目的:研究镁补充对2型糖尿病大鼠糖脂代谢的影响。方法:将用高脂饮食联合链脲佐菌素(STZ)方法诱发的2型糖尿病大鼠随机分为四个组,糖尿病对照组喂饲高脂饲料,高、中、低剂量组在高脂饲料中分别加入2000、1000、200 mg/kg的镁(以镁离子计)。自由饮食喂养四周,处死动物。用放射免疫法测血清胰岛素(Ins)水平、用葡萄糖氧化酶法测空腹血浆葡萄糖(fasting plasmaglucose,FPG),并计算胰岛素敏感指数(insulin sensitivity index,ISI)。比色法检测糖化血红蛋白(glycosylated hemoglobin,HbA1c)。用全自动生化分析仪测高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,HDLC)、甘油三酯(triglyceride,TG)、总胆固醇(total cholesterol,TC)。结果:高剂量组的空腹血糖、空腹血清、糖化血红蛋白、甘油三酯、总胆固醇水平均较糖尿病对照组显著性降低(P<0.05),而高密度脂蛋白胆固醇、胰岛素敏感指数较糖尿病对照组显著性升高(P<0.05)。结论:镁补充可以提高2型糖尿病大鼠胰岛素敏感性,改善糖尿病大鼠的糖脂代谢情况。  相似文献

目的:探讨2型糖尿病患者凝血功能及血清肿瘤坏死因子α(TNF-α)及白细胞介素18(IL-18)水平与糖尿病血管病变的关系。方法:选择2014年6月-2015年10月在我院接受治疗的2型糖尿病患者83例作为研究对象,根据患者疾病进展情况将其分为血管病变组(45例)和无血管病变组(38例)。测定两组患者凝血酶时间(TT)、活化部分凝血酶原时间(APTT)、凝血酶原时间(PT)、纤维蛋白原(Fg)、血糖(Glu)、糖化血红蛋白(Hb A1c)、肿瘤坏死因子α(TNF-α)及白细胞介素18(IL-18)水平;采用logistics回归分析2型糖尿病患者发生血管病变的危险因素。结果:血管病变组患者Glu,Hb A1c及Fg水平均显著高于无血管病变组,而APTT及PT水平均显著低于无血管病变组,差异均具有统计学意义(P0.05);两组间TT水平比较,差异无统计学意义(P0.05)。血管病变组患者血清中TNF-α及IL-18水平均高于无血管病变组患者,差异具有统计学意义(P0.05)。Hb A1c,Fg,TNF-α以及IL-18水平异常是2型糖尿病患者发生血管病变的独立危险因素(OR=1.23,1.45,2.632,3.884,P0.05)。结论:凝血功能紊乱及炎症反应是2型糖尿病患者发生血管病变的重要因素,临床应给予重视。  相似文献

