Summary Under intermediate deepwater condition with water depths of 15–35 cm during most of the crop growth period, sulphur coated urea and urea supergranule placement was superior to prilled urea in increasing the relative uptake and grain yield (23–25%) of rice. A semi-tall variety (CR 1016) responded better to the nitrogen application than a tall variety (CR 1030).The crop fertilized with N produced more number of tillers and grain yield than the unfertilized crop under complete submergence for 6 days at seedling establishement stage (8 days after transplanting) followed by waterlogging of 25±5 cm throughout the crop growth period. Application of phosphorus together with nitrogen increased the grain yield (9–14%) over nitrogen alone. Crop fertilized with these two nutrients (NP) increased their uptake and yield components.  相似文献

In glasshouse and field experiments the source-sink relations of the main shoot of plants of spring barley were modified by tiller removal and tiller defoliation. Decreasing competition by tiller removal promoted the growth of the residual main shoot and its component parts, and the earlier tillers were removed the greater was the effect. Stem dry weight was increased four-fold in the glasshouse by early tiller removal and was doubled in the field experiment. The grain yield of the main shoot ear was increased by 26 – 30% by tiller removal compared with tillering control plants and this was due to larger grains in all spikelet positions. On the other hand increasing competition by regular tiller defoliation had relatively little effect on the growth and development of the main shoot in the glasshouse study, but in the field the main shoot grain yield was reduced by 10% compared with the control. The main effect of tiller defoliation was on the development of tillers. In the glasshouse tillers survived repeated defoliation, continued to be produced, and the majority produced grain but with fewer and smaller grains per ear than in control plants. Tiller growth was supported by the import of assimilate from the main shoot and this was accompanied by an increase in the photosynthetic rate of the main shoot leaves. In the field all defoliated tillers died within 4 wk. These responses are discussed in terms of the physiological interrelations between the main shoot and tillers.  相似文献

A field experiment in collaboration with a private textile industry (Noor Fatima Fabrics Private (Ltd.), Faisalabad) was conducted to evaluate the effect of disposed water from bleaching unit, printing unit and end drain for improving growth and yield of wheat under saline sodic soil. Textile waste water along with canal water (control) was applied with and without liquid NPK fertilizer. The application of liquid NPK fertilizer with end drain waste water increased plant height, spike length, flag leaf length, root length, number of tillers (m?2), number of fertile tillers (m?2), 1000 grain weight, grain yield, straw yield and biological yield up to 21, 20, 20, 44, 17, 20, 14, 44, 40 and 41%, respectively compared to canal water (control). Similarly, the NPK uptake in grain was increased up to 15, 30 and 28%, respectively by liquid fertilizer treated end drain water as compare to canal water with liquid fertilizer. Moreover, concentration of different heavy metals particularly Cu, Cr, Pb and Cd was decreased in grains by application of waste water along with liquid NPK. The result may imply that waste water application along with liquid-NPK could be a novel approach for improving growth and yield of wheat in saline sodic soils.  相似文献

To clarify whether new vegetative tillers that develop aroundanthesis in aLolium perenne seed crop can depress seed yields,the possible competition for carbohydrates or nitrogen betweenthe seeds and new tillers that develop after the onset of anthesiswas investigated. In two greenhouse experiments the number oftillers per plant was varied by a combination of cutting, nitrogensupply, light quality and light intensity treatments. Two genotypeswith different tillering rates were used. Seed yield per earwas largely independent of the number of tillers and regrowthof cut tillers after the onset of anthesis. It increased inone genotype, but only under low light and a reduced nutrientavailability, and no new tillers were produced. The amount ofwater-soluble carbohydrates in the reproductive tillers increasedin both clones under these conditions. Under more favourableconditions the increased tillering rate and regrowth of tillersafter cutting did not adversely affect seed yield per ear ineither clone, although carbohydrate reserves in the floweringtillers were sharply reduced. Tiller removal increased the concentrationand amount of nitrogen in the remaining flowering tillers, irrespectiveof the amount of regrowth. It is concluded that competitionfor carbohydrates or nitrogen between the seeds and new vegetativetillers that develop after the onset of anthesis, is not a majorcause of the low and variable seed yields inL. perenne seedcrops. The effects of exposure to SO2 (55 m–3) on the growthand sulphur nutrition of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenneL.) cv. S23 were examined using a system of specially constructedgrowth chambers. The plants were grown in soil with two ratesof added nitrogen, either with or without added sulphate. Theywere harvested twice during the exposure period of 85 d. The high rate of added nitrogen gave a four-fold increase inthe yield of plants given added sulphate but resulted in sulphurdeficiency, with reduced yield and number of tillers, when nosulphate was given. Exposure to SO2 alleviated the effects ofdeficiency but was without effect on the yield of plants givensulphate. With the low rate of added nitrogen, the yield ofplants and the number of tillers were unaffected by the additionof sulphate to the soil or of SO2 to the air. The only indicationof possible injury through exposure of these plants to SO2 wasa small increase in the proportion of dead leaves at the secondharvest. Analysis of the leaves for total S and sulphate-S gave valuesconsistent with sulphur deficiency and its alleviation throughexposure to SO2; the contents of 0?045% S and 42 parts 10–6sulphate-S in deficient plants were raised to 0?102% and 153parts 10–6 respectively. The organic-S content of theleaves was always increased through exposure to SO2. There wasno evidence that exposure to SO2 increased the ‘transpirationcoefficient’ for plants having an adequate supply of sulphurfrom the soil.  相似文献

