To study genetically and evaluate resistance to yellow rust, 29 wheat advanced lines were evaluated in randomised complete blocks design with three replicates in seedling stage under greenhouse conditions using nine races 6E150A+, 198E150A+, 134E150A+, 6E158A+, 166E150A+, 198E130A+, 166E158A+, 230E158A+ and 70E0A+, separately. In the adult plant stage, the genotypes were evaluated in two regions of Iran, Zarghan and Gorgan. The components of resistance including latent period and infection type were recorded under greenhouse conditions. Cluster analysis in all races showed that the genotypes 11, 28 and 29 were completely resistant to all races. Under Zarghan and Gorgan races, 27 and 73% of genotypes were resistant in the adult plant stage, respectively. Seven percent of genotypes were resistant in both stages, seedling and adult plant. All resistant lines can be used in plant breeding programme.  相似文献

In order to counteract the effects of the mutant genes in races of leaf rust (Puccinia recondita f.sp. tritici Rob. ex Desm.) and stem rust (P. graminis f.sp. tritici Eriks. &Henn.) in wheat, exploration of new resistance genes in wheat relatives is necessary. Three accessions of Triticum cylindricum Ces. (4x, CCDD), Acy1, Acy9, and Acy11, were tested with 10 races each of leaf rust and stem rust. They were resistant to all races tested. Viable F1 plants were produced from the crosses of the T. cylindricum accessions as males with susceptible MP and Chinese Spring ph1b hexaploid wheats (T. aestivum, 6x, AABBDD), but not with susceptible Kubanka durum wheat (T. turgidum var. durum, 4x, AABB), even with embryo rescue. In these crosses the D genome of hexaploid wheat may play a critical role in eliminating the barriers for species isolation during hybrid seed development. The T. cylindricum rust resistance was expressed in the F1 hybrids with hexaploid wheat. However, only the cross MP/Acy1 was successfully backcrossed to another susceptible hexaploid wheat, LMPG-6. In the BC2F2 of the cross MP/Acy1//LMPG-6/3/MP, monosomic or disomic addition lines with resistance to either leaf rust race 15 (infection types (IT) 1=, 1, or 1+; addition line 1) or stem rust race 15B-1 (IT 1 or 1+; addition line 2) were selected. Rust tests and examination of chromosome pairing of the F1 hybrids and the progeny of the disomic addition lines confirmed that the genes for rust resistance were located on the added T. cylindricum C-genome chromosomes rather than on the D-genome chromosomes. The T. cylindricum chromosome in addition line 2 was determined to be chromosome 4C through the detection of RFLPs among the genomes using a set of homoeologous group-specific wheat cDNA probes. Addition line 1 was resistant to the 10 races of leaf rust and addition line 2 was resistant to the 10 races of stem rust, as was the T. cylindricum parent. The added C-genome chromosomes occasionally paired with hexaploid wheat chromosomes. Translocation lines with rust resistance (2n = 21 II) may be obtained in the self-pollinated progeny of the addition lines through spontaneous recombination of the C-genome chromosomes and wheat chromosomes. Such translocation lines with resistance against a wide spectrum of rust races should be potentially valuable in breeding wheat for rust resistance.  相似文献

1994—2002年经对3822份小麦品种(系)材料抗条锈性鉴定结果表明,冬小麦抗条锈性优于春小麦,甘肃品种抗条锈性优于国内其它省区品种。田间抗条锈性监测结果表明,我国主要生产品种均表现感病,甘肃主要生产品种仅陇鉴127等少数几个品种抗病,抗源材料中也仅有中四等少数品种表现抗病,结合抗病性鉴定、监测结果及田间综合农艺性状观察,筛选出20余份可供育种利用的抗源材料。同时在针对今后抗条中31、32号等主要小种类型的抗病育种、抗病性监测等方面进行了讨论。  相似文献

