Pleurotus sajor-caju, P. sapidus, P. cornucopiae, and P. ostreatus mushrooms were produced on unsupplemented wheat straw. The yield of mushrooms averaged 3.6% (dry-weight basis), with an average 18% straw weight loss. Lignin losses (average, 11%) were lower than cellulose (20%) and hemicellulose (50%) losses. The cellulase digestibility of the residual straw after mushroom harvest was generally lower than that of the original straw. It does not appear feasible to simultaneously produce Pleurotus mushrooms and a highly delignified residue from wheat straw.  相似文献

Today, weaner diets are optimised using digestibility coefficients obtained from grower-finisher pigs, which may overestimate the digestibility in weaners. The aim of this study was to evaluate the standardised ileal digestibility (SID) of CP and amino acids (AAs), and the intestinal morphology in pigs 0–4 weeks postweaning when fed different protein sources. The experiment included 128 pigs weaned at day 28 and the protein sources were wheat, soybean meal (SBM), enzyme-treated soybean meal (ESBM), hydrothermally treated rapeseed meal (HRSM) and casein. The experiment was conducted as a difference method study including wheat in all diets. Eight pigs were slaughtered on the day of weaning (day 0) and six pigs/treatment were slaughtered at days 7, 14, 21, and 28 postweaning. The SID of CP and AA, as average over the four weeks, was lowest for ESBM and highest for wheat and casein, with SBM and HRSM being intermediate. The SID of CP and AA increased (both linear and quadratic, P < 0.05) over time after weaning. The average SID of CP for all protein sources postweaning was 0.38, 0.59, 0.76, and 0.71 on days 7, 14, 21, and 28, respectively. These differences were significant (P < 0.05) between days 7 and 21, and between days 7 and 28 (P < 0.05), whereas there tended to be a difference between days 7 and 14 (P = 0.06). Protein source did not affect the small intestinal morphology response parameters, whereas time after weaning did. Villous height and villous height to crypt depth ratio differed (P < 0.05) between the days 0 and 7, with shorter villi and a higher ratio at day 7. Crypt depth was not altered between days 0 and 7, or between days 7 and 14. For villi density, crypt density and small intestinal length, a significant increase from days 7 to 14 was observed, but there was no further increase to or difference between days 21 and 28. In conclusion, the low SID of CP in casein on day 7 (0.50) illustrates the challenges related to protein digestion in weanling pigs. The SID of CP and AA is very low during the first two weeks postweaning and time after weaning is more important for protein digestibility, than the source of protein. Fewer mature epithelial cells and less absorptive area in the small intestine in the early postweaning period may partly explain the poor protein digestibility.  相似文献

In situ estimates of ruminal undegraded fraction (RU) and effective intestinal digestibility (EID, corrected for microbial colonisation) of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP) and total analysed amino acids (TAA) of rye, wheat and corn grains, wheat bran, wheat and barley distillers’ dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and corn gluten feed were measured on three rumen and duodenum cannulated wethers using 15N labelling techniques and considering ruminal rates of particle comminution (kc) and outflow. Results indicate that not considering kc and microbial colonisation led to considerable overestimations of RU which increased with feed ruminal degradation. Microbial colonisation may be also associated with overestimations of EID, whose estimates for DM, CP and TAA were predicted from parameters related with the ruminal escape of intestinally indigestible materials. The RU estimates were higher for TAA than for CP in grains, but the opposite was observed in by-products, whereas EID estimates were higher for TAA in all feeds. To obtain accurate protein values in these feedstuffs, it is required to consider both kc and ruminal microbial colonisation. The CP-based results underestimate the intestinally digested protein in grains and the opposite is evidenced in cereal by-products. Microbial protein synthesised in the rumen is largely the major fraction of the feedstuff protein value with the exception of DDGS.  相似文献