Fertilizer nitrogen did not delay tuber initiation by the potato variety King Edward in the field, but slowed the early growth of tubers. Later, N hastened tuber growth and the largest amounts prolonged it. Leaf and stem growth were increased by N from an early stage. Leaf area index (L) reached maxima of 2.5 to 3.0 with the largest amounts of N, and 1.0 with no nitrogen: L decreased after late July, faster with increased N, and only the largest amount prolonged the life of the haulm. N increased leaf area duration (D) by up to 125% in both years. D was 21% greater in 1964 than 1963, and net assimilation rate in August and September was larger; consequently mean yield was 50% more in 1964. Uptake of nitrogen and N % of dry matter were increased by increasing nitrogen. The N % of tuber dry weight remained constant or increased slightly from about 2 weeks after tuber formation, while N % of the leaves and stems decreased rapidly, and much N was transferred from tops to tubers. The 1964 results suggest that tuber growth depends on continued nitrogen uptake by the plant. P and K had small effects compared with those of N. K increased leaf area duration by 9% in 1963 and 3% in 1964, and yield by 11 and 8% respectively. P increased leaf area duration by 17% and yield by 9% in 1964. K had very small effects until the end of the season, when it prolonged the period of growth. P increased growth rates of all parts of the plant up to 4 weeks from emergence, and the differences in dry weight at that time persisted to maturity but did not increase.  相似文献

选用玉米品种登海661和郑单958为材料,研究了高产条件下施氮时期对夏玉米产量、氮素利用率、氮代谢相关酶及抗氧化酶活性的影响.结果表明:拔节期一次性施氮不利于夏玉米产量提高和氮素积累,分次施氮且增施花粒肥显著提高了植株和籽粒的吸氮量,并提高了籽粒产量.拔节期、10叶期、花后10d按2∶4∶4施氮,登海661产量最高可达14123.0kg· hm-2;基肥、拔节期、10叶期、花后10 d按1∶2∶5∶2施氮,郑单958产量最高可达14517.1 kg· hm-2,这2种施氮方式较拔节期一次性施氮分别增产14.5%和17.5%.花前分次施氮可以显著提高开花期硝酸还原酶活性;登海661和郑单958在花后0~42 d中,施氮处理的谷氨酰胺合成酶、谷氨酸合成酶、谷氨酸脱氢酶活性分别平均提高了32.6%、47.1%、50.4%和14.5%、61.8%、25.6%,减缓了其下降趋势;超氧化物歧化酶、过氧化氢酶活性提高了22.0%、36.6%和13.4%、62.0%,丙二醛含量显著降低.在高产条件下,分次施氮且适当增加花粒肥施入比例可以提高氮代谢相关酶活性,延缓植株衰老,促进氮素吸收利用,进而提高籽粒产量.  相似文献

Growth patterns were investigated for Eriophorum vaginatum tussocks from disturbed and undisturbed tussock tundra at two sites in Alaska. Total basal area of tussocks decreased with increased cryoturbation but mean basal area per tussock did not. Flowering was observed in tussocks of significantly smaller size on disturbed compared to undisturbed tundra. For tussocks with < 10% cover by shrubs and moss, number of tillers per tussock was linearly related to tussock diameter in most disturbed and undisturbed sites. Exceptions occurred in an area that had been bladed with a bulldozer 7 yr before our survey where tiller number increased as the square of diameter and in an area with much frost activity where tiller number was not emulated with diameter. The ratio of daughter tillers to adult tillers decreased with diameter in disturbed tundra, whereas the trend was less pronounced in undisturbed tundra.
Microsuccession in undisturbed tussock tundra was investigated by sampling tussocks with different amounts of shrub and moss cover for number of daughter tillers per adult tiller, weight per tiller, percent nitrogen, and percent phosphorus. Small tussocks without cover by other species and large, partially covered tussocks were not significantly different by any measures, but tussocks that were almost completely buried had significantly (p < 0.05) lower values of tillering index, weight per tiller, and percent phosphorus.  相似文献