目的:观察替米沙坦联合叶酸治疗对老年H型高血压合并2型糖尿病患者凝血功能及肾功的影响.为老年H型高血压合并2型糖尿病患者的临床治疗以及延缓病程提供理论依据.方法:选择66例符合标准的老年H型高血压合并2型糖尿病患者,测定血压,胰岛素敏感指数,糖化血红蛋白,同型半胱氨酸,凝血指标及尿白蛋白排泄率(UAE)等基线数据.上述患者随机分为对照组及实验组,分别接受替米沙坦80 mg/d及替米沙坦80 mg/d+叶酸片0.8 mg/d治疗后,于24周后复查上述指标,并与用药前进行对比研究.结果:对照组及实验组患者均较治疗前血压下降,糖化血红蛋白、纤维蛋白原、尿白蛋白排泄率明显下降(P<0.05),胰岛素敏感指数较治疗前升高(P<0.05).经治疗后,实验组患者较对照组血压、糖化血红蛋白、同型半胱氨酸、纤维蛋白原、尿白蛋白排泄率下降均低于对照组(P<0.05),胰岛素敏感指数较对照组升高(P<0.05).结论:对于老年H型高血压合并2型糖尿病患者替米沙坦联合叶酸治疗较单纯替米沙坦治疗具有更良好的降压作用,增加胰岛素敏感性,改善高凝状态,改善肾功.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo evaluate the glycemic effect of colesevelam, rosiglitazone, or sitagliptin when added to metformin monotherapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and to examine the effects of these antidiabetes agents on lipid and lipoprotein levels.MethodsThis 16-week, open-label pilot study conducted between May 2007 and April 2008 at 20 sites in the United States, 7 sites in Mexico, and 6 sites in Colombia, enrolled adults with inadequately controlled type 2 DM (glycated hemoglobin [HbA1c], 7.0%-10.0%) on a stable metformin regimen (1500-2550 mg daily for ≥ 3 months). At Week 0, participants were randomly assigned 1:1:1 to open-label colesevelam hydrochloride, 3.75 g daily; openlabel rosiglitazone maleate, 4 mg daily; or open-label sitagliptin phosphate, 100 mg daily, in addition to existing metformin therapy. The primary efficacy variable was the change in HbA1c from baseline to Week 16 with last (postbaseline) observation carried forward.ResultsIn total, 169 participants were randomly assigned to treatment groups (colesevelam, n = 57; rosiglitazone, n = 56; and sitagliptin, n = 56), and 141 participants (83.4%) completed the study. Least-squares mean reductions in HbA1c from baseline were observed in all groups at Week 16 last observation carried forward (colesevelam, -0.3% [P <.031]; rosiglitazone: -0.6% [P <.001]; sitagliptin: -0.4% [P <.009]) At study end, 10 of 56 participants (17.9%) in the colesevelam group, 19 of 54 (35.2%) in the rosiglitazone group, and 15 of 55 (27.3%) in the sitagliptin group achieved HbA1c < 7.0%. Colesevelam significantly reduced mean low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol levels relative to baseline (11.6%), whereas levels were significantly increased with rosiglitazone and sitagliptin at Week 16 last observation carried forward (7.8% and 7.7%, respectively). Twenty-two of 52 participants (42.3%) in the colesevelam group, 12 of 51 (23.5%) in the rosiglitazone group, and 13 of 53 (24.5%) in the sitagliptin group achieved LDL cholesterol < 100 mg/dL at Week 16 last observation carried forward.ConclusionAll 3 antidiabetes agents significantly improved glycemic control, but only colesevelam also significantly reduced LDL-cholesterol levels in patients with type 2 DM. This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of probiotic supplementation on genetic and metabolic profiles in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) who were not on oral hypoglycemic agents. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted in 48 patients with GDM. Participants were randomly divided into two groups to intake either probiotic capsule containing Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus fermentum (2 × 109 CFU/g each) (n = 24) or placebo (n = 24) for 6 weeks. Probiotic intake upregulated peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (P = 0.01), transforming growth factor beta (P = 0.002) and vascular endothelial growth factor (P = 0.006), and downregulated gene expression of tumor necrosis factor alpha (P = 0.03) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of subjects with GDM. In addition, probiotic supplementation significantly decreased fasting plasma glucose (β, − 3.43 mg/dL; 95% CI, − 6.48, − 0.38; P = 0.02), serum insulin levels (β, − 2.29 μIU/mL; 95% CI, − 3.60, − 0.99; P = 0.001), and insulin resistance (β, − 0.67; 95% CI, − 1.05, − 0.29; P = 0.001) and significantly increased insulin sensitivity (β, 0.009; 95% CI, 0.004, 0.01; P = 0.001) compared with the placebo. Additionally, consuming probiotic significantly decreased triglycerides (P = 0.02), VLDL-cholesterol (P = 0.02), and total-/HDL-cholesterol ratio (P = 0.006) and significantly increased HDL-cholesterol levels (P = 0.03) compared with the placebo. Finally, probiotic administration led to a significant reduction in plasma malondialdehyde (P < 0.001), and a significant elevation in plasma nitric oxide (P = 0.01) and total antioxidant capacity (P = 0.01) was observed compared with the placebo. Overall, probiotic supplementation for 6 weeks to patients with GDM had beneficial effects on gene expression related to insulin and inflammation, glycemic control, few lipid profiles, inflammatory markers, and oxidative stress.