White-rot fungal conversion of wheat straw to energy rich cattle feed   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In order to improve the digestibility and nutrient availability in rumen, wheat straw was subjected to solid state fermentation (SSF) with white-rot fungi (i.e. Pleurotus ostreatus and Trametes versicolor) and the fermented biomass (called myco-straw) was evaluated for biochemical, enzymatic and nutritional parameters. The fungal treatment after 30 days led to significant decrease (P < 0.05) in cell wall constituents viz, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), hemicellulose, lignin and cellulose to the extent of 35.00, 38.88, 45.00, 37.48 and 37.86%, respectively in P. ostreatus fermented straw, while 30.04, 33.85, 39.90, 31.29 and 34.00%, respectively in T. versicolor fermented straw. However, maximum efficiency of fermentation in terms of low carbohydrate consumption per unit of lignin degradation, favoring cattle feed production was observed for P. ostreatus on the 10th day (17.12%) as compared with T. versicolor on the 30th day (16.91%). The myco-straw was found to contain significantly high (P < 0.05) crude protein (CP; 4.77% T. versicolor, 5.08% P. ostreatus) as compared to control straw (3.37%). Metabolizable energy (ME, MJ/kg DM), percent organic matter digestibility (OMD) and short chain fatty acids (SCFAs; mmol) production also increased considerably from control straw (4.40, 29.91 and 0.292) to a maximum up to P. ostreatus fermented straw (4.92, 33.39 and 0.376 on 20th day) and T. versicolor fermented straw (4.66, 31.74 and 0.334 on 10th day), respectively. Moreover, the myco-straw had lower organic carbon and was rich in nitrogen with lower C/N ratio as compared to control wheat straw. Results suggest that the fungal fermentation of wheat straw effectively improved CP content, OM digestibility, SCFAs production, ME value and simultaneously lowered the C/N ratio, thus showing potential for bioconversion of lignin rich wheat straw into high energy cattle feed.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to compare the in situ ruminal degradation of CP and amino acids (AAs) of dried distillers’ grains with solubles (DDGS), and to estimate intestinal digestibility (ID) of undegradable crude protein (UDP) with the in vitro pepsin–pancreatin solubility of CP (PPS), using either DDGS samples (DDGS-s) or DDGS residues (DDGS-r) obtained after 16 h ruminal incubation. Thirteen samples originating from wheat, corn, barley and blends were studied. Lysine and methionine content of DDGS-s varied from 1.4 to 4.0 and 1.3 to 2.0 g/16 g N, respectively. The milk protein score (MPS) of DDGS-s was low and ranged from 0.36 to 0.51, and lysine and isoleucine were estimated to be the most limiting AAs in DDGS-s and DDGS-r. DDGS-r contained slightly more essential AAs (EAAs) than did the DDGS-s. Rumen degradation after 16 h varied from 44% to 94% for CP, from 39% to 90% for lysine and from 35% to 92% for methionine. Linear regressions showed that the ruminal degradation of individual AAs can be predicted from CP degradation. The PPS of DDGS-s was higher than that of DDGS-r and it varied from 70% to 89% and from 47% to 81%, respectively. There was no significant correlation between the PPS of DDGS-s and PPS of DDGS-r (R2=0.31). The estimated intestinally absorbable dietary protein (IADP) averaged 21%. Moderate correlation was found between the crude fibre (CF) content and PPS of DDGS-r (R2=0.43). This study suggests an overestimation of the contribution of UDP of DDGS to digestible protein supply in the duodenum in some currently used protein evaluation systems. More research is required and recommended to assess the intestinal digestibility of AAs from DDGS.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to find optimum rice bran (RB) and food waste compost (FWC) contents in culture medium for mycelial growth rate and fruit body yield of oyster mushroom, Pleurotus ostreatus. RB (0–20%) and FWC (20–40%) contents significantly affected the fruit body yield of P. ostreatus. Within the design boundaries, the optimum conditions for maximum mycelial growth rate (14.8 cm 20 d−1) were 9.3% RB and 24% FWC. The optimum conditions for maximum fruit body yield (91 g bottle−1) were 12% RB and 25% FWC, which was 153% higher than value (36 ± 11 g bottle−1) at the control condition of 80% w/w sawdust and 20% w/w RB. Our results proved a good potential of FWC to serve as an alternative growth medium for cultivating oyster mushroom, P. ostreatus. This may improve the production efficiency of edible mushrooms to help minimize production costs and maximize farm profits.  相似文献