Six accessions of Triticum triaristatum (Willd) Godr. &Gren. (syn. Aegilops triaristata) (6x, UUMMUnUn), having good resistance to both leaf rust (Puccinia recondita f.sp. tritici Rob. ex Desm) races and stem rust (P. graminis f.sp. tritici Eriks. &Henn.) races, were successfully crossed with both susceptible durum wheats (T. turgidum var. durum L., 2n = 28, AABB) and bread wheats (T. aestivum, 2n = 42, AABBDD). In some crosses, embryo rescue was necessary. The T. triaristatum resistance was expressed in all F1 hybrids. Backcrossing of the F1 hybrids to their wheat parents to produce BC1F1 plants was more difficult (seed set 0-7.14%) than to produce F1 hybrids (seed set 12.50-78.33%). The low female fertility of the F1 hybrids was due to low chromosome pairing. Only gametes with complete or nearly complete genomes from the F1 hybrids were viable. In BC2F4 populations from the cross MP/Ata2//2*MP, monosomic or disomic addition lines (2n = 21 II + 1 I or 22 II) with resistance to leaf rust race 15 (IT 1) were selected. In BC2F2 populations from the crosses CS/Ata4//2*MP and MP/Ata4//2*MP, monosomic or disomic addition lines with resistance to either leaf rust race 15 or stem rust race 15B-1 (both IT 1) were selected. Rust tests and cytology on the progeny of the disomic addition lines confirmed that the genes for rust resistance were located on the added T. triaristatum chromosomes. The homoeologous groups of the T. triaristatum chromosomes in the addition lines from the crosses MP/Ata2//2*MP, CS/Ata4//2*MP, and MP/Ata4//2*MP were determined to be 5, 2, and 7, respectively, through the detecting of RFLPs among genomes using a set of homoeologous group specific wheat cDNA probes. The addition lines with resistance to leaf rust race 15 from the crosses MP/Ata2//2*MP and CS/Ata4//2*MP were resistant to another nine races of leaf rust and the addition line with resistance to stem rust race 15B-1 from the cross MP/Ata4//2*MP was resistant to another nine races of stem rust as were their T. triaristatum parents. Since such genes provide resistance against a wide spectrum of rust races they should be very valuable in wheat breeding for rust resistance.  相似文献

为了发现具有兼抗多种病害的小麦种质,本研究采用田间病圃法和人工接种法,对28份人工合成小麦的禾谷孢囊线虫、纹枯病、条锈病和叶锈病进行了抗性鉴定。人工合成小麦对这些病害表现不同程度的抗性反应。C2和C20对鉴定的4种病害都具有抗性,C5、C10和C25对这些病害都表现感病。8份材料对Heterodera avenae和H. filipjevi两种病原线虫都表现抗性反应型,也有的材料只抗一种线虫。供试材料对纹枯病的抗性表现较好,其中19份材料表现抗性反应型。9份材料对接种的条锈菌小种CY30、CY31、CY32和CY33均表现抗性反应型,5份材料对叶锈菌小种THT和PHT都具抗性。  相似文献

2003-2013年小麦品种(系)抗条锈性鉴定及评价   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
2003-2013年在甘肃省农业科学院植物保护研究所兰州温室和甘谷试验站,分别对来自国内35个相关育种单位的冬春小麦品种(系)5001份,其中冬小麦4291份、春小麦710份,进行苗期混合菌、成株期分小种和混合菌抗条锈性接种鉴定,结果表明:全生育期表现免疫近免疫的有兰天31号等479份,高抗的有兰天23号等76份,中抗的有天选49等291份,分别占9.58%、1.52%和5.82%;成株期表现免疫近免疫的有天选50号等840份,高抗的有兰天27号等47份,中抗的有天选52等311份,分别占16.80%、0.94%和6.22%;苗期表现免疫近免疫的有兰天30号等964份,高抗的有天98102等122份,中抗的有00-30等273份,分别占19.28%、2.44%和5.46%.冬小麦有天选49号等914份材料表现全生育期抗病,占18.28%;有97-473等906份成株期表现抗病,占18.12%;有兰天20号等1225份苗期表现抗病,占24.50%.春小麦有定西41号等113份材料全生育期表现抗病,占2.26%;有陇春28号等125份成株期表现抗病,占2.50%;有0109-1等114份苗期对混合菌表现抗病,占2.28%.先后在甘肃天水汪川良种场对相关材料进行成株期抗条锈性评价,结果发现:1154份从小种圃筛选出的抗病材料中,表现抗病的有兰天31号等745份,占64.56%;105份甘肃陇南生产品种中,到2013年表现抗病的仅有兰天28号、中梁31号等30份材料,占28.57%;后备品系中,00-30-2-1、CP04-20、00127-2-3等抗性表现优异;抗源材料中,仅有贵农775、中四、T.Spelta albun、贵协1、贵协3等少数材料表现抗病,重要抗源材料贵农21、贵农22、南农92R、川麦42、Moro从2011年开始在田间表现感病,逐步失去利用价值.其衍生系品种材料如陇鉴9343、天选43号、中梁29号、兰天17号、兰天24号等也在田间逐步感病,条锈病发生流行压力持续增大.  相似文献