The effect of hemodialysis on the plasma glucose profile and liraglutide level after liraglutide injection was investigated in patients with diabetes and end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Either 0.6 mg or 0.9 mg liraglutide was subcutaneously administered daily to 10 Japanese type 2 diabetic patients with ESRD. Hemodialysis was conducted on days 1 and 3. Plasma liraglutide and glucose concentrations were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and a continuous glucose monitoring system, respectively. The safety profile of liraglutide was also assessed. Hemodialysis had no effect on the pharmacokinetic parameters of liraglutide in patients with diabetes and ESRD; the maximum plasma concentration (Cmax), tmax, area under the concentration-time curve (AUC), and CL/f were unaltered. Similarly, hemodialysis did not affect the mean or minimum glucose levels, AUC, or duration of hyperglycemia (>180 mg/dL) and hypoglycemia (<70 mg/dL) following liraglutide administration. However, significant increases in mean amplitude of glycemic excursions (MAGE) and standard deviation (SD) as markers of glucose fluctuation, and the maximum glucose level were observed during hemodialysis. No adverse events, including hypoglycemia, were observed after liraglutide injection, either off-hemodialysis (day 2) or on-hemodialysis (day 3). Liraglutide was well tolerated in patients with type 2 diabetes and ESRD undergoing hemodialysis. The present results suggested that hemodialysis did not affect the pharmacokinetic profile of liraglutide or most glycemic indices, with the exception of MAGE, SD, and the maximum glucose level. These results suggested that it may be possible to use liraglutide during hemodialysis for diabetes with ESRD, without dose adjustment. Objective: De-intensification of diabetes treatment is recommended in elderly patients with tight glycemic control at high risk of hypoglycemia. However, rates of de-intensification in endocrine practice are unknown. We conducted a retrospective study to evaluate the rate of de-intensification of antidiabetic treatment in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and tight glycemic control.Methods: All patients with ≥2 clinic visits over a 1-year period at a major academic diabetes center were included. De-intensification of diabetes treatment was defined as a decrease or discontinuation of any antidiabetic drug without adding another drug, or a reduction in the total daily dose of insulin or a sulfonylurea drug with or without adding a drug without risk of hypoglycemia.Results: Out of 3,186 unique patients, 492 were ≥65 years old with T2DM and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) <7.5% (<58 mmol/mol). We found 308 patients treated with a sulfonylurea drug or insulin, 102 of whom had hypoglycemia as per physician note. Among these 102 patients, 38 (37%) were advised to de-intensify therapy. In a subgroup analysis of patients ≥75 years old with HbA1c <7% (<53 mmol/mol), we found that out of 23 patients treated with a sulfonylurea drug or insulin and reporting hypoglycemia, 11 (43%) were advised de-intensification of therapy. There were no significant predictors of de-intensification of treatment.Conclusion: Our study suggests that de-intensification of antidiabetic medications is uncommon in elderly patients with T2DM. 目的:观察西格列汀治疗对初发2 型糖尿病(T2DM)患者血浆丝氨酸蛋白酶抑制物(vaspin)水平的影响,探讨其与胰岛素抵 抗的关系。方法:60 例初发2 型糖尿病患者使用西格列汀治疗12 周,采用酶联免疫法测定正常人及T2DM患者使用西格列汀治 疗前后的血浆vaspin 水平, 分析血浆vaspin水平与体重指数(BMI)、腰臀比(WHR)、胰岛素抵抗指数(HOMA- IR )、胰岛素分泌指 数(HOMA- IS )、空腹血糖(FPG)、餐后2 小时血糖(2hPG)、糖化血红蛋白(HbA1C)、甘油三酯(TG)、总胆固醇(TC)、高密度脂蛋 白胆固醇(HDL-C)和低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)等的关系。结果:2 型糖尿病组血浆vaspin 水平高于对照组(P< 0.05);2 型糖 尿病组经西格列汀治疗12 周后BMI、WHR、HbA1c、FPG 、2hPG、TG和HOMA-IR 显著下降(P<0.05),而HOMA-IS 显著升高 (P<0.05),同时西格列汀治疗后血浆vaspin 水平也显著降低(P<0.01),且vaspin 水平的降低与HOMA-IR 的改变呈明显正相 关。胰岛素抵抗指数及体重指数是影响血浆vaspin水平的独立相关因素。结论:西格列汀治疗能有效改善2 型糖尿病患者糖脂代 谢和胰岛素敏感性,降低血浆vaspin 水平。  相似文献

