采用药膜法研究了福州建新和闽侯上街菜蚜茧蜂Diaeretiella rapae对杀虫剂抗药性的季节性变化。田间菜蚜茧蜂种群在网室内脱离选择压力后对杀虫剂敏感性显著升高。与敏感的F21子代的LC50相比,2002年6月8日至2004年11月18日期间,建新菜区菜蚜茧蜂对甲胺磷、氟虫腈、阿维菌素、氰戊菊酯和吡虫啉的抗性倍数分别为11.8~31.2,9.3~14.7,9.3~35.7,7.0~16.6,和13.3~30.1倍;2003年6月5日至2004年12月17日期间,上街菜区菜蚜茧蜂对甲胺磷、氟虫腈、阿维菌素、氰戊菊酯和吡虫啉的抗性倍数分别为7.5~34.9,4.0~14.3,9.2~38.6,7.8~18.9和12.1~24.2倍。田间菜蚜茧蜂种群在5月份和6月初抗性水平最高,12月份较低,6月末最低,尤其在6月份期间20天内抗性水平急剧下降。研究结果表明,田间菜蚜茧蜂对6种杀虫剂的抗性水平在脱离选择压力后不稳定,且呈显著的季节性变化。表2参25  相似文献

Abstract.  1. Host ranges of parasitoid wasps are mediated by behavioural responses to hosts and their environment (infectivity), and development in hosts (virulence). Determinants of host range were measured in Diaeretiella rapae (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae), which has been described as a generalist that attacks more than 60 species.
2. In northern Colorado, this wasp mainly attacks two hosts: cabbage aphid ( Brevicoryne brassicae ) and Russian wheat aphid ( Diuraphis noxia ). Here, laboratory experiments are described in which D. rapae originating from these two hosts were offered several hosts for oviposition. Both infectivity and virulence were measured.
3. Infectivity included host acceptance and handling time, while virulence was measured as productivity (number of progeny), survival of immatures within hosts, development time, and sex ratio.
4. Wasps had higher productivity and survival when attacking 'home' hosts than 'alternate' hosts, and trade-offs were found by quantitative genetic analyses to be genetically determined. Sex ratio and development times also showed trade-offs, but mainly related to the host environment in which females were reared.
5. In previous genetic studies in northern Colorado, populations were genetically subdivided on the scale of 1 km. The fitness differences described here could be strong enough to create populations adapted to different hosts, but it appears that gene flow is sufficient to prevent formation of separate lineages on the two hosts.
6. Rather than being a generalist with a broad host range, D. rapae is a serial specialist, attacking particular hosts according to availability in different seasons or in different geographical areas.  相似文献

The role of diet supplements (honey, water or no supplements) on egg maturation, oviposition strategy and longevity of the parasitic wasp Diaeretiella rapae McIntosh (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae) is investigated. Parasitoids feed as larvae on hosts to acquire nutrition for growth and development, and further gain additional resources during their adult stage by feeding on either host or nonhost resources. The additional resources acquired by adults can help them to increase their reproductive activity or life expectancy, or both. Diaeretiella rapae females emerge with some developed eggs and no additional resources are required for egg maturation or successful oviposition. Females are able to oviposit and produce viable offspring immediately after emergence, and the number of eggs left in the ovaries of females decreases with subsequent oviposition, suggesting that ovigeny index of D. rapae is inclined towards pro‐ovigenic status. When unmated males and females are offered honey solution, females are attracted to it, whereas males display courtship and make mating attempts but then feed on honey after mating. The oviposition efficiency of female D. rapae increases by 30% when they feed on honey compared with when starved. Honey‐fed D. rapae adults live significantly longer (almost twice as long) than starved adults. Honey‐fed females deprived of hosts live longer than those offered hosts regularly. The positive effects of honey‐feeding on longevity are greater in females than in males. Taken together, the results of the present study suggest that the provision of additional resources to adult D. rapae parasitoids could enhance their life expectancy and parasitism efficiency in biological control programmes.  相似文献

