkeria xiamenensis n. sp., is described from the spiral valve of Chiloscyllium plagiosum from coastal waters of Xiamen, China. It is the first record of Yorkeria in China. The new species is distinguished from all other species of Yorkeria by its possession of the following characters: the length of specimens, 15.8 mm; 63-95 proglottids; 71-85 testes per proglottid; large medial and lateral hooks in scolex; and eggs with 2 long polar filaments. The new species most closely resembles Y. parva Southwell, 1927 in the follicular vitellaria and similar ratio of lateral-to-medial hooks (1:2.15 vs. 1:2-2.5). However, Y. xiamenensis n. sp. has a longer strobila, more proglottids, a smaller ratio of pedicel to cephalic peduncle, larger hooks, more testes, and a different host.  相似文献
