采用二倍体胚和三倍体胚乳种子遗传模型及其分析方法,以5个玉米自交系及其配制的F1,F2,BC1,BC2世代为材料,研究5个玉米种子性状的胚直接效应、胚乳直接效应、母体效应和细胞质效应。分析结果表明,除粒宽外,各性状的遗传同时由细胞质效应和胚、胚乳、母体基因效应所控制,百粒重主要受胚乳和母体效应的影响,粒长的遗传以母体效应为主,粒宽和粒厚以胚乳效应为主。各部位籽粒百粒重的胚乳直接加性效应与母体加性效应的协方差达到显著或极显著水平,其余性状的胚、胚乳直接效应与母体效应间的协方差均不显著,通过母体植株的遗传表现可以对这些性状进行有效的选择。S22 是改良百粒重的优良亲本。 Abstract:The embryo,endosperm and cytoplasm effects of seven seed traits were studied by genetic model for diploid embryo and triploid endosperm plant seeds using five inbreds and their F1, F2, BC1 and BC2 generations. The estimates of genetic variance components indicated that the inheritance of all other kernel traits was controlled by the four effects except kernel width. The 100?kernel weight was mainly controlled by endosperm and maternal effects , and kernel length was controlled by the maternal effects,while endosperm conrrolled kernel width and kernel thickness. Except the significant or highly significant covariances between the endosperm direct additive and maternal additive effects for 100-kernel weight,all other traits between the embryo or endosperm direct effect and the maternal were not significant. So,maize inbreds could be developed by direct selection based on maternal plants for these traits. S22 was the best inbred of the improvement for kernel weight in this study.  相似文献

Climbing common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes have among the highest yield potential of all accessions found in the species. Genetic improvement of climbing beans would benefit from an understanding of the inheritance of climbing capacity (made up of plant height [PH] and internode length [IL] traits). The objective of this study was to determine the inheritance of climbing capacity traits in 3 crosses made within and between gene pools (Andean x Andean [BRB32 x MAC47], Mesoamerican x Mesoamerican [Tío Canela x G2333], and Mesoamerican x Andean [G2333 x G19839]) using generation means analysis. For each population, we used 6 generations (P(1), P(2), F(1), F(2), BC(1)P(1), and BC(1)P(2)) that were evaluated at 2 growth stages (40 and 70 days after planting). Results showed the importance of additive compared with the dominant-additive portion of the genetic model. Broad-sense heritabilities for the traits varied from 62.3% to 85.6% for PH and from 66.5% to 83.7% for IL. The generation means analysis and estimates of heritability suggested that the inheritance of PH and IL in climbing beans is relatively simple.  相似文献

Sesamia nonagrioides Lefebvre is a major insect pest of maize (Zea mays L.) in northwestern Spain. The inheritance of ear resistance in field corn to this pest has not been studied. This work aims to determine the importance of genetic (additive, dominance, and epistatic effects) and environmental effects in the inheritance of ear resistance to S. nonagrioides. Three field corn inbreds (CM109, EP31, and EP42) were used as parents and two crosses (CM109 x EP31 and CM109 x EP42) were made. These inbreds show different ear resistance levels to S. nonagrioides, with CM109 more resistant than EP31 and EP42. For each cross, parents (P1, P2), F1, F2, and backcrosses to each parent (BC1 and BC2) were evaluated. Correlations among ear damage traits showed that general appearance of the ear should be useful indicator of ear resistance. Ear resistance was dominant to susceptibility and was transmitted from inbreds to their hybrids. The additive-dominance model fit the generation mean analysis for both crosses and the degree of genetic control varied depending on the cross and trait. For both crosses, additive and dominance effects were significant for most ear damage traits. Epistatic gene effects were significant for husk and shank damage, and gene effects for number and length of tunnels were not significant. Because ear resistance involved additive and dominance effects for this set of inbreds, breeding procedures based on both types of gene action should be effective.  相似文献

Maize (Zea mays L.) breeders have used several genetic-statistical models to study the inheritance of quantitative traits. These models provide information on the importance of additive, dominance, and epistatic genetic variance for a quantitative trait. Estimates of genetic variances are useful in understanding heterosis and determining the response to selection. The objectives of this study were to estimate additive and dominance genetic variances and the average level of dominance for an F2 population derived from the B73 x Mo17 hybrid and use weighted least squares to determine the importance of digenic epistatic variances relative to additive and dominance variances. Genetic variances were estimated using Design III and weighted least squares analyses. Both analyses determined that dominance variance was more important than additive variance for grain yield. For other traits, additive genetic variance was more important than dominance variance. The average level of dominance suggests either overdominant gene effects were present for grain yield or pseudo-overdominance because of linkage disequilibrium in the F2 population. Epistatic variances generally were not significantly different from zero and therefore were relatively less important than additive and dominance variances. For several traits estimates of additive by additive epistatic variance decreased estimates of additive genetic variance, but generally the decrease in additive genetic variance was not significant.  相似文献

