Verbesina barrancae, a new species of Compositae (Heliantheae) from Jalisco, México, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically similar toVerbesina crocata but differs in characteristics of inflorescence, anthers, and achenes as well as in form of pollen, size and number of spinules, size of colpus transversalis, and index of polar area.  相似文献

Polymnia mcvaughii from Jalisco, Mexico, is described as new. This herbaceous species appears to belong in the mainstream of evolution within the genus. It exhibits marked affinities to several species, but most closely resemblesP. oaxacana Schultz-Bip. Illustrations of important features are included, along with a list of key characteristics.  相似文献

Verbesina lanulosa is described as a new species from the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. This species is compared with V. chihuahuensis and V. suberosa, and mainly differs by its leaf shape, petiole form, and pubescence of the stems, leaves, and inflorescences. An illustration is included.  相似文献

Oparanthus with two species from the Tubuai Islands of the South Pacific Ocean and the monotypicPetrobium from St. Helena in the South Atlantic are judged to belong more properly withinBidens. Comparisons of diagnostic morphological features are provided, and the necessary combinations are made, includingBidens rapensis (F. Brown) Stuessy andB. tubuaiensis (F. Brown) Stuessy.  相似文献

The genusSabazia is expanded to include the genusTricarpha, Calea palmeri, and several newly described taxa,S. tridacoides var.tridacoides and var.latifolia, S. palmeri var.lancifolia, andS. longiradiata. Comparative studies of several morphological features suggest thatSabazia is most clearly related toSelloa andGalinsoga. Karyological data reinforce this observation: inSelloa andGalinsoga x = 8 whereas inSabazia x = 4 andn = 4, 8, 16, or 24. Several species ofCalea are very similar toSabazia in floral features and may be of close phyletic affinity, but most species ofCalea differ conspicuously, suggesting more remote relationships. Other taxa in the Galinsoginae apparently fairly closely allied toSabazia includeOteiza andTridax.

Stuessya, a new genus from the Pacific slopes of southcentral Mexico is described. It is comprised of three species:S. apiculata, previously assigned to the genusViguiera;S. perennans, the generotype; andS. michoacana. The latter two taxa are previously undescribed. The genus is characterized by its urceolate, sclerified (at maturity) involucre. Chromosome counts of2n = 34 are reported forS. perennans. Relationships are problematical, but are reckoned to be somewhere betweenAldama andViguiera.  相似文献

Trichodesma mudgalii (Boraginaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Madhya Pradesh (Betul district), India. The species is closely allied to T. indicum var. indicum and T. stocksii but differs from the former in having epidermis (on stem) peeling off in flakes with age, leaves crowded, 2–6 mm broad, strongly revolute and covered on abaxial surface with simple, short, thin hairs intermixed with long, bulbous-based hairs and from the latter in having apices of connectives strongly spirally twisted, ovoid nutlets and emarginate.  相似文献

Echiniscus corrugicaudatus sp. nov., (Heterotardigrada; Echiniscidae) was found in the limited vegetation from the inland nunataks of Ellsworth Land, West Antarctica. The tardigrade fauna of this a rarely explored region shows limited overlap with the fauna from the maritime or coastal continental Antarctic. This species is placed within the Echiniscusarctomys-group” based on the characteristic of, “a lack of body appendages other than cirrus A”. It has less well-defined edges to the dorsal plates than other species within the group and distinct ridges on the caudal plate. Males were found in the population indicating gonochoristic reproduction, and a large number of juveniles suggesting an over-wintering strategy of eggs or a biennial population over-wintering as adults/sub-adults and eggs.  相似文献

In addition to known compounds, the floral parts of Viguiera radula afforded two new sesquiterpene lactones. All compounds were detected in glandular trichomes, which were micromechanically collected from the anther appendages and analyzed by HPLC. Structure identification was performed by NMR and MS techniques.  相似文献

Asaemia is a genus of one species with two subspecies from southern Africa. The nomenclature and systematic position of Asaemia and the related Stilpnophyton are discussed. Both genera are related to Athanasia. Asaemia minula (L. f.) Bremer and A. minuta ssp. inermis (Phillips) Bremer are new combinations. Stilpnophyton is typified by S. longifolium (Tfiunb.) Less.  相似文献
