Results are presented from studies of the emission from an erosion gallium laser plasma at a moderate intensity (W=(1–5)×108 W/cm2) of a 1.06-μm laser radiation. It is shown that, under these conditions, the lower excited states of gallium atoms are populated most efficiently. Among the ions, only the most intense GaII lines are observed in the emission spectrum. The populations of GaI and GaII excited states are not related to direct electron excitation, but are determined by the recombination of gallium ions with slow electrons. The recombination times of GaIII and GaII ions in the core of the plasma jet are determined from the waveforms of emission in the GaII and GaI spectral lines and are equal to 10 and 140 ns, respectively. Laser plasmas produced at the surfaces of lead and a PbGa2S4 layered crystal irradiated by a neodymium laser with λ=1.06 μm, pulse duration τ=20 ns, and intensity W=(1–2)×109 W/cm2 are studied using optical diagnostics. It is shown that, in a lead plasma, the most intense (characteristic) lines are the PbI 405.7-nm, PbI 368.3-nm, PbI 364-nm, and PbII 220.4-nm lines. In a layered crystal plasma, the emission spectrum is an aggregation of the most intense PbI and GaI lines, whereas sulfur lines are absent. The bottlenecks of the recombination of the ionic and atomic components of the lead and PbGa2S4 crystal plasmas are determined. The average propagation velocity of the lead laser plume is 18–20 km/s. A comparative analysis of the emission dynamics of PbI and GaI lines in the laser plasmas of these metals and in the plasma of a PbGa2S4 crystal is carried out. A method is developed for measurements of laser radiation scattering by wires and fibers in different types of imploding arrays in the initial stage of plasma production at discharge currents per wire of up to 2 kA for aluminum arrays and up to 8 kA for tungsten arrays. The experiments were carried out on the Angara-5-1 facility at a current density in the wires of 108 A/cm2 and current growth rate of ~1013 A/s. It is found that the indicatrix of laser radiation reflected from the wires (fibers) in cylindrical and conical arrays is modified at currents of 0.1–10 kA per wire (fiber). The experimental data on the reflection and scattering of laser radiation from wires and fibers are compared with the results of numerical simulations of their electric explosion in vacuum. It is proposed that the change in the reflection indicatrix of laser radiation is caused by the onset of thermal instabilities. The typical size of density and temperature inhomogeneities on the wire surface is in a range of 10–20 μm, which probably results in a transition from specular to diffuse reflection of laser radiation. A simultaneous abrupt (over 2–3 ns) reduction in the reflection intensity from several wires of an array indicates a homogeneous distribution of the discharge current over the irradiated wires. This closes the issue of the quality of the contact between the wires and the electrodes. The obtained experimental information is of considerable importance for the development of numerical codes for simulations of the implosion of wire arrays and the refinement of the wire parameters in the initial stage of plasma production.  相似文献

Results are presented from experimental studies of ion acceleration under the action of femtosecond laser pulses with an intensity of 1017 W/cm2, incident onto the free surfaces of melted gallium and indium. The effect of the polarization direction of a linearly polarized laser pulse and the amplitude of a short prepulse, which precedes the main pulse by several nanoseconds, on the parameters of accelerated ions is investigated. It is found that, even for such a moderate laser intensity, the characteristic velocity of fast ions ejected along the reflected beam is a factor of 1.5 higher than that of ions ejected along the normal to the target surface. It is shown that, as the prepulse energy increases, the hard X-ray yield and the mean energy of hot electrons increase substantially, whereas the velocity of both fast and slow ions decreases appreciably regard-less of laser polarization.  相似文献

In measuring the charge and energy spectra of the ions of a single-element laser plasma, in addition to thermal ions, fast multicharged ions are recorded that are accelerated by the electric field of laser radiation in the region of the critical plasma density. The charge and energy spectra of Co ions with the charge numbers z=1–3 are measured at laser intensities of q=5×1011–1012 W/cm2. The energy spectra of these ions are broad and are located on the high-energy side (z max=3, E>5.0 keV) with respect to the thermal ions (z max=9, E<4.0 keV). The increase in q to 1014 W/cm2 results in an increase in the charge number of both thermal and fast ions.  相似文献

