The Intestines of the Mugilidae (Pisces Teleostei) at different growth stages. II-Ultrastructural and cytophysiological aspects The ultrastructures and functions of the columnar cells of the intestinal epithelia are characterized, from the larva to the adult stage: major transformations of the endoplasmatic reticulum, passage of SER/RER from 1 to 3, noticeable encrease of Golgi activity, development of lamellar structures forming a “mitochondrial pump” together with the basal mitochondria, at all levels of the intestine. Localized mainly in the posterior region of the juvenil stages, pinocytosis of the alimentary proteins and the associated lytic processus extend in the adult to the anterior region. Lipid absorption takes place essentially in the anterior part, resulting at all stages of development in the presence of lipid particles in the SER and in the intercellular spaces, and in the adult only in rare free lipid droplets in the cytoplasma. Correlations are rare between the evolution of organelles and cellular inclusions observed during the growth and the diet.  相似文献

Spatial organization of collagenous fibrils in the basal plate of elasmoid scales has been studied in 36 species among 24 teleost families which include the whole order. Angle measurements of the various fibrillary directions were performed on fracture surfaces in frozen scales observed with the scanning electron microscope. The organization of the basal plate is arrayed in three basic patterns. The most remarkable one, found in the more "primitive" families, is a double twisted plywood with a left-handed rotation of the fibrillary directions. The remaining two are an orthogonal plywood, more or less regular, and an "intermediate" plywood, both found among the more "advanced" families. However, an orthogonal plywood is also observed in some "primitive" families, for example in Clupeidae and Salmonidae. We tentatively interpret the left-handed double twisted plywood of the lower teleosteans and of Amiidae as a synapomorphy in relation to the primitive condition of an actinopterygian lineage. On the other hand, within the teleosts, we would consider that the double twisted plywood is a plesiomorphic condition and that the orthogonal plywood is an apomorphy among the "advanced" teleosts families.  相似文献

Acute toxicity, accumulation and histological effects produced by various concentrations of platinum (H2PtCl6) in the intestine of Brachydanio rerio were investigated. Degenerative (lysis and necrosis of mucosal cells, changes in submucosa structure) and adaptative (fusion between villi) responses were revealed. The extent and the severity of the intestinal alterations were time- and concentration-dependent. Intestinal recovery was noted after 15 days of exposure to a sublethal Pt concentration (16 μg/L) followed by 64-day depuration. The characterization of the intestine responses in fish that were experimentally exposed to Pt can provide a basis for recognizing toxicity syndromes and should in fine be of use in the early prognosis of the effects of environmental aquatic Pt pollution.  相似文献

For the larvae of the ephemeron Cloeon, our studies of acute toxicity show that the degradation products of fenthion are more toxic than the insecticide itself.Doses of fenthion and lindane, responsible of a hight mortality, lead to a decrease in the moulting frequency of these larvae. A mixture of herbicides and degradation products of fenthion gave different results.

Résumé L'étude ultrastructurale des spermatogonies et des spermatocytes a été envisagée chez Lithobius forficatus L. (Myriapode Chilopode). Les spermatogonies présentent un noyau à chromatine dispersée dont le nucléole est condensé. Leur cytoplasme renferme des ribosomes, libres ou associés en polysomes; les mitochondries et les dictyosomes sont peu abondants.Au cours de la croissance spermatocytaire, le noyau et le cytoplasme augmentent considérablement de volume. La dispersion de la chromatine est plus importante et le nucléole présente de nombreuses figures de bourgeonnement. Les ribosomes, les mitochondries, les dictyosomes et le reticulum endoplasmique sont très abondants. De nouvelles formations sont observables: 1) des amas de saccules réticulaires concentriques, délimitant une zone cytoplasmique; 2) des empilements lamellaires ayant leur origine soit dans le reticulum banal, soit dans les amas concentriques.L'activité synthétique se manifeste lors de la croissance spermatocytaire par: 1) d'abondants échanges nucléo-cytoplasmiques; 2) une augmentation du nombre de mitochondries et des ribosomes; 3) une intense activité golgienne. Elle est vraisemblablement en rapport avec le gigantisme spermatocytaire observé chez les Myriapodes Chilopodes.
Ultrastructural study of spermatogonia and spermatocyte growth of Lithobius forficatus L. (Myriapoda, Chilopoda)
Summary The ultrastructure of spermatogonia and spermatocytes of Lithobius was studied. The spermatogonia show a nucleus with dispersed chromatin and a compact nucleolus. Their cytoplasm contains free ribosomes and polysomes; mitochondria and dictyosomes are not abundant.During spermatocyte growth, nucleus and cytoplasm increase markedly in volume. The dispersion of the chromatin is more pronounced; the nucleolus shows frequent budding. Ribosomes, mitochondria, dictyosomes and endoplasmic reticulum are very numerous. New structures are (1) accumulations of concentric reticular saccules with a cytoplasmic center, (2) piles of narrow cisternae originating from the regular endoplasmic reticulum or from concentric saccules.The synthetic activity during spermatocyte growth manifests itself by (1) numerous signs of nucleo-cytoplasmic exchanges, (2) an increase in the number of mitochondria and ribosomes, (3) a high activity of the Golgi apparatus. This is probably related to the gigantism of spermatocytes in Chilopoda.

