The lower respiratory tract of the sheep was studied by light-microscopical immunocytochemistry for serotonin, cholecystokinin, somatostatin, bombesin and calcitonin during different periods of lung development; embryonic, foetal and postnatal. At embryonic period only intraepithelial serotonin-containing cells as solitary neuroendocrine cells (NEC) and neuroepithelial bodies (NEB) were found. At foetal stages, immunoreactive cells to serotonin, cholecystokinin and somatostatin were observed in airway epithelium, as solitary NEC and NEBs, and in autonomic intrapulmonary ganglia as single or clusters of small intensely-fluorescent (SIF) cells. In postnatal sheep, serotonin- and cholecystokinin-containing cells were found within airway mucosa as solitary NECs and NEBs. No immunoreactive cells were observed with antiserum to bombesin and calcitonin. Quantitative studies showed that serotonin was the predominant substance, and that solitary neuroendocrine cells were more numerous in distal conducting airways and at foetal stages.  相似文献

The epithelial lining of the respiratory tract of urodeles has been shown to harbor an innervated system of neuroepithelial endocrine (NEE) cells. Even between phylogenetically closely related species, large differences have been reported in the appearance and chemical coding of the NEE system. Although urodeles are well suited for the purpose, none of the prior studies have provided an immunocytochemical survey of the NEE system in all parts of the respiratory tract. In the present study, many bioactive substances and a general marker were immunocytochemically demonstrated in serial sections of the entire respiratory tract of the Tokyo salamander, Hynobius nebulosus tokyoensis, a species in which neuroepithelial bodies (NEBs) were previously characterized at the electron microscopic level. In the current study, serotonin-immunoreactive solitary NEE cells were observed in variable numbers in the larynx, in all parts of the trachea, and in areas of the lungs covered with ciliomucous epithelium. Serotonin-containing NEBs, however, were detected in small cranial areas of the lung only. Solitary NEE cells were seen in the trachea and lungs of H. nebulosus tokyoensis by immunocytochemical staining for somatostatin, calcitonin, calcitonin gene-related peptide, and bombesin, but the number, localization, and appearance of the labeled NEE cells differed considerably. Only calcitonin-like immunoreactivity was also noted in some NEB-like cell clusters in the cranial parts of the lungs. Unlike many other vertebrates, neuron specific enolase was found to be a poor marker for the NEE system in the salamander species used in this investigation. It may be concluded that the NEE system of H. nebulosus tokyoensis contains at least five different bioactive substances. The different markers, however, demonstrate the presence of NEE cells with obvious differences in respect to appearance and topographical distribution. The necessity is emphasized of reliable methods for adequate sampling of all regions of the respiratory tract in comparative histological studies of the NEE system.  相似文献

Pulmonary neuroepithelial endocrine cells have been shown to contain serotonin-immunoreactivity in almost every species studied. Regulatory peptides, of which at least ten have been reported so far, were mostly only demonstrated in a number of the investigated species or in a subpopulation of neuroepithelial endocrine cells. Calcitonin gene-related peptide, calcitonin, bombesin/gastrin-releasing peptide, enkephalin, somatostatin, substance P, cholecystokinin and polypeptide YY were found in normal lung tissues, whereas ACTH and several other bioactive substances should be regarded as ectopic. The human pulmonary neuroepithelial endocrine system seems to harbour the largest spectrum of bioactive mediators. The distribution patterns of bioactive substances in various subpopulations of solitary neuroepithelial endocrine cells or neuroepithelial bodies and in different cells of a single neuroepithelial body reveal a great complexity. Therefore, further research is needed to elucidate the chemical coding of this system.  相似文献

