The tolerance of altitude-acclimatized (18,000 ft 4 wk) and unacclimatized rats to exercise at 5 degrees was determined. Fewer unacclimatized than acclimatized rats became fatigued during 9 hr of exercise in the cold. Normal body temperatures were maintained in both groups during 9 hr in the cold at rest, but after exercise unacclimatized rats became mildly hypothermic (body temperature 35 degrees) and acclimatized rats severely hypothermic (body temperature 27.9 degrees). Polycythemia (hematocrit 69) was produced during the altitude acclimatization. Altitude-acclimatized rats developed more severe hypoglycemia and lower liver glycogen and serum lactic acid concentrations after exercise than did controls. No pathological changes were found in resting altitude-acclimatized rats, but after exercise in the cold, a higher percentage of acclimatized than unacclimatized rats developed focal myocardial necrosis within 4 days. Reduced exercise tolerance is attributed to severe hypothermia with associated decreased metabolism, polycythemia, hypoglycemia, and a higher incidence of pathological changes in the cardiac and striated muscles.  相似文献

Blood samples were collected from 118 white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) shot on the Fort Riley Military Installation in northeastern Kansas. Values for these deer for hematocrit, glucose, alkaline phosphatase, uric acid, total protein, albumin, and calcium were within the ranges reported in previous studies for undrugged white-tailed deer. Abnormally high concentrations of serum glutamic oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT) and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) were attributed to general trauma and tissue damage caused by shooting the deer. Fawns had higher concentrations of alkaline phosphatase than adults and had lower concentrations in winter than at other times of the year. Serum urea nitrogen (SUN) concentrations fluctuated seasonally. Elevated concentrations of SUN in adult males killed in December were attributed to an increased catabolism of muscle protein caused by low dietary intake and high energy requirements during the rut. Cholesterol concentrations varied seasonally without regard to age or sex.  相似文献

X-ray fluorescence and atomic absorption spectrometry were used to measure the concentrations of zinc, copper, and magnesium in the heart, liver, skeletal muscle, and kidney following isoproterenol-induced myocardial necrosis in male albino rats. Serum activities of lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), creatine phosphokinase (CPK), and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) were also measured. There was depletion of myocardial zinc, copper, and magnesium on d 1, followed by an uptake of all these elements on d 2. The liver showed a significant uptake of magnesium, along with depletion of copper. There was no change in the kidney and skeletal muscle concentrations of these elements. Possible explanations for the observed changes and their therapeutic significance are presented.  相似文献

Fifty-three adult male patients with chest pain underwent treadmill exercise stress testing according to the Bruce protocol. The resting 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) and serum concentrations of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, lactic dehydrogenase creatine phosphokinase and alpha-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase were evaluated before, and at 1 and 20 hours after exercise. Twenty-eight subjects (53 percent) had a normal test result, 10 (19 percent) had ischemic ST -segment changes and anginal pain, and 15 (28 percent) were considered to have equivocal results because of an abnormal baseline ECG or the concurrent administration of cardioactive medication. In contrast to earlier reports, no significant changes in the serum enzyme values were seen in any of the three groups orin any individual subject, nor were ECG changes detected after recovery from exercise. The diagnostic evaluation of the exercise ECG must depend upon the demonstration of ischemic ST -segment changes and not upon changes in concentrations of serum enzymes.  相似文献

Aspartic transaminase, tyrosine transaminase, lactic dehydrogenase, and glutamic dehydrogenase were studied in Tetrahymena pyriformis in order to gain a better understanding of the control of the entrance and exit of metabolic intermediates to and from the major carbohydrate pathways. Glucose decreased the activity of aspartic transaminase, tyrosine transaminase and glutamic dehydrogenase but not lactic dehydrogenase. Actinomycin D (6 and 12 μg/ml) blocked the decrease in glutamic dehydrogenase and aspartic transaminase activity caused by glucose; 12 μg/ml partially prevented the decrease in tyrosine transaminase activity. Actinomycin D alone had little effect on enzyme activity. Uracil incorporation into RNA was doubled by 6 μg/ml actinomycin D, a concentration which did not alter the RNA content of the cells. At 12 μg/ml this drug caused a small decrease in RNA spec. act. Cycloheximide at 10 μg/ml, a concentration which inhibited protein synthesis by 70%, caused a three-fold increase in aspartic transaminase and a two-fold increase in glutamic dehydrogenase. In the presence of both cycloheximide and glucose, the drug effect predominated. Thus both actinomycin D and cycloheximide blocked the glucose-induced decrease in enzyme activity. These results suggest that the levels of aspartic transaminase, glutamic dehydrogenase, and probably tyrosine transaminase are regulated at least in part by a degradative control system.  相似文献