Many physiological races of Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici which cause stripe rust in wheat can be determined in different parts of the world. The emergence of new races with different pathogenicity which happens very quickly breaks cultivars resistant and cause disease. Therefore, breeding cultivar for resistance to different pathogenic races should be continued. In this research, pathogenicity of two isolates collected from two regions of Iran were determined by using wheat yellow rust differential lines, which indicated race 70E50A+ and 6E18A+ The responses of 30 wheat genotypes were separately evaluated in the forms of randomized complete block design with three replicates in the seedling stage under greenhouse condition. The components of resistance including latent period and infection type were recorded. Results indicated genotypes were evaluated in terms of both traits and were significant at 1% level. Also, the results from pathogenicity study indicated of effective gene/s included Yr1, Yr2+, Yr3, Yr4, Yr5, Yr10, Yr15, Yr24, Yr26, YrSP, YrND, YrSD and YrSU. From the genotypes studied in the greenhouse condition, 39% of the genotypes showed complete resistance to both races. Probably, resistance genes, Yr32 and YrCV, or the other unknown genes which are types of seedling resistance are either alone or in combination of one another cause strength in resistant genotypes.  相似文献

Wild relatives of crop plants may serve as a promising source for screening for new disease resistance genes that can be utilized in breeding programs. Triticum dicoccoides, the wild progenitor of most cultivated wheats, was shown to harbor many resistance genes against the major diseases attacking cultivated wheat. Stripe rust is a devastating fungal disease that attacks wheat in many regions of the world. New races of Puccinia striiformis Westend. f. sp. tritici, the causative agent of stripe rust, have overcome most of the known Yr resistance genes in wheat. Therefore, there is a need to search for new resistance genes in the T. dicoccoides gene pool. A set of 120 T. dicoccoides accessions, collected from 13 populations representing different habitats in Israel and vicinity, was tested for resistance to three prevalent stripe rust races (38E134, 6E16 and 6E0). Of these 120 accessions, 14, 8 and 12% were resistant to races 38E134, 6E16 and 6E0, respectively, while 57, 2 and 4% were moderately resistant to these races, respectively. A unique resistance was found in the population of Mt Hermon where >80% of the accessions showed resistance to all races. Distribution of infection types (ITs) of race 38E134 showed a normal distribution that can fit a quantitative pattern of response, while the distributions of ITs of races 6E16 and 6E0 had excess of extreme values and therefore showing a qualitative pattern of response. anova testing the main factor effects and interaction showed significant effects of population, race and their interaction on IT. Significant positive correlations were obtained between the resistance to races 6E16 and 6E0 and humidity variables of the collections sites, while resistance to race 38E134 was positively correlated with temperature variables. These results show that the pathogen race can determine the type of resistance response, qualitative or quantitative, in the stripe rust—T. dicoccoides pathosystem. The obtained results also reveal that the distribution of resistance to different pathogen races can be affected by different climatic factors.  相似文献

