A rapid infiltration land wastewater application site, composed of unconsolidated silty sand and gravel, which has been in continuous operation for over 30 years was examined for the accumulation and/or migration of a tracer virus (coliphage f2), indigenous enteroviruses, and enteric indicator bacteria in the soils and underlying groundwater. Tracer f2 penetrated into groundwater together with the front of percolating primary effluent and was not observed to concentrate on the upper soil layers. The tracer virus concentration in a 60-foot (about 18.3-m)-deep observation well directly beneath the wastewater application area began to increase within 48 h after application to the soil. The tracer level in this well stabilized after 72 h at a level of approximately 47% of the average applied concentration. Indigenous enteroviruses and tracer f2 were sporadically detected in the groundwater at horizontal distances of 600 feet (about 183 m) from the application zone. Laboratory soil adsorption studies confirmed the poor virus adsorption observed at the site. This was especially true on surface soils when contained in wastewater. Enteric indicator bacteria were readily concentrated on the soil surface by filtration on the soil surface mat. However, during tracer f2 virus tests, comparison studies with fecal Streptococcus revealed that bacteria capable of penetrating the surface were able to migrate into the groundwater. They were detected at the same locations as tracer and enteric viruses.  相似文献

The amount of f2 recovered from 170-cm-deep soil percolate samples taken over a 53-day period never exceeded 0.1% of applied virus levels and was usually below detection limits. Indigenous enterovirus levels in percolate waters also constituted only a small portion of those found in the wastewaters. At 10 days after seeding, f2 virus was present throughout the soil column but tended to accumulate around the soil core middepths. Coliphage f2 disappeared from the soil surface regions at a high rate, and by 53 days very little virus could be detected within the length of the soil columns. Sterilized soil core segments from different depths were studied to determine their virus adsorption capabilities when suspended in either wastewater, test cell percolate water, or distilled water containing divalent cations. The adsorptive capacity of Windsor and Charlton soils for poliovirus 1 and coliphage f2 increased greatly with the soil sample depth until leveling off at the midcore depths. Soil suspended in wastewater had the least virus adsorption capability for all depths studied.  相似文献

Nitrogen removal from animal waste treatment water by anammox enrichment   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
The aim of this work was to examine the applicability of the anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process to three kinds of low BOD/N ratio wastewaters from animal waste treatment processes in batch mode. A rapid decrease of NO(2)(-) and NH(4)(+) was observed during incubation with wastewaters from AS and UASB/trickling filter and their corresponding control artificial wastewaters. This nitrogen removal resulted from the anammox reaction, because the ratio of removed NO(2)(-) and NH(4)(+) was close to the theoretical ratio of the anammox reaction. Comparison of the inorganic nitrogen removal rate of the actual wastewater and that of control artificial wastewater showed that these two kinds of wastewater were very suitable for anammox treatment. Incubation with wastewater from RW did not show a clear anammox reaction; however, diluting it by half enabled the reaction, suggesting the presence of an inhibitory factor. This study showed that the three kinds of wastewater from animal waste treatment processes were suitable for anammox treatment.  相似文献

A laboratory-scale model system was developed to investigate the transport mechanisms involved in the horizontal movement of bacteria in overland flow across saturated soils. A suspension of Escherichia coli and bromide tracer was added to the model system, and the bromide concentration and number of attached and unattached E. coli cells in the overland flow were measured over time. Analysis of the breakthrough curves indicated that the E. coli and bromide were transported together, presumably by the same mechanism. This implied that the E. coli was transported by advection with the flowing water. Overland-flow transport of E. coli could be significantly reduced if the cells were preattached to large soil particles (> 45 microm). However, when unattached cells were inoculated into the system, the E. coli appeared to attach predominantly to small particles (< 2 microm) and hence remained unattenuated during transport. These results imply that in runoff generated by saturation-excess conditions, bacteria are rapidly transported across the surface and have little opportunity to interact with the soil matrix.  相似文献

