Inter-racial grafts between high and low Δ1-THC strains of Cannabis sativa, as well as cross-grafts with two Humulus (hop) species have been effected. C. sativa strains continue to produce essentially their own characteristic mixtures of cannabinoids, with undiminished vigour, whatever part of the graft system they form. There is no evidence of transport of intermediates or factors critical to cannabinoid formation across the grafts.  相似文献

Eight saponins were isolated from alfalfa roots (Medicago sativa). The sensitivity of Trichoderma viride to the saponin varied with the individual saponin isolate. Seven isolates appeared to contain the aglycone, medicagenic acid, and while the other did not, it inhibited the growth of the fungus at higher concentrations than the other isolates. One pair and a triplet of saponins with divergent Rfs evoked near identical biological responses suggesting structural similarity toxic to T. viride.  相似文献

为阐明紫花苜蓿(Medicago sativa L.)对铜胁迫的耐性机理,采用准确度好、分辨率高和简便快捷的傅里叶变换红外光谱法(FTIR)研究在不同铜浓度(0、1、5、20、100 mol/L)处理时紫花苜蓿根、茎、叶化学组分的变化。结果表明:随着铜处理浓度的增加,紫花苜蓿根、茎、叶生物量变化不大。其根组织在2924 cm~(-1)处峰高处呈现出先下降后上升的趋势,反映了在低铜(5 mol/L)处理条件下紫花苜蓿分泌的有机酸不断螯合Cu,造成羧酸0-H的减少,但随着Cu含量的升高,其羧酸螯合力变弱,有机酸含量渐渐升高;根组织在1381 cm~(-1)处峰高先下降后上升,反映了含油脂化合物含量先下降后升高。可能与植物在细胞壁结构上增强抗逆性有一定关系,即低Cu处理下细胞壁可能通过提高阳离子交换能力(CEC),增强了耐Cu性;茎组织在2924,1643,1381,1064 cm~(-1)等处峰高无明显变化;叶组织所有峰值在低浓度(5 mol/L)Cu处理下变化不明显,高浓度(5 moL/L)Cu处理下所有峰值先升后降,随着这可能与可溶性糖及可溶性蛋白质等物质含量都呈现先升后降的趋势有关。这表明紫花苜蓿通过根部有机酸含量的变化和提高细胞壁阳离子交换能力,将吸收的Cu大部分积累在根部,阻止Cu向地上部分运输,有效地保护了植物地上部分组织。  相似文献

Stem segments taken from Avena sativa plants grown at 10°, 20° or 30° varied in their phospholipid composition depending on the growth temperature; as temperature was lowered, there was a shift towards a greater proportion of unsaturated fatty acids. A significant increase was observed in the concentration of linolenic acid (18:3) as growth temperature was lowered. Although prolonged treatment of oat plants with GA3 produced marked changes in phospholipid composition of stem segments, these changes did not always accompany the GA3-induced growth response of segments. Treatment of stem segments with GA3 for only 20 hr produced a significant growth response with little or no effect on phospholipid composition over this time. The data support the hypothesis that GA3-induced growth in Avena stem segments can occur without a concomitant change in phospholipid composition.  相似文献