The hemibiotrophic pathogen Fusarium culmorum (Fc) causes crown and root rot (CRR) in wheat. In this study, MeJA treatment was done 6 h after pathogen inoculation (hai) to focus the physiological and biochemical responses in root tissue of the susceptible wheat cv Falat, partially resistant cv Pishtaz and the tolerant cv Sumai3 at the beginning of the necrotrophic stage. The results indicate that treatment with MeJA at 6 hai significantly delayed the necrotic progress in cv Falat, whereas no significant difference was seen in other cultivars. The activities of pathogen responsive defense-related enzymes (SOD, CAT, POX, PPO, LOX and PAL), total phenols and callose contents were higher in Sumai3, while treatment with MeJA significantly increased these enzymes activities and total phenols content in Falat, signifying the most sensitive cultivar which had a weak reaction to the pathogen but a strong response to MeJA treatment. Additionally, MeJA treatment decreased the level of H2O2 and MDA contents particularly in cv Falat. This is the first work reporting the regulation of defense-related enzymes by MeJA treatment at particular time point of 6 hai suggests the possible role of JA in regulating basal resistance in CRR pathogen–wheat interaction. Taken together, our data add new insights into the mechanism of wheat defense including enzymatic events controlling wheat protection against Fc infection.  相似文献

Olive oil industry generates huge quantities of solid olive mill wastes (SOMW), causing environmental damage. Cultivation of edible mushrooms, such as Pleurotus ostreatus is a valuable approach for SOMW valorization. A local strain mycelium (Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria) of P. ostreatus (LPO) was isolated from castor oil plants. Oyster mushroom spawn, produced on barley grains, was used to inoculate wet SOMW, steamed in a traditional steamer during 45 min. The mycelium growth rate on SOMW was first estimated in Petri dish by measuring the surface colonized by the mycelium. The fruit body yields were estimated on culture bags containing 2 kg each of SOMW inoculated at 7% (w/w). The local strain potential was compared with that of a commercial one. Both strains produced high-quality mushrooms, but with low yields. The supplementation of the SOMW with wheat straw at the rate of 10% and 2% of CaCO3 had significantly enhanced the productivity of the two strains, multiplying it by 3.2 for LPO and by 2.6 for CPO.  相似文献

The process of ensiling was studied in fresh maize (15% dry matter (DM)), wilted maize (18 and 24% DM) and maize mixed with 5–20% of wheat straw (18, 25 and 29% DM). Silages with 24% DM were preserved better than those with lower dry matter content. There was a significant change, with time, in pH, titrable acidity, volatile fatty acids, lactic acid, number of lactic acid bacteria, volatile nitrogen and soluble sugars in all the treatments. There was a significant decline in volatile fatty acids (P<0.05) and ammonia (P<0.01) production, and a significant increase in soluble sugar (P<0.01) in silages made after wilting. A significant decline in titrable acidity (P<0.01), volatile fatty acid production (p<0.05) and ammonia nitrogen (P<0.01), and a significant increase in pH (P<0.01) were found in silages of maize mixed with wheat straw. The overall rate of fermentation decreased during the first few days of fermentation in wilted and wheat straw silages, but the final products had characteristics of a good silage. In the second experiment the effect of urea and molasses was studied on wheat straw plus maize (15:85) silage with an initial DM content of 31–34%. Three levels of molasses (0, 3 and 6% of fresh weight) and two levels of urea (0 and 0.5% of fresh weight) were studied. Urea treatment with 3% molasses was found to be the best on the basis of silage characteristics.  相似文献

Ruminal in situ incubations are widely used to assess the nutritional value of feedstuffs for ruminants. In in situ methods, feed samples are ruminally incubated in indigestible bags over a predefined timespan and the disappearance of nutrients from the bags is recorded. To describe the degradation of specific nutrients, information on the concentration of feed samples and undegraded feed after in situ incubation (‘bag residues’) is needed. For cereal and pea grains, CP and starch (ST) analyses are of interest. The numerous analyses of residues following ruminal incubation contribute greatly to the substantial investments in labour and money, and faster methods would be beneficial. Therefore, calibrations were developed to estimate CP and ST concentrations in grains and bag residues following in situ incubations by using their near-infrared spectra recorded from 680 to 2500 nm. The samples comprised rye, triticale, barley, wheat, and maize grains (20 genotypes each), and 15 durum wheat and 13 pea grains. In addition, residues after ruminal incubation were included (at least from four samples per species for various incubation times). To establish CP and ST calibrations, 620 and 610 samples (grains and bag residues after incubation, respectively) were chemically analysed for their CP and ST concentration. Calibrations using wavelengths from 1250 to 2450 nm and the first derivative of the spectra produced the best results (R2Validation=0.99 for CP and ST; standard error of prediction=0.47 and 2.10% DM for CP and ST, respectively). Hence, CP and ST concentration in cereal grains and peas and their bag residues could be predicted with high precision by NIRS for use in in situ studies. No differences were found between the effective ruminal degradation calculated from NIRS estimations and those calculated from chemical analyses (P>0.70). Calibrations were also calculated to predict ruminal degradation kinetics of cereal grains from the spectra of ground grains. Estimation of the effective ruminal degradation of CP and ST from the near-infrared spectra of cereal grains showed promising results (R2>0.90), but the database needs to be extended to obtain more stable calibrations for routine use.  相似文献

