The oil rose, Rosa damascena Mill. (Rosaceae) is an agricultural crop cultivated in various countries of the northern hemisphere, such as Turkey, Bulgaria, Morocco, Iran, Egypt, France, China and India. Iran, presently, is the largest producer of rose water in world. The major production areas in Iran are Kashan, Fars, Kerman and Azerbaijan. Kerman province with 2297 hectares ha of rose gardens and 6198 tons of flower production is one of the important rose production regions. The productions of this region are organic and do not use anychemical compounds such as pesticides and fertilisers. The major fungal pathogens were studied during 2008–2010 in oil rose production areas in Kerman province, Iran. Verticillium dahlias, Rosellinia necatrix, Alternaria alternata, Seimatosporium fusisporum and Podosphaera pannosa have been detected in the oil rose from different regions in Kerman province. A. alternata has the most isolates and infected plants per cent in the oil rose. This is the first report fromVerticillium dahliae, R. necatrix, A. alternata, S. fusisporum on oil roses (R.damascena) in the world.  相似文献

Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) is the most important economic crop in Kerman province. The palm date leafhopper (Ommatissus lybicus) is one of the most important and key pests that causes high level damage to date crop. Date is an organic fruit in this area, and biological control has been introduced as the best long-term strategy in this region. To investigate appropriate biological control agents in Kerman province during 2005–2007, 178 isolates were collected from naturally infected O. lybicus for the first time recorded in the world, and Beauveria bassiana was introduced as a suitable biological control agent for control of this pest.  相似文献

Recently published observations on damage to cultivated Rosa damascena in Iran were ascribed to the stem sawfly Hartigia trimaculata. Reasons are given for rejecting this identification. The insect involved was probably the stem sawfly Syrista parreyssii. No evidence exists for the presence of the North American H. trimaculata in the Old World.  相似文献

The whiteflies Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) and Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) are major crop pests throughout the world. Although extensive research about biological control of whitefly by parasitoids and predators has been conducted, also entomopathogenic fungi can be considered as potential biological control agents. Surveys for entomopathogenic fungi were carried out in organic and conventional horticultural crops in greenhouses and open fields in Buenos Aires and Corrientes provinces, Argentina. These surveys resulted in the recovery and isolation of the following fungi from whiteflies: Lecanicillium lecanii (Zimmerm.) Zare & W. Gams, L. muscarium (Petch) Zare & W. Gams, L. longisporum (Petch) Zare & W. Gams, Isaria fumosorosea Wize and I. javanica (Frieder. & Bally) Samson & Hywel-Jones. Pathogenicity tests were conducted against T. vaporariorum nymphs using a conidial suspension (1 × 107 conidia/ml) of the fungi. A mortality rate between 26.6% and 76.6% was obtained at 7 days post-infection. These are the first records of natural infections in the southernmost region of the South American continent of L. lecanii, L. muscarium, L. longisporum and Isaria javanica (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) on T. vaporariorum and also the first report of I. fumosorosea on B. tabaci.  相似文献

Dubas bug, Ommatissus lybicus is one of the major sucking pests of date palm. Data palm is the most important economic crop in Iran. In this research, we isolated the pathogenic strain KB 201, KB 206, KB 211, KB 215, KB 220 and KB 512, of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana from soil and insects, which produced aerial and submerged conidia and blastospores in the laboratory conditions. We investigated the best conditions for the production and utilisation of the spore suspension to spray the nymph of O. lybicus, which is one of the important pests in Kerman province (Iran). A total of 180 isolates that naturally infected by O. lybicus were collected from date palm in Kerman province during spring and summer seasons 2010–2011. The pathogen city test was carried out with direct spray. To bioassay the isolates, three concentrations of the spore suspension were prepared as follows: 1?×?106, 1?×?107 and 1?×?108?conidia/ml. The pests were sprayed by aerial conidial suspension, which was prepared by 0.01% Tween 80 in distilled water, and the controls were sprayed by 0.01% Tween 80in distilled water. After spraying the pests, the plates were incubated at 25?±?1?°C and 80% of relative humidity. Then, the treated pests were monitored every day for the fungal growth and mortality.  相似文献