Summary The coexistence of serotonin and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in neuroepithelial bodies of the bandicoot, Isoodon macrourus, has been examined using immunocytochemistry at the light- and electronmicroscope levels. The avidin-biotin technique of antigen localisation was used initially to identify serotonin-like and CGRP-like immunoreactivity (-LI). Serotonin-LI and CGRP-LI were found in neuroepithelial cells in the lungs of 30-day-old bandicoots. CGRP-LI could also be demonstrated in nerve fibres associated with some neuroepithelial bodies. The protein A-gold technique of antigen localisation was used to label neuroepithelial cells and nerve fibres at the subcellular level. Serotonin-LI and CGRP-LI were observed in the same dense-cored vesicles of most neuroepithelial cells; however, some neuroepithelial cells were shown to possess serotonin-LI without CGRP-LI. Nerve fibres immediately adjacent to neuroepithelial bodies exhibited mainly CGRP-LI. These results show that serotonin-LI and CGRP-LI are present in neuroepithelial cells of the bandicoot in the same secretory vesicles. This pattern of co-localisation may reflect co-ordinated or synergistic actions of these two neuroactive substances.  相似文献

Summary Immunoreactivity of regulatory peptides has been demonstrated in the fetal lung of Macaca mulatta by the peroxidase anti-peroxidase method. Serotonin-immunoreactive neuroepithelial bodies are distributed in the airways from the bronchi to the alveolar ducts. Many neuroepithelial bodies also show bombesin-like immunoreactivity; a very few are immunoreactive to somatostatin antiserum. Four populations of neuroepithelial bodies were identified which contain immunoreactivity for 1) serotonin alone, 2) serotonin and bombesin, 3) serotonin and somatostatin, and 4) serotonin, bombesin, and somatostatin. Since bombesin and somatostatin have been demonstrated to have opposite effects on the release of other peptide hormones, it seems likely that the presence of these same peptides in neuroepithelial bodies may have a similar regulatory role in the lung.  相似文献

The occurrence and distribution of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in the lower airways was studied by means of immunohistochemistry and radioimmunoassay (RIA) in combination with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). CGRP-like immunoreactivity (-LI) was observed in nerves from the epiglottis down to peripheral bronchi in rat, cat and guinea pig and also in human bronchi. Double staining revealed colocalization of CGRP-LI and substance P (SP)-LI in cell bodies of nodose and jugular ganglia as well as in axons and nerve terminals of the airways. Systemic capsaicin pretreatment induced a marked loss of the CGRP- and SP-immunoreactive (-IR) nerves in the lower airways. CGRP-IR was also present in epithelial endocrine cells and neuroepithelial bodies. The content of CGRP-LI as measured with RIA in guinea pig bronchi was significantly lower after capsaicin pretreatment. Analysis of human bronchial extracts revealed that CGRP-LI coeluted with synthetic human CGRP on HPLC. In the isolated perfused guinea pig lung capsaicin exposure caused overflow of CGRP-LI suggesting release from peripheral branches of sensory nerves. Both in vivo experiments in the guinea pig measuring insufflation pressure as well as in vitro studies on isolated guinea pig and human bronchi showed that whereas tachykinins contracted bronchial smooth muscle no contractile or relaxing effect was elicited by human or rat CGRP. However, CGRP caused relaxation of serotonin precontracted guinea pig and human pulmonary arteries. In conclusion, the presence and release of CGRP-LI from capsaicin sensitive nerves in the lower airways adds another possible mediator, in addition to tachykinins, of vascular reactions upon sensory nerve irritation.  相似文献

Studies were performed on Wistar strain rats aged 1-720 days. Immunocytochemical reactions were used to detect calcitonin, somatostatin, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), cholecystokinin, serotonin, neuron-specific enolase (NSE), secretory protein-I, chromogranin and Ca-binding protein. In the parafollicular cells of the rat, the presence of calcitonin, somatostatin, CGRP, NSE and secretory protein-I could be demonstrated. The number of parafollicular cells increased with the age of animals, and the increase was particularly pronounced in the early postnatal period and after the first year of age. The number of somatostatin-immunoreactive cells decreased after birth and increased again after the first year of age. The number of calcitonin-immunoreactive cells increased in the early postnatal period independently of the increase in parafollicular cell number, forming frequently tumor-like outgrowths in 2-year-old animals. A small proportion of these outgrowths contained no calcitonin even if they did contain somatostatin, CGRP and NSE immunoreactivity. Evident changes in immunoreactivity in the first days after birth may reflect the sudden change in environment and may be associated with growth and differentiation. In any period of life, CGRP- and NSE-immunoreactive cells have constituted the most numerous groups and, therefore, the respective antigens seem to represent the most suitable markers of parafollicular cells in the rat.  相似文献