为有效利用水蚀风蚀交错区退耕封育坡面植被,确定合理的植被利用强度非常必要.本试验选取黄土高原水蚀风蚀交错区典型小流域——六道沟小流域为试验区,在多年退耕封育坡面布设径流小区,通过人工模拟降雨试验,研究植被地上部分在不同利用强度下各坡度(10°、20°和30°)坡面产流、产沙变化特征,以确定合理的利用强度. 结果表明: 次降雨过程中径流速率大体可分为两个阶段:初期迅速增长阶段和中后期增长变缓或趋于准稳定阶段.侵蚀速率的变化趋势因坡度的不同而略有差异.利用强度对产流量有显著影响,产流量随利用强度的加强而增加.坡度对侵蚀量影响显著,侵蚀量表现为20°坡面>30°坡面>10°坡面.以植被地上部分未利用小区为对照,相对增水量和相对增沙量均随利用强度加强而增加.结合降雨资料推测,退耕15年左右坡面植被地上部分盖度达到25%时,坡面年土壤侵蚀量基本低于容许土壤流失量.应重视该区20°坡面植被的恢复治理工作.  相似文献

Untreated or improperly treated wastewater has often been cited as the primary contamination source of groundwater. The use of decentralized wastewater treatment systems has applicability around the world since it obviates the need for extensive infrastructure development and expenditures. The use of a submerged flow constructed wetland (CW) and a sand filter to remove bacterial and viral pathogens from wastewater streams was evaluated in this study Salmonella sp. and a bacteriophages tracer were used in conjunction with the conservative bromide tracer to understand the fate and transport of these organisms in these treatment systems. Viral breakthrough numbers in the sand filter and CW were similar with a Spearman Rank correlation of 0.8 (P<0.05). In the CW, the virus exhibited almost a 3-log reduction, while in the sand filter, the viruses exhibited a 2-log reduction. The bacterial tracers, however, did not exhibit similar reductions. Low numbers of bacteria and viruses were still detectable in the effluent streams suggesting that disinfection of the effluent is critical. The survival of the tracer bacteria and viruses was as expected dependent on the biotic and abiotic conditions existing within the wastewater. The results suggest that the microbial removal characteristics of decentralized wastewater treatment systems can vary and depend on factors such as adsorption, desorption and inactivation which in turn depend on the design specifics such as filter media characteristics and local climatic conditions.  相似文献

水力侵蚀是目前世界上分布最广、危害也是最为普遍的一种土壤侵蚀类型。坡面土壤侵蚀主要是由雨滴击溅、坡面径流引起,而森林植被作为陆地上最重要的生态系统以其林冠层、林木茎杆、林地上富集的枯枝落叶层、根系层以及发育疏松而深厚的土壤层截持和蓄储大气降水,发挥着其特有的水文生态功能,从多个角度影响降雨和坡面流的水力特性,在防治土壤侵蚀方面有其不可缺少的意义,然而目前对森林植被防治坡面土壤水蚀机理系统的研究还较少。系统的总结了森林植被各个垂直层次对坡面水蚀作用的动力学机理以及不同学者在此领域所做出的研究成果及此项研究的研究现状,并从以下几个方面指出了林地坡面水蚀作用动力学机理研究中尚存在的问题及发展方向:林冠对降雨重新分配出现林冠截持和干流等现象,降雨雨滴的大小、分布、降落速度和动能等性质发生变化,林冠层通过改变雨滴特性来影响坡面流水力特性,进而改变坡面流对坡面的侵蚀机理;森林植被茎干对径流的分散阻止作用,增大地表径流的阻力系数,茎干绕流现象对坡面土壤侵蚀的作用有正反两方面,林木在一定种植密度内,会使得泥沙起动流速减小,增加坡面侵蚀,因此应合理选择林木的种植密度才能起到减少坡面水蚀的作用;坡面流在枯落物层中流动并穿过枯落物层后下渗进入土壤的过程,类似于水流在多孔介质中的流动,枯落物的物理性质如分解程度、空隙度等的变化,引起水流流动的状态变化复杂,有必要应用渗流理论来深入研究以搞清其流动机理;根系层的存在能逐步改善土壤的内在特性,稳定表土层结构、提高土壤入渗性能使其抗侵蚀能力加强,植物根系层对坡面水蚀作用的研究是一个崭新的领域,需从土力学和植物根系影响土壤力学性质的角度研究土壤的抗侵蚀能力。  相似文献