Interactions between biotype E greenbug, Schizaphis graminum (Rondani), and wheat, Triticum aestivum L., were investigated using resistant and susceptible near isogenic lines of the greenbug resistance gene Gb3. In an antixenosis test, the greenbugs preferred susceptible plants to resistant ones when free choice of hosts was allowed. Aphid feeding resulted in quick and severe damage to susceptible plants, which seemed to follow a general pattern spatially and was affected by the position where the greenbugs were initially placed. Symptom of damage in resistant plants resembled senescence. Within-plant distribution of aphids after infestation was clearly different between the two genotypes. Significantly more greenbugs fed on the first (oldest) leaf than on the stem in resistant plants, but this preference was reversed in the susceptible one. After reaching its peak, aphid population on the susceptible plants dropped quickly. All susceptible plants were dead in 10-14 d after infestation due to greenbug feeding. Aphid population dynamics on resistant plants exhibited a multipeak curve. After the first peak, the greenbug population declined slowly. More than 70% of resistant plants were killed 47 d after infestation. Performance of both biotype E and I greenbugs on several Gb3-related wheat germplasm lines were also examined. It seems that the preference-on-stem that was characteristic of biotype E greenbugs on the susceptible plants was aphid biotype- and host genotype-dependent. Results from this study suggested that antixenosis, antibiosis, and tolerance in the resistant plants of wheat might all contribute to resistance against greenbug feeding.  相似文献

Blast, caused by Magnaporthe grisea, is one of the most important diseases in rice production regions of the world including Iran. To determine progress of rice blast disease on the selective cultivars and lines also to assay some components of partial resistance, a set of Iranian rice cultivars (Local and breeding) along with near-isogenic lines (NILs) and breeding lines from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) were tested with some field races of the fungus in blast nursery and five of selective races in greenhouse. These experiments were conducted in a Randomized complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications (except greenhouse experiment on the leaves). Traits in this study consisted of Infection Neck Number (INN), Neck Lesion Size (NLS), Infection Type (IT), percent Diseased Leaf Area (DLA) and Area Under Disease Progress Curve (AUDPC); also IT, Sporulation Lesion Number (SLN), Sporulating Region Diameter (SRD) and percent DLA were measured in leaf blast in greenhouse (one replication). The Iranian local cultivars and NILs i.e. Co-39 and C104-PKT located as susceptible group for AUDPC, IT, INN and NLS. Iranian breeding cultivars, breeding lines from IRRI and NILs (except Co-39 and C104-PKT) were resistant or indicated hypersensivity reaction (HR). Some cultivars (Fujiminori, Onda, and Hassan Saraii) were semi susceptible to leaf blast in nursery. The main point is correlation in 1% (a = 0.0001) between the traits in greenhouse and blast nursery. Neck node infection of Haraz cultivar in greenhouse experiment to IA-89 race is very important, because Haraz is a resistant cultivar to blast disease in Iran.  相似文献

Haustoria of Puccinia triticina (wheat leaf rust fungus) and P. hordei (barley leaf rust fungus) were isolated from susceptible and partially resistant wheat lines, and susceptible, hypersensitive and partially resistant barley lines. Haustoria were counted and measured. The size of haustoria was similar in the partially resistant and susceptible genotypes but haustoria were smaller in the hypersensitive barley line L94+Pa7. The number of haustoria was reduced in both partially and hypersensitive lines when compared with susceptible ones. Therefore it seems that the reduction in the number of haustoria is a consequence of the resistance that can be attributable either to early abortion of infection units or reduced colony growth. The reduction of the number of haustoria was more pronounced in the adult plant stage.  相似文献