The effects of recent colonization on the aphid parasitoid, Diaeretiella rapae (M'Intosh) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiidae), in Western Australia were investigated. When compared with populations from the Old World, the results of a microsatellite analysis show that the insects have low allelic length and low allele frequency variation, revealing that these individuals experienced a significant founder effect. Marked genetic differentiation between populations was also revealed, which has potentially important implications for host utilization in this species when introduced to a new geographical area(s). Low genetic variation and gene flow in a founder population could limit evolutionary potential in Australia, including the ability of a population to mount a response to newly introduced hosts, such as the Russian wheat aphid, Diuraphis noxia (Mordvilko). Although the actual importance of genetic diversity in the success of biological control agents is unclear, current theory concerning the potential impact of genetic bottlenecks on additive genetic variance is discussed.  相似文献

We evaluated the effects of constant low-temperature storage on Diaeretiella rapae (McIntosh) (Braconidae, Aphidiinae). Diaeretiella rapae mummies were stored at 5?±?1°C for 0–36 days. The percentage of D. rapae emergence varied (100-83%) after 0–32 days of storage. After 32 days, emergence reduced to 55%. According to our Probit analysis, 50% mortality (LT50) of the population of D. rapae was reached after 40 days of storage at 5°C. Storage for up to 32 days did not negatively affect emergence and survival. Cold exposure of D. rapae for 36 days did not influence morphological malformations, sex ratio, and emergence of the F1 generation. After 4–36 days of storage, D. rapae showed a gradual decrease in emergence, longevity, reproductive capacity, and F1 sex ratio. Diaeretiella rapae can be stored for up to 24 days at 5°C, at which time the percentage of parasitism and the F1 sex ratio remain above 38% and at 0.50, respectively.  相似文献

为了明确菜蚜茧蜂对萝卜蚜的控制作用,本文研究了在云南玉溪以6个不同蚜蜂比释放菜蚜茧蜂对萝卜蚜的寄生率,结果表明,按6个不同蚜蜂比释放菜蚜茧蜂寄生萝卜蚜后,其对萝卜蚜的寄生率随时间变化的曲线相似。放蜂后第3天,其对萝卜蚜的寄生率即达4%左右。前12 d寄生率虽有波动,但寄生率较低,多在5%以下,之后寄生率开始逐渐上升。蚜虫数量越多,其寄生率反而越高,21 d时,蚜蜂比250∶1和500∶1的寄生率已达26.06%和24.23%,显著高于其它蚜蜂比。蚜蜂比5∶1和25∶1时,萝卜蚜数量的增长最慢,21 d时,其数量仍呈直线上升趋势。蚜蜂比50∶1和150∶1时,萝卜蚜数量的增长开始呈直线上升趋势,到第18天趋于平稳。而蚜蜂比250∶1和500∶1时,萝卜蚜在第9天后,其种群数量呈爆发式增长,到第15天时即趋于平稳。萝卜蚜数量与有翅蚜数呈线性关系y=0.0097 x+10.953。僵蚜数与有翅蚜数呈指数函数模型,y=9.2582e0.0017 x。本研究表明菜蚜茧蜂对萝卜蚜有一定的控制作用,可以作为生物防治萝卜蚜的选择之一。  相似文献

The primary parasitoid wasp, Diaeretiella rapae (M’Intosh), is used as a biological control agent in insect pest management strategies to combat aphid pests, mainly on cruciferous plants. To investigate the spatial scales over which this beneficial parasitoid wasp moves within an agricultural landscape, we developed five polymorphic microsatellite markers. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 11 to 21. Cross‐species amplification indicated that these loci may be useful in some other members of the Aphidiinae.  相似文献

