Early in 1927, Prof. J. S. Lee erected the genus Boultonia, the genotype ofwhich is Boultonia willsi. In the same publication, he described another speciesBoultonia rawi from the Penchi Series of the Moscovian age. This latter specieshas been afterwards transferred by various authors to Wedekindellina. Later in1934, Prof. S. Chen described a new species of Boultonia, B. cylindrica, from the  相似文献

The BIONIS network was set up in spring 2002 by Prof. George Jeronimidis, Prof. Julian Vincent and Phil Sheppard. Membership is now over 300, with members from academia and industry in more than 40 countries. The mission of the network is to promote the application of Biomimetics in products and services and its use in education and training. It is currently supported by Swedish Biomimetics 3000 and hosted by the University of Reading.[第一段]  相似文献

In 1950,some interesting specimens of small trilobites have been forwardedthe writer for examination by Prof.C.C.Y(?) which form the subject of the presentcommunication. The specimens were collected by Prof.Y(?) from the PisoliticLimestone Series near Fonglingshan,Lingchuan-Hsien,Kwangsi province. The trilobite fossils were found in association with some ostracods and smallChonetes. The ostracods have been recently identified by Y.T.Hou as Richterinasubstriatula Hou,R.subhemisphaerica Hou and Healdia lingchuanensis Houassigning to the Upper Devonian age.It is interesting that the evidence of thetrilobites points also to the Upper Devonian age.  相似文献

I am indeed very honored and delighted when Prof.Pingkai Ouyang asked me to write a preface article forthe new Chinese Journal of Bioprocess Engineering. Although,as a chemical engineer,I have been working in the petroleum and chemical industries for fortyyears,I did have the opportunity of conducting research and development work in the field of biotechnology forseveral years. My research was in both biochemical and biomedical areas.Because of this experience,I appre-ciate very much the importance of biotechnology and bioprocessing.Being familiar with this field,I feel the ex-citement and high anticipation about this new Journal.I wish to offer to Prof.Ouyang and his staff editors my  相似文献

In 1956 Prof.Y.C.Sun and comrade Y.Z.Hung examined the graptolite fauna collectedby the 435 Expedition of the Geological Bureau of Central South China,Ministry of Geology, from the Wufeng Shale(late Upper Ordovician)of Chu-Chi district, northwestern Hupeh.Theyhanded over to me for study two particular specimens chosen from the collection. These twospecimens belong to one and the same species, and are preserved as mere carbonaceous films inblack shale. The thecae are evidently of the Climacograptid type, though the specimens are not  相似文献

The China-UK Systems held during June 20-21 Biology Workshop 2005 was in the National Science Park of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. It was organized by the Institute of Bioinformatics, Zhejiang University, and was initiated by Prof. Dr. Jun Zhu (Zhejiang University) and Prof. Dr. John Findlay (University of Leeds, UK). The workshop was part of the program called UK-China Partners in Science, a one-year campaign that was initiated by the British government to explore more collaborations between UK and China on science and technology. It was attended also by a representative of this program, Mr. Frank Yuan, senior science & innovation officer. The idea of the workshop was to bring together experts with specialists in systems biology in order to promote the "natural partnership" between scientists from the two countries. The most important items of systcms biology considered at the workshop were: (1) New technologies and advances in systems biology; (2) Research developments in genomics and proteomics; (3) New methodologies and software in computational biology; (4) Research collaboration on systems biology between China and UK.  相似文献

This paper is dedicated as a token of homage and gratitude to Prof. Mu. En-zhi, the nestor in the field of graptolite studies, who introduced us chitinozoan studies with constant supports in many ways, and who died on 8th April, 1987. The Palaeontological Society of China has decided to publish a specieal volume in memory of this outstanding scientist.  相似文献

The Nanpanjiang Limestone of eastern Yunnan has long been known as one of theimportant Devonian beds in South China. It was first proposed by Prof.Y.C.Sun in1943,and tentatively included in the upper member of the Miaokaoshan formation ofEarly Devonian age with Gypidula pseudogleata Hall as a leading fossil.Since thenmost geologists and palaeontologists have followed Sun's assignment, while few othershave held it to be Early Middle Devonian. At the type locality near Poshi districtalong the Nanpanjiang Valley the Nanpanjiang Limestone is composed of yellowish-greyor dark grey limestone with an approximate thickness of 40—70 meters, and is overlainby the Bothriolepis-bearing beds of Lunghuashan formation.  相似文献
