During two different epidemics that started in August–September, 1980, 140 and 6 multidrug-resistant strains ofSalmonella oranienburg were isolated from a Children's Hospital in New Delhi (epidemic 1) and H.N. Das Hospital in Bombay (epidemic 2) respectively. Out of 140, 123 strains showed high levels of resistance to ampicillin, kanamycin, streptomycin, sulfamethoxazole, tetracycline, and trimethoprim. All six strains of epidemic 2 and two strains of epidemic 1 were also found resistant to chloramphenicol in addition to the above antibiotics. The genetic characterization of conjugative R-plasmids harbored by these strains revealed that, while strains of epidemic 1 carry a fi, 96 megadalton, an unclassified plasmid, the strains isolated during epidemic 2 contain a fi, 62 megadalton plasmid of incompatibility group I1. All the six strains of epidemic 2 were found to produce bacteriocin of Col Ib group. Plasmid transfer studies revealed that the genes for antibiotic resistance and bacteriocin production were coded on a single plasmid of 62 megadalton. The data show the significance of detailed genetic analysis while dealing with the clonal outbreaks due to same resistant serotypes.  相似文献

Regarded as an emerging diarrheal micropathogen, Vibrio cholerae serogroup O139 was first identified in 1992 and has become an important cause of cholera epidemics over the last two decades. O139 strains have been continually isolated since O139 cholera appeared in China in 1993, from sporadic cases and dispersed foodborne outbreaks, which are the common epidemic types of O139 cholera in China. Antibiotic resistance profiles of these epidemic strains are required for development of clinical treatments, epidemiological studies and disease control. In this study, a comprehensive investigation of the antibiotic resistance of V. cholerae O139 strains isolated in China from 1993 to 2009 was conducted. The initial O139 isolates were resistant to streptomycin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and polymyxin B only, while multidrug resistance increased suddenly and became common in strains isolated after 1998. Different resistance profiles were observed in the isolates from different years. In contrast, most V. cholerae O1 strains isolated in the same period were much less resistant to these antibiotics and no obvious multidrug resistance patterns were detected. Most of the non-toxigenic strains isolated from the environment and seafood were resistant to four antibiotics or fewer, although a few multidrug resistant strains were also identified. These toxigenic O139 strains exhibited a high prevalence of the class I integron and the SXT element, which were rare in the non-toxigenic strains. Molecular subtyping of O139 strains showed highly diverse pulsed-field gel electrophoresis patterns, which may correspond to the epidemic state of sporadic cases and small-scale outbreaks and complex resistance patterns. Severe multidrug resistance, even resistance transfers based on mobile antibiotic resistance elements, increases the probability of O139 cholera as a threat to public health. Therefore, continual epidemiological and antibiotic sensitivity surveillance should focus on the occurrence of multidrug resistance and frequent microbial population shifts in O139 strains.  相似文献

The use of organomercurials in liquid detergents and disinfectants promoted resistance to mercury among bacteria. Dental amalgam and industries using mercury are the main source of human exposure to mercury vapor. Release of mercury from dental amalgam contributes to the enrichment of the intestinal flora with mercury resistance plasmids which may be associated with antibiotic resistance. The aim of our study was to evaluate the frequency of E. coli strains resistant to mercury and other antimicrobial agents currently used in therapy. The bacterial mercury and ampicillin, cephalexin, cefotaxime, gentamicin, tetracycline and chloramphenicol resistance was tested against 363 E. coli strains obtained from faeces and urine between 1999-2000. According to the guidelines suggested by NCCLS (1998), minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined on Mueller-Hinton agar, using the dilution technique with an inoculum of about 10(5) CFU. The MICs were read after 18 h incubation at 37 degrees C as the lowest concentration that inhibited the development of visible growth. Plasmids in enterobacteria may carry genes encoding resistance to both mercury and antibiotics. Among the tested E. coli strains, mercury resistance rose to 29.2%. Mercury resistance in E. coli is significantly linked to multiresistance to antimicrobial agents. Between 91.5-23.6 of mercury chloride resistant isolates were also resistant to the tested antibiotics. The increased use of non antibiotic antimicrobial agents is a possible selection factor for antibiotic-resistant strains in clinical and domestic environments.  相似文献