通过田间试验研究了不同氮肥运筹方式对砂田西瓜产量、品质及氮素和干物质积累与转运的影响.结果表明: 基肥氮过低或过高均不利于砂田西瓜苗期生长,伸蔓期或膨果期不施氮肥则限制了西瓜“源”或“库”的形成,在相同的施氮量水平下,T4(30%基肥+30%伸蔓肥+40%膨瓜肥)和T6\[100%基肥+长效复合肥添加剂(NAM)\]处理较传统施肥模式T1(30%基肥+70%伸蔓肥)西瓜坐果后茎叶干物质和氮素积累量显著降低,而果实干物质和氮素积累量显著增加.其中,T4处理的氮素运转率和氮素贡献率分别达到33.6%和12.0%,T4和T6处理的氮素收获指数、氮肥偏生产力和氮肥利用率较传统施肥模式T1分别显著提高14.1%和12.7%、11.6%和12.5%、5.3%和8.7%.T4和T6处理较T1西瓜分别增产11.6%和12.5%,可溶性糖含量分别显著提高16.5%和11.7%,有效酸度分别提高4.5%和2.8%,糖酸比分别提高19.4%和13.4%,Vc含量分别提高35.6%和19.0%.因此,T4和T6处理为砂田西瓜高产优质的较优氮肥运筹模式,若减轻砂田施肥难度,延长砂田使用年限,可采用100%基肥+NAM(T6)的施肥方式.  相似文献

Summary Lowland rice (RD 3) was cultivated in containers of clay soil submerged with 5 cm water under controlled conditions in the phytotron. Deep placement of urea supergranules 5 cm in the soil significantly enhanced both plant growth and fertilizer efficiency when the plants were cultivated under high light intensity (70 Wm–2). At the highest urea level grain yield increased 119% above the control level, while growth and fertilizer efficiency was not as high when deep placement of calcium nitrate was used.The application of urea prills and calcium nitrate (18.4g Nm–2) in two split doses on the soil surface increased grain yield as much as 91% above the control level. At the lower nitrogen concentration (9.2 g N m–2), the urea prills were more efficient than calcium nitrate as indicated by the grain yield. The height of those plants fertilized by surface application was affected by the concentration and not the type of fertilizer. The number of tillers, however, was significantly higher on urea fertilized plants.When the rice plants were cultivated under low light intensity 930 Wm–2), neither the nitrogen fertilizers nor the method of application had a significant effect on growth and yield.  相似文献

为阐明小麦宽幅播种的增产增效效应,于2015-2016年小麦生育季在泰安、兖州试验点分别采用宽幅播种和常规条播两种播种方式,研究了播种方式对冬小麦‘泰农18’产量和氮素吸收利用的影响.结果表明: 播种方式、试验点及两者的互作效应显著影响冬小麦产量、氮素利用率及其相关指标.在两试验点,相对于常规条播,宽幅播种均可通过提高单株与群体分蘖数和单株成穗数来提高单位面积穗数,实现增产,在泰安、兖州点分别增产22.5%和15.4%;宽幅播种均可通过促进小麦氮素吸收积累、提高氮素吸收效率来提高氮素利用率,在泰安、兖州点氮素吸收效率分别提高27.7%和17.5%,氮素利用率分别提高22.5%和15.4%.泰安点宽幅播种的增效效应尤为显著.生产上采用宽幅播种方式可有效提高冬小麦产量和氮素利用率,实现小麦高产高效栽培.  相似文献

A pot and a lysimeter experiment were carried out to study the effects of inoculation of the roots of rice seedlings with R. capsulatus in combination with graded levels of nitrogen (N) fertilizer on growth and yield of the rice variety Giza 176. Inoculation increased all the measured growth parameters and yield attributes, but the statistically significant differences at all N levels tested were only those for plant dry weight, number of productive tillers, grain and straw yields. The absolute increases in grain yield of the pot experiment due to inoculation were 0.63, 0.93 and 1.22 ton ha–1 at 0, 47.6 and 95.2 kg N ha–1, respectively. The results suggest that inoculation along with 47.6 kg N ha–1 can save 50% of the nitrogen fertilizer needed for optimum G176 rice crop. However, inoculation along with 95.2 kg N ha–1 can increase grain yield by about 1.2 ton ha–1. This is probably the first reported evidence of a beneficial effect of phototrophic purple nonsulphur bacteria on rice growth and yield under flooded soil conditions.  相似文献

