Bioremediation of arsenic (As) pollution is an important environmental issue. The present investigation was carried out to isolate As-resistant novel bacteria and characterize their As transformation and tolerance ability. A total of 170 As-resistant bacteria were isolated from As-contaminated soils at the Kangjiawan lead–zinc tailing mine, located in Hunan Province, southern China. Thirteen As-resistant isolates were screened by exposure to 260 mM Na2HAsO4·7H2O, most of which showed a very high level of resistance to As5+ (MIC?≥?600 mM) and As3+ (MIC?≥?10 mM). Sequence analysis of 16S rRNA genes indicated that the 13 isolates tested belong to the phyla Firmicutes, Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria, and these isolates were assigned to eight genera, Bacillus, Williamsia, Citricoccus, Rhodococcus, Arthrobacter, Ochrobactrum, Pseudomonas and Sphingomonas. Genes involved in As resistance were present in 11 of the isolates. All 13 strains transformed As (1 mM); the oxidation and reduction rates were 5–30% and 10–51.2% within 72 h, respectively. The rates of oxidation by Bacillus sp. Tw1 and Pseudomonas spp. Tw224 peaked at 42.48 and 34.94% at 120 h, respectively. For Pseudomonas spp. Tw224 and Bacillus sp. Tw133, the highest reduction rates were 52.01% at 48 h and 48.66% at 144 h, respectively. Our findings will facilitate further research into As metabolism and bioremediation of As pollution by genome sequencing and genes modification.  相似文献

Arsenite oxidizing bacteria, isolated from industrial wastewater, showed high resistance against arsenite (40 mM) and other heavy metals (10 mM Pb; 8 mM Cd; 6 mM Cr; 10 mM Cu and 26.6 mM As5+). Bacterial isolates were characterized, on the basis of morphological, biochemical and 16S rRNA ribotyping, as Bacillus cereus (1.1S) and Acinetobacter junii (1.3S). The optimum temperature and pH for the growth of both strains were found to be 37 °C and 7. Both the strains showed maximum growth after 24 h of incubation. The predominant form of arsenite oxidase was extracellular in B. cereus while in A. junii both types of activities, intracellular and extracellular, were found. The extracellular aresenite oxidase activity was found to be 730 and 750 µM/m for B. cereus and A. junii, respectively. The arsenite oxidase from both bacterial strains showed maximum activity at 37 °C, pH 7 and enhanced in the presence of Zn2+. The presence of two protein bands with molecular weight of approximately 70 and 14 kDa in the presence of arsenic points out a possible role in arsenite oxidation. Arsenite oxidation potential of B. cereus and A. junii was determined up to 92 and 88 % in industrial wastewater after 6 days of incubation. The bacterial treated wastewater improved the growth of Vigna radiata as compared to the untreated wastewater. It indicates that these bacterial strains may find some potential applications in wastewater treatment systems to transform toxic arsenite into less toxic form, arsenate.  相似文献

Understanding the dynamics of performance and bacterial community of biofilm under oligotrophic stress is necessary for the process optimization and risk management in biofilm systems for raw water pretreatment. In this study, biofilm obtained from a pilot-scale biofilm reactor was inoculated into a pilot-scale experimental tank for the treatment of oligotrophic raw water. Results showed that the removal of NH4 +–N was impaired in biofilm systems when influent NH4 +–N was less than 0.35 mg L?1 or NH4 +–N loading rate of less than 7.51 mg L?1 day?1. The dominant bacteria detected in biofilm of different carrier were obvious distinct from phylum to genus level under oligotrophic stress. The dominant bacteria in elastic stereo media carrier changed from Proteobacteria (51.1%) to Firmicutes (32.7%), while Proteobacteria was always dominant in suspended ball carrier after long-term operation under oligotrophic conditions. Oligotrophic stress largely decreased the functional bacteria for the removal of nitrogen and organics including many genera in Proteobacteria and Nitrospirae, but increased several genera with spore forming organisms or potential bacterial pathogens in ESM carrier mainly including Bacillus, Mycobacterium, Pseudomonas, etc.  相似文献