目的:研究大剂量胰岛素联合西格列汀对老年2型糖尿病患者的疗效。方法:选择2012年1月~2015年12月在我院进行诊治的老年2型糖尿病患者82例,随机分为两组,观察组采用大剂量胰岛素联合西格列汀治疗,对照组采用大剂量胰岛素治疗,两组均治疗3个月。比较两组治疗前后的甘油三酯、总胆固醇、低密度脂蛋白和高密度脂蛋白水平,餐后2 h血糖、空腹血糖、糖化血红蛋白,胰岛素抵抗指数、胰岛素分泌指数、每日胰岛素总量和低血糖发生次数。结果:对照组治疗前后的血脂水平无明显差异(P0.05),观察组治疗后的甘油三酯、总胆固醇和低密度脂蛋白明显降低(P0.05),高密度脂蛋白明显升高(P0.05);治疗后,两组的餐后2 h血糖、空腹血糖、糖化血红蛋白均明显降低(P0.05),且观察组降低更为明显(P0.05);对照组治疗前后的胰岛素抵抗指数、胰岛素分泌指数和每日胰岛素总量均无明显差异(P0.05),观察组治疗后的胰岛素抵抗指数和每日胰岛素总量均明显降低(P0.05),胰岛素分泌指数明显升高(P0.05);两组治疗前后低血糖发生次数和身体质量指数均无明显差异(P0.05)。结论:大剂量胰岛素联合西格列汀能有效控制老年2型糖尿病患者的血糖水平,改善胰岛β细胞功能,减少胰岛素用量,是一种安全有效的治疗方法。  相似文献

Aims/Hypothesis

Recent evidence suggests a link between myocardial steatosis and diabetic cardiomyopathy. Insulin, as a lipogenic and growth-promoting hormone, might stimulate intramyocardial lipid (MYCL) deposition and hypertrophy. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the short-term effects of insulin therapy (IT) on myocardial lipid content and morphology in patients with T2DM.

Methods

Eighteen patients with T2DM were recruited (age 56±2 years; HbA1c: 10.5±0.4%). In 10 patients with insufficient glucose control under oral medication IT was initiated due to secondary failure of oral glucose lowering therapy (IT-group), while 8 individuals did not require additional insulin substitution (OT-group). In order to assess MYCL and intrahepatic lipid (IHLC) content as well as cardiac geometry and function magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and imaging (MRI) examinations were performed at baseline (IT and OT) and 10 days after initiation of IT. Follow up measurements took place 181±49 days after IT.

Results

Interestingly, basal MYCLs were 50% lower in IT- compared to OT-group (0.41±0.12 vs. 0.80±0.11% of water signal; p = 0.034). After 10 days of IT, an acute 80%-rise in MYCL (p = 0.008) was observed, while IHLC did not change. Likewise, myocardial mass (+13%; p = 0.004), wall thickness in end-diastole (+13%; p = 0.030) and concentricity, an index of cardiac remodeling, increased (+28%; p = 0.026). In the long-term MYCL returned to baseline, while IHCL significantly decreased (−31%; p = 0.000). No acute changes in systolic left ventricular function were observed.