The lacustrine sequence of Billy-Créchy (Allier) yielded four superposed fossiliferous levels that can be precisely dated for the first time and represent the upper part of the Oligocene and the basis of the Miocene. The age of the localities is given by mammals and particularly by the Rodent and Lagomorph faunas: three are ascribed to the Paleogene mammalian levels MP 29-MP30 and the upper one to the Neogene MN 1. The Paleogene faunas evidence a high degree of similarity with those of the Oligo-Miocene Lower Freshwater Molasse of Switzerland and the localities Créchy 1 and 2 correspond particularly well to the Swiss locality Brochene-Fluh 53, to which a magnetostratigraphic calibration ascribed an age between 24.1 and 23.6 Ma, the date of the Oligo-Miocene boundary being fixed at 23.8 Ma. Changes in the Rodent composition and abundance in these faunas document the impact of the Oligo-Miocene crisis, the uppermost fauna being very impoverished. The avifaunas differ from those of the Aquitanian localities of the Saint-Gérand-le-Puy area by the presence of two forms which are no longer found in the more recent deposits. These birds are mainly aquatic and indicate the proximity of shallow to moderately deep lakes, along the edge of which the Flamingo-related Palaelodidae were nesting. In Ostracod assemblages - numerous along the sequence but in most cases crushed or completely encrusted -, small-sized specimens are abundant, well-preserved, and among them Cypridopsis sp. is dominant; they are represented by adults and juveniles: they indicate shallow-water environmental conditions and unstable environment. Among large specimens, freshwater and brackish species occur; all of them are broken, coated by CaCO3: they belong to different biocenoses and attest some transport.  相似文献

Influence of some free amino acids of the ovule on growth and cellular development of the pollen tube of Juniperus communis L. in vitro. The extraction and analysis of free amino acids show that a partial complementary relationship exists between the amino acids of the pollen and those of the ovule of Juniperus communis. The main free amino acids of the pollen are threonine, proline, arginine and γ-aminobutyric acid; those of the ovule are threonine, serine, alanine, citrulline and glycine. The addition of the main amino acids of the ovule in the pollen culture media increased the growth and the cell development of pollen tubes cultured in vitro. This indicates the nature of the correlations which exist between the male and female gametophyte of Juniperus communis.  相似文献

Measuring the amounts of nitrogen and carbon in small quantities of ancient bones before radiocarbon dating using elemental analysis is a way to quantify the amount of preserved collagen and the quantity of exogenous contaminating carbon. Such a measurement can be performed on a large number of samples and allows to sort out the specimens with the best preserved collagen, those with the most carbon contamination, and eventually to infer relationships between burial conditions and collagen preservation. This approach is most interesting as a preliminary method to use before attempting radiocarbon dating using accelerator mass spectrometry of bone collagen.  相似文献

Qualitative and quantitative analyses of planktonic foraminifera (completed by calcareous nannofossils in some localities) from 8 sections and boreholes located in 7 Neogene basins of the South Rifian Corridor (Morocco) enable us to identify 16 bioevents calibrated with the geomagnetic polarity time scale. These events are useful for (1) assigning the sediments to the Tortonian (bioevents 1 to 7), the Messinian (bioevents 9 to 14, the event 8 indicates the Tortonian/Messinian boundary), the Early Pliocene (bioevent 15) and the Middle Pliocene (bioevent 16), (2) establishing high resolution correlations between the sections and boreholes studied herein, (3) locating the South Rifian Corridor sections and boreholes within the framework of biostratigraphic events recognized during the latest ten years in time-equivalent Atlantic and Mediterranean sequences, and (4) estimating the variation of sedimentation rates in the studied basins. With respect to Morocco, previous detailed studies concerned only the Rabat area (Bou Regreg valley) and Guercif basin. Our results extend correlations to the other basins of the South Rifian Corridor, a key area to understand connections between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea at the end of the Miocene.  相似文献