The compatibility of the entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium muscarium and chemical insecticides used to control the second instar stages of the sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, was investigated. The effect on spore germination of direct exposure for 24 h to the insecticides imidacloprid, buprofezin, teflubenzuron and nicotine was determined. Only exposure to buprofezin was followed by acceptable spore germination. However, all chemicals significantly reduced spore germination when compared to a water control. Infectivity of L. muscarium in the presence of dry residues of buprofezin, teflubenzuron and nicotine (imidacloprid is a systemic pesticide) on foliage were also investigated. No significant detrimental effects on the level of control of B. tabaci was recorded when compared with fungi applied to residue free foliage on either tomato or verbena plants. Fungi in combination with imidacloprid gave higher B. tabaci mortality on verbena foliage compared to either teflubenzuron or nicotine and fungi combinations. Use of these chemical insecticides with L. muscarium in integrated control programmes for B. tabaci is discussed.  相似文献

The potential for using the entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium muscarium to control the sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci has been established in the laboratory by other studies. Laboratory studies however frequently overestimate the level of control achieved by biological control agents in the glasshouse. Before full-scale commercial or field development is considered, glasshouse trials are required to confirm laboratory results. Under both controlled laboratory and glasshouse conditions high mortality of second instar B. tabaci was recorded after application of L. muscarium. The potential of incorporating L. muscarium into integrated pest management strategies for the control of B. tabaci is discussed.  相似文献

Metabolomics is the comprehensive and simultaneous identification and quantification of metabolites in living cells. The term metabolome is used to describe the observable chemical profile or fingerprint of the metabolites in a whole tissue. Although being a new approach to study natural compounds, metabolomics uses traditional analytical techniques, including extraction methods, which can be followed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis. Although metabolomics has been successfully applied to quality control issues, the examples of its use for chemosystematics are few. Thus, the analysis of four taxa of Rosa x damascena (R. damascena Mill., R. damascenasemperflorens, R. damascenatrigintipetala and R. duchesse of Portland) was carried out by NMR spectroscopy as a tool for their classification. A principal component analysis of the 1H NMR spectra, based on the metabolites found in organic and aqueous fractions, showed a clear similarity of the samples. In particular, the major contributions from the aqueous fraction, preliminarily considered as a biomarker of R. x damascena group, are the flavonoids kaempferol and quercetin, glycosilated with glucose and rhamnose units. Our analysis demonstrated a close chemotaxonomic correlation among the four taxa, making this method a reliable tool for chemosystematics.  相似文献

Changes in the concentrations of endogenous free, conjugated and bound polyamine were determined in petals of two different species of rose, viz. Rosa damascena and Rosa bourboniana, from small bud (stage 1) till full bloom (stage 8). High free putrescine and spermidine concentrations were associated with early stages of flower development and then decreased in R. damascena. At full bloom, the concentration of free putrescine was higher than rest of the polyamines measured. A steady increase in conjugated putrescine, spermidine and spermine was observed during entire period of flower development with predominance of conjugated putrescine at full bloom. In R. damascena the bound spermine was higher than rest of the polyamines during full bloom. In R. bourboniana, during the early stages of flower development, similar situation was observed, however, at full bloom, free spermidine concentration was higher than rest of the polyamines. In this species, the concentration of conjugated and bound spermine was higher than rest of the polyamines during full bloom. Polyamine concentrations were generally lower in the petals of R. bourboniana than R. damascena which may be due to genotypic differences. The possible roles of the observed polyamines are discussed in relation to flower development.IHBT Communication no, 0345.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate biological and molecular characteristics of Lecanicillium strains isolated from Hemipteran hosts in Argentina. Morphology‐based taxonomic characterization together with molecular taxonomy based on rRNA operon internal transcribed spacer (ITS), mitochondrial nad1 gene, and nuclear ef1a gene sequences resulted in the assignment of nine out of ten isolates to the Lecanicillium lecanii sensu lato complex. However, whereas several isolates were thus unequivocally characterized as Lecanicillium muscarium or Lecanicillium longisporum, species assignment was not possible for three isolates that might represent a new species within the L. lecanii s.l. complex. We found two group‐I introns on 18S and 28S rRNA gene on only one isolate. Pathogenicity tests were conducted against the peach aphid using conidial suspensions (1 × 107 conidia/ml), and the Kaplan–Meier analysis was performed to evaluate the survival of Myzus persicae. Lecanicillium longisporum CEP 155 and L. muscarium CEP 182 were significantly more pathogenic to M. persicae than all the Lecanicillium isolates causing aphid mortalities >85%. Determination of susceptibility to the benzimidazole fungicide benomyl revealed important differences between Lecanicillium strains. The inhibitory effect of benomyl appeared less pronounced for the L. muscarium fungal isolates than for those belonging to a different taxon. Based in our results, the best candidate strain as microbial biological control agent against M. persicae is L. muscarium CEP 182. However, further research under field conditions in greenhouses should be done in order to confirm the compatibility of entomopathogenic fungi and fungicides within an IPM strategy.  相似文献