Conclusions/Interpretation

The initiation of IT in patients with T2DM was followed by an acute rise in MYCL concentration and myocardial mass.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo describe the clinical and laboratory characteristics of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in adult Peruvian patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.MethodsIn this cross-sectional analysis, we reviewed clinical charts of type 2 diabetic patients with DKA admitted to Cayetano Heredia Hospital between 2001 and 2005 for data on demographics, previous treatment, previous hospital admissions for DKA, family history of diabetes, precipitating factors, hospital course, mortality, and insulin use 3 and 6 months after the index DKA episode. Patients older than 18 years who had confirmed DKA were included. Patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus were excluded.ResultsWe report on 53 patients with DKA for whom complete clinical and laboratory data were available. Of the 53 patients, 39 (74%) were men; mean age (± SD) was 45 ± 12 years; and 22 (42%) had no previous diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. The following mean (± SD) laboratory values were obtained at DKA diagnosis: glucose, 457 ± 170 mg/dL; pH, 7.15 ± 0.14; bicarbonate, 7.73 ± 6 mEq/L; and anion gap, 24.45 ± 7.44 mEq/L. Of the 53 DKA episodes, 35 (66%) were severe (arterial pH < 7.0 and/or serum bicarbonate < 10 mEq/L). The following precipitating factors were discerned: discontinuation of treatment in 21 (40%), infections in 16 (30%), intercurrent illness in 3 (6%), and no identifiable cause in 13 (25%). Mortality rate was 0%. Three and 6 months after the index DKA episode, insulin was used by 65% and 56% of patients, respectively.ConclusionIn countries with a low incidence of type 1 diabetes, DKA is frequently reported in patients with type 2 diabetes. In this study, 42% of patients had new-onset disease. Most DKA episodes were severe and were related to infection or noncompliance with treatment. (Endocr Pract. 2008;14:442-446)  相似文献

The onychomycosis incidence was determined in 250 type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients who were registered at the Internal Medicine Service from a Mexico city General Hospital throughout a year (January-December 2006). Out of the total of studied T2DM patients, 93 (37.2%) showed ungual dystrophy and from these, in 75.3% a fungal etiology was corroborated. Out of 70 patients, 34 were men and 36 women, with an average of 63.5 years. Correlation between T2DM evolution time and onychomycosis was significant (P < 0.01). Distal-lateral subungual and total dystrophic onychomycosis were the most frequent clinical types (55.1% and 33.7%, respectively). Fifty-eight fungal isolates were obtained; 48.6% corresponded to dermatophytes, Trichophyton rubrum being the first species (37.1%). All these strains corresponded to two morphological varieties: "yellow" and typical downy. From the yeast-like isolates, 12 corresponded to Candida spp., firstly C. albicans and C. parapsilosis; three to Cryptococcus spp. (C. albidus, C. uniguttulatus and C. laurentii); two Trichosporon asahii; and only one to Pichia ohmeri. Six non-dermatophytic molds were isolated: two Chrysosporium keratinophylus, two Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, one Aspergillus fumigatus, and one Acremonium sp. The fungal mixture corresponded to T. mentagrophytes with C. guilliermondii; T. mentagrophytes with C. glabrata; T. rubrum with C. glabrata; T. rubrum with P. ohmeri.  相似文献

Methods114 type 2 diabetic patients on standard oral hypoglycemic drugs were assigned into 2 groups by convenience. The control group (n = 57) received activated charcoal as placebo and NS group (n = 57) received 2g NS, daily, for one year in addition to their standard medications. Fasting blood glucose (FBG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), C- peptide, total antioxidant capacity (TAC), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) at the baseline, and every 3 months thereafter were determined. Insulin resistance and β-cell activity were calculated using HOMA 2 calculator.ResultsComparison between the two groups showed a significant drop in FBG (from 180±5.75 to 180±5.59 in control Vs from 195±6.57 to 172 ±5.83 in NS group), HbA1c (from 8.2±0.12 to 8.5±0.14 in control VS from 8.6±0.13 to 8.2±0.14 in NS group), and TBARS (from 48.3±6.89 to 52.9 ±5.82 in control VS from 54.1±4.64 to 41.9 ±3.16 in NS group), in addition to a significant elevation in TAC, SOD and glutathione in NS patients compared to controls. In NS group, insulin resistance was significantly lower, while β-cell activity was significantly higher than the baseline values during the whole treatment period.ConclusionLong term supplementation with Nigella sativa improves glucose homeostasis and enhances antioxidant defense system in type 2 diabetic patients treated with oral hypoglycemic drugs.