This study assessed the taxonomic hierarchy of the phylum Firmicutes as well as elucidated the isolation and classification states of novel Firmicutes species isolated from Korean territory. The hierarchical classification system of the phylum Firmicutes has been developed since 1872 when the genus Bacillus was first reported and has been generally adopted since 2001. However, this taxonomic hierarchy is still being modified. Until Feb. 2017, the phylum Firmicutes consisted of seven classes (Bacilli, Clostridia, Erysipelotrichia, Limnochordia, Negativicutes, Thermolithobacteria, and Tissierellia), 13 orders, 45 families, and 421 genera. Firmicutes species isolated from various environments in Korea have been reported from 2000, and 187 species have been approved as of Feb. 2017. All Firmicutes species were affiliated with three classes (Bacilli, Clostridia, and Erysipelotrichia), four orders (Bacillales, Lactobacillales, Clostridiales, and Erysipelotrichales), 17 families, and 54 genera. A total of 173 species belong to the class Bacilli, of which 151 species were affiliated with the order Bacillales and the remaining 22 species with the order Lactobacillales. Twelve species belonging to the class Clostridia were affiliated within only one order, Clostridiales. The most abundant family was Bacillaceae (67 species), followed by the family Paenibacillaceae (56 species). Thirteen novel genera were created using isolates from the Korean environment. A number of Firmicutes species were isolated from natural environments in Korean territory. In addition, a considerable number of species were isolated from artificial resources such as fermented foods. Most Firmicutes species, belonging to the families Bacillaceae, Planococcaceae, and Staphylococcaceae, isolated from Korean fermented foods and solar salterns were halophilic or halotolerant. Firmicutes species were isolated from the whole territory of Korea, especially large numbers from Provinces Gyeonggi, Chungnam, and Daejeon.  相似文献

Overproduction of livestock manures with unpleasant odors causes significant environmental problems. The microbial fermentation bed (MFB) system is considered an effective approach to recycling utilization of agricultural byproducts and pig manure (PM). To gain a better understanding of bacterial communities present during the degradation of PM in MFB, the PM bacterial community was evaluated at different fermentation stages using 16S rRNA high throughput sequencing technology. The heatmap plot clustered five samples into short-term fermentation stage of 0–10 days and long-term fermentation stage of 15–20 days. The most abundant OTUs at the phylum level were Firmicutes, Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria in the long-term fermentation stage of PM, whereas Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, and Proteobacteria predominated in the short-term fermentation stage of PM. At the genus level, organic degradation strains, such as Corynebacterium, Bacillus, Virgibacillus, Pseudomonas, Actinobacteria, Lactobacillus, Pediococcus were the predominate genera at the long-term fermentation stage, but were found only rarely in the short-term fermentation stage. C/N ratios increased and the concentration of the unpleasant odor substance 3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole (3-MI) decreased with prolonged period of fermentation. Redundancy analysis (RDA) demonstrated that the relative abundance of Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Acidobacteria and Proteobacteria had a close relationship with degradation of 3-MI and increasing C/N ratio. These results provide valuable additional information about bacterial community composition during PM biodegradation in animal husbandry.  相似文献

In order to evaluate the enhancement mechanisms of enhanced startup performance in biofilm systems for polluted source water pretreatment, three lab-scale reactors with elastic stereo media (ESM) were operated under different enhanced sediment and hydraulic agitation conditions. It is interesting to found the previously underestimated or overlooked effects of sediment on the enhancement of pollutants removal performance and enrichment of functional bacteria in biofilm systems. The maximum NH4 +–N removal rate of 0.35 mg L?1 h?1 in sediment enhanced condition was 2.19 times of that in control reactor. Sediment contributed to 42.0–56.5% of NH4 +–N removal and 15.4–41.2% of total nitrogen removal in different reactors under different operation conditions. The enhanced hydraulic agitation with sediment further improved the operation performance and accumulation of functional bacteria. Generally, Proteobacteria (48.9–52.1%), Bacteroidetes (18.9–20.8%) and Actinobacteria (15.7–18.5%) were dominant in both sediment and ESM bioiflm at  phylum level. The potentially functional bacteria found in sediment and ESM biofilm samples with some functional bacteria mainly presented in sediment samples only (e.g., Genera Bacillus and Lactococcus of Firmicutes phylum) may commonly contribute to the removal of nitrogen and organics.  相似文献

