A Gram-negative, short, rod-shaped bacterium, TSA1 T, was isolated from forest soil collected at Kyonggi University, South Korea. Assessment of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity indicated that the strain is related to Massilia niastensis 5516S-1 T (98.3%), M. haematophila CCUG 38318 T (97.9%), M. aerilata 5516S-11 T (97.9%), M. tieshanensis TS3 T (97.6%), and M. varians CCUG 3529 T (97.1%). Colonies grown on Reasoner’s 2A agar at 30°C for 2 days were transparent, white, round, smooth, and glossy. The cells grew at 10–42°C (optimum: 25–37°C) and pH 5–9 (optimum: 5–9) and in 0–2% NaCl (optimum: 0–1%). TSA1 T was able to grow on trypticase soy and nutrient agar, but not on Luria-Bertani or MacConkey agar. The strain was catalase- and oxidasepositive and able to degrade starch and casein, but not carboxymethyl cellulose. The predominant quinone of TSA1 T was Q-8, the major fatty acids were summed feature 3 and C 16:0, and the DNA G+C content was 66.7 mol%. Given these findings, we propose that this strain is a novel species of the genus Massilia. We suggest the name Massilia kyonggiensis sp. nov. (type strain, KACC 17471 T =KEMB 9005-031 T =JCM 19189 T). 相似文献

Two novel Gram-negative bacterial strains BT442T and BT584 were isolated from dry soil collected in mountains Busan and Guri, Korea during wintertime. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strains BT442T and BT584 both belong to a distinct lineage within the genus Hymenobacter (family Hymenobacteraceae, order Cytophagales, class Cytophagia). Strain BT442T was closely related to Hymenobacter soli PB17T (98.0% 16S rRNA gene similarity) and Hymenobacter terrae POA9T (97.6%). No other recognized bacterial species showed more than 97% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to strains BT442T. The genome size of strain BT442T was 5,143,362 bp. Bacterial growth was observed at 10–30 °C (optimum 25 °C), pH 6.0–8.0 (optimum pH 6.0) in R2A agar and in the presence up to 1% NaCl. The major cellular fatty acids of strains BT442T and BT584 were iso-C15:0, anteiso-C15:0 and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω6c / C16:1 ω7c). In addition, their predominant respiratory quinone was MK-7. The major polar lipids of strains BT442T and BT584 were identified to be phosphatidylethanolamine, aminophospholipid, and aminolipid. Based on the biochemical, chemotaxonomic, and phylogenetic analyses, strains BT442T and BT584 are novel bacterial species within the genus Hymenobacter, and the proposed name is Hymenobacter negativus. The strain type of Hymenobacter negativus is BT442T (=?KCTC 72902T?=?NBRC XXXXT). 相似文献

A Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped, nonspore-forming bacterial strain, designated Gsoil 357T, was isolated from soil sample of a ginseng field in Pocheon Province (South Korea). The isolate contained Q-8 as the predominant ubiquinone and iso-C16:0, iso-C17:1 9c, and iso-C15:0 as the major fatty acids. The G+C content of the genomic DNA was 69.3mol%. A phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain Gsoil 357T was most closely related to Lysobacter gummosus (97.6%) and Lysobacter antibioticus (97.6%). However, the DNA-DNA relatedness value between strain Gsoil 357T and its phylogenetically closest neighbors was less than 17%. On the basis of its phenotypic properties and phylogenetic distinctiveness, strain Gsoil 357T should be classified as representing a novel species in the genus Lysobacter, for which the name Lysobacter ginsengisoli sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is Gsoil 357T (=KCTC 12602T=DSM 18420T). 相似文献

A Gram-positive, facultatively aerobic, rod-shaped, non-motile, terminal spore-forming bacterium, designated strain G20 T, was isolated from soil collected in a mountain region of Suwon, South Korea. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity, this strain was shown to be related to Rummeliibacillus pycnus NBRC 101231 T (97.4%) and Rummeliibacillus stabekisii KSC-SF6g T (95.7%). DNA-DNA hybridization studies showed 42% and 50% similarity of strain G20 T with R. pycnus NBRC 101231 T and R. stabekisii KSC-SF6g T, respectively. The DNA G content of G20 T was 37.8 mol%, the major cellular fatty acids were iso-C 15:0 and anteiso-C 15:0, and the predominant menaquinones were MK-7 and MK-8. On the basis of phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic, and phenotypic characteristics, we propose this strain to be a novel species and the third member of genus Rummeliibacillus. We suggest the name Rummeliibacillus suwonensis sp. nov. The type strain is G20 T (KACC 17316 T =KEMB 9005-003 T =JCM 19065 T). 相似文献