The present study attempted to assess the levels of enteric viruses, as well as their serotypes, present in the wastewaters of the central Athens sewer of Keratsini (Greece), and in the receiving coastal sea-waters in the vicinity. From the parallel examination of 24 samples from each sampling source, during 1985, viruses were detected in 100% of wastewaters and in 87.5% of the receiving sea-waters. The virus loads in the receiving waters, 100 meters away from the polluting source, were found to be as low as 13% of the total virus content detected at the polluting source. From the identification of the recovered field-isolates it was found that in the polluting source (wastewater) 13 different serotypes of enteroviruses were present (not including untyped isolates), where as in the receiving coastal waters were found nine different serotypes, which correlate with those found in sewage effluents. The maximum levels detected from both sources were found in late Summer early Fall.  相似文献

综合运用传统水文学、氢氧稳定同位素和原位模拟降雨等方法,研究了桂西北白云岩坡地典型土体构型石灰土微区(2 m×1.2 m)土壤水文功能.白云岩峰丛坡地沿坡向下表现出通体砂、上壤下砂、通体壤、上黏下砂4种典型石灰土土链格局,所有构型土体微区地表稳定入渗速率高达41~48 mm·h-1,地表径流少,且表现为蓄满产流,壤中流和深层渗漏是重要水文过程;壤中流依据土壤发生层层次分为A、C层壤中流,对于A层壤中流,通体砂、上黏下砂以及上壤下砂构型土体微区以基质流为主,通体壤构型土体表现为优先流;对于C层壤中流,所有构型土体微区均表现为优先流特征.白云岩坡地土壤连续分布,虽土层浅薄但仍表现出沿坡向下的土链格局,不同土体构型土壤水文性质的差异主要体现在地表以下各界面产流过程,研究证实该区土壤水文功能的研究应具备三维立体视角,发展更加侧重地下水文过程观测和研究的新方法,才能全面揭示喀斯特坡地近地表水文过程.  相似文献

A bioflocculant-producing bacterium was isolated from soil and identified as Serratia ficaria. Using optimized culture conditions a flocculating activity of 95.4% was obtained. It was found to be effective for flocculation of a kaolin suspension over weakly acidic pH (5-7); divalent cations (Ca2+ and Mg2+) enhanced the flocculating activity, while the co-presence of Al3+ and Fe3+ resulted the negative effect. Measurements of zeta potential revealed that charge neutralization played an important role in the flocculation. It could flocculate a variety of real wastewaters, including river water, brewery wastewater, meat processing wastewater and soy sauce brewing wastewater. The bioflocculant was also used to treat pulp effluent, and the removal rate of color and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were up to 99.9% and 72.1%, respectively, which were better than traditional chemical flocculants.  相似文献

The study assessed the effect of soil slope on Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis transport into rainwater runoff from agricultural soil after application of M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis-contaminated slurry. Under field conditions, 24 plots of undisturbed loamy soil 1 by 2 m2 were placed on platforms. Twelve plots were used for water runoff: 6 plots at a 3% slope and 6 plots at a 15% slope. Half of the plots of each slope were treated with M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis-contaminated slurry, and half were not treated. Using the same experimental design, 12 plots were established for soil sampling on a monthly basis using the same spiked slurry application and soil slopes. Runoff following natural rainfall was collected and analyzed for M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis, coliforms, and turbidity. M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis was detected in runoff from all plots treated with contaminated slurry and one control plot. A higher slope (15%) increased the likelihood of M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis detection but did not affect the likelihood of finding coliforms. Daily rainfall increased the likelihood that runoff would have coliforms and the coliform concentration, but it decreased the M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis concentration in the runoff. When there was no runoff, rain was associated with increased M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis concentrations. Coliform counts in runoff were related to runoff turbidity. M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis presence/absence, however, was related to turbidity. Study duration decreased bacterial detection and concentration. These findings demonstrate the high likelihood that M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis in slurry spread on pastures will contaminate water runoff, particularly during seasons with high rainfall. M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis contamination of water has potential consequences for both animal and human health.  相似文献

