The problem of feedback stabilization of the resistive wall modes (RWMs) in a tokamak is discussed. An equilibrium configuration with the parameters accepted for the stationary ITER scenario 4A is considered as the main scenario. The effect of the vacuum chamber's shape on the plasma stability is studied. Ideal MHD stability is analyzed numerically by using the KINX code. It is shown that, in a tokamak with the parameters of the designed T-15M tokamak, RWMs can be stabilized by a conventional stabilizing system made of framelike coils. However, the maximum possible gain in β in such a tokamak is found to be smaller than that in ITER. It is shown that, in this case, a reduction in the plasma—wall gap width by 10 cm allows one to substantially increase the β limit, provided that RWMs are stabilized by active feedback.  相似文献

Unambiguous diagnostics intended for measuring the time behavior of the electron density and monitoring the line-averaged plasma density in the T-11M tokamak are described. The time behavior of the plasma density in the T-11M tokamak is measured by a multichannel phase-jump-free microwave polarization interferometer based on the Cotton-Mouton effect. After increasing the number of simultaneously operating interferometer channels and enhancing the sensitivity of measurements, it became possible to measure the time evolution of the plasma density profile in the T-11M tokamak. The first results from such measurements in various operating regimes of the T-11M tokamak are presented. The measurement and data processing techniques are described, the measurement errors are analyzed, and the results obtained are discussed. We propose using a pulsed time-of-flight refractometer to monitor the average plasma density in the T-11M tokamak. The refractometer emits nanosecond microwave probing pulses with a carrier frequency that is higher than the plasma frequency and, thus, operates in the transmission mode. A version of the instrument has been developed with a carrier frequency of 140 GHz, which allows one to measure the average density in regimes with a nominal T-11M plasma density of (3–5)×1013 cm?3. Results are presented from the first measurements of the average density in the T-11M tokamak with the help of a pulsed time-of-flight refractometer by probing the plasma in the equatorial plane in a regime with the reflection of the probing radiation from the inner wall of the vacuum chamber.  相似文献

Results are presented from L-2M stellarator experiments on testing a possible method for detection of water microleakages in the cooling system of the first wall and vacuum chamber of ITER. The method consists in the spectroscopic detection of spectral lines of the OH hydroxyl, which forms via the dissociation of water molecules in plasma. Emission in the spectral band of 305–310 nm can be detected even at water leakage rates less than 10?4 Pa m3/s. Chemical reactions between water and boron compounds on the vacuum chamber wall delay the detection of leakages up to ~2000 s. A similar phenomenon can be expected when a leakage will occur in ITER, where the materials suggested for the first wall (Be, Li) can also chemically react with water.  相似文献

Results of testing of a possible method for location of water microleakages in the cooling system of the first wall and vacuum chamber of ITER are presented. The method consists in spectroscopic detection of the emission lines of atoms and ions of the Xe additive dissolved in water. These lines are excited when the water with dissolved Xe contacts the plasma. The high electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) power deposited in a relatively small plasma volume in the L-2M stellarator (P = 0.5 MW, V = 0.24 m3, and the specific heating power ??2 MW/m3) makes it possible to achieve plasma parameters close to those in the edge plasma of ITER for different operating modes, including the H-mode with an edge transport barrier. In test experiments, several lines of Xe ions were revealed suitable for detection of xenon in plasma with parameters close to those in the edge plasma of ITER at leakage rates at a level of ??10?6 Pa m3 s?1 and spatial resolution of ??0.5 cm.  相似文献