The pulmonary neuroendocrine cell system comprises solitary neuroendocrine cells and clusters of innervated cells or neuroepithelial bodies (NEBs). NEBs figure prominently during the perinatal period when they are postulated to be involved in physiological adaptation to air breathing. Previous studies have documented hyperplasia of NEBs in cystic fibrosis (CF) lungs and increased neuropeptide (bombesin) content produced by these cells, possibly secondary to chronic hypoxia related to CF lung disease. However, little is known about the role of NEBs in the pathogenesis of CF lung disease. In the present study, using a panel of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR)-specific antibodies and confocal microscopy in combination with RT-PCR, we demonstrate expression of CFTR message and protein in NEB cells of rabbit neonatal lungs. NEB cells expressed CFTR along with neuroendocrine markers. Confocal microscopy established apical membrane localization of the CFTR protein in NEB cells. Cl(-) conductances corresponding to functional CFTR were demonstrated in NEB cells in a fresh lung slice preparation. Our findings suggest that NEBs, and related neuroendocrine mechanisms, likely play a role in the pathogenesis of CF lung disease, including the early stages before establishment of chronic infection and chronic lung disease.  相似文献

Infusion of the neuropeptide bombesin stimulates the secretion of several gastrointestinal hormones by an unknown mechanism. We have investigated the effects of atropine (15 ng/kg as bolus followed by 2.5 ng/kg · 30 min) and somatostatin (125 μg as i.v. bolus followed by 62.5 μg/30 min) on the stimulation of 3 hormones (gastrin, cholecystokinin and pancreatic polypeptide) by 60 pmol/kg · 20 min bombesin in 6 healthy volunteers. Plasma samples for measurement of hormones by sensitive and specific radioimmunoassays were obtained at − 5, 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 min. Bombesin induced significant increases in plasma gastrin (12 ± 2 to 34 ± 3 pM; P < 0.0005), cholecystokinin (1.2 ± 0.2 to 8.9 ± 0.7 pM; P < 0.0001) and pancreatic polypeptide (22 ± 4 to 72 ± 19 pM; P < 0.05). There were great differences between the effects of atropine and somatostatin on the hormonal responses to bombesin. Atropine slightly increased the response of gastrin by 19% and that of cholecystokinin by 15%, but strongly inhibited the bombesin-stimulated pancreatic polypeptide secretion by 97%. On the other hand, somatostatin inhibited the bombesin-induced secretion of gastrin by 48%, cholecystokinin by 82% and pancreatic polypeptide by 107%. These results point to considerable qualitative and quantitative differences in the stimulatory mechanisms of bombesin on the hormones studied.  相似文献

Summary Neuroepithelial bodies (NEB) were identified in the lung of Bufo marinus. The characteristics of the cells and their innervation were studied with electron and fluorescence microscopy before and after close vagosympathetic denervation. The bodies consist of low columnar cells which rest on the epithelial basal lamina. The majority of the cells do not reach the lumen of the lung (basal cells); the few which do (apical cells) are bordered by microvilli and possess a single cilium. The neuroepithelial cell cytoplasm contains a variety of organelles the most characteristic of which are dense cored vesicles. Microspectrofluorometry and electron microscopic cytochemistry indicate significant quantities of 5-hydroxytryptamine in these cells. The neuroepithelial bodies could be divided into three groups on the basis of their innervation: 1) About 60% of the NEBs are innervated solely by nerve fibres containing agranular vesicles which form reciprocal synapses; 2) about 20% are innervated solely by adrenergic nerve fibres which form distinct synaptic contacts; and 3) the remaining 20% are innervated by both types of nerve fibres. It is proposed that the NEBs are receptors monitoring intrapulmonary PCO 2 and so leading to modulation of activity in afferent nerve fibres (type containing agranular vesicles). The presence of NEBs solely with an adrenergic (efferent) innervation poses a problem with this interpretation.  相似文献