The study aimed to reveal the diversity of endophytic bacteria in the roots of Chinese cabbage (CC) cultivated in two areas in Korea, namely, Seosang-gun (SS) and Haenam-gun (HN), and also in a transgenic plant (TP) from the laboratory. A total of 653 colonies were isolated from the interior of CC roots, comprising 118, 302, and 233 isolates from SS, HN, and TP samples, respectively. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, the isolates belonged to four major phylogenetic groups: high-G+C Gram-positive bacteria (HGC-GPB), low-G+C Gram-positive bacteria (LGC-GPB), Proteobacteria, and Bacteriodetes. The most dominant groups in the roots of the SS, HN, and TP cultivars were LGC-GPB (48.3%), Proteobacteria (50.2%), and HGC-GPB (38.2%), respectively. Importantly, most of the isolates that produced cell-walldegrading enzymes belonged to the genus Bacillus. Bacillus sp. (HNR03, TPR06), Bacillus pumilus (SSR07, HNR11, TPR07), and Bacillus subtilis (TPR03) showed high antagonism against the tested food-borne pathogenic bacteria. In addition, Bacillus sp. (HNR03, TPR06), Bacillus pumilus (SSR07, HNR11, HNR17, TPR11), Microbacterium oxidans (SSR09, TPR04), Bacillus cereus HNR10, Pseudomonas sp. HNR13, and Bacillus subtilis (TPR02, TPR03) showed strong antagonistic activity against the fungi Phythium ultimum, Phytophthora capsici, Fusarium oxysporum, and Rhizoctonia solani. The endophytes isolated from the TP cultivar showed the strongest antagonistic reactions against pathogens. This study is the first report on endophytic bacteria from Chinese cabbage roots.  相似文献

Background

Glossina pallidipes is a haematophagous insect that serves as a cyclic transmitter of trypanosomes causing African Trypanosomiasis (AT). To fully assess the role of G. pallidipes in the epidemiology of AT, especially the human form of the disease (HAT), it is essential to know the microbial diversity inhabiting the gut of natural fly populations. This study aimed to examine the diversity of G. pallidipes fly gut bacteria by culture-dependent approaches.

Results

113 bacterial isolates were obtained from aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms originating from the gut of G. pallidipes. 16S rDNA of each isolate was PCR amplified and sequenced. The overall majority of identified bacteria belonged in descending order to the Firmicutes (86.6%), Actinobacteria (7.6%), Proteobacteria (5.5%)and Bacteroidetes (0.3%). Diversity of Firmicutes was found higher when enrichments and isolation were performed under anaerobic conditions than aerobic ones. Experiments conducted in the absence of oxygen (anaerobiosis) led to the isolation of bacteria pertaining to four phyla (83% Firmicutes, 15% Actinobacteria, 1% Proteobacteria and 0.5% Bacteroidetes, whereas those conducted in the presence of oxygen (aerobiosis) led to the isolation of bacteria affiliated to two phyla only (90% Firmicutes and 10% Proteobacteria). Phylogenetic analyses placed these isolates into 11 genera namely Bacillus, Acinetobacter, Mesorhizobium, Paracoccus, Microbacterium, Micrococcus, Arthrobacter, Corynobacterium, Curtobacterium, Vagococcus and Dietzia spp.which are known to be either facultative anaerobes, aerobes, or even microaerobes.

Conclusion

This study shows that G. pallidipes fly gut is an environmental reservoir for a vast number of bacterial species, which are likely to be important for ecological microbial well being of the fly and possibly on differing vectorial competence and refractoriness against AT epidemiology.

Prokaryotic diversity was investigated in a Tunisian salt lake, Chott El Jerid, by quantitative real-time PCR, denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) fingerprinting methods targeting the 16S rRNA gene and culture-dependent methods. Two different samples S1-10 and S2-10 were taken from under the salt crust of Chott El Jerid in the dry season. DGGE analysis revealed that bacterial sequences were related to Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, unclassified bacteria, and Deinococcus-Thermus phyla. Anaerobic fermentative and sulfate-reducing bacteria were also detected in this ecosystem. Within the domain archaea, all sequences were affiliated to Euryarchaeota phylum. Quantitative real-time PCR showed that 16S rRNA gene copy numbers of bacteria was 5 × 106 DNA copies g?1 whereas archaea varied between 5 × 105 and 106 DNA copies g?1 in these samples. Eight anaerobic halophilic fermentative bacterial strains were isolated and affiliated with the species Halanaerobium alcaliphilum, Halanaerobium saccharolyticum, and Sporohalobacter salinus. These data showed an abundant and diverse microbial community detected in the hypersaline thalassohaline environment of Chott El Jerid.  相似文献