A waxy fraction obtained by column chromatography of the essential oil of Cannabis sativa consists of n-alkanes ranging from C9 to C39, 2-methyl and 3-methyl alkanes and some dimethyl alkanes. Nicotianamine is an intermediate for the biosynthesis of mugineic acid-family phytosiderophores (MAs) in the Gramineae and a key substance for iron metabolism in dicots. Nicotianamine synthase catalyzes the formation of nicotianamine from S-adenosylmethionine. Nicotianamine synthase activity was induced in barley roots at the 3rd day after withholding Fe supply and declined within one day followmg the supply of Fe3+-epihydroxymugineic acid. The induction of nicotianamine synthase activity by Fe-deficiency was observed also in sorghum, maize, and rye, and the level of nicotianamine synthase activity was highly associated with the MAs secreted among graminaceous plant tested. Ageratum conyzoides L. (billy goat weed; Asteraceae) is an annual invasive weed native of tropical America and has now naturalized worldwide, particularly in Southeast Asia. The present study investigated the nature and potential of root-mediated allelopathic interference of A. conyzoides against rice (Oryza sativa). Root and shoot length and biomass accumulation of rice were significantly reduced (by 18–30%) when grown in the rhizosphere soil of the weed indicating the release of putative allelochemicals from the weed into the soil. The growth of rice was also progressively reduced in the soil amended with increasing amounts of root residues (5, 10 and 20 g kg−1 soil) of A. conyzoides. The addition of activated charcoal, an inert material with high affinity for organic biomolecules, partly ameliorated the negative effects of root residues amended in the soil. Further, there was no negative effect on the availability of soil nutrients in the root-amended soils. These were rather nutrient rich with greater electrical conductivity, and higher amount of organic matter, thus indicating no role in observed growth reduction. The reduction in allelopathic effects of root residue upon charcoal addition further indicated that putative phytotoxins released from the weed roots are water-soluble phenolic compounds. A significant amount of water-soluble phenolics were present in rhizosphere (∼6-times higher) and root-amended soils (∼5–10-fold higher) and their content was reduced (to ∼3.6–7.0-fold higher) when charcoal was added. The observed growth reduction in Ageratum rhizospheric or root-amended soils was concomitant with the amount of phenolic compounds. Upon HPLC analyses, these were identified as p-coumaric acid, gallic acid, ferulic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and anisic acid. Under laboratory conditions, these phenolic acids reduced the root length and seedling weight of rice individually as well as in equimolar mixture, though no synergistic effect was noticed. The study concludes that root exudates and residues of A. conyzoides suppress the growth of rice by releasing phenolic allelochemicals into the soil rhizosphere and not through alteration of soil nutrients, and allelopathy plays a significant role in root-mediated negative interference of A. conyzoides.  相似文献

Static and suspension tissue cultures of Medicago sativa were initiated from sterile seedlings, excised roots and aerial portions of the seedlings. Flask suspension cultures containing chlorophyll were also established. The various tissues were harvested after 30 days, growth rates were determined, and the tissue was later lyophilized. The lyophilized tissues from various batches were extracted separately with 70% EtOH. The betaine mixture was isolated from these extracts and from seeds of the plant as their tetraphenylborate salts. The betaines were separated from the latter complex via ion exchange and column chromatography and were identified by standard procedures. All of the tissues, regardless of origin, produced choline. Only chlorophyllous tissue biosynthesized stachydrine.  相似文献

Two carbohydrate-protein fractions, isolated from Cannabis sativa L. by extraction with water and chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, contained arabinose, galactose, glucose, mannose, galacturonic acid, 2-acetamido-2-deoxyglucose, and 2-acetamido-2-deoxygalactose. The structure of the carbohydrate moieties was investigated by methylation analysis and Smith degradation. A high percentage of end-groups indicates a large degree of branching, glucose and galactose being the main branch-points, linked at C-3 and C-6. The hexoses are also present as unbranched residues in the chain, largely as (1→3)- and (1→4)-linked units and as end-groups. Arabinofuranosyl units constitute the main part of the non-reducing end-groups, and are also present as part of the chain. The polysaccharide chains are probably linked to protein through the hydroxyl group of hydroxyproline.  相似文献

The amino acid sequence of plastocyanin from lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) was determined by using a Beckman 890C automatic sequencer and by dansyl-phenylisothiocyanate analysis of peptides obtained by enzymic digestion of purified CNBr fragments. The protein consists of a single polypeptide chain of 99 residues, and shows close homology with other higher plant plastocyanins. The data are discussed in relation to the possible residues involved in the binding of copper in plastocyanin.  相似文献

Aqueous extraction of air dried Cannabis sativa (marijuana) yields, after dialysis, a mixture of high molecular weight carbohydrate-containing components. This mixture has very potent intraocular pressure-lowering activity (antiglaucoma) when tested by intravenous injection into rabbits. Partial purification by DEAE-cellulose and gel filtration chromatography has yielded very active material (lowers intraocular pressure maximally at 1 μg/animal) with an estimated molecular weight of about 500 000. The active material contains mostly carbohydrate with a small amount of protein. Rhamnose, galactose and uronic acid are the major sugar constituents. The composition of components suggests that the active material is a pectic polysaccharide possibly derived from the cell wall.  相似文献