Summary The nature of gene action and of maternal influence governing cottonseed oil attributes were determined with four lines, two each with high and low seed-oil percentage. For this purpose, P1, P2, F0, F1, F2 and alternative sets of BC1 and BC2 generations were analysed in six cross-combinations and their reciprocals. Marginal extents of heterosis for seed-oil percentage were noticeable in F1, with inbreeding depression in F2. Data from reciprocal backcrosses provided evidence in favour of maternal rather than cytoplasmic effects of seed-oil development. Relatively higher extents of heterosis, sizeable inbreeding depression and reciprocally unequal F2 averages were characteristic of the seed index trait, which often showed a reversal of effects from F1 to F2. Reverse reciprocal backcrosses exhibited some differences, including greater resemblance between the types, (A/B)A and (B/A)A, in addition to variable dose effects in seed index. Thus, the differences between F1 seed index values were not due to cytoplasmic influence. Positive heterotic effects for seed-oil index, especially among the backcrosses, ranged between 16.08% and 47.29% over midparent averages. Genetic component estimates from analysis of similar sets of crosses differing only in reciprocal backcrosses, and also from sets of reciprocal crosses between any two parental combinations, were inconsistent. Scaling tests detected presence of epistasis within and between a majority of cross-combinations. Despite reciprocal differences, additive gene effects for seed-oil percentage were significant in 7 out of 24 crosses, representing high x low, low x high and low x low seed-oil parents. Those were, however, accompanied by significant dominance effects of higher order. In crosses involving low seed-oil percentage parents SA1060 and SA229, all six components were detected significant, with opposite effects of dominance and dominance x dominance epistatic components. Significant additive components were also detected for seed index and seed-oil index in 7 and 5 out of 24 crosses, respectively. In the inheritance of seed index and seed-oil index, dominance effects were more important. Epistatic components of additive x additive, and to a lesser extent, those of dominant x dominant were found significant.  相似文献

以人工合成甘蓝型油菜特长角品系H218普通甘蓝型油菜中油821和MSP334为材料, 配制成两个杂交组合的各6个世代群体, 即P1、P2、F1、F2、B1、B2, 研究了全果长、果身长、果喙长3个角果性状的遗传特点。结果表明, 两个组合的全果长、果身长、果喙长在F2群体中近乎呈现连续正态分布, 显示为多基因控制的数量性状。两个组合的全果长广义遗传力为65.89%~70.77%、狭义遗传力为44.01%~46.78%, 基因数目均为5对; 果身长广义遗传力为60.14% ~ 63.38%、狭义遗传力为46.89%~47.38%, 基因数目均为6对; 果喙长广义遗传力为26.36% ~ 46.44%, 狭义遗传力为18.08%~37.87%, 基因数目均为2对。基因效应初步分析表明, 两个组合的3个性状基因效应均符合加性-显性二基因互作模型, 存在显著的上位性效应。两个组合的全果长、果身长、果喙长加性效应、显性效应都很重要, 全果长、果身长的加性效应大于显性效应, 果喙长显性效应大于加性效应。  相似文献

Morphological consequences of hybridization were studied in a group of three interbreeding species of Darwin's finches on the small Galápagos island of Daphne Major in the inclusive years 1976 to 1992. Geospiza fortis bred with G. scandens and G. fuliginosa. Although interbreeding was always rare (< 5%), sufficient samples of measurements of hybrids and backcrosses were accumulated for analysis. Five beak and body dimensions and mass were measured, and from these two synthetic (principal-component) traits were constructed. All traits were heritable in two of the interbreeding species (G. fuliginosa were too rare to be analyzed) and in the combined samples of F, hybrids and backcrosses to G. fortis. In agreement with expectations from a model of polygenic inheritance, hybrid and backcross classes were generally phenotypically intermediate between the breeding groups that had produced them. Hybridization increased additive genetic and environmental variances, increased heritabilities to a moderate extent, and generally strengthened phenotypic and genetic correlations. New additive genetic variance introduced by hybridization is estimated to be two to three orders of magnitude greater than that introduced by mutation. Enhanced variation facilitates directional evolutionary change, subject to constraints arising from genetic correlations between characters. The Darwin's finch data suggest that these constraints become stronger when species with similar proportions hybridize, but some become weaker when the interbreeding species have different allometries. This latter effect of hybridization, together with an enhancement of genetic variation, facilitates evolutionary change in a new direction.  相似文献