The exceptional diversity of insects is often attributed to the effects of specialized relationships between insects and their hosts. Parasite-host interactions are influenced by current natural selection and dispersal, in addition to historical effects that may include past selection, vicariance, and random genetic drift. Both current and historical events can lead to reduced fitness on some hosts. If trade-offs in fitness on alternate hosts are common, adaptation to one host can prevent adaptation to another, giving rise to genetic differentiation among host-associated lineages. Previous studies of Diaeretiella rapae (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae), a parasitoid of aphids, have revealed additive genetic differences in performance between populations that parasitize different aphid host species. To determine whether D. rapae populations collected from different aphid hosts have diverged into genetically independent lineages, we constructed a haplotype network based on sequence variation in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). We used single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) analysis to examine 2041 base pairs of mtDNA and to identify nucleotide sequences of 42 unique SSCP haplotypes. We found no association between mtDNA haplotypes and host species in either the ancestral range (Europe, Mediterranean region, Middle East, Asia) or part of the introduced range (western North America). Haplotypes likely to be ancestral were geographically widespread and found on both hosts, suggesting that the ability to use both hosts evolved prior to the diversification of the mtDNA. Ongoing gene flow appears to prevent the formation of host races.  相似文献

Feeding on floral nectar has multiple positive effects on parasitic wasps, including increased longevity and fecundity, and in addition, nectar feeding can also alter parasitoid behaviour. To advance understanding of the effects of nectar feeding on Diaeretiella rapae (McIntosh) [Hymenoptera: Braconidae], the activities of 1‐day‐old female D. rapae with or without a prior buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) nectar meal were quantified. Nectar increased searching time of D. rapae by a factor of 40 compared with individuals provided with water only and reduced the time spent stationary. The number of attacks to aphids by nectar‐fed parasitoids was not significantly (P = 0.06) higher than that of unfed D. rapae, suggesting that the conditions of the experiment facilitated host finding by ‘quiet’ parasitoids. Nevertheless, nectar feeding modified the behaviour of D. rapae in a way that parasitoids were more explorative and less inactive. This represents one additional mechanism through which nectar feeding impacts parasitoid biology and suggests that a synergy between increased host searching, increased longevity and increased fecundity should lead to an enhancement of biocontrol when D. rapae females have access to nectar in the field.  相似文献

采用试管药膜法测定了菜蚜茧蜂 Diaeretiella rapae 对甲胺磷和灭多威的抗性及增效剂的增效作用,并测定了菜蚜茧蜂和菜缢管蚜 Lipaphis erysimi 乙酰胆碱酯酶动力学参数、解毒酶活性及增效剂对菜蚜茧蜂酶活性的体内抑制作用。福州地区菜蚜茧蜂已对甲胺磷和灭多威产生5.6和9.1倍的抗性,胡椒基丁醚、磷酸三苯酯和马来酸二乙酯对两种杀虫剂的抗性品系均有显著增效作用,胡椒基丁醚的作用最为显著。胡椒基丁醚对抗性菜蚜茧蜂杀虫剂敏感性的增效作用远高于对敏感菜蚜茧蜂的影响。3种增效剂对菜蚜茧蜂乙酰胆碱酯酶均无抑制作用;磷酸三苯酯和胡椒基丁醚对羧酸酯酶,马来酸二乙酯对谷胱甘肽S转移酶有显著抑制作用。抗性和敏感菜蚜茧蜂乙酰胆碱酯酶的米氏常数Km)、最大反应速度(Vmax)、羧酸酯酶及谷胱甘肽S转移酶活性值相近,但敏感菜蚜茧蜂乙酰胆碱酯酶的双分子速度常数(KI)值远高于抗性的。此外,对菜蚜茧蜂和菜缢管蚜乙酰胆碱酯酶、羧酸酯酶和谷胱甘肽S转移酶进行了比较研究。结果表明菜蚜茧蜂对甲胺磷和灭多威的低水平抗性与乙酰胆碱酯酶的不敏感性及解毒酶的解毒代谢有关。  相似文献