The program of experiments on ITER includes a sequential change of the plasma isotopic composition from pure hydrogen plasma in the initial stage of research to deuterium and, then, deuterium-tritium plasma with a gradual increase in the tritium content. In this context, the influence of the plasma isotopic composition on the processes of plasma heating and confinement are being actively studied on the existing tokamaks and stellarators. The plasma isotopic composition also depends on the composition of the gas desorbed from the vacuum chamber wall in the course of recycling. Therefore, the rate of change of the plasma isotopic composition after altering the injected gas also depends on the rate of change of the isotopic composition of the gas absorbed in the wall. These effects were studied in the experiments carried out on the L-2M stellarator in which the working gas was changed from hydrogen to deuterium. Spectral measurements of the intensity ratio between the H α and D α lines made it possible to monitor the isotopic composition of the plasma in the course of cleaning of the chamber wall from earlier absorbed hydrogen and its replacement with deuterium. After returning to hydrogen, the rate of cleaning of the wall from deuterium was also determined. The results of these experiments show that the plasma isotopic composition varies exponentially with the number N of shots after transition to another isotope, ∼exp(−N/47). Hence, the isotopic composition can be changed almost completely over 2 to 3 working days. This allows one to study the influence of the plasma isotopic composition on plasma confinement during the same experimental session.  相似文献

A pulsed time-of-flight refractometer was developed and tested to determine the mean plasma density in the T-11M tokamak by measuring the propagation time of nanosecond microwave pulses in plasma. Later, it was also proposed to use such an instrument to measure and control the mean plasma density in the ITER tokamak by probing the plasma with an extraordinary wave, the electric field of which is perpendicular to the magnetic field in plasma, in the transparency window at frequencies of 50–100 GHz. To avoid the effect of the density profile shape on the measurement results in the nonlinear mode of refractometer operation (near the cutoff), a system operating at two different probing frequencies was developed and tested. Such a system provides two values of the time delay, which can be used to estimate the peaking factor of the density distribution α and correctly determine the linear density 〈Nl〉, regardless of the density profile (assuming a smooth density profile of the form of N(ρ) = N(0)(1 − ρ2)α, where N(0) is the central plasma density and ρ = r/a is the normalized plasma radius). The first experiments on density measurements in the FTU tokamak performed with this refractometer are described, and results from these experiments are presented. The formation of a thin dense plasma layer in the zone of a strong magnetic field (the so-called MARFE layer) at a relatively low (for FTU) plasma density of ∼6 × 1019 m−3 was detected. The thickness of this layer, determined from the refractometry data, agrees well with the data obtained using a digital camera.  相似文献

The applicability of the CXSFIT code to process experimental data from Charge-eXchange Recombination Spectroscopy (CXRS) diagnostics at the T-10 tokamak is studied with a view to its further use for processing experimental data at the ITER facility. The design and operating principle of the CXRS diagnostics are described. The main methods for processing the CXRS spectra of the 5291-Å line of C5+ ions at the T-10 tokamak (with and without subtraction of parasitic emission from the edge plasma) are analyzed. The method of averaging the CXRS spectra over several shots, which is used at the T-10 tokamak to increase the signal-to-noise ratio, is described. The approximation of the spectrum by a set of Gaussian components is used to identify the active CXRS line in the measured spectrum. Using the CXSFIT code, the ion temperature in ohmic discharges and discharges with auxiliary electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) at the T-10 tokamak is calculated from the CXRS spectra of the 5291-Å line. The time behavior of the ion temperature profile in different ohmic heating modes is studied. The temperature profile dependence on the ECRH power is measured, and the dynamics of ECR removal of carbon nuclei from the T-10 plasma is described. Experimental data from the CXRS diagnostics at T-10 substantially contribute to the implementation of physical programs of studies on heat and particle transport in tokamak plasmas and investigation of geodesic acoustic mode properties.  相似文献

Calculations are made of the plasma spectral background, which is important for the Thomson scattering diagnostics in the ITER divertor. Theoretical grounds have been elaborated for computing the hydrogen spectral line shapes in the infrared spectral region for a divertor plasma in ITER. The shape of the P-7 Paschen line (transition n = 7 → n = 3) located near the laser scattering signal has been calculated for various lines of sight in the ITER divertor. Contributions from different mechanisms of broadening the P-7 line have been examined. The spectral intensities of bremsstrahlung and photorecombination continuum have been calculated. All calculations use data on the spatial distribution of temperatures and densities of all species of plasma particles computed with the SOLPS4.3 code for basic operation regimes of the ITER divertor.  相似文献