Data on mineral elements in spirulinas being limited, we analyzed macrominerals and trace elements of samples from France and Africa. Spirulinas cultivated in France have a composition in macromineral elements similar to those of the literature. The entire contents of trace elements are low. Unlike marine cyanobacteria, they do not concentrate rare-earth elements. Spirulina harvested in Chad has high levels in macrominerals and trace elements, due to traditional drying and harvesting methods. Rare-earth element levels are attributed to this pollution and not to their concentration in spirulinas, because rare-earth element normalized profiles of spirulina are strictly parallel to those of ouadis mud and very different from those of ouadis water. Despite the sometimes high content of total As, normal water consumption in Chad presents no health problems. Spirulinas grown in Togo, Niger, Mali, Burkina-Faso and Central African Republic have chemical compositions similar to those of Chad spirulinas, but with a lower content of macromineral and trace elements, reflecting a lower mineral pollution. Rare-earth element normalized patterns dismiss an aeolian pollution and the pollution is rather of pedological origin. They show no toxicity problem except spirulinas from Burkina-Faso, whose Pb content is too high. The variability of composition of spirulinas can be largely attributed to the mineral pollution of the samples. Significant levels of rare-earth elements sometimes found in the literature reflect this pollution.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to present the anthracological data of the Parco cave sequence. This cave, excavated since the last 25 years, shows a stratigraphic sequence from the Upper Palaeolithic to the Bronze age. The anthracological data that we are presenting correspond to the sequence corresponding to the Magdalenian and Epipaleolithic layers. The anthracological data show a dominance of Scots pine at the bottom and of junipers at the top of the deposit, suggesting a landscape transformation though time. From these results we discuss aspects related to the vegetal formations during this period. Moreover, this study has the intention of integration the anthracological record with the archaeological data already published concerning subsistence, technology and paleoecology to a better understanding to human behaviour during this period.  相似文献

This work aims at evaluating the accumulation of cadmium (Cd) and zinc (Zn) (trace elements) in the organs of young tomato plants (Lycopersicon esculentum L. var. Rio Grande) and their effects on the rate of chlorophyll and enzyme activities involved in the antioxidant system: catalase (CAT), glutathion-S-transferase (GST) and peroxysase ascorbate (APX). Plants previously grown on a basic nutrient solution were undergoing treatment for 7 days, either by increasing concentrations of CdCl2 or ZnSO4 (0, 50, 100, 250, 500 μM) or by the combined concentrations of Cd and Zn (100/50, 100/100, 100/250, 100/500 μM). The results concerning the determination of metals in the various compartments of tomato plants as a function of increasing concentrations of Cd or Zn, suggest a greater accumulation of Cd and Zn in the roots compared to leaves. The combined treatment (Cd/Zn) interferes with the absorption of the two elements according to their concentrations in the culture medium. The presence of Zn at low concentrations (50 μM of Zn/100 μM Cd) has little influence on the accumulation of Cd in the roots and leaves, while the absorption of these two elements in the leaves increases and decreases in roots when their concentrations are equivalent (100/100 μM) compared to treatment alone. When the concentration of Zn is higher than that of Cd (500 μM of Zn/100 μM Cd) absorption of the latter is inhibited in the roots while increasing their translocation to the leaves. Meanwhile, the dosage of chlorophylls shows that they tend to decrease in a dose-dependent for both treatments (Cd or Cd/Zn), however, treatment with low concentrations of Zn (50 and 100 μM) stimulates chlorophyll synthesis. However, treatment with different concentrations of Cd seems to induce the activity of the enzymes studied (CAT, APX, GST). It is the same for treatment with different concentrations of Zn and this particularly for the highest concentrations. Finally, the combined treatment (Zn/Cd) also appears to cause enzyme inductions: CAT, APX and GST.  相似文献