A strictly aerobic, Gram-positive, motile, coccoid-shaped, halotolerant actinobacterium (10% NaCl, w/v), designated MSL-23 T, was isolated from a soil sample on Bigeum Island, Korea. Results of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis indicated that the isolate belonged to the genus Nocardioides, with the highest sequence similarity (95.63%) being to Nocardioides kribbensis KCTC 19038 T. The major menaquinone was MK-8(H 4), and the predominant cellular fatty acids were i-C 16:0, ai-C 17:0, C 18:1 ω9c and 10-methyl-C 16:0. The DNA G+C content was 69.7 mol%. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain MSL 23 T and its chemotaxonomic properties showed it to be unique in the genus Nocardioides. Phenotypic characteristics distinguished strain MSL-23 T from other Nocardioides species. On the basis of the phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic data strain MSL-23 T represents a novel species, for which the name Nocardioides halotolerans sp. nov. is proposed, with MSL-23 T (=KCTC 19274 T=DSM 19273 T) as the type strain. 相似文献

A novel bacterium, Massilia sp. BS-1, producing violacein and deoxyviolacein was isolated from a soil sample collected from Akita Prefecture, Japan. The 16S ribosomal DNA of strain BS-1 displayed 93% homology with its nearest violacein-producing neighbor, Janthinobacterium lividum. Strain BS-1 grew well in a synthetic medium, but required both L-tryptophan and a small amount of L-histidine to produce violacein. 相似文献

An actinomycete capable of lysing cyanobacteria, strain JXJ 0074 T, was isolated from a soil sample collected from Jiangxi province, south China, and characterized by using polyphasic taxonomy. The new isolate showed morphological and chemotaxonomic properties typical of members of the genus Streptomyces. Phylogenetic analysis of the near-complete 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain JXJ 0074 T should be affiliated to the genus Streptomyces and exhibited highest similarities to Streptomyces shenzhenensis DSM 42034 T (98.99 %) and Streptomyces lucensis NBRC 13056 T (98.60 %), while the similarities to other members of the genus are lower than 98.22 % similarity. However, the DNA–DNA hybridization values between strain JXJ 0074 T and S. shenzhenensis DSM 42034 T or S. lucensis NBRC 13056 T were 46.2 ± 2.6 and 32.6 ± 3.1 %, respectively. Thus, on the basis of the polyphasic data, strain JXJ 0074 T represents a novel species of the genus Streptomyces, for which the name Streptomyces jiujiangensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is JXJ 0074 T (= BCRC 16953 T = KCTC 29262 T). 相似文献

A novel, Gram-negative, bacterial strain KIS30-44 T was identified from wet forest soil collected on the Korean island of Dokdo. Growth of the strain was observed at 15?C30°C, pH 5?C9, 0?C3% NaCl, and 950 mM KNO 3. KIS30-44 T reduced nitrate to nitrogen gas. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that KIS30-44 T was phylogenetically related to Burkholderia sacchari, Burkholderia mimosarum, and Burkholderia oxyphila (98.1%, 98.0%, and 98.0% sequence similarity, respectively). The genomic G+C content was 63.5 mol%. KIS30-44 T exhibited less than 52% DNA-DNA relatedness with the type strains of 9 closely related Burkholderia species. The major isoprenoid quinone was Q-8. The polar lipid profile consisted of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and two unknown aminolipids. The major fatty acids in KIS30-44 T were C 16:0, C 18:1 ??7 c and summed feature 3 (iso-C 15:0 2-OH and C 16:1 ??7 c), and the strain contained half the amount of C 17:0 cyclo found in the 9 closely related Burkholderia species. The results of these phenotypic, 16S rRNA gene sequence, DNA-DNA hybridization, and chemotaxonomic data indicate that KIS30-44 T represents a novel species within the genus Burkholderia, for which the name Burkholderia denitrificans (Type strain KIS30-44 T =KACC 12733 T =DSM 24336 T) is proposed. 相似文献