Endophytic bacteria can stimulate host plant development. Insufficient information is available about NaCl-tolerant bacteria that colonize ice plants (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum) in their habitats. In this study, a culture-dependent method was used to isolate endophytic nitrogen-fixing bacteria from ice plants, and the resulting cultures were screened for salt-stress tolerance in vitro. A total of 17 salt-tolerant bacteria were obtained. The majority of the isolates grew well in 2.05 M NaCl with a maximum tolerance at 3.59 M. Most of the strains were Gram-positive bacteria with various plant growth-promoting traits. The 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the 17 isolates were distributed within three genera and corresponded to the bacterial species Halomonas sp., Bacillus sp., and Planococcus sp. Inoculation of cabbage (Brassica olereacea) seeds with selected strains showed that the strain MC1 promoted seed germination, and the same strain significantly increased root dry weight under saline stress by 24.5%. Our study suggests that ice plants naturally accommodate a variety of salt-tolerant endophytic bacteria and that these bacteria are able to relieve abiotic stress during plant growth.  相似文献

Arsenic, a toxic element in the environment, has seriously threatened the health of hundreds of millions of people in the world. Meanwhile, microorganisms play an important role in the adsorption and bio-transformation of arsenic. Here, we compared the biological characteristics of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans BY3 in different media systems, such as arsenic bio-adsorption and bio-transformation capacities. We show that arsenic stress significantly affected the pH and Eh of the culture systems, as well as the oxidation rates of Fe2+ and bacteria numbers. Furthermore, arsenic influenced bacterial structure and composition of the cell membrane, caused volume decreased and changed the vibration conditions of characteristic peaks of surface groups (-CH2, -NH, and –OH) on cell membranes. In addition, At.f-BY3 shows high bio-adsorption abilities and certain bio-transformation abilities for iAsIII. Bio-adsorption and conversion efficiency was also shown to be significantly affected by Fe2+ concentrations in the reaction systems. Statistic analysis revealed 10.07-fold increase of the transformation ability of iAsIII into iAsV in the 9 K growth media containing 1600 mg/L NaAsO2 compared with that in the 1 K growth media. Our findings contribute to understand the applications and microbiological mechanisms of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans in arsenic pollution.
Graphical Abstract Bio-adsorption and bio-transformation are used as a biological method of heavy metals pollution, such as Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Cr2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, As3+ and As5+ in acid mine water. The aim of this investigation was to assess the performance of arsenite (iAsIII) to adsorption and transformation by Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans BY3, and application of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans BY3 on the aspect of arsenic pollution has great potential of exploration.

Paocai is a traditional Chinese fermented food and typically produced via spontaneous fermentation. We have investigated the microbial community utilized for the fermentation of industrialized Qingcai paocai using the combination of Illumina MiSeq sequencing, PCR-mediated denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) and quantitative PCR (qPCR) assay. Three main phyla, namely Firmicutes, Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes, were identified by both MiSeq sequencing and PCR-DGGE. The dominant genera observed in the fermentation were Lactobacillus, Pseudomonas, Vibrio and Halomonas. Most genera affiliated with Proteobacteria or Bacteroidetes were detected more often during the earlier part of the fermentation, while Lactobacillus (affiliated with Firmicutes) was dominant during the later fermentation stages. Fungal community analysis revealed that Debaryomyces, Pichia and Kazachstania were the main fungal genera present in industrialized Qingcai paocai, with Debaryomyces being the most dominant during the fermentation process. The quantities of dominant genera Lactobacillus and Debaryomyces were monitored using qPCR and shown to be 109–1012 and 106–1010 copies/mL, respectively. During the later fermentation process of industrialized Qingcai paocai, Lactobacillus and Debaryomyces were present at 1011 and 108 copies/mL, respectively. These results facilitate further understanding of the unique microbial ecosystem during the fermentation of industrialized Qingcai paocai and guide future improvement of the fermentation process.  相似文献