The Canadian common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar 'Roblin' is resistant to both leaf rust (Puccinia recondita Rob. ex. Desm.) and stem rust (Puccinia graminis Pers. f. sp. tritici Eriks. and E. Henn.). To study the genetics of this resistance, 'Roblin' was crossed with 'Thatcher', a leaf rust susceptible cultivar, and RL6071, a stem rust susceptible line. A set of F6 random lines was developed from each cross. The random lines and the parents were grown in a field rust nursery artificially inoculated with a mixture of P. recondita and P. graminis isolates and scored for rust reaction. The same material was tested with specific races of leaf rust and stem rust. These data indicated that 'Roblin' has Lr1, Lr10, Lr13, and Lr34 for resistance to P. recondita and Sr5, Sr9b, Sr11, and possibly Sr7a and Sr12 for resistance to P. graminis. In a 'Thatcher' background, the presence of Lr34 contributes to improve stem rust resistance, which appears also to occur in 'Roblin'.  相似文献

山东省12个主栽小麦品种(系)抗叶锈性分析   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
本研究旨在明确山东省12个小麦主栽品种(系)抗叶锈性及抗叶锈基因,为小麦品种推广与合理布局、叶锈病防治及抗病育种提供依据。利用2015年采自山东省的5个小麦叶锈菌流行小种的混合小种对这些材料进行苗期抗性鉴定,然后选用15个小麦叶锈菌生理小种对这些品种(系)进行苗期基因推导,并利用与24个小麦抗叶锈基因紧密连锁(或共分离)的30个分子标记对其进行抗叶锈基因分子检测。结果显示,山东省12个主栽小麦品种(系)苗期对该省2015年的5个小麦叶锈菌混合流行小种均表现高度感病。通过基因推导与分子检测发现,济南17含有Lr16,矮抗58和山农20含有Lr26,其余济麦系列、烟农系列、良星系列等9个品种(系)均未检测到所供试标记片段。此外,本研究还对山东省3个非主栽品种进行了检测,结果发现,中麦175含有抗叶锈基因Lr1和Lr37,含有成株抗性基因;皖麦38只检测到Lr26,济麦20未检测到所供试标记片段。综合以上结果,山东省主栽小麦品种(系)所含抗叶锈基因丰富度较低,尤其不含有对我国小麦叶锈菌流行小种有效的抗锈基因,应该引起高度重视,今后育种工作应注重引入其他抗叶锈基因,提高抗叶锈性。  相似文献

小麦条锈病是影响杂交小麦普及推广的重要因素。文章利用基因推导法和SSR分子标记技术,研究了温光型两系杂交小麦恢复系MR168的抗条锈性遗传规律及其控制基因染色体位置。结果表明,MR168对CY29、CY31、CY32、CY33等条锈菌生理小种表现高抗至免疫;对SY95-71/MR168杂交组合的正反交F1、BC1、F2和F3群体分单株接种鉴定显示,MR168对CY32号小种的抗性受1对显性核基因控制,该抗病基因来源于春小麦品种辽春10号。利用集群分离分析法(Bulked segregant analysis,BSA)和简单重复序列(Simple sequence repeat,SSR)分子标记分析抗病亲本MR168、感病亲本SY95-71及183个F2代单株,发现了与MR168抗条锈病基因连锁的5个微卫星标记Xgwm273、Xgwm18、Xbarc187、Xwmc269、Xwmc406,并将该基因初步定位在1BS着丝粒附近,暂命名为YrMR168;构建了包含YrMR168的SSR标记遗传图谱,距离YrMR168最近的两个微卫星位点是Xgwm18和Xbarc187,遗传距离分别为1.9 cM和2.4 cM,这两个微卫星标记可用于杂交小麦抗条锈病分子标记辅助育种。  相似文献

小偃麦衍生品系CH7086抗白粉基因的遗传及SSR分析   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
CH7086是兼抗白粉病、条锈病的小麦新品系,衍牛于来自十倍体长穗偃麦草的八倍体小偃麦与普通小麦的杂种后代.温室接种鉴定结果显示,CH7086对白粉病菌系E09、E21、E26均表现为免疫,且其抗件来自长穗偃麦草.抗性遗传分析表明CH7086的白粉病抗性由1对显性基因控制,暂定名为MlCH86.应用分离群体分组法(BSA)对从CH5241×CH7086的F2中随机选取的95个单株进行微卫星标记检测,发现位于2BL、2DL上的SSR位点Xbarc159在双亲和抗、感池间有特异性,并与抗性基因MlCH86连锁,其遗传距离为10.8 cM.用中国春第2部分同源群的缺体-四体系和双端体系进行验证,进一步将MlCH86定位在2BL上.用白粉病菌系E21、E26接种鉴定表明,MlCH86的抗性反应明显不同于2BL上已命名的抗性基因Pm6、Pm33.根据抗性基因的来源、染色体位置及抗性反应,初步推断存在于CH7086的抗性基因来自长穗偃麦草,它不同于已有的抗白粉病基因,可能是一个新基因.  相似文献