A 3-yr field experiment was conducted to evaluate the tolerance and compensatory response of rice (Oryza sativa L.) to injury caused by sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (F.), as affected by cultivar (Cocodrie, Francis, and Jefferson), stage of crop growth during which the injury occurred (third tiller stage, panicle differentiation stage, and heading stage), and sugarcane borer density. The proportion of rice tillers with sugarcane borer injury (leaf and leaf sheath injury and/or stem injury) was lower when injury occurred at the third tiller stage (0.05) than at panicle differentiation (0.19) and heading (0.18). When injury occurred at the two latter stages, both the proportion of tillers with injury and the proportion of tillers with stem injury were negatively correlated with rainfall. Rainfall resulted in dislodgement and mortality of sugarcane borer eggs and larvae before the larvae entered the stems. Rice plant density in this study (111.1 plants/m2) was higher than recorded for previous research on rice compensation using potted rice or conducted in low-density hill production systems (26.7-51.3 plants/m2). Two mechanisms of within-plant tolerance/compensation were observed. Stem injured plants produced approximately 0.69 more tillers than uninjured plants, whereas tillers with leaf and leaf sheath injury produced larger panicles, up to 39.5 and 21.0% heavier than uninjured tillers, when injury occurred at third tiller stage and at panicle differentiation, respectively. Rice yield was not reduced with up to 23% injured tiller and up to 10% injured stems at the third tiller stage, 42% injured tillers and 17% injured stems at panicle differentiation, and 28% injured tillers and 14% injured stems at heading. Significant between-plant compensation was not detected, suggesting competition between adjacent plants is not significantly reduced by injury. Our results suggest that rice can tolerate and/or compensate for a level of stem borer injury previously considered to be economically damaging.  相似文献

灌浆期高温胁迫通常导致小麦籽粒产量降低、品质变差.为了探索有效缓解高温胁迫不利影响的有效措施,在大田条件下,以济麦20为试验材料,运用后期高温棚增温的方法,研究了氮、硫肥与灌浆后期高温对小麦籽粒产量和品质的影响.结果表明:高温处理后小麦千粒质量、籽粒产量显著降低(19.7%~28.3%),蛋白质含量升高,蛋白质组分中不溶性谷蛋白含量下降,可溶性谷蛋白含量上升,面团形成时间和稳定时间缩短;氮肥追施比例由50%增加到70%,非高温处理的籽粒产量无显著变化,不溶性谷蛋白质含量和谷蛋白聚合指数(不溶性谷蛋白含量/可溶性谷蛋白含量)升高,面团形成时间和稳定时间延长;高温处理的千粒质量和籽粒产量因氮肥追施比例提高而提高(2.07%~3.58%),面团形成时间和稳定时间缩短;不论高温处理还是非高温处理,与追施硫肥相比,硫肥基施提高籽粒产量、谷蛋白聚合指数,延长面团形成时间和稳定时间;为了有效缓解灌浆后期高温对小麦籽粒产量和品质的不利影响,硫肥基施、氮肥施用基追比50%:50%是较为适宜的施肥模式.  相似文献

Gibberellic acid3 (GA3) modification of some growth and physiologic effects of paclobutrazol (PP333) was studied by applying PP333 alone and in combination with GA3 at the tillering stage of wheat. Results showed that GA3 weakened the effect of PP333 on tillering and shortening the plant, increased the dry matter accumulation of different tillers, improved plant nitrogen metabolism by favoring nitrogen translocation into tillers at late growth stage, and stimulated tiller development. All of these reduced the difference in spike weight among tillers and the main stem. Compared with control, there were more spikes per plant and fewer grain per spike in the PP333 treatment, but all yield components developed positively in the treatment consisting of the mixture of GA3 and PP333. During the first year of growth of timothy, variations in nitrogen supply affected the number of tillers and leaves, leaf area and dry weight, but had little influence on relative growth and net assimilation rates, except at very low levels of nitrogen. Differentiation and ear emergence occurred slightly earlier at high nitrogen and ear length was increased; there was also an increase in the proportion of fertile tillers among the total number produced after the first few weeks of tillering. The effect of nitrogen supply on the number, dry weight and ear length of early primary tillers was small but became larger in later tillers. Irrespective of the level of nitrogen supply, tillers had particularly high net assimilation rates during the first few weeks following their appearance.  相似文献