Background

Damask roses (Rosa damascena Mill.) are mainly used for essential oil production. Previous studies have indicated that all production material in Bulgaria and Turkey consists of only one genotype. Nine polymorphic microsatellite markers were used to analyze the genetic diversity of 40 accessions of R. damascena collected across major and minor rose oil production areas in Iran.  相似文献

The green peach aphid, Myzus persicae, is a major pest worldwide. An examination of the impact of temperature, relative humidity (RH) and developmental stages of M. persicae on the efficacy of the whitefly mycoinsecticide Mycotal®, based on Lecanicillium muscarium and the effects of infection on aphid fecundity was evaluated under controlled conditions. Although this fungus can be grown at a broad range of temperatures (15–30°C), the optimum temperature for control of M. persicae ranged between 20 and 30°C. L. muscarium had high efficacy as a microbial control agent against M. persicae between 55% and 90% RH. Total mortality of aphids treated with different spore dosages of L. muscarium varied according to the developmental stage: adults, fourth and third instar nymphs proved more susceptible than first instar nymphs. Although the fungus did not affect the rate of nymph production, the reproductive period of aphids significantly decreased with increasing the spore dosage. Thus, total fecundity of treated aphids was 22.6 ± 1.1 and 31.6 ± 2.4 offspring per adult at the medium (644 ± viable spore/mm2) and low (330 ± 40 viable spore/mm2) dosages, compared with 45.7 ± 4.3 offspring per untreated aphid. The results suggest that L. muscarium has the potential as a biological control agent of M. persicae.  相似文献

Damask roses are grown in several European and Asiatic countries for rose oil production. Twenty-six oil-bearing Rosa damascena Mill. accessions and 13 garden Damask roses were assayed by molecular markers. Microsatellite genotyping demonstrated that R. damascena Mill. accessions from Bulgaria, Iran, and India and old European Damask rose varieties possess identical microsatellite profiles, suggesting a common origin. At the same time, the data indicated that modern industrial oil rose cultivation is based on a very narrow genepool and that oil rose collections contain many genetically identical accessions. The study of long-term vegetative propagation of the Damask roses also reveals high somatic stability for the microsatellite loci analyzed.  相似文献

Changes in endogenous abscisic acid (ABA) and phenols were determined in petals of two diverse species of rose, viz., Rosa damascena Mill and Rosa bourboniana Desport during flower development. A progressive increase in free ABA was observed during flower development till full bloom in both the species with higher content of free ABA in Rosa damascena. While bound ABA level increased in Rosa damascena till stage 6, in Rosa bourboniana it continued to increase till full bloom. Acidic phenols increased slowly in both the species till stage 4, but sharply afterwards and no significant differences were noticed during full bloom period. Bound phenols content was higher in Rosa damascena during full bloom period. The significance of these changes in relation to flowering in the two diverse species of rose is discussed.  相似文献