Efficacy of Diaeretiella rapae (McIntosh) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was determined by studying its biological and behavioural attributes on the aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Total developmental duration of the parasitoid was longer in younger instars compared to that in older instars of aphid. Host age negatively affected the oviposition period and fecundity of the ovipositing parasitoid. Survival of the immatures was higher in older than the younger instars of the aphid. Sex ratio for the parasitoid was female-biased. Longevity of female parasitoid was higher while parasitizing aphid nymphs of younger age groups (1–2 days old) compared to that of older age groups (4–5 days old). Parasitoid showed a higher preference towards second instar of M. persicae both in choice and no-choice tests. Results on mutual interference revealed that per capita searching efficiency decreased from 0.91 to 0.07 as parasitoid densities increased from 1 to 8. Logistic regression exhibited a type II functional response for D. rapae. The estimated values of search-efficiency (a) and handling time (Th) were 0.038 h−1 and 1.59 h, respectively. The maximum parasitization rate was 15.08. This investigation suggests that D. rapae could be an effective candidate for augmentative biological control of M. persicae which infests several plant species of economic importance.  相似文献

Abstract:  Flower strips near crops may stimulate natural enemies by the provision of nectar and hibernation sites. However, these habitats may also be beneficial for potential pest species. We investigated the dynamics of the cabbage aphid Brevicoryne brassicae (L.) (Homo., Aphididae) and its primary parasitoid Diaeretiella rapae (McIntosh) (Hym., Braconidae) in brussels sprout fields and adjoining flower plots in winter. A wide variety of 14 plant species were included in the study, each established as monoculture plots. Brussels sprout fields and flower plots were established at two sites. One site was located in an open agricultural landscape, the other in a landscape dominated by mixed forest. Brevicoryne brassicae and D. rapae were found on brussels sprout plants but not in the flower plots. Brevicoryne brassicae was initially more abundant in the open landscape, but as their densities declined rapidly in time, no living aphids were recovered at both sites by February. The density of aphids parasitized by D. rapae showed a similar trend, but densities of eight mummies per brussels sprout plant were still present by the end of February. These findings suggest that (i) flower species under investigation do not function as sources of B. brassicae and (ii) brussels sprout plants that are not harvested may not only harbour D. rapae populations that may sustain biological control, but are also likely to act as sources of B. brassicae infestation.  相似文献

We report the toxicological effects of a new biorational, synthetic sucrose octanoate (AVA Chemical Ventures L.L.C., Portsmouth, NH), on brown citrus aphid, Toxoptera citricida (Kirkaldy), nymphs and adults and to its native parasitoid Lysiphlebus testaceipes (Cresson). Sucrose octanoate topically applied was equally toxic to brown citrus aphid adults and nymphs with LC50 and LC90 values ranging from 356 to 514 and 1029 to 1420 ppm, respectively. Mortalities of both stages did not differ significantly over time during the 3-24-h sampling period. Dry residues of sucrose octanoate exhibited similar levels of toxicity to both nymphs and adults. Mortality ranged from 60 to 70% at 6,000 ppm 4 h after exposure. L. testaceipes was not harmed by treatments as high as 4,000 ppm of sucrose octanoate as long as the parasitoid had mummified before treatment. Based on these results, sucrose octanoate would be a useful biorational in citrus integrated pest management programs.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the quality of the aphid Myzus persicae (Sulzer), Lipaphis erysimi (Kaltenbach) and Brevicoryne brassicae (L.) as hosts for the parasitoid Diaeretiella rapae (McIntosh). Parasitization by D. rapae was higher on M. persicae than on L. erysimi and B. brassicae. The time of development of D. rapae from egg to mummy or egg to adult male or female were shorter on M. persicae than on L. erysimi and B. brassicae. Moreover, D. rapae showed no significant differences in the emergence rate, sex ratio and longevity when reared on the three aphid species. Myzus persicae was the largest aphid host, with B. brassicae and L. erysimi being of intermediate and of small size, respectively. Diaeretiella rapae reared on M. persicae was larger than when reared on L. erysimi and B. brassicae, and females of D. rapae were significantly larger than males on M. persicae, but males of D. rapae were larger than females when reared on L. erysimi. No difference in size was detected between males and females in parasitoids reared on B. brassicae. Among the aphid species studied, M. persicae was found to be the most suitable to D. rapae.  相似文献