The current research aims to evaluate the antidiabetic properties of Pleurotus pulmonarius, an edible basidiomycetes mushroom fungi in diabetic induced wistar albino rats. Mycelial Hot Water Extracts (HWE) and Acetone Extracts (AE) of Pleurotus pulmonarius was orally administrated to STZ-NA induced (55 mg/kilogram body weight) diabetic wistar albino rats at a concentration of 200 and 400 mg/kg for 4 weeks. The outcomes revealed that the HWE of Pleurotus pulmonarius resulted in a significant (p < 0.001) reduction in blood glucose level. A noteworthy (p < 0.001) reduction in serum lipid profile and elevation in High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C) after administration with HWE, also demonstrating the protective effects of HWE in diabetes-related complications. Besides all antidiabetic parameters, pathological morphology of the pancreas, liver and kidney are regularised. This observation indicated that HWE of Pleurotus pulmonarius possessed higher antidiabetic activity than AE. Besides, HWE also promoted a significant control of alpha amylase enzyme in a concentration-dependent manner with a maximum activity of 99.23% inhibition at 1000 µg/ml. The outcomes of the present study indicated that the HWE possesses a potential antidiabetic activity both in vitro and in vivo. Thus, it can be used as a nontoxic complementary drug in the controlling of diabetes and related complications, thus providing scientific authentication of its use as an antidiabetic agent.  相似文献

Poultry excreta substantially increased the crude protein (CP) content and the calcium and phosporus content of the base bedding materials. The crude fibre (CF) content of sawdust (52.3%) was higher than that of wheat straw (38.9%) and bagasse (30.2%). Dry matter digestibility in vitro (IVDMD) of wheat straw, bagasse and sawdust poultry litters (PL) was 65.4, 64.5 and 48.1%, respectively. Green sorghum fodder when ensiled alone or with 20% wheat straw PL, sawdust PL or bagasse PL on fresh basis contained 4.67, 7.80, 10.00 and 7.55% CP, respectively. Nitrogen-free extract (NFE) content of PL silages was lower than that of the control. Apart from wheat straw PL, all silages accumulated considerable amounts of lactic acid. The total volatile fatty acids (TVFA) concentrations were similar for all silages. The addition of PL caused an increase in the proportion of ammonia nitrogen. A feeding trial with crossbred adult male cattle revealed no significant difference in dry matter (DM), CP and ether extract (EE) digestibility of wheat straw and bagasse PL silages. The CF digestibility was similar for all the silages. Sawdust PL silage, however, was significantly lower (P < 0.05) in digestibility of DM, EE and NFE compared to other PL based silages. The DCP and TDN values for the control, wheat straw, bagasse and sawdust PL silages were 2.0, 60.1; 4.3, 45.3; 6.1, 50.3 and 2.9, 41.9 kg/100 kg DM, respectively.  相似文献