The bacteriological quality of some rural water supplies in Port Harcourt was monitored over a 3 month period. The supplies were unsatisfactory as judged by standard plate counts (10(3)/ml) and the presence of presumptive and faecal coliforms and Staphylococcus aureus. The recovery of potentially pathogenic bacteria (e.g. Pseudomonas aeruginosa) further substantiated the existence of health hazards. The most frequently isolated coliforms were Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Coliform contamination was greater in well water than in river or stream water samples. An antibiotic sensitivity test revealed that 17.5-27.2% of E. coli strains were resistant to three or more antibiotics. Escherichia coli isolated from well water samples exhibited the greatest degree of multiple resistance. Some strains were resistant to all the six antibiotics tested. The danger of an epidemic of waterborne diseases in the communities as a result of drinking water from these non-potable sources is noted.  相似文献

The structure of the causative agents isolated from patients with pyoinflammatory infections in 1980-1983 was analysed. It was shown that the surgical and urological infections were mainly caused by gram-negative bacteria. The other pyoinflammatory infections were mainly due to gram-positive cocci. A relatively high frequency of the strains of gram-negative bacteria, especially among Pseudomonas spp. and Enterobacter spp., resistant to aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as gentamicin, sisomycin and tobramycin with preserved sensitivity to amikacin and netilmicin in the majority of the strains was shown. Among the beta-lactam antibiotics cephotaxim and cephalotin were most active against gram-negative bacteria and staphylococci, respectively. The majority of the antibiotic resistant strains of gram-negative bacteria had analogous structures and levels of resistance to 7-12 antibiotics which might indicate the occurrence of 1-2 resistance plasmids among the clinical strains.  相似文献

Lipophilic species of Corynebacterium are increasing problem in hospital infections. The aim of this study was to evaluate occurrence of these microorganisms in the materials taken from patients in the day of admission and during the hospitalization as well as comparison of their antibiotic sensitivity. The investigation included 65 strains isolated from hospitalized patients and 48 strains isolated from unchanged skin. Using Api Coryne test 5 species were identified. C. urealyticum dominated, the other were C. subsp. lipophilum and C. jeikeium. Among strains isolated from unchanged diseased skin the most C. jeikeium and C. accolens occurred. All strains were sensitive to glycopeptide, quinupristin/dalphopristin. The strains isolated from hospitalized patients were usually sensitive to fuside acid, doxycycline as well as tetracycline. Strains isolated from unchanged skin were sensitive to almost all tested antibiotics. In the group of 65 strains isolated from hospitalized patients 99.0% were multiresistant. In the group of strains isolated from unchanged skin only two strains were multiresistant. Differences in antibiotic sensitivity among analysed Corynebacterium sp. were confirmed. Majority of the "hospital strains" were characterized by multiresistance. Basing on these results it is possible to suppose, that multiresistance is main factor that favours lipophilic Corynebacterium species in the process of colonization of mucous membranes, skins as well as developing infections.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate antibiotic susceptibility of Enterococcus sp. strains isolated from two hospitals in ?ód?, during 2005-2006. The second goal was to determine possible transmission of these strains within hospital wards by using melting profile PCR. Enterococcal strains were identified to species according standard microbiological methods. There was isolated 159 strains of E. faecalis, 51 strains of E. faecium and two E. avium, 1 E. durans. Susceptibility to antimicrobial agents was tested by disc diffusion method. None of these strains was resistant to vancomycin, teicoplanin or linezolid. There was high percentage of strains resistant to aminoglicosides, 22% of E. faecalis strains, and 54.9% of E. faecium strains, respectively. Additionally it was shown that 11.7% of E. faecium is resistant to chinuprisin-dalfopristin. The strains with similar pattern of resistance to antibiotics and fenotypic characteristics were genotyped by mpPCR. This technique was useful to confirm relatedness of bacterial strains suspected of being spread within hospital wards.  相似文献