 The cereal cyst nematode (Heterodera avenae) is an important root parasite of common wheat. A high level of resistance was transferred to wheat from Aegilops triuncialis (TR lines) using the cross [(T. turgidum×Ae. triuncialisT. aestivum]. Low fertility (3–5 viable kernels per plant) was observed during the process but the surviving hybrid plants were highly vigorous. To obtain stable resistant lines further crosses to T. aestivum were performed. The resistance in TR lines seems to be transferred from the C genome of Ae. triuncialis (genomes CCUU). Ae. triuncialis was highly resistant to the two Spanish populations of H. avenae tested, as well as to four French races and two Swedish populations. The histological analysis showed a hypersensitive reaction in the roots of a resistant TR line inoculated with the Ha71 pathotype of H. avenae, whereas well-formed syncytia were observed in the roots of the susceptible control. Resistance to the H. avenae Ha71 pathotype seemed to be inherited as determined by a single dominant factor in the crosses between resistant TR lines and susceptible cultivars. 1995年10月至1997年11月,在美国阿肯色大学水稻研究推广中心,用水稻品种LA110和Jasmine-85与水稻品种Teqing、Katy、Mars、LaGrue和Newbonnet进行不完全双列杂交,对其杂交后代和亲本用美国3个主要稻瘟病菌小种(以下简称小种)IB-33、IB-45和IE-1进行接种鉴定和遗传分析研究.结果表明:亲本LA110、Jasmine-85、Teqing抗所有3个小种.Katy抗小种IB-45和IE-1,感小种IB-33.Mars抗小种IE-1,感小种IB-33和IB-45.LaGrue感所有3个小种.Newbonnet抗小种IB-45,感小种IB-33和IE-1.所有抗病亲本的抗病基因,其F1分别对相应小种呈现显性抗病性.抗病亲本杂交,LA110与Jasmine-85对小种IB-33,LA110与Teqing、Jasmine-85对小种IE-1,及Jasmine-85与Teqing对小种IE-1,是等位的抗病基因.LA110与Teqing对小种IB-33,及Jasmine-85与Teqing对小种IB-33,分别存在三对独立遗传的显性抗病基因.LA110与Teqing、Katy、Newbonnet、Jasmine-85对小种IB-45,Jasmine-85与Teqing、Katy、Newbonnet对小种IB-45,LA110与Katy、Mars对小种IE-1,Jasmine-85与Katy、Mars对小种IE-1,分别存在两对独立遗传的显性抗性基因.抗病亲本LA110或Jasmine-85与感病亲本Mars对小种IB-33,抗病亲本LA110与感病亲本Mars对小种IB-45,具有两对显性互补抗病基因,当两对显性抗病基因同时存在时,表现出抗性.抗病亲本LA110或Jasmine-85与感病亲本Katy、LaGrue、Newbonnet对小种IB-33,抗病亲本LA110与感病亲本LaGrue对小种IB-45,抗病亲本Jasmine-85与感病亲本Mars、LaGrue对小种IB-45,抗病亲本LA110或Jasmine-85与感病亲本LaGrue、Newbonnet对小种IE-1,分别存在一对显性抗病基因.两个亲本正、反交的遗传表现一致.本文也讨论了LA110、Teqing和Jasmine-85三个抗病品种在美国水稻抗病育种中利用的可能性.  相似文献