Increased serum enzyme activity in microwave-exposed rats   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Heat stable serum enzymes were studied in rats exposed to microwaves (2.45 GHz, 120 Hz amplitude modulated) 24 hr after a single 4-hr exposure or immediately after 3 and 10 exposures to 0.1 to 55 mW/cm2. In addition, stable colonic temperature at 41.5 degrees C for 30 min was maintained by microwave exposure in a group of five rats under barbiturate anesthesia. Alkaline phosphatase and lactic dehydrogenase did not increase as a result of microwave exposure. Increased serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) were noted in the 41.5 degrees C group 24 hr after exposure. A threshold body temperature for acute cellular injury after microwave exposure was demonstrated. The acute cellular injury could be in the liver. These mild elevations in the serum enzyme levels (mean +/- SE, GOT = 167 +/- 40 U/liter: GPT = 74 +/- 26 U/liter) indicated that the injuries were not accompanied by any significant sequelae in the rat. From this threshold and colonic temperature (41.5 degrees C for 30 min) in barbiturate-anesthetized, microwave-exposed rats, we derived a tentative threshold for the whole-body average absorption rate at 14 W/kg (70 mW/cm2 at 2.45 GHz for adult rats) for 4 hr. This tentative threshold is subject to changes by duration of exposure and by compounding variables influencing maintenance of body temperature.  相似文献

Rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) were exposed to IMOL S-140, a synthetic high-temperature lubricating oil composed of tri-aryl phosphates and, although no sign of acute toxicity was evident, the fish slowly developed symptoms of chronic posioning. Thus, floating food pellets were refused, the activities of glutamic oxalacetic transaminase and lactate dehydrogenase in serum were greatly elevated, and internal fatty tissues became discoloured. Plasma creatinine and inorganic phosphorus were increased in manganese oxide (Mn3O4)-treated adult male Coturnix quail, but BUN, BUN/creatinine ratio, uric acid, and total calcium were decreased. 2. Serum enzymes (alkaline phosphatase, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, and lactic dehydrogenase) were elevated in Mn3O4-treated adult male Coturnix quail, but creatine phosphokinase was not affected. 3. A copper intrauterine device (Cu-IUD) was inserted transabdominally into the uterine cavity of eight Japanese monkeys (Macaca fuscata fuscata) for 4 to 6 months, and effects on various organ functions were examined. Results showed no significant effects on the menstrual cycle length, serum levels of LH, estradiol-17 beta, progesterone or clinical biochemical data such as serum copper, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, lactic dehydrogenase, and blood urea nitrogen. Histology revealed edema and infiltration of eosinophilic leukocytes in the endometrium treated with a Cu-IUD.  相似文献

Serum levels of isocitrate dehydrogenase was determined in 12 Reye's syndrome patients and the enzyme levels were compared with serum ornithine carbamyl phosphate, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (aspartate aminotransferase), ammonia, and the stages of the disorder. Isocitrate dehydrogenase was elevated in 8 of the 12 patients and there was no direct correlation between elevated serum isocitrate dehydrogenase level and other clinical parameters.  相似文献

Hepatotoxicity is regarded as a rare side effect of amphotericin B therapy. A patient with acute myelogenous leukemia who had normal liver function was treated with amphotericin B for fungal pneumonia. While he was receiving the drug at high dosages asymptomatic elevation of the levels of alkaline phosphatase, serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase, lactic dehydrogenase and bilirubin was noted. The levels returned to normal when the drug was discontinued. Rechallenge with a lower dosage prompted a rapid rise in the levels, with subsequent return to normal when the medication was withdrawn.  相似文献

The magnetic field of 0.008 T and 0.15 T inductions influence lasting 7 weeks (7 days a week), 1 h daily determines the increase of the activity of cytoplasmatic enzymes (glutamic pyruvic transaminase, glutamic oxalacetic transaminase, lactic dehydrogenase), the decrease of cholinesterase activity and the growth of alkaline phosphatase activity in the plasma of the examined animals. The observed changes were reversible. 2 months after the exposure had been stopped, the tested parameters were back to normal.  相似文献

Albumin, cholesterol, glucose, inorganic phosphorus, and total protein analyses were not affected by temperatures between 20 and 38°C nor by dilution with either 0.65% or 0.85% NaCl. Additionally, blood urea nitrogen, calcium and creatinine were unaffected by dilution. Alkaline phosphotase, cholinesterase, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, α-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, lactic dehydrogenase, and phosphohexose isomerase were all affected by temperature. Results of dilution tests were generally inconclusive, while results of enzymatic reactions indicate that reaction temperatures must be closely controlled to produce comparable results.  相似文献

以三硝基甲苯(INT)、六六六、滴滴涕(DDT)、对硫磷(E-605)、氯化汞分别进行白鲢鱼种的急性致毒实验,与对照组相比,鱼血清谷草转氨酶活性显著增加;对硫磷还引起血清谷丙转氨酶活性的升高。血清转氨酶活性增加的程度与氯化汞浓度相关。不同种类的我国淡水鲤科鱼类、不同鱼龄、不同水体以及短期饥饿、惊扰及网箱饲养对血清转氨酶活性没有影响,但水温升高或溶氧低于1ppm会使鱼血清谷草转氨酶活性升高。水温与鱼血清谷草转氨酶活性有相关性。    相似文献

A rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta), accidentally exposed to vapors of methyl methacrylate for 22 hours was found in a comatose condition. Attempts to revive the animal were unsuccessful. Necropsy revealed a diffusely mottled liver, pulmonary edema, and atelectasis. The thoracic cavities each contained 30 ml of clear yellow fluid. Histopathologic review of the tissues showed central lobular liver necrosis, pulmonary edema, pulmonary emphysema, and atelectasis. Analysis of a blood sample obtained from the monkey 1.5 hours prior to death showed a normal hemogram, but elevated values for serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase, lactate dehydrogenase, phosphohexose isomerase, blood urea nitrogen, and serum sodium. The pathologic findings, laboratory results, and clinical history suggested a diagnosis of methyl methacrylate poisoning.  相似文献

Eighteen components in rainbow trout serum were tested for variability among individuals and stability during storage. In addition, the precision of an automated serum analysis system was determined. Stability of serum components was observed over 42 days at temperatures of 25° C, 4° C and - 10° C. Components tested included: albumin, total protein, blood urea nitrogen, cholesterol, chloride, glucose, potassium, sodium, cholinesterase, alkaline phosphatase, lactic dehydrogenase, a-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, phosphohexose isomerase, inorganic phosphorus, calcium, creatinine, and creatine phosphokinase. Fish serum was generally more stable than human serum when stored at 25° C and 4° C and similar in stability at - 10° C. Precision of analytical methodologies was excellent for all components measured except creatine phosphokinase.  相似文献

Summary A number of enzymes alkaline and acid phosphatase, lactic acid dehydrogenase, glutamic oxalacetate transaminase (GOT), aldolase, glucose-6-phosphat dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) in the serum of 81 patients with Langdon Down's syndrome and mental deficiency (idiocy) were investigated and then compared with a sample of 37 healthy persons. The enzyme activities were determined spectrophotometrically.Statistically significant differences of alkaline and acid phosphatase, lactic acid dehydrogenase, and glutamic oxalacetate transaminase were demonstrated between oligophrenic patients and healthy persons; there was a distinct increase in the serum of patients. The values for aldolase and glucose-6-phosphat dehydrogenase were equal both in the serum of patients and of controls. There was no significant difference between the values of adult oligophrenics on one side and adult patients with Down's syndrome on the other. Until further notice children with serious mental deficiency — oligophrenics of unknown genesis as well as patients with Down's syndrome — demonstrated no definite evidence of enzymologically deviations compared with those of the control group.

The activity of aldolase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, 3-phospho-glycerate kinase, pyruvate phosphokinase, malic dehydrogenase, glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase was studied in extracts of green and streptomycin- or erythromycin-depigmented cells ofEuglena gracilis var.bacillaris obtained by the freezing technique. The activities of alanine-, aspartate- and branched-chain amino-acid transaminases, glutamine synthetase, glutamate dehydrogenase and adenylate deaminase in white adipose tissue of adult male rats have been determined in animals submitted to 12-h cold exposure (4 degrees C) or to 24-h food deprivation. Starvation resulted in small changes in glutamate dehydrogenase and alanine transaminase when expressed per unit of protein weight, inducing an increase in branched-chain amino-acid transaminase and glutamine synthetase. Cold exposure showed the same effects as starvation with respect to glutamate dehydrogenase and alanine transaminase, but induced increases in glutamine synthetase and aspartate transaminase. It is concluded that starvation increases the handling of some amino acids by white adipose tissue and the detoxification of the ammonia thus evolved. The changes observed suggest a different pattern of amino-acid metabolism enzyme changes with either cold or starvation.  相似文献

Alterations in robustness- and health-related traits lead to physiological changes, such as changes in the serum clinical chemical parameters in individuals. Therefore, clinical–chemical traits can be used as biomarkers to examine the health status of chickens. The aim of the present study was to detect the quantitative trait loci (QTLs) influencing eight clinical–chemical traits (glucose, total protein, creatinine, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, and α-amylase) in an F1 nuclear families comprising 83 F0 founders and 585 F1 progeny of Korean native chickens. Genotypic data on 135 DNA markers representing 26 autosomes have been generated for this resource pedigree. The total length of the map was 2729.4 cM. We used a multipoint variance component linkage approach to identify QTLs for the traits. A significant QTL affecting serum α-amylase levels was identified on chicken chromosome (GGA) 7 [logarithm of odds (LOD) = 3.02, P value = 1.92 × 10?4]. Additionally, we detected several suggestive linkage signals for the levels of total cholesterol, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, and creatinine on GGA 4, 12, 13, and 15. In this study, serum α-amylase levels related significant QTL was mapped on GGA7 and cholesterol, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, and creatinine traits related suggestive QTLs were detected on GGA4, 12, 13 and 15, respectively. Further verification and fine mapping of these identified QTLs can provide valuable information for understanding the variations of clinical chemical trait in chickens.  相似文献