目的:研究本院下呼吸道感染流行菌及其耐药性,为合理使用抗生素提供依据.方法:对下呼吸道感染流行菌进行统计分析.结果:检出病原菌716株,革兰阴性杆菌为主要菌种,而G杆菌中铜绿假单胞菌占13.69%,肺炎克雷伯菌占8.8%,不动杆菌属占8.4%.除嗜麦芽寡养单胞菌外,G杆菌对亚胺培南、阿米卡星敏感性高.G 球菌以表皮葡萄球菌、溶血葡萄球菌为主要菌种,耐甲氧西林表皮葡萄球菌(MRSS)的检出率为85.3%,耐甲氧西林溶血葡萄球菌的检出率为91.6%.真菌分离呈增多趋势,占所有病原菌的23.28%.结论:下呼吸道感染流行菌药敏显示耐药水平较多,临床医生应根据药敏结果合理选择抗生素,以利于疾病的治疗.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to isolate S. aureus strains resistant to antibiotics, characterize the genotype profiles of resistance staphylococci, and evaluate the efficacy of antiseptic agents and disinfectants used in two public hospitals of Vitoria da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil. Clinical samples were obtained from ICU environments and equipment surfaces in two public hospitals in Vitoria da Conquista. Broth cultures were plated onto mannitol salt agar, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed by the broth microdilution method according to CLSI. MRSA strains were submitted to PCR for detecting the mecA gene. PCR products were purified and sequenced for SCCmec type identification. Moreover, the strains were tested for efficacy of different disinfectant solutions. S. aureus were isolated from 31 and 67 sites in each hospital, respectively. Among the isolates from hospital 1, 07 (22.6%) were resistant to oxacillin while 28 (41.8%) were resistant in hospital 2. Thirty-one were positive for the mecA gene. All isolates showed SCCmec type III genotype characteristics of the Brazilian epidemic clone. In disinfectant tests, sodium hypochlorite (0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%), 2% chlorhexidine gluconate, quaternary ammonium, peracetic acid and formaldehyde were effective against the isolates tested. The strains showed higher resistance to vinegar (4% acetic acid), alcohol and glutaraldehyde. The findings of this study should assist in reducing the occurrence of nosocomial infections and therefore the morbidity, mortality and socio-economic burden caused by prolonged hospitalization.  相似文献

The results of the statistical treatment of data on the analyses of 766 children, the residents of Moscow, for dysbacteriosis are presented; of these children, 34 were aged up to 1 month and 732, from 1 month to 1 year. This study revealed that in the fist year of life in children with dysbacteriosis the dominating bacterial species were S. aureus, bacteria of the genus Klebsiella and fungi of the genus Candida. From the intestine of children aged up to 1 month S. aureus and Klebsiella were isolated more often than from children aged up to 1 year. The results of the study of antibioticograms demonstrated that 21.6% of S. aureus strains and 74.4% of Klebsiella strains were multiresistant to antibiotics. Taking into account the fact that multiresistance to antibiotics was characteristic of hospital strains, the suggestion was made that the isolated strains were of hospital origin and such strains could colonize the intestine of children in maternity hospitals.  相似文献

Faecal samples from 95 healthy pigs and samples of jejunal content from 85 piglets suffering from colienterotoxaemia were tested for the presence of drug resistant E. coli strains. Practically all pigs in both groups harboured E. coli strains resistant to one or more of the 6 antibiotics/chemotherapeutic agents tested (Oxytetracycline, streptomycin, sulphaisodimidin, neomycin, ampicillin, chloramphenicol). Almost 100% of healthy and approx. 90% of diseased pigs harboured strains resistant to Oxytetracycline, streptomycin and sulphaisodimidin. Pigs with strains resistant to neomycin, ampicillin and chloramphenicol were less frequently found. The predominant coliform flora consisted of E. coli strains” resistant to Oxytetracycline, streptomycin and sulphaisodimidin in 71% to 81% of diseased pigs and in 47% to 69% of the healthy pigs. In diseased pigs ¾ of the animals had a coliform flora dominated by neomycinresistant E. coli strains. Of the 721 resistant E. coli strains isolated from healthy pigs, 11% were single resistant while the corresponding figure for the 518 resistant strains isolated from diseased pigs was 6%. Thus 89% and 94% of strains showed simultaneous resistance to 2 or more antibiotics. E. coli strains resistant to 3 or more drugs were found in approx. 60% and 70% of the isolates from healthy and diseased animals, respectively. Oxytetracycline/streptomycin/sulphaisodimidin resistance was most commonly found, approx. 22% and 38% of the strains from healthy and diseased pigs, respectively, showing this resistance pattern. Transmission of drug resistance which was examined in E. coli strains originating from the diseased pigs was demonstrated in approx. 76% of the isolates. The incidence of drug resistance transfer in single, double, triple and quadruple resistant strains was 11%, 68%, 97% and 98%, respectively.  相似文献