Pyrosequencing of the 16S rRNA gene fragments was used to investigate the bacterial community of an Alla hot spring microbial mat. The mat community was mainly represented by the members of five phyla: Deinococcus-Thermus, Nitrospirae, Atribacteria (OP9), Proteobacteria, Chloroflexi, and Firmicutes, with other groups responsible for not more than 2% of the total number. From hot springs of the Baikal Rift Zone (Buryatia, Russia), 13 strains of aerobic alkaliphilic thermophilic organotrophic bacteria were isolated, and their morphology, ecology, physiology, and phylogenetic position were studied. Based on analysis of their 16S rRNA gene sequences, the isolates were identified as members of the family Bacillaceae. Strains Al-9-1, Se-1, Ga-1-1, Ga-9-2, and Se-1-10 were assigned to the genus Anoxybacillus; strains Ur-6, Br-2-2, А2, and Um-09m, to the genus Bacillus; strains Gor-10s and Gа-35, to the genus Paenabacillus. Secreted endopeptidases of the isolates were shown to have relatively narrow substrate specificity. The investigated enzymes were characterized by high pH (6.3–11.4) and temperature stability (23–70°C), which makes it possible to carry out organic matter degradation in the environment under variable ecological conditions.  相似文献

To identify potential linkages between specific bacterial populations and process performance in anaerobic digestion, the dynamics of bacterial community structure was monitored with high-throughput sequencing in triplicate anaerobic digesters treating animal waste. Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes were found as the two most abundant populations, however, with contrasting population dynamics in response to organic overloading. Firmicutes dominated the bacterial community during stable process performance at low organic loading rate, representing over 50 % of the bacterial abundance. In contrast, the onset of organic overloading raised the relative abundance of Bacteroidetes from 20 ± 2.6 to 44 ± 3.1 %. In addition to the significant negative correlation between the relative abundance of Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes, populations of Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes were found to be linked to process parameters including organic loading rate, volatile fatty acids concentration, and methane production. Therefore, the population abundance ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes (F/B ratio) was suggested as a potential indicator for process performance. The interactions between Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes populations could be exploited to develop strategies for the prevention of performance perturbation in anaerobic digestion processes.  相似文献

Bacterial species of Bacillus, Lactobacillus, and Bifidobacterium in the intestinal tract have been used as probiotics. Selections for probiotic candidates by the culture-based approaches are time-consuming and labor-consuming. The aim of this study was to develop a new method based on sequencing strategies to select the probiotic Bacillus, Lactobacillus, and Bifidobacterium. The Illumina-based sequencing strategies with different specific primers for Bacillus, Clostridium, and Bifidobacterium were applied to analyze diversity of the genera in goat feces. The average number of different Bacillus, Clostridium, and Bifidobacterium OTUs (operational taxonomic units) at the 97% similarity level ranged from 1922 to 63172. The coverage index values of Bacillus, Clostridium, and Bifidobacterium calculated from the bacterial OTUs were 0.89, 0.99, and 1.00, respectively. The most genera of Bacillus (37.9%), Clostridium (53%), and Bifidobacterium (99%) were detected in goat feces by the Illumina-based sequencing with the specific primers of the genera, respectively. Higher phylogenetic resolutions of the genera in goat feces were successfully established. The results suggest that the selection for probiotic Bacillus, Clostridium, and Bifidobacterium based on the Illumina sequencing with their specific primers is reliable and feasible, and the core Bacillus, Clostridium, and Bifidobacterium species of healthy goats possess the potentials as probiotic microbial consortia.  相似文献

In this study, we investigated chitin hydrolysis by the bacteria inhabiting the ground of the Barents Sea. Four microbial cultures isolated from the ground were described as the genera of Rhodococcus sp., Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp., and Acinetobacter sp. Protein complexes with endochitinase and exochitinase activities were purified from the culture liquid. These microorganisms can participate in chitin degradation in sea water. The average molecular weight of the protein fraction with the chitinolytic activity constituted 92–135 kDa. The ratio of the endo-/exochitinase activities of the enzymatic systems was increased in the order Pseudomonas sp. < Bacillus sp. < Acinetobacter sp. < Rhodococcus sp.  相似文献