A pulse-periodic 2.45-GHz electron-cyclotron resonance plasma source on the basis of a permanent- magnet mirror trap has been constructed and tested. Variations in the discharge parameters and the electron temperature of argon plasma have been investigated in the argon pressure range of 1 × 10–4 to 4 × 10–3 Torr at a net pulsed input microwave power of up to 600 W. The plasma electron temperature in the above ranges of gas pressures and input powers has been measured by a Langmuir probe and determined using optical emission spectroscopy (OES) from the intensity ratios of spectral lines. The OES results agree qualitatively and quantitatively with the data obtained using the double probe.  相似文献

We describe some examples of the study of intermolecular interactions in water and in weak aqueous solutions using the low-frequency Raman spectra. An improved method of determining parameters of the dynamic susceptibility from the Raman spectra is described. The nine spectral parameters (the intensity, the frequency and the width of the two oscillators, the intensity and the width of the relaxation motion and the intensity of fluorescent background) completely describe the spectrum in the frequency range of 4 to 320 cm?1. For hydrogen peroxide the dependences of these parameters on the concentration is shown. Concentration dependence of the spectral parameters of the hydrogen peroxide solution in water indicates a change in the structure of the molecular bonds in water near a peroxide molecule at a distance up to 0.7–0.9 nm. The effect of the exciting laser radiation on the parameters of the spectra in the registration of the Raman spectra of water is shown.  相似文献

Results are presented from experimental studies of discharge instabilities and the energy and temporal characteristics of a vacuum-diode X-ray source with a laser plasma cathode over a wide range of energies, intensities, and durations of the plasma-forming laser pulse. It is experimentally shown that the vacuum-discharge dynamics and radiation processes in different discharge stages substantially depend on the parameters of the laser radiation. The shortest recorded pulse duration (10 ns) of Ti K-line radiation (4.5 keV) with a total photon number of 1011 is achieved when the laser plasma cathode is produced by a laser pulse with a duration of 27 ps and an intensity of 1013 W/cm2. It is found that the contrast of characteristic emission against the bremsstrahlung background is maximum when discharge instabilities are suppressed and the accelerating voltage is three to four times higher than the threshold voltage for line excitation.  相似文献

This work presents results of experimental studies of the spectral and photometric characteristics of optical radiation generated by a pulse-periodic microwave discharge close to ECR (2.45 GHz, average power of up to 200 W, argon pressure of 10–4–10–1 Torr). Under these conditions, dense (n e = 1010–4 × 1011 cm–3) low-temperature (T e = 3–5 eV) plasma is produced in the working volume at an ionization rate of 10–3–5 × 10–5. It is shown that the increase in the electron density near the upper boundary of the pressure range at a constant level of the input power leads to a drastic change in the type and spectral composition of plasma radiation and a jumplike increase in the light flux. The results of probe and optical measurements made it possible to determine the range of the operating parameters defining the character and parameters of the radiation processes under study.  相似文献

Ion beam acceleration is simulated using a one-dimensional 1D2P PIC code. The dependences of the maximum energy and width of the energy spectrum of the generated ion beams on the duration and intensity of laser radiation, as well as on the target parameters (thickness and number of layers, types and densities of atoms), are investigated. The optimal target configuration at which the energy of the accelerated ions is maximum (5–160 MeV for intensities of 5 × 1018 −5 × 1020 W/cm2) is found. The optimal target configuration is shown to depend on the intensity and be independent of the laser pulse duration.  相似文献

The principle of the compact Compton source is presented briefly. In collision with an ultrarelativistic electron bunch a laser pulse is back-scattered as hard X-rays. The radiation cone has an opening of a few mrad, and the energy bandwidth is a few percent. The electrons that have an energy of the order of a few tens of MeV either circulate in storage ring, or are injected to a linac at a frequency of 10–100 MHz. At the interaction point the electron bunch collides with the laser pulse that has been amplified in a Fabry-Perot resonator. There are several machines in design or construction phase, and projected fluxes are 1012 to 1014 photons/s. The flux available at 80 keV from the ThomX machine is compared with that used in the Stereotactic Synchrotron Radiation Therapy clinical trials. It is concluded that ThomX has the potential of serving as the radiation source in future radiation therapy programs, and that ThomX can be integrated in hospital environment.  相似文献

