In 1984 we reported a ring chromosome 21 in a normal woman with recurrent fetal wastage (Kleczkowska and Fryns, 1984). A 46,XY normal fetal karyotype was found after prenatal diagnosis at 14 1/2 weeks in a third pregnancy of this woman. In the present paper we report the prenatal diagnosis of a 21/21 translocation in a female fetus from her fourth pregnancy.  相似文献

Summary Chromosomal analysis of lymphocytes and fibroblasts in a slightly retarded 7-month-old female infant with some minor malformations showed a mosaicism 45,XX,G-/46,XX,Gr. The ring chromosome was identified as No. 21 by banding technique.
Zusammenfassung Chromosomenuntersuchungen an Lymphocyten und Fibroblasten bei einem 7 Monate alten Mädchen mit leichter statomotorischer Entwicklungsverzögerung und degenerativen Stigmata zeigten ein Mosaik 45,XX,G-/46,XX,Gr. Durch die Bandentechnik mit Trypsinbehandlung konnte das Ringchromosom als Nr.21 identifiziert werden.

Cohesin is an evolutionarily conserved multiprotein complex required to establish and maintain sister chromatid cohesion. Here, we report the cloning and initial characterization of the Drosophila homologue of the fission yeast rad21 cohesin subunit, called Drad21. The Drad21 coding region was localized to centromeric heterochromatin and encodes a 715 amino acid (aa) protein with 42% aa identity to vertebrate Rad21p-homologues, 25% with Scc1p/Mcd1p (S. cerevisiae) and 28% with Rad21p (S. pombe). Sequences with similarity to the sites of proteolytic cleavage identified in Scc1p/Mcd1p are not evident in DRAD21. Northern blot and mRNA in-situ studies show that Drad21 is developmentally regulated, with high levels of expression in early embryogenesis, in S-phase cells of proliferating imaginal tissues, and in the early endocycling cells of the embryonic gut.  相似文献

Summary Clinical, cytogenetic, autoradiographic, fluorescence microscopic and dermatoglyphic data of a boy with 48,XYY,21+ karyotype are reported. The child had some clinical anomalies common in Down's syndrome. DNA replication of the 2 Y chromosomes was synchronous in all labelled metaphases. It was possible to distinguish the two Y's from the pairs No. 21-22 under the fluorescence microscope and single as well as double Y bodies were demonstrated in buccal mucosa cells. Dermatoglyphic investigation revealed some features typical for mongolism.  相似文献

ARHGAP21 is a 217 kDa RhoGAP protein shown to modulate cell migration through the control of Cdc42 and FAK activities. In the present work a 250 kDa-ARHGAP21 was identified by mass spectrometry. This modified form is differentially expressed among cell lines and human primary cells. Co-immunoprecipitations and in vitro SUMOylation confirmed ARHGAP21 specific modification by SUMO2/3 and mapped the SUMOylation site to ARHGAP21 lysine K1443. Immunofluorescence staining revealed that ARHGAP21 co-localizes with SUMO2/3 in the cytoplasm and membrane compartments. Interestingly, our results suggest that ARHGAP21 SUMOylation may be related to cell proliferation. Therefore, SUMOylation of ARHGAP21 may represent a way of guiding its function.  相似文献

The autosomal tetranucleotide short tandem repeat loci D21S1435, D21S1411 and D21S1412 were analyzed in samples of unrelated 200 Korean individuals. The loci showed no significant deviations from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium. Alleles were assigned according to the International Society for Forensic Haemogenetics (ISFH) recommendations. The power of discrimination of the analyzed markers was found to be high for the populations, thereby facilitating the validation and efficiency of these STR markers in forensic human identification and paternity testing. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the nomenclature and the allele frequency data for these three STR loci in Korean population.  相似文献