模拟降雨下喀斯特坡耕地土壤养分输出机制   总被引:8,自引:1,他引:7  
喀斯特区坡耕地水土及养分流失不仅是该区土地质量退化、土地生产力衰退主要原因,同时也是该区地下水质污染的重要因素。为揭示喀斯特坡耕地地表和地下二元空间结构下的土壤养分流失机制,以喀斯特坡耕地为研究对象,通过模拟其地表微地貌及地下孔(裂)隙构造特征,采用人工模拟降雨试验研究不同雨强下喀斯特坡耕地地表及地下水土及其氮、磷、钾流失特征。结果表明:(1)小雨强(50mm/h)和中雨强下(70mm/h),喀斯特坡耕地坡面产流主要以地下产流为主;大雨强下(90mm/h),地表径流高于地下径流;产沙方式则表现为由小雨的地表和地下产沙并重到中大雨强的地表产沙为主的一个转变过程。(2)在降雨侵蚀过程中,径流各养分输出浓度均表现出一定的初期冲刷效应,受土壤吸附作用影响,雨强对全钾(TK)和全氮(TN)的影响较全磷(TP)明显。(3)地表径流、地表泥沙和总泥沙各养分输出负荷均随雨强增大而增加,坡面径流泥沙总的TK输出负荷以泥沙为主,而TN和TP输出负荷则以径流为主;TP和TN在径流的输出负荷上以地下径流输出为主(其中TP地表负荷比在11.6%—46.2%,TN在7.0%—48.5%之间),而TK则以二者并重(地表负荷比在43.5%—57.0%之间);各养分在泥沙的输出负荷上则均以地表泥沙流失为主,其负荷比均在54.5%以上。研究结果可为喀斯特区坡耕地水土流失及养分流失的源头控制提供基本参数和科学依据。  相似文献

Biological treatment of nitrogen deficient wastewaters are usually accomplished by external addition of nitrogen sources to the wastewater which is an extra cost item. As an alternative for effective biological treatment of nitrogen deficient wastewaters, the nitrogen fixing bacterium, Azotobacter vinelandii, was used in activated sludge and also in pure culture. Total organic carbon (TOC) removal performances of Azotobacter-added and free activated sludge cultures were compared at different initial TN/TOC ratios. The rate and extent of TOC removal were comparable for all cultures when initial TN/TOC ratio was larger than 0.12; however, both the rate and extent of TOC removal from nitrogen deficient (TN/TOC<12%) synthetic wastewater were improved by using Azotobacter-added activated sludge as compared to the Azotobacter-free activated sludge culture. More than 90% TOC removal was obtained with pure Azotobacter or Azotobacter-added activated sludge culture from a nitrogen deficient synthetic wastewater.  相似文献

在湖南会同生态站的人工杉木林集水区,对比研究了不同间伐强度对地表径流影响。结果表明:降雨量大小是形成地表径流的主要原因,即地表径流随降雨量上升而增大。在不出现大暴雨及特大暴雨的情形下,间伐样地产生的地表径流比对照样地小,其中,30%的间伐强度更利于减小地表径流。通过对不同月份的降雨量与地表径流的关系研究,证明了单次降雨量,而非降雨总量,才是导致地表径流形成的主要原因。通过地表径流与林下植被、土壤特性的多元相关分析可知,地表径流与枯落物量、灌木草本层盖度、土壤非毛管孔隙、水稳性土壤团聚体粒径呈显著负相关,与土壤容重呈显著正相关。间伐正是通过改变上述因子而增强了水土保持能力,减小了地表径流的形成。在人工杉木林条件下和间伐强度范围内,30%的间伐强度下的影响更显著,更有助于减小地表径流。  相似文献

To control the dissolved reactive phosphorus (DRP) concentration in a soil solution, a number of soil amendments were tested. In the current study, Blast Furnace Slag (BFS) and Water Treatment Residues (WTR) were tested on bare soil under two rainfall intensities and two soil roughness levels. The soil was fertilized with P (KH2PO4) at a rate of 400 kg ha?1 while BFS and WTR were applied at a rate of 5 g per 100 g of soil. Two soil roughness levels were exposed to artificial rainfall intensities of 30 and 65 mm h?1. Three rainfall events were performed on each treatment. The runoff water generated over an area of 0.5 m2 with a slope of 8% was collected at different time intervals and analyzed for DRP, Al, Fe, and K concentrations. The results showed that, regardless of rainfall intensity and soil roughness, the concentration of DRP in the runoff water increased with increasing runoff time from the unamended plots. However, in the BFS- and WTR-amended soils, the DRP concentration decreased with runoff time. Dissolved reactive P and DRP loads were the lowest from the WTR-amended plots, followed by the control and the BFS treatment plots. Water treatment residues reduced the mean DRP concentration by 27.3% and the DRP load by 32% compared to unamended plots. The two rainfall intensities significantly affected the DRP concentration and load. Under the low rainfall intensity, the DRP concentration and load were higher compared to the high rainfall intensity. The overall DRP concentration was not affected by changes in soil roughness. However, the DRP loads were higher from the plots with low soil roughness levels, especially during the first and second runs. Both the BFS and WTR were also effective in reducing the DRP concentrations in the drain water collected during the runoff events. The concentrations of Al, Fe, and K in the runoff water were not affected by the soil amendments. However, the electrical conductivity and pH readings were higher from the BFS-amended plots.  相似文献