The innovative concept and 3D full-wave code modeling the off-axis current drive by radio-frequency (RF) waves in large-scale tokamaks, ITER and DEMO, for steady-state operation with high efficiency is proposed. The scheme uses the helicon radiation (fast magnetosonic waves at high (20–40) ion cyclotron frequency harmonics) at frequencies of 500–700 MHz propagating in the outer regions of the plasmas with a rotational transform. It is expected that the current generated by helicons, in conjunction with the bootstrap current, ensure the maintenance of a given value of the total current in the stability margin q(0) ≥ 2 and q(a) ≥ 4, and will help to have regimes with a negative magnetic shear and internal transport barrier to ensure stability at high normalized plasma pressure β N > 3 (the so-called advanced scenarios) of interest for the commercial reactor. Modeling with full-wave three-dimensional codes PSTELION and STELEC showed flexible control of the current profile in the reactor plasmas of ITER and DEMO, using multiple frequencies, the positions of the antennae and toroidal wave slow down. Also presented are the results of simulations of current generation by helicons in the DIII-D, T-15MD, and JT-60AS tokamaks. Commercially available continuous-wave klystrons of the MW/tube range are promising for commercial stationary fusion reactors. The compact antennae of the waveguide type are proposed, and an example of a possible RF system for today’s tokamaks is given. The advantages of the scheme (partially tested at lower frequencies in tokamaks) are a significant decline in the role of parametric instabilities in the plasma periphery, the use of electrically strong resonator-waveguide type antennae, and substantially greater antenna-plasma coupling.  相似文献

The effects of the centrifugal force and finite Larmor radius on plasma stability in the gas-dynamic trap are considered. Estimates show that the stability is governed by the strong effect of the finite Larmor radius of fast particles. If this stabilizing mechanism does not operate, then the instability ceases to be exponential when the sheared plasma rotation becomes sufficiently intense. In this case, the potential perturbation amplitude increases according to a power law, and the instability threshold remains unchanged. These effects do not influence the stability of the first azimuthal perturbation mode in a plasma with a free boundary. But when the plasma is in good electrical contact with the conducting wall of the device and when the plasma density profile is not too peaked at the axis, the first mode is stabilized by the finite Larmor radius effect because of the radial variation of the perturbed electric field.  相似文献

High oxidative stability and catalytic efficiency are required for the alkaline α-amylases to keep the enzymatic performance under the harsh conditions in detergent industries. In this work, we attempted to significantly improve both the oxidative stability and catalytic efficiency of an alkaline α-amylase from Alkalimonas amylolytica by engineering the five oxidation-prone methionine residues around the catalytic domain via a systematic approach. Specifically, based on the tertiary structure analysis, five methionines (Met 145, Met 214, Met 229, Met 247 and Met 317) were individually substituted with oxidation-resistant threonine, isoleucine and alaline, respectively. Among the created 15 mutants, 7 mutants M145A, M145I, M214A, M229A, M229T, M247T and M317I showed significantly enhanced oxidative stability or catalytic efficiency. In previous work, we found that the replacement of M247 with leucine could significantly improve the oxidative stability. Thus, these 8 positive mutants (M145A, M145I, M214A, M229A, M229T, M247T, M247L and M317I) were used to conduct the second round of combinational mutations. Among the constructed 85 mutants (25 two-point mutants, 36 three-point mutants, 16 four-point mutants and 8 five-point mutants), the mutant M145I-214A-229T-247T-317I showed a 5.4-fold increase in oxidative stability and a 3.0-fold increase in catalytic efficiency. Interestingly, the specific activity, alkaline stability and thermal stability of this mutant were also increased. The increase of salt bridge and hydrogen bonds around the catalytic domain contributed to the significantly improved catalytic efficiency and stability, as revealed by the three-dimensional structure model of wild-type alkaline α-amylase and its mutant M145I-214A-229T-247T-317I. With the significantly improved oxidative stability and catalytic efficiency, the mutant M145I-214A-229T-247T-317I has a great potential as a detergent additive, and this structure-guided systems engineering strategy may be useful for the protein engineering of the other microbial enzymes to fulfill industrial requirements.  相似文献

