The list of the actions spent in the summer of 2005 in territory of the Tyumen region, in connection with a destruction of wild birds and poultry from the avian flu is submitted. Except for the quarantine and other sanitary-epidemic measures warning drift of a avian influenza virus in facilities, it is carried out of serological monitoring among workers of poultry-farming facilities and the population of the struck settlements on presence of antibodies to an influenza A (H5N1) virus. Taking into account ways of migration of a wild waterfowl in this territory, probability of contact to it and risk of infection of people, the conclusion about necessity of continuation the monitoring behind circulation of an avian influenza virus in region is made.  相似文献

今年在墨西哥暴发的流感疫情来源于一种新的流感病毒:甲型H1N1病毒.这种病毒包括人源,禽源和猪源等甲型流感病毒基因片段,为混合毒株.比较了禽、猪和人的流感病毒在其天然宿主中的致病机理,主要目的是评估猪和禽的流感病毒成为人兽共患病的可能性,同时还评估猪在禽流感病毒传入人的过程中可能起到的作用.禽流感和猪流感作为人畜共患疾病,在流感病毒从动物到人的传播过程中起到关键的作用.猪作为流感病毒的中间宿主,具有混合器作用,人、猪、禽流感病毒可在其体内进行基因重排产生新病毒,并可能跨越种间屏障感染人类.但是流感病毒本身的跨越种间障碍传播不足以引起人流感的大暴发,动物流感病毒必须经过显著的遗传变异后才能使其在人群中长期存在.  相似文献

Materials on the organization, the control and to coordination of actions of services in carrying out of actions on localization and liquidation of the centers of a mass destruction of birds and preventive measures of people diseases by avian flu during the period from July, 21 till September, 18, 2005 are submitted. The basic actions which have been carried out by a territorial department, the quarantine of poultry excluding contact with wild birds, depopulation of a sick and suspicious birds on disease and disinfection in the foci of a mass case, including installation disinfection barriers, etc. As a result of spent actions the bird's mass destruction has been stopped, quarantine is taken off 10.11.2005. The conclusion is made, that due to carrying out sanitary-preventive and antiepidemic measures it is possible not only to locate, but also completely to liquidate a mass destruction of birds.  相似文献

Results of the analysis registered avian flu epizootia are submitted. Diseases were registered as among wild birds, and poultry. From a biological material from a poultry and wild bird of some villages of Novosibirsk region the influenza virus type A (H5N1) is allocated. Carrying out sanitary and antiepidemic measures is organized. It is established, that disease and a mass destruction of poultry have taken place after contact to a wild bird on lakes. It is revealed, that the degree of distribution of a mass destruction of poultry on farmsteads in the struck territories depends on terms of carrying out of necessary measures on localization of the foci. Occurrence of new cases of disease among wild birds and poultry in 2006 as lakes in this territory are a place of nesting of the wild birds being the reservoir of the influenza virus is predicted.  相似文献

Waterfowl are the natural reservoir of all influenza A viruses, which are usually nonpathogenic in wild aquatic birds. However, in late 2002, outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza virus caused deaths among wild migratory birds and resident waterfowl, including ducks, in two Hong Kong parks. In February 2003, an avian H5N1 virus closely related to one of these viruses was isolated from two humans with acute respiratory distress, one of whom died. Antigenic analysis of the new avian isolates showed a reactivity pattern different from that of H5N1 viruses isolated in 1997 and 2001. This finding suggests that significant antigenic variation has recently occurred among H5N1 viruses. We inoculated mallards with antigenically different H5N1 influenza viruses isolated between 1997 and 2003. The new 2002 avian isolates caused systemic infection in the ducks, with high virus titers and pathology in multiple organs, particularly the brain. Ducks developed acute disease, including severe neurological dysfunction and death. Virus was also isolated at high titers from the birds' drinking water and from contact birds, demonstrating efficient transmission. In contrast, H5N1 isolates from 1997 and 2001 were not consistently transmitted efficiently among ducks and did not cause significant disease. Despite a high level of genomic homology, the human isolate showed striking biological differences from its avian homologue in a duck model. This is the first reported case of lethal influenza virus infection in wild aquatic birds since 1961.  相似文献