Our present understanding of the morphology of neuroepithelial bodies (NEBs) in mammalian lungs is comprehensive. Several hypotheses have been put forward regarding their function but none has been proven conclusively. Microscopic data on the innervation that appears to affect the reaction of NEBs to stimuli have given rise to conflicting interpretations. The aim of this study has been to check the validity of the hypothesis that pulmonary NEBs receive an extensive vagal sensory innervation. The fluorescent neuronal tracer DiI was injected into the vagal sensory nodose ganglion and NEBs were visualized in toto by using immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy on 100-μm-thick frozen sections of the lungs of adult rats. The most striking finding was the extensive intraepithelial terminal arborizations of DiI-labelled vagal afferents in intrapulmonary airways, apparently always co-appearing with calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-immunoreactive NEBs. Not all NEBs received a traced nerve fibre. Intrapulmonary CGRP-containing nerve fibres, including those innervating NEBs, always appeared to belong to a nerve fibre population different from the DiI-traced fibres and hence did not arise from the nodose ganglion. Therefore, at least some of the pulmonary NEBs in adult rats are supplied with sensory nerve fibres that originate from the vagal nodose ganglion and form beaded ramifications between the NEB cells, thus providing support for the hypothesis of a receptor function for NEBs. Summary The subepicardial atrial ganglia of rat hearts were examined using immunohistochemical techniques and antibodies against the catecholamine-synthetic enzymes tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and dopamine--hydroxylase (DBH), and the neuropeptides substance P (SP), calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), neuropeptide Y (NPY), vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) and met-5-enkephalin (ENK). Some of the ganglion cells present in the ganglia exhibited DBH-like immunoreactivity (LI) and NPY-LI, whilst these cells nerver exhibited TH-, VIP-, CGRP-, SP- or ENK-LI. Groups of small cells exhibiting an intense TH-LI, corresponding to cells referred to as catecholamine-containing cells and sometimes small intensely fluorescent cells in the literature, were observed in the ganglia. A subpopulation of these cells exhibited immunoreactivity to one of the neuropeptides tested, namely SP. Only a few of the cells showing TH-LI displayed DBH-LI. Nerve fibres showing SP-, CGRP-, DBH- and TH-LI were present in the ganglia; some of these fibres being closely associated with the ganglion cells or with the cells showing TH-LI. The observations provide new information on the catecholaminesynthetic enzyme/neuropeptide expression of the ganglion and catecholamine-containing cells and of the associated nerve fibres of rat heart subepicardial ganglia.  相似文献

The gut of silver eels (Anguilla anguilla L.) was investigated in order to describe both the cholinergic and adrenergic intramural innervations, and the localization of possible accessory neuromediators. Histochemical reactions for the demonstration of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, reduced form-(NADPH-)diaphorase and acetylcholinesterase (AChEase) were performed, as well as the immunohistochemical testing of tyrosine hydroxylase, met-enkephalin, substance P, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), bombesin, vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), neuropeptide Y (NPY), somatostatin, cholecystokinin-octapeptide (CCK-8), serotonin, cholineacetyl transferase. The results evidenced a different pattern in comparison with other vertebrates, namely mammals, and with other fish. Both NADPH-diaphorase and AChEase activities were histochemically detected all along the gut in the myenteric plexus, the inner musculature and the propria-submucosa. Tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactivity was observed in the intestinal tract only, both in the myenteric plexus and in the inner musculature. Several neuropeptides (metenkephalin, CGRP, bombesin, substance P, VIP, NPY, somatostatin) were, in addition, detected in the intramural innervation; some of them also in epithelial cells of the diffuse endocrine system (met-enkephalin, substance P, NPY, somatostatin). Serotonin was only present in endocrine cells. Tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactivity was present in localizations similar to those of NADPH-diaphorase-reactivity, and in the same nerve bundles in which substance P- and CGRP-like-immunoreactivities were detectable in the intestinal tract. In addition, NADPH-diaphorase-reactive neurons showed an anatomical relationship with AChEase-reactive nerve terminals, and a similar relationship existed between the latter and substance P-like immunoreactivity.  相似文献