Two factors are mainly responsible for the stability of the DNA double helix: base pairing between complementary strands and stacking between adjacent bases. By studying DNA molecules with solitary nicks and gaps we measure temperature and salt dependence of the stacking free energy of the DNA double helix. For the first time, DNA stacking parameters are obtained directly (without extrapolation) for temperatures from below room temperature to close to melting temperature. We also obtain DNA stacking parameters for different salt concentrations ranging from 15 to 100 mM Na+. From stacking parameters of individual contacts, we calculate base-stacking contribution to the stability of A•T- and G•C-containing DNA polymers. We find that temperature and salt dependences of the stacking term fully determine the temperature and the salt dependence of DNA stability parameters. For all temperatures and salt concentrations employed in present study, base-stacking is the main stabilizing factor in the DNA double helix. A•T pairing is always destabilizing and G•C pairing contributes almost no stabilization. Base-stacking interaction dominates not only in the duplex overall stability but also significantly contributes into the dependence of the duplex stability on its sequence.  相似文献

Charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy (CXRS) based on a diagnostic neutral beam has been developed at the T-10 tokamak. The diagnostics allows one to measure the ion temperature profile in the cross section of the plasma column. In T-10 experiments, the measurement technique was adjusted and the elements of the CXRS diagnostics for ITER were tested. The used spectroscopic equipment makes it possible to reliably determine the ion temperature from the Doppler broadening of impurity lines (helium, carbon), as well as of the spectral lines of the working gas. The profiles of the plasma ion temperature in deuterium and helium discharges were measured at different plasma currents and densities, including with the use of active Doppler measurements of lines of different elements. The validity and reliability of ion temperature measurements performed by means of the developed CXRS diagnostics are analyzed.  相似文献

The kinematics and stability of the shoulder during in-vitro simulation are affected by the muscles chosen for simulation and their loads. Existing simulators have commonly actuated the rotator cuff and deltoids; however, the contribution of secondary muscles, such as those which form the conjoined tendon, are not well understood. The conjoined tendon consists of the origins of the short head of the biceps and coracobrachialis (SH&C), and is thought to produce an anterior stabilizing effect. This study investigated the effect of SH&C tension at four loading levels: 0, 5, 10, 15N. Our primary outcome variable was glenohumeral stiffness for anterior loading but internal/external rotation and extension ranges of motion were also measured. Four joint configurations were tested: adduction and 90° combined abduction, each in neutral and maximal external rotation. Increasing SH&C load resulted in a significant trend of increased glenohumeral stiffness across the average of all joint configurations (p=0.008). In abduction, neutral rotation differences were found between the stiffness at 10 and 15N compared to 0N (p=0.038 and 0.043, respectively); however, no differences were found for the three other joint configurations. There was a tendency for a decrease in the range of shoulder extension with increasing SH&C load, but this did not achieve significance (p=0.065). These findings demonstrate that the SH&C provides a stabilizing barrier effect, but only in configurations when it wraps directly anterior to the humeral head. Thus SH&C loading is likely critical to in-vitro simulation due to its effect on joint stability and kinematics.  相似文献

The effects of the trichothecene mycotoxins (acetyl T-2 toxin, T-2 toxin, HT-2 toxin, palmityl T-2 toxin, diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS), deoxynivalenol (DON), and T-2 tetraol) on bovine platelet function were examined in homologous plasma stimulated with platelet activating factor (PAF). The mycotoxins inhibited platelet function with the following order of potency: acetyl T-2 toxin > palmityl T-2 toxin = DAS > HT-2 toxin = T-2 toxin. While T-2 tetraol was completely ineffective as an inhibitor, DON exhibited minimal inhibitory activity at concentrations above 10×10?4M. The stability of the platelet aggregates formed was significantly reduced in all mycotoxin treated platelets compared to that of the untreated PAF controls. It is suggested that the increased sensitivity of PAF stimulated bovine platelets to the more lipophilic mycotoxins may be related to their more efficient partitioning into the platelet membrane compared to the more hydrophilic compounds.  相似文献