(1) Five minor chlorophyll-protein complexes were isolated from thylakoid membranes of the green alga Acetabularia by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, after SDS or octylglucoside solubilization. None of them were related to CP I (Photosystem I reaction center core) or CP II (chlorophyll ab light-harvesting complex). (2) Two complexes (CPa-1 and CPa-2) contained only chlorophyll (Chl) a, with absorption maxima of 673 and 671 nm, and fluorescence emission maxima of 683 nm compared to 676 nm for CP II. The complexes had apparent molecular masses of 43–47 and 38–40 kDa, and contained a single polypeptide of 41 and 37 kDa, respectively. They each account for about 3% of the total chlorophyll. (3) Three complexes had identical spectra, with Chl ab ratios of 3–4 compared to 2 for thylakoid membranes, and a pronounced shoulder around 485 nm indicating enrichment in carotenoids. One of them was the complex ‘CP 29’ (Camm, E.L. and Green, B.R. (1980) Plant Physiol. 66, 428–432) and the other two were slightly different oligomeric forms of CP 29. They could be formed from CP 29 during reelectrophoresis; but about half the complex was isolated originally in an oligomeric form. Together they account for at least 7% of the total chlorophyll. The phase behaviour of leaf polar lipids from three plants, varying in their sensitivity to chilling, was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. For the lipids from mung bean (Vigna radiata L. var. Berken), a chilling-sensitive plant, a transition exotherm was detected beginning at 10 ± 2°C. No exotherm was evident above 0°C with polar lipids from wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. Falcon) or pea (Pisum sativum cv. Massey Gem), plants which are insensitive to chilling. The enthalpy for the transition in the mung bean polar lipids indicated that only about 7% w/w of the lipid was in the gel phase at ?8°C. The thermal transition of the mung bean lipids was mimicked by wheat and pea polar lipids after the addition of 1 to 2% w/w of a relatively high melting-point lipid such as dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine, dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol or dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine. Analysis of the polar lipids from the three plants showed that a dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol was present in mung bean (1.7% w/w) and pea (0.3% w/w) but undetected in wheat, indicating that the transition exotherm temperature of 10°C in mung bean, 0°C in pea and about ?3°C in wheat correlates with the proportion of the high melting-point disaturated component in the polar lipids. The results indicate that the transition exotherm, observed at temperatures above 0°C in the membranes of chilling-sensitive plants, could be induced by small amounts of high melting-point lipids and involves only a small proportion of the membrane polar lipids.  相似文献

It is known that the level of dietary protein modulates the enzymatic activity of the digestive tract of fish; however, its effect at the molecular level on these enzymes and the hormones regulating appetite has not been well characterised. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of CP on the activity of proteases and the expression of genes related to the ingestion and protein digestion of juveniles of red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.), as well as the effects on performance, protein retention and body composition of tilapia. A total of 240 juveniles (29.32 ± 5.19 g) were used, distributed across 20 tanks of 100 l in a closed recirculation system. The fish were fed to apparent satiety for 42 days using four isoenergetic diets with different CP levels (24%, 30%, 36% and 42%). The results indicate that fish fed the 30% CP diet exhibited a higher growth performance compared to those on the 42% CP diet (P < 0.05). Feed intake in fish fed 24% and 30% CP diets was significantly higher than that in fish fed 36% and 42% CP diets (P < 0.05). A significant elevation of protein retention was observed in fish fed with 24% and 30% CP diets. Fish fed with 24% CP exhibited a significant increase in lipid deposition in the whole body. The diet with 42% CP was associated with the highest expression of pepsinogen and the lowest activity of acid protease (P < 0.05). The expression of hepatopancreatic trypsinogen increased as CP levels in the diet increased (P < 0.05) up to 36%, whereas trypsin activity showed a significant reduction with 42% CP (P < 0.05). The diet with 42% CP was associated with the lowest intestinal chymotrypsinogen expression and the lowest chymotrypsin activity (P < 0.05). α-amylase expression decreased with increasing (P < 0.05) CP levels up to 36%. No significant differences were observed in the expression of procarboxypeptidase, lipase or leptin among all the groups (P > 0.05). In addition, the diet with 42% CP resulted in a decrease (P < 0.05) in the expression of ghrelin and insulin and an increase (P < 0.05) in the expression of cholecystokinin and peptide yy. It is concluded that variation in dietary protein promoted changes in the metabolism of the red tilapia, which was reflected in proteolytic activity and expression of digestion and appetite-regulating genes.  相似文献