Pulmonary endocrine cells of Syrian golden hamster were stained for neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) with indirect fluorescent immunostaining and observed with a confocal laser scanning microscope equipped with an argon laser. Sections 100 m thick of hamster lung fixed with phosphate-buffered 4% paraformaldehyde were prepared. The sections were incubated with rat monoclonal antibody against NCAM, followed by fluorescence-labeled antibody against rat immunoglobulin. Some were doubly immunostained for NCAM and one of the following endocrine markers: neuron-specific enolase, calcitonin gene-related peptide and serotonin. Expression of NCAM in the hamster airway epithelium was seen in cell nests resembling neuroepithelial bodies (NEBs). NCAM immunostaining was positive at the lateral cell borders between the cells composing the nest, but negative at the border with the adjacent, presumably non-endocrine cells. Double immunostaining confirmed that the grouped cells with NCAM immunoreactivity were of an endocrine nature, but that single endocrine cells did not show NCAM immunoreactivity. An electron microscopic study with NCAM immunostaining confirmed the light microscopic study. These suggest that NCAM expression could be important for the morphogenesis of NEBs. A confocal laser microscope was used to make theee-dimensional images of NEBs after NCAM immunostaining and the spatial interaction between NEBs and the surrounding microenvironment was studied.  相似文献

Summary The occurrence and distribution of several neuropeptides and transmitter enzymes have been investigated by means of indirect immunofluorescence histochemistry in preaortal and carotid body-like paraganglia of the fetal guinea pig and the newborn pig. Preaortal paraganglia from the celiac and inferior mesenteric ganglion regions in fetal guinea pigs showed cell bodies immunoreactive (IR) for tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), dopamine -hydroxylase (DBH), neuropeptide Y (NPY), galanin (GAL) and metenkephalin (ENK). Almost all cells were IR for TH and DBH, whereas NPY-like immunoreactivity (-LI), GAL-LI and ENK-LI occurred less frequently. Direct double-labeling revealed the coexistence of NPY/GAL, NPY/ENK and GAL/ENK in paraganglion cells from the celiac and inferior mesenteric region. Nerve fibers and terminals were IR for ENK; fibers IR for calcitonin-gene-related peptide (CGRP) were present in the inferior mesenteric ganglion region. Preaortal paraganglia cells from the newborn pig showed TH-LI, DBH-LI, GAL-LI and ENK-LI, the distribution pattern being similar to that seen in the guinea pig; however, NPY-LI was absent. Carotid-body-like paraganglia from the newborn pig showed cell bodies IR to TH, GAL and ENK. Few cells were seen with DBH-LI. A rich supply of nerve fibers with CGRP-LI was present; some fibers exhibited ENK-LI and CCK-LI. In the adjacent superior cervical ganglion, ganglion cell bodies showed immunoreactivity to TH, DBH and NPY. A small number of cells were positive for GAL, CGRP and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP). Physiological activation of the paraganglia, leading to release or increase in catecholamines, may also change the content of the neuropeptides present in the paraganglia.  相似文献

Immunocytochemical quantitative studies on the development of rat thyroid calcitonin (C) cells have been performed. In neonatal rat pups up to day 6 nearly 90% of all calcitonin cells are also somatostatin immunoreactive and 45% of these cells also show immunoreactivity to a C-terminal gastrin/cholecystokinin antiserum (CCK-4-like immunoreactivity). Already at day 8 the frequency of somatostatin immunoreactive calcitonin cells has dropped to 25%, whereas half of the calcitonin cells still display CCK-4-like immunoreactivity. In adult rats, less than 1% of the calcitonin cells are somatostatin immunoreactive, whereas 90% of the calcitonin cells display CCK-4-like immunoreactivity. These data show that between day 6-8 a pronounced change in the peptide repertoire of rat thyroid C cells occur and that these cells, prior to this time, mainly contain calcitonin and somatostatin immunoreactivity and after this time mainly contain calcitonin and CCK-4-like immunoreactivity. The time course of the change in the C cell peptides is similar to that observed with changes in transitory peptides of neonatal rat pancreas and duodenum, suggesting that possible hormonal mechanisms during this period act to change the peptide repertoire of several endocrine cell types simultaneously. It is possible that many of the transitory peptides exert actions in the developing individual that are necessary for growth and differentiation. Interestingly, many of these transitory peptides reappear in tumours, where theoretically they could exert similar actions.  相似文献