Arsenate (As(V)) transport into plant cells has been well studied. A study on rice (Oryza sativa L.) showed that arsenite is transported across the plasma membrane via glycerol transporting channels. Previous studies reported that the dimethylarsinic acid (DMAA) and monomethylarsonic acid (MMAA) uptake in duckweed (Spirodela polyrhiza L.) differed from that of As(V), and was unaffected by phosphate (H2PO4). This article reports the transport mechanisms of DMAA and MMAA in rice roots. Linear regression analysis showed that the DMAA and MMAA uptake in rice roots increased significantly (p ≤ 0.0002 and ≤0.0001 for DMAA and MMAA, respectively) with the increase of exposure time. Concentration-dependent influx of DMAA and MMAA showed that the uptake data were well described by Michaelis-Menten kinetics. The MMAA influx was higher than that of DMAA. The DMAA and MMAA uptake in rice roots were decreased significantly (p ≤ 0.0001 and ≤0.0077 for DMAA and MMAA, respectively) with the increase of glycerol concentration indicating that DMAA and MMAA were transported into rice roots using the same mechanisms of glycerol. Glycerol is transported into plant cells by aquaporins, and DMAA and MMAA are transported in a dose-dependent manner of glycerol which reveals that DMAA and MMAA are transported into rice roots through glycerol transporting channels. The DMAA and MMAA concentration in the solution did not affect the inhibition of their uptake rate by glycerol.  相似文献

The influence of two strains of Trichoderma (T. harzianum strain T22 and T. atroviride strain P1) on the growth of lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa L.) irrigated with As-contaminated water, and their effect on the uptake and accumulation of the contaminant in the plant roots and leaves, were studied. Accumulation of this non-essential element occurred mainly into the root system and reduced both biomass development and net photosynthesis rate (while altering the plant P status). Plant growth-promoting fungi (PGPF) of both Trichoderma species alleviated, at least in part, the phytotoxicity of As, essentially by decreasing its accumulation in the tissues and enhancing plant growth, P status and net photosynthesis rate. Our results indicate that inoculation of lettuce with selected Trichoderma strains may be helpful, beside the classical biocontrol application, in alleviating abiotic stresses such as that caused by irrigation with As-contaminated water, and in reducing the concentration of this metalloid in the edible part of the plant.  相似文献

A new glycosylated triterpene 1 was identified as 3-O-[β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-d-glucopyranosyl]-11-methoxy-16-hydroxy-17-acetoxy hederagenin from an ethanolic extract of seeds of Nigella sativa Linn. Identification of the naturally acetylated saponin was based on chemical and spectroscopic analyses including FABMS, 1H, 13C, and 2D NMR and DEPT. The saponin was a penta hydroxy pentacyclic triterpene, in which one hydroxyl group was acetylated and other one was methylated naturally.  相似文献

Alkylresorcinols, produced by various plants, bacteria, and fungi, are bioactive compounds possessing beneficial activities for human health, such as anti-cancer activity. In rice, they accumulate in seedlings, contributing to protection against fungi. Alkylresorcylic acids, which are carboxylated forms of alkylresorcinols, are unstable compounds and decarboxylate readily to yield alkylresorcinols. Genome mining of the rice Oryza sativa identified two type III polyketide synthases, named ARAS1 (alkylresorcylic acid synthase) and ARAS2, that catalyze the formation of alkylresorcylic acids. Both enzymes condensed fatty acyl-CoAs with three C2 units from malonyl-CoA and cyclized the resulting tetraketide intermediates via intramolecular C-2 to C-7 aldol condensation. The alkylresorcylic acids thus produced were released from the enzyme and decarboxylated non-enzymatically to yield alkylresorcinols. This is the first report on a plant type III polyketide synthase that produces tetraketide alkylresorcylic acids as major products.  相似文献

Molecular allozyme markers of three polymorphic isozymes were used to estimate the genetic diversity among the seed progeny in fragmented Estonian populations of sickle medic Medicago sativa ssp. falcata L. depending on the population size and the isolation degree. Genetic diversity He was high in all populations, ranging between 0.795 and 0.893. No correlation between the genetic diversity measures and population size or isolation distance was found. Even the smallest population had equally high genetic diversity as about a hundred times larger population. Genetic differentiation of populations into two major groups was associated with the geographic position of populations, except one remote population. Elimination of seed progeny of reduced fitness by embryo abortion and continuous yearlong contribution of the highly heterozygous progeny through the soil seed bank are considered as important supplementary factors that have contributed to maintaining high levels of genetic diversity in populations of sickle medic in addition to its autotetraploid nature and perennial life form.  相似文献