Throughout the world, populations of scavenger birds are declining rapidly with some populations already on the brink of extinction. Much of the current research into the factors contributing to these declines has focused on exposure to drug residues, lead, and other toxins. Despite increased monitoring of these declining populations, little is known about infectious diseases affecting scavenger bird species. To assess potential infectious disease risks to both obligate and facultative scavenger bird species, we performed a serosurvey for eleven potential pathogens in three species of scavenging birds in California: the California condor (Gymnogyps californianus), turkey vulture (Cathartes aura) and golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos). California condors were seropositive for avian adenovirus, infectious bronchitis virus, Mycoplasma gallisepticum, avian paramyxovirus-2, West Nile virus (WNV) and Toxoplasma gondii. Golden eagles were seropositive for avian adenovirus, Chlamydophila psittaci and Toxoplasma gondii, and turkey vultures were seropositive for avian adenovirus, Chlamydophila psittaci, avian paramyxovirus-1, Toxoplasma gondii and WNV. Risk factor analyses indicated that rearing site and original release location were significantly associated with a positive serologic titer to WNV among free-flying condors. This study provides preliminary baseline data on infectious disease exposure in these populations for aiding in early disease detection and provides potentially critical information for conservation of the endangered California condor as it continues to expand its range and encounter new infectious disease threats.  相似文献

Newcastle disease (ND) is one of the highly pathogenic viral diseases of avian species. The disease is endemic in many developing countries where agriculture serves as the primary source of national income. Newcastle disease virus (NDV) belongs to the family Paramyxoviridae and is well characterized member among the avian paramyxovirus serotypes. The failure of vaccination is one of the major causes of NDV outbreaks in field condition. The present study gives a brief picture about the biology of NDV genome and its proteins under different conditions of temperature and pH. Our results indicate that the NDV is non-infective above 42 °C and unstable above 72 °C. The study will be useful in defining an optimum storage condition for NDV without causing any deterioration in its viability.  相似文献

Pasteurella multocida, the cause of avian cholera, has naturally infected over 100 species of free-living birds. Among wild birds, avian cholera has its greatest impact on North American wildfowl. Epizootics usually are explosive in onset and may involve thousands of birds. The disease has been reported in every month of the year among wildfowl. Disproportionate mortality, with some species suffering proportionately greater mortality than others, has been a common feature of this disease. Presence of animal organic matter plays a significant role in the survival of P. multocida. There are conflicting reports or a lack of information on the role of host sex, age, body size, other physical features, genetic variation or behavioral differences, as predisposing factors to infection by P. multocida. There also are ambiguities on the relationship between season, precipitation, temperature, nutritional stress, water quality, other microorganisms, and environmental contaminants, and the occurrence of avian cholera in wildfowl. Two competing hypotheses for the year-round reservoir of wildfowl strains of P. multocida are ambient soil or water of enzootic sites, and carrier animals; most current evidence favors the role of carrier animals. Transmission most likely occurs by ingestion of contaminated water, inhalation of bacteria-rich aerosols, or both. While many techniques have been proposed to prevent or control avian cholera, none have been rigorously tested to determine their effectiveness.  相似文献

2005年全球暴发的禽流感疫情备受世界关注,候鸟带毒且野生水鸟是禽流感病毒的天然储库已被世界公认,我国野生动物疫源疫病监测工作已被提到重要议事日程.通过对2006~2008年监测数据的分析,发现北京市野生水鸟春季迁徙从2月下旬开始,4月初达到迁徙高峰;9月下旬开始秋季南迁,11月下旬达到迁徙高峰.并分别对北京地区雁鸭类、鹬鸻类、鹭类的迁徙规律进行了分析;根据北京的气候特点分析了野生水鸟的分布和迁徙特点;根据禽流感病毒与温度的关系,提出了北京的重点监测时期及物种.  相似文献

众多疫病病毒来源于野生动物,具有向人类传播的风险,尤其是具有飞翔能力的鸟类不易控制,所携带的病毒传播广泛,威胁人畜安全。因此,充分了解鸟类携带疫病情况以及鸟类迁徙路线中重点区域的疫病风险,对疫病防控非常重要。本文总结了鸟类主要携带的病原类型,如冠状病毒、流感病毒、寄生虫和新城疫病毒等。着重探讨鸟类携带病原对生物安全防范重点区域的人员和动物的疫病风险,包括自然保护区、机场和禽类养殖场等,并从加强候鸟迁徙的动态监测、加强栖息地检疫和保护、家禽定期疫苗接种等方面提出疫病防范措施。  相似文献