Stable resistance to infection with Wheat streak mosaic virus (WSMV) can be evolved de novo in selfing bread wheat lines subjected to cycles of WSMV inoculation and selection of best-performing plants or tillers. To learn whether this phenomenon might be applied to evolve resistance de novo to pathogens unrelated to WSMV, we examined the responses to leaf rust of succeeding generations of the rust- and WSMV-susceptible cultivar ‘Lakin’ following WSMV inoculation and derived rust-resistant sublines. After three cycles of the iterative protocol five plants, in contrast to all others, expressed resistance to leaf and stripe rust. A subset of descendant sublines of one of these, ‘R1’, heritably and uniformly expressed the new trait of resistance to leaf rust. Such sublines, into which no genes from a known source of resistance had been introgressed, conferred resistance to progeny of crosses with susceptible parents. The F1 populations produced from crosses between, respectively, susceptible and resistant ‘Lakin’ sublines 4-3-3 and 4-12-3 were not all uniform in their response to seedling inoculation with race TDBG. In seedling tests against TDBG and MKPS races the F2s from F1 populations that were uniformly resistant had 3∶1 ratios of resistant to susceptible individuals but the F2s from susceptible F1 progenitors were uniformly susceptible. True-breeding lines derived from resistant individuals in F2 populations were resistant to natural stripe and leaf rust inoculum in the field, while the ‘Lakin’ progenitor was susceptible. The next generation of six of the ‘Lakin’-derived lines exhibited moderate to strong de novo resistance to stem rust races TPMK, QFCS and RKQQ in seedling tests while the ‘Lakin’ progenitor was susceptible. These apparently epigenetic effects in response to virus infection may help researchers fashion a new tool that expands the range of genetic resources already available in adapted germplasm.  相似文献

The development of resistant crop varieties depends on the reliability of the method of screening for resistance. One of the techniques widely used in evaluating field resistance is the field screening method. However, most cowpea varieties regarded as having field resistance are often found to be susceptible in farmers’ fields, where the inoculum density can be higher. This study rescreened 96 cowpea varieties, evaluated earlier in breeders’ fields as resistant to Xanthomonas campestris pv. vignicola, in field and greenhouse under high inoculum pressure. There were significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) in the reactions of cowpea varieties to bacterial blight in terms of disease incidence and severity. Results from the field screening showed that there were 69 susceptible, 25 moderately susceptible, and 2 resistant varieties. In artificial inoculation in the greenhouse IT81D‐1228‐14, IT82E‐16, IT93K‐2271‐2‐2, TVu 1235, and TVu 4630, which were moderately susceptible in the field showed a susceptible reaction. Tvu 12349 and Tvu 15549 gave consistent reactions in the field and in the greenhouse and are therefore good sources of stable resistance to bacterial blight pathogen. Stem canker incidence also varied significantly (P ≤ 0.05) among the cowpea varieties. Seventeen varieties did not manifest canker symptoms.  相似文献

Wheatgrasses (species of Agropyron complex) have previously been reported to be resistant to barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV). To introgress this resistance into wheat, Triticum aestivum x Thinopyrum (Agropyron) intermedium hybrids were advanced through a backcrossing program and reaction to BYDV, as determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), is reported for the first time in backcross populations of wide hybrids between wheat and wheatgrasses. ELISA values revealed highly resistant to highly susceptible segregants in backcrosses. BYDV resistance was expressed in some backcross derivatives. Continued selection, based on cytology and ELISA in each generation, eliminated most of the unwanted wheatgrass chromosomes and produced self-fertile BYDV resistant wheat lines. The BYDV resistant lines with 2n = 42 had normal chromosome pairing similar to wheat, and their F1 hybrids with wheat had two univalents. DNA analyses showed that the source of alien chromatin in these BYDV resistant wheat lines is distinguishable from that in other Th. intermedium derived BYDV resistant wheat lines. Chromosome pairing and restriction fragment length polymorphism analyses indicated that the 42 chromosome resistant Purdue wheat lines are substitution lines in which chromosome 7D was replaced by a chromosome from Th. intermedium that was carrying gene(s) for BYDV resistance.  相似文献