Heat shock factors (HSFs) in plants regulate heat stress response by mediating expression of a set of heat shock protein (HSP) genes. In the present study, we isolated a novel heat shock gene, TaHSF3, encoding a protein of 315 amino acids in wheat. Phylogenetic analysis showed that TaHSF3 belonged to HSF class B2. Subcellular localization analysis indicated that TaHSF3 localized in nuclei. TaHSF3 was highly expressed in wheat spikes and showed intermediate expression levels in roots, stems, and leaves under normal conditions. It was highly upregulated in wheat seedlings by heat and cold and to a lesser extent by drought and NaCl and ABA treatments. Overexpression of TaHSF3 in Arabidopsis enhanced tolerance to extreme temperatures. Frequency of survival of three TaHSF3 transgenic Arabidopsis lines was 75–91 % after heat treatment and 85–95 % after freezing treatment compared to 25 and 10 %, respectively, in wild-type plants (WT). Leaf chlorophyll contents of the transformants were higher (0.52–0.67 mg/g) than WT (0.35 mg/g) after heat treatment, and the relative electrical conductivities of the transformants after freezing treatment were lower (from 17.56 to 18.6 %) than those of WT (37.5 %). The TaHSF3 gene from wheat therefore confers tolerance to extreme temperatures in transgenic Arabidopsis by activating HSPs, such as HSP70.  相似文献

Stage of maturity at the time of harvest is considered as one of the factors influencing the nutritive value of crop residues. Thus this study was carried out to assess the effect of harvesting maize at different stages of grain maturity on yield and quality of maize grain and stover. The maize crop was harvested at grain moisture content of 28–30, 20–23 and 10–12%, which were designated as Stages I, II and III, respectively. Grain yield, standardised to 12.5% moisture content, showed an increasing trend, whereas cob, stover, total crop residue and total biomass dry matter (DM) yield showed a decreasing trend with increasing stage of maturity (p>0.05). The declining trend in stover yield with increased stage of maturity was due mainly to leaf loss. There was a significant decrease (p<0.05) in crop residue–grain ratio and leaf–stem ratio and a significant increase in the harvest index and hectolitre weight of the grain as the grain moisture content decreased from about 30 to 10%. Maize stover harvested at Stage I had significantly higher (p<0.05) ash content than those harvested at Stages II and III. The crude protein (CP) content was significantly lower, whereas the neutral detergent fibre and cellulose contents were higher (p<0.05) in Stage III than in Stages I and II. There was a decreasing trend in in sacco DM degradability with increasing stage of maturity. The washing loss, potential degradability and effective DM degradability at 0.03 h−1 rumen outflow rate were higher (p<0.05) in Stage I than in Stages II and III. The volume of gas produced after 3, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h of incubation was higher (p<0.05) in Stage I than in Stages II and III. The a value (the intercept of the gas production curve) and the gas production potential (a+b) were higher (p<0.05) in Stage I than in Stage III. Reduction in the nutritive value of stover with increasing stage of maturity was characterised by reduction in CP contents and increasing concentration of fibrous constituents. These were reflections of changes in the morphological composition of stover and losses of nutrients within the morphological fractions with increasing stage of maturity.  相似文献

A straightforward method for synthesizing ortho-naphthoquinones was identified using an easily available cobalt–Schiff base complex. Efficient oxidation of phenols to ortho-naphthoquinones was useful in obtaining compounds with potent biological activity for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Among these compounds, the compound 4h effectively inhibited the proliferation of different AML cell lines in vitro. Further in vivo antitumor studies indicated that 4h at 40 mg/kg/d led to tumor regression in led to tumor regression in an MV4-11 xenograft model without evident toxicity. The effect of main beverage emulsion components namely Arabic gum (7–13% w/w), xanthan gum (0.1–0.3% w/w) and orange oil (6–10% w/w) on physicochemical properties of orange beverage emulsion was determined by using a three-factor central composite design (CCD). The reduced models with high R2 (?0.80) values and non significant (p > .05) lack of fit were significantly (p < .05) fitted to the experimental data, thus ensuring a satisfactory fitness of the regression models relating the response to independent variables. The quadratic effect of xanthan gum had a significant (p < .05) term in all reduced models. The independent variables had the most significant (p < .05) effect on turbidity loss rate and viscosity ratio. The overall optimum region resulted in the desirable orange beverage emulsion was predicted at a combined level of 13% (w/w) Arabic gum, 0.3% (w/w) xanthan gum and 10% (w/w) orange oil.  相似文献