以腾格里沙漠东南缘沙质草地和灌丛生境为研究对象,采用人工模拟降雨实验对草地样方、灌丛间裸地样方及含灌丛斑块样方的产流及氮流失过程进行观测,揭示了地表径流及其引起的氮流失对沙质草地灌丛化的响应.结果表明:(1)草地样方出现表面积水和地表径流的时间及开始产流需要的降雨量均大于含灌丛斑块样方和灌丛间裸地样方,裸地样方最小;灌丛生境径流系数为34.46%,显著小于裸地样方,大于含灌丛样方,产流量是沙质草地生境的2.26倍;表明灌木入侵造成的植被盖度下降引起了土壤水分入渗率的减小和地表产流的增加.(2)含灌丛样方单位体积径流含氮量瞬时值大于裸地样方,小于草地样方,三类样方瞬时值与单位时间径流量均呈线性负相关;草地样方单位时间氮流失量略小于含灌丛样方,两者均显著小于灌丛间裸地样方;灌丛生境氮流失总量为0.23 g/m2,是草地生境的2.09倍,灌丛和草地生境单位体积径流含氮量总体平均值分别为0.011 g/L、0.012 g/L;表明沙质草地灌丛化引起了养分流失的显著增加.  相似文献

武汉市位于桐柏山大别山国家级水土流失预防区与幕阜山省级水土流失治理区之间,其土壤侵蚀问题对长江中游生态安全具有重要影响。基于2009-2018年武汉市蔡店、磨盘山、西湖流域、燕子山等4个水土保持监测站35个径流小区的观测数据(139组),定量分析了坡度、侵蚀性降水量、土地利用和水土保持措施对土壤侵蚀的影响,并借鉴USLE模型识别土壤侵蚀主导因子。结果表明,裸地小区的平均土壤侵蚀模数最高(2597.57 t km-2 a-1),其次是经济林、草地和耕地小区且三者的侵蚀模数相差不大,土壤侵蚀模数与侵蚀性降雨量、坡度之间呈显著二元线性或幂函数关系;与天然植被小区相比,植物篱(草带、茶树、紫穗槐)及石坎梯田措施均显著降低了土壤侵蚀模数,其中植物篱措施的效果更优,且草带植物篱小区的侵蚀模数最低(46.13 t km-2 a-1);3个坡度等级(0-10°、10-20°、20-25°)小区平均侵蚀模数分别为892.07、911.15、2087.60 t km-2 a-1,表明坡度超过20°后土壤侵蚀严重加剧;武汉市土壤侵蚀的主导因子为水土保持措施、植被覆盖与管理因子。研究结果可为武汉市水土保持措施合理布设及侵蚀预报模型的完善提供依据,基于径流小区长期观测数据的土壤侵蚀定量研究值得进一步深入。  相似文献

模拟降雨条件下生物结皮坡面产流产沙对雨强的响应   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
生物结皮是黄土丘陵区退耕地广泛存在的地被物.本研究通过人工模拟降雨试验分析了雨强对生物结皮坡面产流产沙的影响.结果表明: 生物结皮坡面产流产沙随降雨历时的延长先增加、10~18 min趋于平稳.相对于裸土坡面,生物结皮显著延长了坡面初始产流时间,抑制了坡面产流产沙,可降低21%~78%的坡面径流量和77%~95%的产沙量.雨强主要通过影响生物结皮坡面径流而影响其产沙.随着雨强的增加,生物结皮坡面产流产沙与雨强的相关性出现了由不显著相关向显著相关的转折,雨强>1.5 mm·min-1时,生物结皮坡面的减流减沙作用随着雨强的增加而降低.本研究结果为降雨条件下生物结皮坡面产流产沙过程的模型模拟奠定了基础.  相似文献