We measured ultraweak emissions of the Xenopus laevis eggs and embryos during normal development and under the influence of stress factors in a spectral range of 250 to 800 nm using a photomultiplier. The registered emissions were analyzed by several basic characteristics: mean intensity, histograms, kurtosis, linear trends, and Fourier spectra. We followed relationships between these parameters and developmental stage, as well as the number of individuals in optic contact with each other. The ultraweak emissions did not differ from the background at all developmental stages according to the mean intensity. But Fourier analysis revealed the reliable presence of a number of spectral lines of ultraweak emission, predominantly in the range of 10?2–50 Hz, in the embryos at developmental stages 2 to 11. The intensity of ultraweak emissions reliably decreased within the first 10 min after egg activation and fertilization, as well as in the case of optic interaction between groups of embryos. Sharp cooling, increase in osmotic medium pressure, and transfer in a Ca2+ and Mg2+-free medium induced a short term (~1–5 min) increase in the mean intensity of ultraweak emission. We studied specific features of ultraweak emissions from different parts of the embryo. The intensity of emission from the animal part of early blastula exceeded those from the vegetal area and entire embryo. Separated fragments of the lateral ectoderm at the neurula stage had higher mean intensities of ultraweak emission than intact embryos at the same developmental stages.  相似文献

The spectroscopic technique used to measure the parameters of the plasma jets generated in the plasma focus discharge and those of the plasma of the immobile gas through which these jets propagate is described. The time evolution of the intensities and shapes of spectral lines in experiments carried out with helium at the PF-3 facility was studied by means of electron-optical streak cameras. The plasma electron temperature, T ≈ 4–5 eV, was determined from the intensity ratio of two spectral lines, one of which (λ1 = 5876 Å) belongs to neutral helium, while the other (λ2 = 4686 Å), to hydrogen-like helium ions. The plasma density at different time instants was determined from the Stark broadening of these lines in the electric fields of different nature. The plasma density is found to vary from 4 × 1014 to 2 × 1017 cm?3.  相似文献

Phenolate bridged binuclear Cu(II) complexes were used to monitor the contribution of the endogenous bridging ligand to the resonance Raman spectrum of the oxygen transport protein such as hemocyanin. From the excitation profile of the intensity enhanced phenolate vc-o the phenolate-to-Cu(II) charge-transfer transition of the four studied complexes has been located between 380 nm and 430 run, similar to the low-temperature absorption band in the hemocyanin spectra. By approaching the exciting laser frequency to this electronic transition, the whole spectral range 1250–1650 cm−1 is strongly intensity enhanced and considered as the typical feature of this kind of phenolate bridged Cu(II) complexes. Comparison to mononuclear analogues pointed out no significant differences of the resonance enhanced Raman lines. The results are discussed in relation to the resonance Raman spectra of hemocyanin.  相似文献

Abstract

Supercoiling-induced structural transition of the d(C24GC21,) · d(G21CG24) sequence in plasmid DNA in the presence of Mg2+ at neutral pH results in alterations of efficiencies of not only single-quantum (pyrimidine[6–4]pyrimidone adducts) but also two-quantum (alkalisensitive lesions of dG residues) photomodifications of nucleoside residues within this sequence. The generation of both types of photoreactions was achieved by the application of high-intensity laser UV radiation (intensity ~ 1011 W/m2, pulse duration ~ 10?8 s, λ= 266 nm) for irradiation of a plasmid DNA The modification extent sufficient for analysis of photoreaction efficiency distributions along both strands of the insert (photofootprinting) was obtained by the action of a single nanosecond pulse of laser UV radiation. The pattern of a laser photofootprinting is consistent with the d(C) · d(G) · d(G) triplex formation in the presence of Mg2+ within the insert and shows some details of this triplex structure.  相似文献