Experiments were conducted to test the hypothesis that plant learning by a relative plant-specialist parasitoid wasp should influence the probability of orienting to plant odors (plant finding) and the duration of searching on a plant after landing (plant examining). The insect tested was Diaeretiella rapaeM'Intosh (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae), a parasitoid wasp that usually attacks aphids on cruciferous plants, but occasionally on other plants. Laboratory experiments using collard as the cruciferous plant and potato as the novel plant demonstrated that postemergence (adult) plant experience affected plant examining only on the less preferred plant, potato, and was reversible and relatively long-term (that is, lasted >2 days). Postemergence experience with potato did not increase orientation to potato odor in a wind tunnel, but postemergence experience with collard resulted in a trend of increased likelihood of flying to collard odor. The type and quantity of fertilizer supplied to a crop will differ between organic and conventional farming practices. Altering the type of fertilizer a plant is provided with can influence a plant’s foliar nitrogen levels, as well as the composition and concentration of defence compounds, such as glucosinolates. Many natural enemies of insect herbivores can respond to headspace volatiles emitted by the herbivores’ host plant in response to herbivory. We propose that manipulating fertilizer type may also influence the headspace volatile profiles of plants, and as a result, the tritrophic interactions that occur between plants, their insect pests and those pests’ natural enemies. Here, we investigate a tritrophic system consisting of cabbage plants, Brassica oleracea, a parasitoid, Diaeretiella rapae, and one of its hosts, the specialist cabbage aphid Brevicoryne brassicae. Brassica oleracea plants were provided with either no additional fertilization or one of three types of fertilizer: Nitram (ammonium nitrate), John Innes base or organic chicken manure. We investigated whether these changes would alter the rate of parasitism of aphids on those plants and whether any differences in parasitism could be explained by differences in attractivity of the plants to D. rapae or attack rate of aphids by D. rapae. In free‐choice experiments, there were significant differences in the percentage of B. brassicae parasitized by D. rapae between B. oleracea plants grown in different fertilizer treatments. In a series of dual‐choice Y‐tube olfactometry experiments, D. rapae females discriminated between B. brassicae‐infested and undamaged plants, but parasitoids did not discriminate between similarly infested plants grown in different fertilizer treatments. Correspondingly, in attack rate experiments, there were no differences in the rate that D. rapae attacked B. brassicae on B. oleracea plants grown in different fertilizer treatments. These findings are of direct relevance to sustainable and conventional farming practices.  相似文献

Reproductive activities of naturally occurring population of Diaeretiella rapae (M'Intosh) (Hymenoptera: Aphidiinae) on Myzus persicae were studied during spring season in New Zealand. The cabbage seedlings were highly infested with the aphids (272±25 individuals/plant) with about 30% on average parasitised by D. rapae. Rate of parasitism was positively correlated with the aphid density (R 2=0.64). Adult emergence from aphid mummies was 90%, with a higher frequency of females than males. Increase in female/male sex ratio was found between early and late spring (1.1 vs. 1.8). Mating in D. rapae occurred throughout the day. Nearly half of the mating pairs collected were male–male pairs, which were especially prevalent during morning and evening while more male–female mating pairs were found during midday. Male–male mounting was probably because of low number of virgin females in morning and evening populations. About 80% females were mounted by smaller size males. Male–male mounting is discussed in correlation with operational sex ratio of D. rapae population.  相似文献

The control of insect pests using parasitoids and carnivores has been successfully applied in protected cropping systems, orchards and forestry. Their success in annual field crops has been more limited due largely to the difficulties of attracting and maintaining a sufficient density of parasitoids in the crop before the levls of the insect herbivores become economically damaging. Parasitoids are known to be attracted to host-plant volatiles; thus, manipulating the host-plant chemistry may provide a means of enhancing the attraction of parasitoids to their prey. In this study we describe the differential attraction of the braconid wasp Diaeretiella rapae to two near-isogenic lines of Brassica oleracea which differ in a gene which alters the chemical structure of the isothiocyanates which are emitted following tissue damage. We demonstrate that, by enhancing the production of but-3-enyl isothiocyanate in B. oleracea and Brassica napus (oilseed rape), we can increase the attraction of D. rapae to these plants under standard field conditions.  相似文献