通过配制4个隐性无腺体品系(gl2gl2gl3gl3)作母本与5个显性无腺体品系(GL2^eGl2^3eGl3Gl3)杂交产生的20个组合的F2、F3,利用二倍体种子遗传模型,研究了棉花种子的含油量、蛋白质含量、油分指数、蛋白质指数等5个种子性状的遗传变异。结果表明所有研究的性状主要由加性遗传效应所控制,其中含油量主要由母体加性遗传效应所控。按群体平均数计算。这些性状F2的中亲优势仅为-1.99%-1.11%,这揭示出F2、F3近交衰退很少。有75%的F2和60%的F3天然授粉异交组合棉酚含量低于0.4g/kg,因此有可能筛选出棉酚含量低于规定标准、而种子品质不降低、可综合利用的F2高产杂交种。  相似文献

采用二倍体种子遗传模型及其分析方法,研究了5个玉米籽粒性状的直接效应、母体效应和细胞质效应.分析结果表明,各性状的遗传同时受种子直接效应和母体效应的影响,细胞质基因对百粒重和粒宽具有极显著影响.除粒长、粒厚的直接显性效应与母体显性效应间的协方差外,直接效应与母体效应间的协方差均不显著.因此,通过母体植株的表现可对这些性状进行有效的选择.S_22和 87-1是改良粒重的优良亲本.选择粒较宽的自交系作母本有利于提高后代选系及F_1的百粒重.  相似文献

Parental, F(1) , F (2) , BC (1) and BC (2) generations of four crosses involving four cultivars of durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) were evaluated at two sites in Tunisia. A three-parameter model was found inadequate for all cases except crosses Chili x Cocorit 71 at site Sidi Thabet and Inrat 69 x Karim at both sites. In most cases a digenic epistatic model was sufficient to explain variation in generation means. Dominance effects (h) and additive x additive epistasis (i) (when significant) were more important than additive (d) effects and other epistatic components. Considering the genotype-by-environment interaction, the non-interactive model (m, d, h, e) was found adequate. Additive variance was higher than environmental variance in three crosses at both sites. The estimated values of narrow-sense heritability were dependent upon the cross and the sites and were 0%-85%. The results indicate that appropriate choice of environment and selection in later generations would increase grain protein content in durum wheat.  相似文献

Male fertility of interspecific hybrids was analysed in one F1 and two backcrossed progenies originating from a cross between Coffea canephora and Coffea heterocalyx. Male fertility was tested using pollen stainability with acetic carmine. The results showed a marked decline in fertility at the F1 level, and fertility was almost fully restored after two backcrosses. The computed broad-sense heritability represented 47% of the variance. Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) locations and effects on pollen viability were estimated using an amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) genetic linkage map constructed in the segregating BC1 population. Three significant QTLs (LOD>3 and p < 0.001 by ANOVA) were detected for pollen viability, two of which were responsible for the bimodal distribution of pollen viability in the segregating population. One QTL was involved in fertility variations among fertile BC1 plants. Fertility inheritance is discussed in relation with previously demonstrated chromosomal sterility in Coffea hybrids and the effect of detected QTLs. The potential use of genetic markers to overcome sterility in interspecific hybrids is also discussed.  相似文献

This study explored the genetic basis of phenotypic differences between two sympatric species of ecologically and morphologically divergent sticklebacks (Gasterosteus aculeatus complex). The aim was to understand how many loci determine the differences and to what extent the differences are due to additive or nonadditive gene action. I reared the two parental species, F1 and F2 hybrids, and both backcrosses in the laboratory and measured the following quantitative characters: gill raker number and length (both involved in feeding), lateral plate number and pelvic spine length (both involved in predator defense), and growth (a fitness component). I then applied joint-scaling regression models to estimate composite additive, dominance and epistatic effects, and their contribution to divergence of parental lines. A simple additive model was sufficient for gill raker number and growth; additive and dominance effects contributed significantly to divergence in plate number and pelvic spine length; and additive, dominance, and epistatic effects contributed significantly to divergence in gill raker length. Wright's estimator for the number of loci for the four morphological characters ranged from 1 to 50. My results suggest that adaptive divergence between limnetic and benthic sticklebacks has taken place through a variety of genetic mechanisms specific to different traits. Though interspecific hybrids are completely fertile and viable in the laboratory, they are selected against in the wild. The pattern of inheritance for the traits examined here directly influences how well hybrids can exploit the two major resource environments in the wild.  相似文献

