A new genus and species, Espanoderus barbarae gen. et sp. nov., belonging to the family Tanyderidae (Diptera, Nematocera), is described from Lower Cretaceous amber of Spain (Álava amber). The new genus is the smallest member of Tanyderinae and the first member of the family from the Álava amber. The position of the new genus in a phylogenetic tree of Tanyderidae is presented. http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:EC3284BA-C07F-48AC-8AF5-4F9D2EF4EA6C 相似文献

In this paper, a revision of tracks referred to as Chelichnus tazelwürmi is reported. The performed analysis, consisting of a holistic approach by means of a mainly morphological analysis, and a secondarily functional one, led to the proposal of a new ichnogenus, named as Contiichnus tazelwurmi. The three dimensional morphology of the tracks allows for the inference of a complex cycle of locomotion by the trackmakers. The tracks were formed in the main phases (i.e. touch-down, weight-bearing and kick-off) by different axes of body load and transference, indicating that the whole fore autopod was involved in the cycle of locomotion and actively contacted the substrate, while for the hind autopod the functional prevalence was markedly centro-medial. Some track features suggest a therapsid-grade synapsid as potential trackmaker. However, the reconstructed autopodial structure does not correlate with known autopods from the Late Permian body fossil record. These observations stress the importance of tetrapod ichnology studies in improving knowledge in the field of vertebrate palaeontology. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:B4EB4D42-1A3B-48EC-B83F-6942F741AF30 http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:B4EB4D42-1A3B-48EC-B83F-6942F741AF30 相似文献

A new genus and species of belid weevils, Pleurambus strongylus Poinar and Legalov, n. gen., n. sp. (Coleoptera: Belidae) in the tribe Allocorynini is described from Dominican amber. Belid fossils are quite rare and the new species is the first fossil member of the family from the Neotropics. This discovery suggests that belid diversity in Hispaniola during the Tertiary was higher than at present since no extant belids have been reported from the West Indies. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:DF79FF39-634D-4BD7-AD0B-F5FB3BBE1081 相似文献

The new species Quinquelaophonte aurantius sp.nov. is described, based on specimens collected in Portobello Bay, New Zealand. The species is distinguishable for having long fine setules in the anal operculum distal edge, a breadth ratio of caudal rami length above 3.5, and a rudimentary antenna abexopodal spine. This new species differentiates from Q. parasigmoides and Q. wellsi on the following autapomorphs; short spine-like outer seta in segment 2 of females P3 endopod and the partial reduction of setae in spines from male P3 and P4, longer V-shaped caudal rami, an almost non-existent terminal portion of the antenna exopod with short lateral setae. Phylogenetic analyses demonstrate the position of Quinquelaophonte within the family Laophontidae. The ability of beetles to form defensive spheres is a rare trait and confined to representatives in the families Clambidae, Leiodidae and Hybosoridae. However, the most compact spheres are formed by members of the Neotropical genus Ceratocanthus (Ceratocanthinae: Hybosoridae). A representative in Dominican amber described as Ceratocanthus emarginatus sp.n. differs from all known members of the genus by its unique notched clypeus. Additional specimens of at least two other species suggest that these sphere-forming beetles were fairly diverse in the Dominican amber forest. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:4329D0DA-57BD-4CEA-9464-ABD5D1577FC9 相似文献

A new species of the dipteran family Sciomyzidae is described from Iran: Limnia kassebeeri sp. n., which is similar to L. unguicornis (Scopoli, 1763) and L. paludicola Elberg, 1965, but differs from them by the reticulate pattern on the anal cell, the presence of one small seta on the anepisternum, in addition to fine hairs and the features of the genitalia. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:FCD0AD91-E21D-44CA-9D11-90DE5A92F52D 相似文献

Pomatoschistus anatoliae sp. n. is described from estuary of Göksu River on the Mediterranean coast of the Anatolia. It is distinguished from its congeners by the suborbital papilla pattern, meristic, and ecological features. DNA barcoding based on COI sequences revealed that there is a high nucleotide sequence divergence to the nearest neighbour. Kimura’s two parameter distances between P. anatoliae sp. n. and other species of Pomatoschistus and Knipowitchia have found to be at least 5.1%. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:4592CF50-07B5-4C25-892F-5D009057675B 相似文献

A new pectinodontid species collected from sunken wood in the East China Sea off Zhejiang Province, China, is described and assigned to the genus Pectinodonta Dall, 1882. This new species, Pectinodonta mazuae n. sp., has a medium sized shell with a fine sculpture; shell width about 72%–75% of shell length, height about 61%–66% of length, and each lateral tooth has 16 or 17 cusps. These features may be used to distinguish the new species from its congeners. http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:4B3D491F-868D-4F9A-8CC9-005829BF691E 相似文献

In a study of the fishes of the Euphrates River (Persian Gulf basin) three species of Squalius belonging to the cephalus-group were found: The Tohma population was identified as S. seyhanensis and the Merzimen and Hilvan populations as S. berak. The comparison of 28 metric and 5 meristic parameters and morphological characters showed that the populations of the northern Euphrates River drainages are distinct and belong to a hitherto unnamed species. We describe it here as Squalius semae sp. n. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:D195B69C-C6CB-4DEB-B85D-5B695F917CE5 相似文献