Some animal and mineral resources, rarely identified in the levels of the Cantabrian Magdalenian, were exploited by the Paleolithic populations of the Nalón Valley (western Asturias) at the end of the Pleistocene. In this research, we present some of them, preserved in the Las Caldas Cave: dental remains and representations of marine mammals, marine crustaceans and molluscs, and diverse remains of amber and jet. These were selected, collected in ecosystems far away from the cave and, finally, transformed by the groups. These remains seem to complement the common resources exploited in Magdalenian paleoeconomy (e.g., ungulates, birds, fish, small carnivores, vegetables, flint, quartzite, quartz) recovered and exploited biotopes closest to the site. Our aim is thus to confirm a certain mobility of these communities towards the specific sources of raw material in search of subsistence resources potentially used in the activities of these communities (e.g., food, technology, social and symbolic expression, exchange).  相似文献

Scolelepis (Malacoceros) fuliginosa Claparède acclimated to 13 and 19 °C were subjected to thermal shocks (ΔT) of 10 min duration and of amplitude from 8 to 14 °C for animals acclimated to 19 °C and up to 19 °C for animals acclimated to 13 °C. The effects of the thermal changes on LAP activity were detected after electrophoretic separation of LAP fractions.In most individuals two LAP fractions were demonstrable. The faster migrating fraction was sensitive to thermal shock, and the slower migrating fraction was virtually more thermostable.In individuals acclimated to 19 °C increased amplitude of thermal shocks caused a change in LAP activity with a decrease in the fast fraction, while the slow fraction was unaltered. The rate of decrease in the former fraction increased with increasing amplitude of the thermal change, and a greater decrease was observed in females than in males.In animals acclimated to 13 °C, a thermal shock of 19 °C resulted in a rapid and almost complete elimination of the fast migrating LAP fraction, and all males and females died within 24 h.The influence of the rate of decrease in temperature was studied after thermal shocks of amplitude 16 and 18 °C were applied to animals acclimated to 13 °C. The former temperature increase was not lethal but a considerable decrease in the activity of the fast migrating LAP fraction was observed in both sexes within 4 h, with a slow rate of subsequent temperature decrease. After a further 6 days there was some recovery of the activity in this fraction but activity remained lower than in control animals. With a rapid temperature decrease subsequent to the same 16 °C shock the decrease in activity did not occur until approximately 24 h after the thermal shock and a full recovery and enzyme activity was observed after 38 h. A thermal shock of 18 ° C, followed by a slow temperature decrease, was lethal for both sexes and the “fast” LAP fraction almost disappeared within 1 h. A rapid decrease in temperature, however, was only lethal to females, although the fast migrating LAP fraction, reduced after 1 h, subsequently disappeared in both sexes. In males only this fraction recovered briefly after 8 h but after a further 6 days activity remained lower than that observed in the controls.It is concluded that, according to their amplitude, thermal shocks progressively affect LAP activity. These effects can be minimized by increasing the rate of decrease in temperature after the shocks.  相似文献

A mixture of lambda-cyhalothrin (lambda-cyhalothrin: chemical insecticide) and Metarhizium anisopliae ( flavoviride ) var. acridum Driver and Milner, an entomopathogenic fungus (bioinsecticide) was used for grasshopper control in Mali. An oil-based formulation of Metarhizium anisopliae ( flavoviride ) var. acridum Driver and Milner has been developed by LUBILOSA a collaborative project for locust and grasshoppers control. It takes 6 to 10 days for the biopesticide to kill the hosts, which is not a problem for larvae in fallows because they will die before reaching the farmers' fields. However, if crops are infested by adults, the farmers can not wait for 6 to 10 days. An experiment was conducted in Mali using a mixture of a biopesticide and chemical pesticide. The mixture of lambda-cyhalothrin (chemical insecticide) and Metarhizium anisopliae ( flavoviride ) var. acridum (biopesticide: oil-based entomopathogenic fungus spore suspension) was applied to nymphs of Sahelian grasshoppers, using ultra low volume (ULV) sprayers. Both the mixture and lambda-cyhalothrin alone gave quick mortality, with slightly higher mortality for the mixture. Mortality due to the Metarhizium treatments began 2 days after application and subsequently reached similar levels of mortality to the lambda-cyhalothrin mixture treatments. The efficacy of the mixture was greater than Metarhizium alone. The efficacy of lambda-cyhalothrin reached 80% on the day following application, but declined after 10 days, due probably to immigration of untreated grasshoppers.  相似文献