Laboratory selection with Cry1Ab, the predominant Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) toxin in transgenic corn, Zea mays L., produced >1000-fold resistance in two laboratory strains of European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner). We tested the offspring of various crosses to determine the mode of inheritance of resistance to Cry1Ab. Patterns of inheritance of resistance were similar in the two resistant strains. The progeny of reciprocal F1 crosses (resistant male x susceptible female and vice versa) responded alike in bioassays, indicating autosomal inheritance. The median lethal concentrations (LC50 values) of F1 were intermediate between the resistant and susceptible parents, indicating approximately additive inheritance. However, the dominance of resistance increased as the concentration of Cry1Ab decreased. Analysis of progeny from backcrosses (F1 x susceptible strain) suggests that resistance was controlled by more than one locus. In particular, the fit of observed to expected mortality improved as the number of putative loci increased from 1 to 10. The polygenic nature of resistance in these two laboratory strains suggests that major genes for resistance to Cry1Ab were not common in the founding populations of O. nubilalis. A low initial frequency of major genes for Cry1Ab resistance might be an important factor in delaying evolution of resistance to Bt corn in this pest.  相似文献

We investigated the genetic architecture underlying differentiation in fitness-related traits between two pairs of populations of the seed beetle Callosobruchus maculatus (Coleoptera: Bruchidae). These populations had geographically distant (> 2000 km) origins but evolved in a uniform laboratory environment for 120 generations. For each pair of populations (Nigeria x Yemen and Cameroon x Uganda) we estimated the means of five fitness-related characters and a measure of fitness (net reproductive rate R0) in each of the parental populations and 12 types of hybrids (two F1 and two F2 lines and eight backcrosses). Models containing up to nine composite genetic parameters were fitted to the means of the 14 lines. The patterns of line means for all traits in the Nigeria x Yemen cross and for four traits (larval survival, developmental rate, female body weight, and fecundity) in the Cameroon x Uganda cross were best explained by models including additive, dominance, and maternal effects, but excluding epistasis. We did not find any evidence for outbreeding depression for any trait. An epistatic component of divergence was detected for egg hatching success and R0 in the Cameroon x Uganda cross, but its sign was opposite to that expected under outbreeding depression, that is, additive x additive epistasis had a positive effect on the performance of F2 hybrids. All traits except fecundity showed a pattern of heterosis. A large difference of egg-hatching success between the two reciprocal F1 lines in that cross was best explained as fertilization incompatibility between Cameroon females and sperm carrying Uganda genes. The results suggest that these populations have not converged to the same life-history phenotype and genetic architecture, despite 120 generations of uniform natural selection. However, the absence of outbreeding depression implies that they did not evolve toward different adaptive peaks.  相似文献

The Australian diploid Gossypium species possess traits of potential agronomical value, such as gossypol-free seeds and Fusarium wilt resistance. However, they belong to the tertiary germplasm pool, which is the most difficult group of species from which to introgress genes into G. barbadense L. and G. hirsutum L. Interspecific triploid hybrids can be generated but they are sterile. The sterility barrier can be overcome using synthetic polyploids as introgression bridges, but whether there is sufficient homoeologous chromosome interaction at meiosis to allow recombination is still an open question. To ascertain, genetically, observable levels of homoeologous introgression, 2 synthetic hexaploid lines (2x G. hirsutum x G. australe and 2x G. hirsutum x G. sturtianum) were crossed to G. hirsutum to generate pentaploid F1 plants that, in turn, were backcrossed to G. hirsutum to generate BC1 and BC2 multiple alien chromosome addition lines (MACALs). Gossypium australe F. Muell. and G. sturtianum Willis chromosome-specific markers were used to track the frequency and fidelity of chromosome transmission to the BC1 and BC2 MACALs. The chromosomal location of the AFLP markers was determined by their distribution among the MACALs and confirmed in parental F2 families. Roughly half the available chromosomes were transmitted to the G. hirsutum x G. australe (54%) and G. hirsutum x G. sturtianum (52%) BC1 MACALs. The BC2 MACAL families again inherited about half of the available chromosomes. There were, however, notable exceptions for specific chromosomes. Some chromosomes were preferentially eliminated, while others were preferentially transmitted. Consistent with the genomic stability of Gossypium synthetic polyploids, the de novo loss or gain of AFLP fragments was rarely observed. While restructuring of the donor G. australe and G. sturtianum chromosomes was observed, this is more likely the result of chromatin loss, and no clear cases of introgression of donor chromatin into the recipient G. hirsutum genome were observed.  相似文献

