After adjusting to embryonic material a method, generally used in Man, for the blood volume measurement (dilution of radio-iodinated 131I human albumin) it was possible to determine that the grafting on the chorioallantois membrane of homologous adult spleen fragments provoke a blood volume augmentation in the host embryo. The rate of this increasing, which seems to be partly caused by a blood dilution, and the spleen enhancement intensity are highly linked.  相似文献

In a single-case study, the effects of very long-lasting physical exercise, namely a 24-h-long ultramarathon, on the human electroencephalogram (EEG) were evaluated. While only effects of relatively short exercise have been reported earlier, we focused on the changes induced by these long-lasting physical requires. EEG was recorded repeatedly using an auditory oddball paradigm, and event-related potentials (ERPs), as well as changes in the current oscillatory brain activity (in particular, event-related desynchronization, ERD), were repeatedly monitored. While an increase in several attention-related ERP parameters was reported for shorter exercises, the results of our study show that cognitive performance-related EEG phenomena slowly decreased throughout the race. The P300 amplitude decreased, and the P300 latency increased with ongoing exercise duration. In addition, the difference between standard and target tones at N200b, as well as the difference in the lower alpha ERD, decreased with time, indicating a reduced automatic stimulus evaluation. Eight male subjects (mean age 24.1 +/- 2.6 years) performed at intervals of 2 weeks successively a 3 h and two 2 h runs of different running speed. The days following the running there were moderate elevations of C-reactive protein, haptoglobin, alpha-1-acid glycoprotein, coeruloplasmin, transferrin, alpha-1-antitrypsin and plasminogen. There were small or no changes of albumin, alpha-2-macroglobulin and hemopexin. The elevations of the "acute phase reactants" were examined in three male subjects following a 2 h run before and after an endurance training period of 9 weeks. This demonstrated a decreased acute phase response after training as illustrated by the changes of C-reactive protein, haptoglobin and alpha-1-acid glycoprotein in spite of higher posttraining running speeds. Well-trained athletes have elevated levels of the serum protease inhibitors alpha-1-antitrypsin, alpha-2-macroglobulin and C1-inhibitor. These antiproteolytic glycoproteins might limit exercise-induced inflammatory reactions.  相似文献