Resistance of the main causative agents of purulent septic infections such as pneumonia, meningitis, sepsis, etc. to 11 chemotherapeutic drugs was studied. The pathogens were isolated from autopsies of 203 newborns who died within 1981 to 1987. Among 2978 isolates belonging to Enterobacteriaceae (2466 strains) and Pseudomonadaceae (512 strains) which constituted 88% of all the isolates, strains with multiple resistance predominated: 90% of the strains resistant to 4 or more antibiotics, 77% of the strains resistant to 6 or more antibiotics and 48% of the strains resistant to 8 or more antibiotics. The highest number of the isolates were resistant to 8 and 9 chemotherapeutics (19 and 20%, respectively). 84% of all the isolates belonged to 4 genera: Klebsiella (34%), Escherichia (21%), Serratia (14%) and Pseudomonas (15%). They were characterized by the highest resistance spectra. In all the cases massive colonization of the intestine by the strains with multiple resistance which caused purulent septic infections was observed. The most frequent variants of the drug resistance combination were determined. In the total frequency of the isolate with multiple resistance no significant differences were detected in 1981 and thereafter. In 1986-1987 the frequency of S. marcescens strains increased 3-5 times with simultaneous broadening of their drug resistance spectra. Strains of S. marcescens and K. pneumoniae with multiple drug resistance endemic for definite hospitals were detected.  相似文献

In this study, the frequencies of 111 antibiotic-resistant Gram-negative bacteria obtained from cultured sea bass were investigated. All the strains were identified and tested whether they were resistive against ten different antibiotics or not. The results showed that most of the bacteria were resistant to trimethoprim-sulphamethoxazole, cephalotin, tetracycline and streptomycin. It was found multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR) index values ranging from 0.3–0.8 for the bacteria isolated from gill. A large number ofPseudomanas putida (25.2%),Moellerella wisconsensis (18%) andPseudomonas fluorescens (10.81%) were identified. Also, strains ofRalstonia pickettii (9%),Vibrio fluvialis (8.1%),Pantoea sp. (7.2%) andErwinia sp. (5.4%) were found. This study suggested that Turkish sea bass farms have antibacterial multiresistance bacteria and may play as a reservoirs response for disease pathogen bacteria.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of isolation and antimicrobial resistance testing of bacterial strains isolated from clinical specimens from patients hospitalized in three Intensive Care Units in Wroc?aw. The susceptibility of bacteria (107 strains) to selected antibiotics was determined. The results clearly show that non-fermentative rods were identified as the main agents causing pneumonia (58% of isolates). The second commonest pathogens were Gram-positive cocci (29%). The P. aeruginosa and E. cloacae strains were resistant to ampicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanate, cefuroxime and cefotaxime. All isolates of A. baumanii were susceptible only to imipenem. The rods of K. pneumoniae and E. coli were resistant to ampicillin, about 55% strains of both bacteria were sensitive to other antibiotics, except piperacillin/tazobactam, imipenem and ciprofloxacin. About 90% of methicillin resistant S. epidermidis strains were resistant to all antibiotics, except vancomycin (100% isolates were sensitive). ESBL were detected among E. cloace, K. pneumoniae and E. coli. We found P. aeruginosa rods producing MBL.  相似文献

Resistance to 14 antibiotics was tested in 270 Salmonella strains isolated from different aquatic environments. All the strains were sensitive to nalidixic acid (30 micrograms) and cephalothin (30 micrograms) but more than 90% were resistant to tetracycline (30 micrograms). The percentage of strains resistant to other antimicrobial substances depended on the antibiotic and on the isolation source. Twenty-four resistance patterns were recorded in strains isolated from three environmental sources. The only multi-resistance detected in the three ecosystems was that of sulphadiazine and tetracycline (about 20%). The serotypes most frequently detected with multi-resistance to different antibiotics were Salmonella typhimurium and Salm. blockley.  相似文献

The susceptibility to selected chemotherapeutic agents was determined in 100 strains of Staphylococcus aureus methicillin-resistant (MRSA) isolated from clinical materials in 1991-1992 (50 strains) and in 1997 (50 strains). Two methods were used for the determination: disc method and antibiotic dilution in agar. The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined for vancomycin, teicoplanin, furazolidone, nitrofurantoin, ofloxacin, gentamicin, netilmicin and trimethoprim. The concentrations of the chemotherapeutics in the substrate ranged from 0.125 to 512 mg/l. The obtained results served for drawing of the following conclusions: all studied MRSA strains isolated in 1991-1992 and in 1997 were sensitive to glycopeptide antibiotics: vancomycin and teicoplanin, to nitrofurans: nitrofurantoin and furazolidone, and to fusidic acid. MRSA strains isolated in 1991-1992 were sensitive to ofloxacin, but in 1997 about 80% of the strains were resistant to that antibiotic, and this resistance was noted in S. aureus strains with homogeneous resistance to methicillin. Increasing frequency of resistance to mupirocin was found, in 1991-1992 4% of the strains were resistant, and in 1997 the resistance of MRSA to that antibiotic was found in 12%. No changes occurred in the sensitivity of staphylococci to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (cotrimoxazole). About 94% of strains in 1991-1992 and 1997 were sensitive to that drug. The sensitivity to cotrimoxazole is connected with one of its components (trimethoprim), with 94% of MRSA strains sensitive to it.  相似文献