X-ray diagnostics of the interaction of femtosecond laser pulses with intensities of 1016–1018 W/cm2 with CO2 clusters and frozen nanosize water particles is carried out. The stage of cluster expansion and the formation of a plasma channel, which governs the parameters of the formed X-ray radiation source and accelerated ion flows, is studied. The measurements are based on recording spatially resolved X-ray spectra of H- and He-like oxygen ions. Utilization of Rydberg transitions for spectra diagnostics makes it possible to determine plasma parameters on a time scale of t ∼ 10 ps after the beginning of a femtosecond pulse. The role of the rear edge of the laser pulse in sustaining the plasma temperature at a level of ∼100 eV in the stage of a nonadiabatic cluster expansion is shown. The analysis of the profiles and relative intensities of spectral lines allows one to determine the temperature and density of plasma electrons and distinguish the populations of “thermal” ions and ions that are accelerated up to energies of a few tens of kiloelectronvolts. It is shown that the use of solid clusters made of frozen nanoscale water droplets as targets leads to a substantial increase in the number of fast He-like ions. In this case, however, the efficiency of acceleration of H-like ions does not increase, because the time of their ionization in plasma exceeds the time of cluster expansion.  相似文献

Results are presented from experimental and theoretical studies of the efficiency of using a CO2 laser to create a high-power source of 13- to 14-nm EUV radiation for lithography. For a laser intensity of ∼2 × 1011 W/cm2, a conversion efficiency of k EUV ≃ 1.5% was achieved on a plane solid Sn target. The calculated gas dynamics and population kinetics of Sn plasma ions agree qualitatively with experimental results.  相似文献

The interaction of 1.07-μm laser radiation with plasma of a continuous optical discharge (COD) in xenon and argon at a pressure of p = 3–25 bar and temperature of T = 15 kK has been studied. The threshold power required to sustain COD is found to decrease with increasing gas pressure to P t < 30 W in xenon at p > 20 bar and to P t < 350 W in argon at p > 15 bar. This effect is explained by an increase in the coefficient of laser radiation absorption to 20?25 cm–1 in Xe and 1?2 cm–1 in Ar due to electronic transitions between the broadened excited atomic levels. The COD characteristics also depend on the laser beam refraction in plasma. This effect can be partially compensated by a tighter focusing of the laser beam. COD is applied as a broadband light source with a high spectral brightness.  相似文献

Results are presented from the studies of the magnetic implosion of a tungsten wire liner onto an aluminum wire at currents of 2.0–2.6 MA. The experiments were carried out in the S-300 high-power pulsed facility at the Russian Research Centre Kurchatov Institute. The liner is composed of 50 wires 6 μm in diameter and 1 cm in length, which are equally spaced on a circle 1 cm in diameter. An aluminum wire 120 μm in diameter is positioned at the array axis. The liner implosion was accompanied by the generation of VUV and soft X-ray emission. The parameters of the pinch plasma produced during the liner implosion onto the aluminum wire were determined from the time-resolved spectral measurements by a five-channel polychromator. The ion and electron densities turned out to be equal to n i≈4×1019 cm−3 and n e≈4×1020 cm−3, respectively, and the electron temperature was T e≈40 eV. The radiation energy measured in the range 50–600 eV was 2–10 kJ. The sources of soft X-ray emission in hydrogen-and helium-like aluminum lines were the bright spots and local objects (clouds) formed in the plasma corona at an electron temperature of 200–500 eV and electron density of 1021–1022 cm−3. Results are presented from experiments on the laser generation of X-ray radiation at the wavelength λ=469 ? (ε=26.4 eV) on the 3p(J=0)−3s(J=1) transition of Ne-like Ar ions. Experiments were carried out on the SIGNAL electrophysical facility with a 3.1-mm-diameter 157-mm-long Al2O3 ceramic capillary filled with argon at a pressure of 0.2–1.0 Torr. The discharge current amplitude was I ∼ 25–40 kA, the current rise rate being dI/dt ∼ 1012 A/s. By a vacuum X-ray diode tuned to detect X-ray photons with energies in the range 10–40 eV, laser pulses with a duration of t 1 ∼ 1 ns and maximum energy of E 1,max ∼ 1 μJ were recorded. The pulses were generated 35 ns after the discharge current was switched on. The line spectra in the wavelength range of 150–500 ? showed the bright λ=469 ? line.