In April 2009, a novel influenza A subtype H1N1 triple reassortant virus (novel H1N1 2009), composed of genes from swine, avian, and human influenza A viruses, emerged in humans in the United States and Mexico and spread person-to-person around the world to become the first influenza pandemic of the 21st century. The virus is believed to have emerged from a reassortment event involving a swine virus some time in the past 10 to 20 years, but pigs, pork, and pork products have not been involved with infection or spread of the virus to or among people. Because countries quickly implemented recently developed pandemic influenza plans, the disease was detected and reported and public health authorities instituted control measures in a timely fashion. But the news media's unfortunate and inappropriate naming of the disease as the "swine flu" led to a drop in the demand for pork and several countries banned pork imports from affected countries, resulting in serious negative economic impacts on the pork industry. With the continual circulation and interspecies transmission of human, swine, and avian influenza viruses in countries around the world, there are calls for strengthening influenza surveillance in pigs, birds, and other animals to aid in monitoring and assessing the risk of future pandemic virus emergence involving different species. We identify and discuss several lessons to be learned from pandemic H1N1 2009 from a One Health perspective, as stronger collaboration among human, animal, and environmental health sectors is necessary to more effectively prevent or detect and respond to influenza pandemics and thus improve human, animal, and environmental health and well-being.  相似文献

The past few years have seen a noticeable increase in the emergence of infectious diseases in wildlife, especially vector-borne diseases, presenting a challenge for the conservation of endangered species. One such vector-borne disease, avian malaria (Plasmodium spp.) is on the rise in New Zealand avifauna, threatening bird populations that are among the most extinction-prone in the world. Furthermore, recent reports have outlined an increase in deaths of native iconic bird species specifically due to this disease. In order to help manage breakouts of this pathogen at a local scale, we need a better understanding of potential drivers of the emergence of avian malaria in wild New Zealand avifauna. Here, we set to test the role of climatic drivers in synchronizing contacts between avian hosts and vectors, assess the temporal stability of transmission dynamics between years, and determine the role of introduced species in causing spill-over of this pathogen towards native species. Our study focused on three sites that were sampled regularly during two consecutive years in the austral summer, each site being adjacent to a breeding colony of Yellow-eyed penguins (Megadyptes antipodes). Our results reveal an overall temporal stability of avian malaria incidence patterns, with a decrease in infection throughout the austral summer for both sampled years. Moreover, we highlight a phylogenetic signal among sampled bird species, with introduced species being more heavily infected by avian malaria than their native counterparts. In contrast, we found no effect of the two climatic drivers investigated, temperature and rainfall, on mosquito abundance. Our results suggest a strong effect of alien species acting as reservoirs for diseases spilling-over towards immunologically naïve species, and provide conservation managers with a critical timeframe to control avian malaria breakouts.  相似文献

Human infections with H5, H7, and H9 avian influenza viruses are well documented. Exposure to poultry is the most important risk factor for humans becoming infected with these viruses. Data on human infection with other low pathogenicity avian influenza viruses is sparse but suggests that such infections may occur. Lebanon is a Mediterranean country lying under two major migratory birds flyways and is home to many wild and domestic bird species. Previous reports from this country demonstrated that low pathogenicity avian influenza viruses are in circulation but highly pathogenic H5N1 viruses were not reported. In order to study the extent of human infection with avian influenza viruses in Lebanon, we carried out a seroprevalence cross-sectional study into which 200 poultry-exposed individuals and 50 non-exposed controls were enrolled. We obtained their sera and tested it for the presence of antibodies against avian influenza viruses types H4 through H16 and used a questionnaire to collect exposure data. Our microneutralization assay results suggested that backyard poultry growers may have been previously infected with H4 and H11 avian influenza viruses. We confirmed these results by using a horse red blood cells hemagglutination inhibition assay. Our data also showed that farmers with antibodies against each virus type clustered in a small geographic area suggesting that unrecognized outbreaks among birds may have led to these human infections. In conclusion, this study suggests that occupational exposure to chicken is a risk factor for infection with avian influenza especially among backyard growers and that H4 and H11 influenza viruses may possess the ability to cross the species barrier to infect humans.  相似文献

Over the last 20 years, Australian white ibis populations (Threskiornis molucca) have expanded into urban areas, leading to increased contact between ibis, domestic animals, and humans. This has led to concern that ibis may transmit pathogens that threaten public health or food production. Here we report results from a study of ibis viral serology and bacterial culture that indicate that ibis are hosts of zoonotic and livestock pathogens such as Salmonella spp., Newcastle disease virus, avian influenza virus, and flaviviruses in Australia. We also performed a behavioral study to measure contact rates among ibis, people, and livestock that determine the potential for disease transmission.  相似文献