In the brain of adult specimens of the tobacco hornworm moth, Manduca sexta (L), cells immunoreactive for several kinds of neuropeptides were localized by means of the PAP procedure, by use of antisera raised against mammalian hormones or hormonal peptides. In contrast, no such neurosecretory cells were found in the corpora cardiaca and corpora allata (CC/CA); in the CC/CA, however, immunoreactive nerve fibres were observed, reaching these organs from the brain. The neurosecretory cells found in the brain were immunoreactive with at least one of the following mammalian antisera, namely those raised against the insulin B-chain, somatostatin, glucagon C-terminal, glucagon N-terminal, pancreatic polypeptide (PP), secretin, vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP), glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP), gastrin C-terminus, enkephalin, alpha- and beta-endorphin, Substance P, and calcitonin. No cells were immunoreactive with antisera specific for detecting neurons containing the insulin A-chain, nerve growth factor, epidermal growth factor, insulin connecting peptide (C-peptide), polypeptide YY (PYY), gastrin mid-portion (sequence 6-13), cholecystokinin (CCK) mid-portion (sequences 9-20 and 9-25), neurotensin C-terminus, bombesin, motilin, ACTH, or serotonin. All the neuropeptide-immunoreactive cells observed emitted nerve fibers passing through the brain to the CC and in some cases also to the CA. In CC these immunoreactive nerve fibers tended to accumulate near the aorta. It was speculated that neuropeptides are released into the circulating haemolymph and act as neurohormones.  相似文献

Histological preparations of thyroid, parathyroid and thymus glands of Herpestes edwardsi were examined for calcitonin cells. They reveal that (1) the thyroid calcitonin cells are oval, rounded and rarely elongated in shape; these cells and their nuclei are distinctly larger than those of the follicular cells and their nuclei; (2) calcitonin cells are unevenly distributed in the thyroid, with the result that certain portions of the thyroid are completely devoid of these cells; (3) on an average, calcitonin cells are in a ratio of 10-15 cells/100 follicular cells; (4) the parathyroid and thymus glands do not display calcitonin cells, and (5) the thyroid gland displays unusual follicles of two categories, (a) follicles with ciliated epithelial cells and (b) follicles with squamous epithelium.  相似文献

As best characterized for rats, it is clear that pulmonary neuroepithelial bodies (NEBs) are contacted by a plethora of nerve fiber populations, suggesting that they represent an extensive group of multifunctional intraepithelial airway receptors. Because of the importance of genetically modified mice for functional studies, and the current lack of data, the main aim of the present study was to achieve a detailed analysis of the origin and neurochemical properties of nerve terminals associated with NEBs in mouse lungs. Antibodies against known selective markers for sensory and motor nerve terminals in rat lungs were used on lungs from control and vagotomized mice of two different strains, i.e., Swiss and C57-Bl6. NEB cells were visualized by antibodies against either the general neuroendocrine marker protein gene-product 9.5 (PGP9.5) or calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). Thorough immunohistochemical examination of NEB cells showed that some of these NEB cells also exhibit calbindin D-28 k (CB) and vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT) immunoreactivity (IR). Mouse pulmonary NEBs were found to receive intraepithelial nerve terminals of at least two different populations of myelinated vagal afferents: (1) Immunoreactive (ir) for vesicular glutamate transporters (VGLUTs) and CB; (2) expressing P2X2 and P2X3 ATP receptors. CGRP IR was seen in varicose vagal nerve fibers and in delicate non-vagal fibers, both in close proximity to NEBs. VAChT immunostaining showed very weak IR in the NEB-related intraepithelial vagal sensory nerve terminals. nNOS- or VIP-ir nerve terminals could be observed at the base of pulmonary NEBs. While a single NEB can be contacted by multiple nerve fiber populations, it was clear that none of the so far characterized nerve fiber populations contacts all pulmonary NEBs. The present study revealed that mouse lungs harbor several populations of nerve terminals that may selectively contact NEBs. Although at present the physiological significance of the innervation pattern of NEBs remains enigmatic, it is likely that NEBs are receptor–effector end-organs that may host complex and/or multiple functional properties in normal airways. The neurochemical information on the innervation of NEBs in mouse lungs gathered in the present study will be essential for the interpretation of upcoming functional data and for the study of transgenic mice.  相似文献