ObjectiveTo review the pathophysiologic basis for the classic phenotype associated with diabetic dyslipidemia, discuss recent advances in lipid and lipoprotein testing for risk assessment and lipid therapy monitoring, and summarize a systematic approach to the clinical management of diabetic dyslipidemia.MethodsWe review the pertinent literature, including treatment guidelines and results of major clinical trials, and discuss the effectiveness of various pharmacologic interventions for management of lipid levels in patients with diabetes.ResultsThe incidence and prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus continue to escalate globally at alarming rates. Diabetes predisposes to multiple microvascular and macrovascular complications, including cardiovascular disease, the number 1 cause of mortality in the United States. The third report of the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel in 2001 identified diabetes as a coronary heart disease (CHD) risk equivalent, in light of the evidence that CHD risk in persons with diabetes is similar to that of nondiabetic persons with established CHD. Diabetic dyslipidemia is characterized by a constellation of lipid derangements—hypertriglyceridemia, a low concentration of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and a high concentration of small, dense low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles—that accelerate the progression of atherosclerotic disease and the development of atherothrombotic events.ConclusionStatin trials have demonstrated significant reductions in morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular diseases, including in patients with diabetes. Nevertheless, many patients who achieve their LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) goal still have residual CHD risk. Diabetic dyslipidemia contributes to this residual risk because of the increased concentration of atherogenic apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins that can persist despite normalized LDL-C levels and low HDL-C levels. ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of testosterone treatment on insulin resistance, glycemic control, and dyslipidemia in Asian Indian men with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and hypogonadism.MethodsWe conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study in 22 men, 25 to 50 years old, with T2DM and hypogonadism. Patients were treated with intramuscularly administered testosterone (200 mg every 15 days) or placebo for 3 months in random order, followed by a washout period of 1 month before the alternative treatment phase. The primary outcomes were changes in fasting insulin sensitivity (as measured by homeostasis model assessment [HOMA] in those patients not receiving insulin), fasting blood glucose, and hemoglobin A1c. The secondary outcomes were changes in fasting lipids, blood pressure, body mass index, waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, and androgen deficiency symptoms. Statistical analysis was performed on the delta values, with the treatment effect of placebo compared with the effect of testosterone.ResultsTreatment with testosterone did not significantly influence insulin resistance measured by the HOMA index (mean treatment effect, 1.67 ± 4.29; confidence interval, -6.91 to 10.25; P > .05). Mean change in hemoglobin A1c (%) (-1.75 ± 5.35; -12.46 to 8.95) and fasting blood glucose (mg/dL) (20.20 ± 67.87; -115.54 to 155.94) also did not reach statistical significance. Testosterone treatment did not affect fasting lipids, blood pressure, and anthropometric determinations significantly.ConclusionIn this study, testosterone treatment showed a neutral effect on insulin resistance and glycemic control and failed to improve dyslipidemia, control blood pressure, or reduce visceral fat significantly in Asian Indian men with T2DM and hypogonadism. Background

Many studies assessed the impact of marine omega-3 fatty acids on glycemic homeostasis and lipid profiles in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM), but reported controversial results. Our goal was to systematically evaluate the effects of omega-3 on glucose control and lipid levels.

Methods

Medline, Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Embase, the National Research Register, and SIGLE were searched to identify eligible randomized clinical trials (RCTs). Extracted data from RCTs were analyzed using STATA 11.0 statistical software with fixed or random effects model. Effect sizes were presented as weighted mean differences (WMD) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Heterogeneity was assessed using the Chi-square test with significance level set at p < 0.1.

Results

20 RCT trials were included into this meta-analysis. Among patients with omega-3 supplementation, triglyceride (TG) levels were significantly decreased by 0.24 mmol/L. No marked change in total cholesterol (TC), HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose, postprandial plasma glucose, BMI or body weight was observed. High ratio of EPA/DHA contributed to a greater decreasing tendency in plasma insulin, HbAc1, TC, TG, and BMI measures, although no statistical significance was identified (except TG). FPG levels were increased by 0.42 mmol/L in Asians. No evidence of publication bias was observed in this meta-analysis.

Conclusions

The ratio of EPA/DHA and early intervention with omega 3 fatty acids may affect their effects on glucose control and lipid levels, which may serve as a dietary reference for clinicians or nutritionists who manage diabetic patients.  相似文献