Avian influenza is an infection caused by the H5N1 virus. The infection is highly contagious among birds, and only a few known cases of human avian influenza have been documented. However, healthcare experts around the world are concerned that mutation or genetic exchange with more commonly transmitted human influenza viruses could result in a pandemic of avian influenza. Their concern remains in spite of the fact that the first United States vaccine against the H5N1 virus was recently approved. Under these circumstances the fear is that a pandemic of avian influenza could result in the kind of mortality that was seen with the Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918–1919, where the number of deaths was estimated to be as high as 40 million people. Retrospective data gathered by the American Osteopathic Association shortly after the 1918–1919 influenza pandemic have suggested that osteopathic physicians (DOs), using their distinctive osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) methods, observed significantly lower morbidity and mortality among their patients as compared to those treated by allopathic physicians (MDs) with standard medical care available at the time. In light of the limited prevention and treatment options available, it seems logical that a preparedness plan for the treatment of avian influenza should include these OMT procedures, provided by DOs and other healthcare workers capable of being trained to perform these therapeutic interventions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the characteristics of avian influenza, describe the success of DOs during the 1918–1919 Spanish influenza pandemic, describe the evidence base for the inclusion of OMT as part of the preparedness plan for the treatment of avian influenza, and describe some of the specific OMT procedures that could be utilized as part of the treatment protocol for avian influenza patients.  相似文献

The epidemiological characteristic of avian flu among a wild waterfowl in Sargatsk region in 2005 is presented. The analysis of the climate-geographical characteristic of region and the data on migration and specific structure of a wild waterfowl, and also results of investigation of the facts of its destruction are submitted. Laboratory research with the PCR help has confirmed presence of influenza virus A (H5N1) at a wild birds. As a result of carried out in the period of epizootia in full preventive and antiepidemic measures, including quarantine contacts resulted in absence between a wild birds and poultry, with out of raid to the maintenance of poultry on farm-steads, etc., the mass destruction of poultry was absent. It is marked, that with a view of maintenance of epidemiological well-being in region high readiness for actions in conditions of an extreme situation, and also vaccination of the population should be kept.  相似文献

The spectral frequency ranges of song notes are important for recognition in avian species tested in the field. Frequency-range discriminations in both the field and laboratory require absolute pitch (AP). AP is the ability to perceive pitches without an external referent. The authors provided a network model designed to account for differences in AP among avian species and evaluated it against discriminative performance in eight-frequency-range laboratory tests of AP for five species of songbirds and two species of nonsongbirds. The model's sensory component describes the neural substrate of avian auditory perception, and its associative component handles learning of the discrimination. Using only two free parameters to describe the selectivity and the sensitivity of each species’ auditory sensory filters, the model provided highly accurate predictions of frequency-range discrimination in songbirds and in a parrot species, but performance and its prediction were less accurate in pigeons: the only species tested that does not learn its vocalizations. Here for the first time, the authors present a model that predicted individual species’ performance in frequency-range discriminations and predicted differences in discrimination among avian species with high accuracy.  相似文献

禽主要组织相容性复合体(Major histocompatibility complex,MHC)的结构与禽病防控、禽免疫学、禽类遗传学研究密切相关。文章对鸡、火鸡、鹌鹑、鸭和鹅的MHC结构方面的研究进展进行了综述,表明其有以下共同特点:都有保守的MHC区域,包括MHC I基因和MHC II基因及一些功能未知基因;基因排列简单而紧凑;MHC I基因内含子的长度都比哺乳动物小;鸡、火鸡、鸭和鹅的MHC I基因组序列都有8个外显子和7个内含子,MHC IIβ基因组序列都有6个外显子和5个内含子;鸡、火鸡和鹌鹑的BG基因结构模式相同;都存在微卫星重复单元。但也存在种属差异:鸡的MHC I基因和MHC II基因是双拷贝,而鸭、鹅和鹌鹑有若干个拷贝;BG基因的拷贝数及其外显子数目不同。对主要家禽MHC结构进行分析比较,将有利于对禽病学及禽免疫遗传学的进究。  相似文献

随着人们生活水平的不断提高,城市家庭饲养宠物日益增多,宠物已经成为人们日常生活中接触最多的动物。然而,许多宠物是人兽共患疾病的重要传染源,随着人类与各种动物间"零"距离的接触,各种宠物携带的人兽共患病也悄然传入人类,给人们身体健康和公共卫生安全带来了严重的威胁。近年来,许多学者对犬、猫、鸟、鼠和其他宠物易感的人兽共患病毒病开展了许多研究工作,本文对狂犬病、戊型肝炎、禽流感、淋巴细胞脉络膜脑膜炎、流行性出血热、西尼罗热等一些严重危害的宠物人兽共患病毒病进行了概述。  相似文献