The activity of antimicrobial agents against soil isolates of N. brasiliensis was studied by determination of the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) and disk diffusion technique, according to the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS). The objectives were: (a) to study the patterns of sensitivity among regional strains of N. brasiliensis isolated from natural sources (soil) of different zones of Tucumán province; (b) to correlate these results with those previously obtained with regional strains of N. brasiliensis isolated from human mycetomas, as a contribution in the evaluation of the importance of the natural reservoir area of the potentially pathogen strains. The results obtained by both methods identified strains of N. brasiliensis from soils with similar patterns of susceptibility to the strains N. brasiliensis isolated from human mycetomas. This showed strains sensitive and resistant to antibiotics. The majority of the isolates of N. brasiliensis from soils showed higher susceptibilities to antibiotics than the strains isolated from human mycetomas. Among the antibiotics studied, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone and gentamicin were the most effective against all the regional strains tested, and these results are correlated with those obtained with regional strains that cause human mycetomas. The aim of this study was to evaluate the drug susceptibility of Enterococcus sp. strains isolated in 2000-2001, from patients of five Warsaw's hospitals (154 strains) and from fecal samples of healthy persons (33 strains). On biochemical reaction profiles species of clinical enterococci were identified as: E. faecalis--66.2%, E. faecium--29.2%, E. hirae--1.9%, E. gallinarum--1.3%, E. casseliflavus--0.6% and E. avium--0.6%. The species of enterococci from stool's samples were identified as: E. faecalis--28 strains, E. durans--2 strains and single strains: E. faecium, E. gallinarum and E. casseliflavus. Susceptibility to 20 antibiotics was tested by disc diffusion method. None of these 187 enterococcal strains was vancomycin resistant; 3 strains of E. gallinarum and 1--E. casseliflavus demonstrated intermediately susceptibility to vancomycin, but they were susceptible to teicoplanin--phenotype Van C. Among clinical strains were resistant to penicillin--33.3% of E. faecalis and 100% of E. faecium, to ampicillin--over 80% of E. faecium and 1 strain of E. faecalis. None of these strains produced beta-lactamase. High-level resistance to aminoglicoside was expressed by 48 strains (47.1%) E. faecalis and 36 (80%) E. faecium isolated from clinical specimens. Both--HLR to streptomycin and gentamycin were found in 28.3% of E. faecalis and 68.9% of E. faecium. Among 33 strains isolated from fecal samples of healthy persons--3 of E. faecalis were resistant to streptomycin and one was resistant to both gentamicin and streptomycin. In general, enterococcal strains isolated from samples of healthy persons were susceptible to the most of used antibiotics. But to rifampicin none of these strains were susceptible. There were about 40% of E. faecalis strains isolated from healthy persons, resistant to tetracyline.  相似文献

目的分析医院感染患者金黄色葡萄球菌的临床分布特征及耐药性变化,为临床治疗金黄色葡萄球菌感染提供依据。方法回顾性分析2012年1月至2016年12月我院从临床各类标本中分离获得的1 141株金黄色葡萄球菌,统计其在各类标本和病区中的分布特点,并用K-B法测定该菌对常用抗菌药物的敏感性。结果 5年中共分离出1 141株金黄色葡萄球菌,标本来源构成比最多的是伤口分泌物(43.3%)、呼吸道标本(24.0%)和血液标本(10.2%)。耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)共有339株,占29.7%。各年MRSA的检出数依次为53株(31.9%)、51株(26.0%)、82株(35.2%)、81株(30.3%)和72株(26.0%)。MRSA主要分离自神经外科(13.8%)、呼吸监护室(10.6%)、重症监护室(8.8%)和骨科(7.7%)。MRSA对抗菌药物的耐药性普遍高于MSSA,二者比较差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。未发现对万古霉素、利奈唑胺、替考拉宁耐药的金黄色葡萄球菌。结论 MRSA感染多发生于长期使用抗菌药物,有皮肤软组织伤口及侵入性操作的科室及患者。MRSA具有多重耐药性,应严格掌握抗菌药物的使用适应证;同时临床治疗应根据药物敏感性报告针对性地合理用药,以便及时有效地控制感染并防止耐药菌株的扩散。  相似文献