用10个遗传上和籽粒形态性状上具有差异的玉米自交系,依多种可能的交配方法获得亲本P1、P2、F1(P1× P2)、F2、B1(F1×P1)、B2(F1× P2)及其相应反交RF1、RF2、RB1、RB2共10个种子世代。种植2年。依广义遗传模型建立包括种子胚乳加性、胚乳显性、母体加性、母体显性和细胞质效应的遗传模型,运用种子数量性状的精细鉴别法[1]和混合模型分析法[2,3],对粒长、粒宽、粒长宽比、粒厚及百粒重作了性状表达遗传机制的鉴别与探讨。单个组合的遗传模型精细测验表明,5个籽粒性状的遗传主要受母体显性和胚乳基因型(包括加性和灵性)的控制,一个组合的粒宽、粒厚和百粒重上还检测到细胞质效应。对25对 F1正反交组合世代均值依MINQUE法分析的结果表明,5个籽粒性状的遗传方差中,母体遗传方差占60%以上,胚乳基因型方差低于40%,粒长和百粒重还有细胞质效应,约占10%~30%。可见,籽粒性状的遗传特点是受多套遗传系统控制,其中以母体基因型的作用最大。  相似文献

The mode of seed color inheritance in Capsicum was studied via an interspecific hybridization between C. pubescens Ruiz and Pav. (black seed color) and C. eximium Hunz. (yellow seed color). Black seed color was dominant over yellow seed color. The F(2) segregation pattern showed continuous variation. The generation means analysis indicated the presence of a significant effect of additive [d], dominance [h], and additive x additive [i] interaction for seed color inheritance. The estimate for a minimum number of effective factors (genes) involved in seed color inheritance was approximately 3.  相似文献

Kernel size is an important component of grain yield in maize breeding programs. To extend the understanding on the genetic basis of kernel size traits (i.e., kernel length, kernel width and kernel thickness), we developed a set of four-way cross mapping population derived from four maize inbred lines with varied kernel sizes. In the present study, we investigated the genetic basis of natural variation in seed size and other components of maize yield (e.g., hundred kernel weight, number of rows per ear, number of kernels per row). In total, ten QTL affecting kernel size were identified, three of which (two for kernel length and one for kernel width) had stable expression in other components of maize yield. The possible genetic mechanism behind the trade-off of kernel size and yield components was discussed.  相似文献

Sesamia nonagrioides (Lefebvre) and Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner) are the main maize (Zea mays L.) pests in Mediterranean countries. To develop insect-resistant cultivars, it is helpful to know the genetic control of the resistance. Our objective was to determine the genetic control of the resistance to both borers. For each of two crosses (EP59 x P51 and 15125 x EP61), six generations were evaluated (P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1, and BC2). Genetic effects x environment interactions were not significant. For the O. nubilalis resistance traits; both crosses fitted an additive-dominance model. EP59 x P51 had important dominance and additive effects, whereas for 15125 x EP61 we did not detect significant genetic effects, but significant year effects were detected. For S. nonagrioides infestation, both crosses fitted to an additive-dominance model. There were additive effects for most traits in EP59 x P51. The cross I5125 x EP61 showed significant dominance effects for several traits. Resistance to both corn borers fit an additive-dominance model, but genetic effects depend on the cross evaluated. In the resistance to S. nonagrioides, additive effects were important for shank resistance, which is a useful trait for avoiding S. nonagrioides damage on the ear. Early sowings are recommended to make good use of the resistance to both corn borers. In the late sowings, damage is so high that resistant plants are not able to control the pest.  相似文献

A general model of the functional constraints on the rate and direction of phenotypic evolution is developed using a decomposition of the Lande-Arnold model of multivariate phenotypic evolution. The important feature of the model is the F matrix of performance coefficients reflecting the causal relationship between morphophysiological (m-p) and functional performance traits. The structure of F, which reflects the functional architecture of the organism, constrains the shape of the adaptive landscape and thus the rate and direction of m-p trait evolution. The rate of m-p trait evolution is a function of the pattern of coefficients in a row of F. The sums and variances of these rows are related to current concepts of evolvability. The direction of m-p trait evolution through m-p trait space is a function of the functional covariances among m-p traits. The functional covariance between a pair of m-p traits is a measure of how much the traits function together and is computed as the covariance between rows of F. Finally, it is shown that genetic covariances between m-p traits and performance traits are a function of the F matrix, but a G matrix that includes these covariances cannot be used to model functional constraints effectively.  相似文献