Dodonaea viscosa, a wild and perennial shrub that can tolerate harsh environmental conditions, was used for the isolation of its endophytic bacteria and their potential was explored for the promotion of Canola growth. The bacteria identified through 16S rRNA gene sequencing, belonged to ten different genera namely Inquilinus, Xanthomonas, Pseudomonas, Rhizobium, Brevundimonas, Microbacterium, Bacillus, Streptomyces, Agrococcus and Stenotrophomonas. All the strains produced small amount of IAA (indole acetic acid) in the absence of tryptophan and comparatively more in the presence of tryptophan. All the bacterial strains were positive for ammonia production, cellulase and pectinase activity, but few of them showed phosphate solubilization, siderophore and hydrogen cyanide production. Only three strains showed ACC (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate) deaminase activity when tested using in-vitro enzyme assay. Members of genera Bacillus, Pseudomonas and Streptomyces showed positive chitinase, protease and antifungal activity against two phytopathogenic fungi Aspergillus niger and Fusarium oxysoprum, while members of Xanthomonas, Pseudomonas and Bacillus showed significant root elongation of Canola which could be related with their positive plant-growth-promoting (PGP) traits. Among the three plant growth promoting Bacillus strains, B. idriensis is never reported before for its PGP activities. These results showed the potential of Dodonaea viscosa endophytic bacteria as PGPBs, which in future can be further explored for their host range/molecular mechanisms.  相似文献

Bacterial communities in anode microbial fuel cells (MFC) obtained from anaerobic digester sludge in a municipal wastewater treatment plant (Nanjing, China) were investigated. Glucose, propyl alcohol and methanol were used as sole carbon source in two-chamber MFC. The results showed that a reproducible cycle of power production can be formed in MFC fed with 3 substrates and glucose-fed MFC had the highest peak power density of 1499 ± 33 mW/m3, followed by methanol- (1264 ± 47 mW/m3) and propyl alcohol-fed MFC (1192 ± 36 mW/m3). Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Verrucomicrobia, Proteobacteria, Synergistetes and Armatimonadetes were dominant phyla in 3 MFC. Firmicutes was the most dominant phylum in glucose-fed MFC samples and Bacteroidetes prevailed in methanol- and propyl alcohol-fed MFC. These data indicate that propyl alcohol and methanol along with glucose can be used as substrates of MFC.  相似文献

Waterlogging stress disturbs plant metabolism through increased ion (manganese and iron) toxicity resulting from the changes in the soil redox potential under hypoxic conditions. Our previous study found a significant correlation between the tolerance to Mn2+ toxicity and waterlogging stress tolerance in barley, suggesting that waterlogging tolerance could be increased by improving the tolerance to Mn2+ toxicity. In this study, a doubled-haploid (DH) population from the cross between barley varieties Yerong and Franklin (waterlogging-tolerant and -sensitive, respectively) was used to identify QTL controlling tolerance to Mn2+ toxicity based on chlorophyll content and plant survival as selection criteria. Four significant QTL for plant survival under Mn2+ stress (QSur.yf.1H, QSur.yf.3H, QSur.yf.4H, and QSur.yf.6H) were identified in this population at the seedling stage. Two significant QTL (QLC.yf.3H and QLC.yf.6H) controlling leaf chlorosis under Mn2+ stress were identified on chromosomes 3H and 6H close to QSur.yf.3H and QSur.yf.6H. The major QTL QSur.yf.3H, located near the marker Bmag0013, explained 21% of the phenotypic variation. The major QTL for plant survival on 3H was validated in a different DH population (TX9425/Naso Nijo). This major QTL could potentially be used in breeding programmes to enhance tolerance to both manganese toxicity and waterlogging.  相似文献

One hundred and four strains of heterotrophic bacteria have been isolated and characterized from two species of bivalve mollusks cultivated in the Gulf of Nha Trang (Vietnam) and from the water of a mariculture farm. The isolates have been identified on the basis of morphological, physiological, biochemical, and chemotaxonomic properties, as well as by the content of G+C bases in DNA. In the microflora of mollusks, Vibrio alginolyticus was predominant; the pathogenic species V. harveyi and V. splendidus were found as well. Staphylococci and bacilli occupied the second place in abundance after vibrios. In addition, coryneforms and enterobacteria, as well as Pseudomonas spp. and Pseudoalteromonas spp., were revealed. The composition of the water microflora was more diverse as compared with the microflora of mollusks. In the water, Bacillus spp., Vibrio spp., and Pseudomonas spp. were predominant. Brevibacterium spp. and other coryneform bacteria, as well as enterobacteria, occurred in significant amounts. In addition, Pseudoalteromonas spp., Marinococcus sp., Halobacillus sp., Shewanella sp., Sulfitobacter sp., and bacteria of the CFB cluster were noticed. The presence of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic bacterial species in the water and mollusks is probably the reason for the high death rate of cultivated animals at the mariculture farm.  相似文献