Polyamine contents in xylem (root) and phloem (leaf) exudates in two diverse species of rose, viz. Rosa damascena Mill and Rosa bourboniana Desport, were analyzed before, during, and after flowering in the main flowering season, that is, April–May. Only free putrescine (Put) was detected in the xylem and phloem exudates at these time points, and it was high during the peak flowering period. In phloem, Put content was significantly higher in R. bourboniana than in R. damascena at all three stages; whereas in the xylem exudate it was relatively higher in R. damascena at the peak flowering period. A spray of α-difluoromethylornithine (DFMO), an irreversible inhibitor of the putrescine biosynthetic inhibitor ornithine decarboxylase (ODC), markedly decreased the flowering. This effect was reversed by application of Put alone or in combination with DFMO. The significance of this finding is discussed in light of polyamine translocation during flowering. *IHBT Communication: 0354  相似文献

Polyamines (PAs) retarded the senescence of leaf discs of two diverse speciesof rose viz., Rosa bourboniana andRosa damascena, while polyamine biosynthetic inhibitorsdifluoromethylornithine (DFMO), difluoromethylarginine (DFMA), methylglyoxal-bis(guanylhydrazone) (MGBG) and abscisic acid (ABA) promoted senescence. Sperminewas significantly the most effective polyamine in retarding senescence inR. bourboniana while MGBG and DFMA were more prominent inaccelerating senescence in R. damascena and R.bourboniana respectively. Protein and RNA content were significantlyhigher in polyamine treated leaf discs compared to those treated with polyaminebiosynthetic inhibitors and ABA. Total and reducing sugars decreased under alltreatments while the starch content increased significantly only in polyaminetreated leaf discs. Peroxidase and cellulase activities were retarded bypolyamine treatments and accelerated by polyamine biosynthetic inhibitors andABA. The role of PAs is discussed in relation to senescence.  相似文献

Barley, Hordeum vulgare, one of the important crops in the word, is used in malting, feed and food industries. The red flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum, was found wherever grains or other dried foods are stored. Disinfestations of barley using chemical methods to kill insects, in this research, for the first time we isolated the pathogenic KB512 of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana from soil and insects, which produced aerial and submerged conidia and blastospores in laboratory conditions. We investigated the best conditions for the production and utilisation of spore suspension to spray the larvae of T. castaneum, which is one of the important pests in Kerman province (Iran). One hundred and eighty isolates that naturally infected by T. castaneum were reared during spring and summer seasons 2010–2011. The pathogenicity test was carried out with direct spray. To bioassay the isolates, three concentrations of the spore suspension were prepared as follows: 1?×?106 and 1?×?108 conidia/ml. The pests were sprayed by aerial conidial suspension, which was prepared by 0.01% Tween 80 in distilled water, and the controls were sprayed by 0.01% Tween 80 in distilled water. After spraying the pests, the plates were incubated at 25?±?1?°C and 80% of relative humidity. Then, the treated pests were monitored every day for the fungal growth and mortality.  相似文献

Lecanicillium muscarium Zare and Gams (previously known as Verticillium lecanii) is a well-known pathogen of arthropods. The influence of six fungicides on growth, sporulation, conidial germination and cuticle-degrading enzyme production by L. muscarium was investigated under laboratory conditions. The maximum reduction in vegetative growth, sporulation and conidial germination in relation to the control treatment was observed for propiconazole, whereas mancozeb and chlorothalonil caused the lowest reduction in these parameters. Propiconazole and pyraclostrobin caused higher reduction in enzyme activities (chitinase, Pr1, Pr2 and lipase) at all three concentrations (10, 100 and 1000 µg/ml), whereas low reduction in enzyme activities was caused by chlorothalonil and mancozeb when used at 10 µg/ml. The data presented can be used for future recommendations of these fungicides in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes where L. muscarium is an important control agent.  相似文献

Lecanicillium muscarium is a widely occurring entomopathogenic fungus. Laboratory studies were conducted to determine the efficacy of L. muscarium against different instars of Bemisia tabaci on tomato and verbena foliage after two incubation times (3 and 7 days). Significant reduction in B. tabaci numbers were recorded on fungus treated plants (p < 0.001). Second instar B. tabaci proved most susceptible to L. muscarium infection. There was no significant difference in mortality of B. tabaci second instars after either 3 or 7 days exposure to L. muscarium on either host plant. The importance of the speed of pest mortality following treatment and the potential of L. muscarium to be incorporated into an integrated pest management strategy for the biocontrol of B. tabaci on tomato and verbena plants are discussed.  相似文献