The local dispersion relation obtained for an inhomogeneous anisotropic high-pressure plasma in the Chew-Goldberger-Low approximation is used to qualitatively study small-scale MHD plasma instabilities in alternative magnetic configurations in which the plasma compressibility plays a significant stabilizing role. It is established that it is important to satisfy the Bernstein-Kadomtsev condition in order to reduce the growth rate of the quasi-flute oscillations. Moderate plasma anisotropy is shown not to have a substantial destabilizing effect on the MHD plasma stability under the Bernstein-Kadomtsev condition in alternative systems. The situation in which the electron compressibility vanishes while the ion compressibility is nonzero is discussed; it is shown that, in this situation, the Bernstein-Kadomtsev condition becomes more stringent as the longitudinal wavenumber increases.  相似文献

Physical mechanisms for destabilization of MHD perturbations by external quasistatic magnetic fields and rotating helical magnetic fields in a tokamak plasma are identified using a numerical model of tearing modes in a viscous high-temperature plasma. The critical conditions for the onset of MHD perturbations and their dynamic model are compared with the experimental results from the JET tokamak. The model is used to predict how the stray magnetic fields will influence plasma stability in a tokamak reactor (ITER). __________ Translated from Fizika Plazmy, Vol. 26, No. 8, 2000, pp. 675–682. It was shown that the thermal stability of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in human diploid cells is much higher than in human heteroploid cell lines HeLa and T-9. The purified enzymes from human diploid cells and from HeLa and T-9 cells possess similar thermal stabilities. Mixing of T-9 extracts with the purified enzyme preparations revealed that the non-stability factors of the dehydrogenase are present in the T-9 extracts. An addition of NADP- and NADPH-containing buffers and crystalline NADP to the heteroploid cell extracts stabilizes the enzyme. The thermal stability of the enzyme from "in vitro" cultivated human cells depends on the concentration of the coenzyme. It was also demonstrated that glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase stability in HeLa and T-9 extracts is the same at low concentrations of the coenzyme and after addition of crystalline NADP. However, at NADP concentration of 10(-3) M the enzyme stability in HeLa and T-9 extracts is different. It is assumed that the destabilizing factors are the enzymes possessing the nucleotidases activity, which is different in various cell lines.  相似文献

The influence of current density and pressure gradient profiles in the pedestal on the access to the regimes free from edge localized modes (ELMs) like quiescent H-mode in ITER is investigated. Using the simulator of MHD modes localized near plasma boundary based on the KINX code, calculations of the ELM stability were performed for the ITER plasma in scenarios 2 and 4 under variations of density and temperature profiles with the self-consistent bootstrap current in the pedestal. Low pressure gradient values at the separatrix, the same position of the density and temperature pedestals and high poloidal beta values facilitate reaching high current density in the pedestal and a potential transition into the regime with saturated large scale kink modes. New version of the localized MHD mode simulator allows one to compute the growth rates of ideal peeling-ballooning modes with different toroidal mode numbers and to determine the stability region taking into account diamagnetic stabilization. The edge stability diagrams computations and sensitivity studies of the stability limits to the value of diamagnetic frequency show that diamagnetic stabilization of the modes with high toroidal mode numbers can help to access the quiescent H-mode even with high plasma density but only with low pressure gradient values at the separatrix. The limiting pressure at the top of the pedestal increases for higher plasma density. With flat density profile the access to the quiescent H-mode is closed even with diamagnetic stabilization taken into account, while toroidal mode numbers of the most unstable peeling-ballooning mode decrease from n = 10?40 to n = 3?20.  相似文献

An improved confinement regime with an external transport barrier (H-mode) is obtained during electron-cyclotron resonance heating of a plasma in the T-10 tokamak. A characteristic feature of this regime is a spontaneous density growth accompanied by a drop in the intensity of Dα line and an increase in βp by a factor of ~1.6. The threshold power for the L-H transition is close to that predicted by the ITER scaling. The best characteristics of the H-mode are achieved with decreasing q L to 2.2. It is shown that the external transport barrier arises for electrons, whereas the heat transport barrier insignificantly contributes to improved confinement.  相似文献
