The chemical structure of another metabolic product (0-2) which was isolated from the culture filtrate of Oospora astringenes was studied. This compound irritates the skins and has the constrictive actions on the tracheal muscle of the guinea pigs. It has ketone and hydroxyl groups, and thereby has been named oosponol. From the results of the degradation experiments, oosponol is supposed to have the following structure (II).  相似文献

Investigation was made on the mycological properties of a species of Oospora which was isolated from the air of bronchial asthma patient’s room, Tokyo, Japan.

This species was considered to be a new one and named as Oospora astringenes nov. sp. On the malt extract glucose agar at room temperature, the colonies appear velvety, powdery and white. Conidia are ellipsoidal or cylindrical, mostly 7.0×4.3 µ in size, hyaline.

This new species utilizes only organic compounds as a sole source of nitrogen and its growth is markedly stimulated by the addition of some vitamins.  相似文献

Effects of skin spot (Oospora pustulans) on potatoes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
King Edward and Majestic seed potatoes selected as ‘clean’ (macroscopically symptomless), moderate and severe according to the extent of skin spot were planted in field experiments at Rothamsted between 1964 and 1968. Usually crops from ‘clean’ and moderately infected seed did not differ detectably in growth or yield. Plants from severely infected seed tubers emerged more slowly, had fewer stems and yielded less (King Edward 20 %, Majestic 13 %). Seed infection also affected tuber size distribution; severely infected seed of King Edward yielded almost 4 tons/acre less of 1 1/4-2 1/4 in tubers and Majestic, 1 ton/acre less of these and 2 tons/acre less 2 1/4-3 1/4 in tubers. However, the total yield from diseased seed stocks was only slightly less (King Edward, o-6 ton/acre and Majestic o-8 ton/acre) than the yields from the ‘clean’ tubers selected from them. Seed severely infected by Oospora pustulans often increased infection of the progeny tubers, and usually decreased their infection by Rhizoctonia solani and sometimes by Helmintho-sporium solani. Another series of experiments compared King Edward seed tubers classified according to the number of live eyes showing in March. Seed with one, two, three and more live eyes yielded equally. About half the tubers without live eyes in March eventually produced plants, but late, with few stems and giving only half the yield of seed with three or more live eyes. Surprisingly, the progeny tubers from seed without live eyes were least infected by O. pustulans, R. solani and H. solani. Progenies of King Edward and Majestic seed from a common source grown on seven widely separated farms were infected more in 1963 than in 1964, but in each year infection differed widely between farms. Often where O. pustulans was common, R. solani was scarce and vice versa. By contrast, when King Edward stocks very differently infected by O. pustulans were grown at Rothamsted their progenies were almost uniformly infected by O. pustulans and R. solani.  相似文献

A microorganism was isolated from the air of a patient-room and classified in the genus Oospora. This microorganism was cultured on a malt extract medium, and the mycellium was separated from the culture filtrate. A new compound (O-1), m.p. 129°C, C11H10O3, and eburicoic acid, m.p. 290°C, C31H50O3 were obtained from the dried mycellium. Another new compound (O-2), m.p. 176°C, C11H8O5 was obtained from the culture filtrate.  相似文献

The viability of freeze-dried Lactobacillus bulgaricus B-1 was affected by rehydration temperature, and maximum recovery of the viable cells was obtained when they were rehydrated at 20 to 25°C. Cellular ribonucleotides leaked out from the freeze-dried cells during rehydration, but there was no correlation between the viability of cells and the amount of leaked substances. Rehydration of the freeze-dried cells in the presence of RNase caused marked loss of viability. These results suggest that the cell surface was damaged by freeze-drying and its selective permeability was lost to some extent.  相似文献

Sulochrin oxidase is a blue copper-containing glycoenzyme that catalyzes a stereospecific formation of bisdechlorogeodin from sulochrin. The enzyme has been isolated from Penicillium frequentans and Oospora sulphureaochracea which catalyzes the formation of (+)-form and (-)-form of bisdechlorogeodin respectively. The Penicillium enzyme has a molecular weight of 157,000 and contains 19.5% of carbohydrates. Amino acid and carbohydrate compositions are given. The enzyme has probably a dimeric structure containing 6 Cu-atoms. Apparent K m-values of various substrates are presented. The Oospora enzyme has a molecular weight of 128,000 and except for its stereospecificity its properties are very similar to those of the Penicillium enzyme.  相似文献

The procedure of isolation and purification of lipases from the fungus Oospora lactis have been developed. The existence of two different lipases has been demonstrated, one of which (Mr = 43000) is localized in the periplasmic space and can be liberated into the external medium in an unchanged form, while the other (Mr = 40000) is tightly bound to the membranes and can be solubilized by detergent treatment. The most essential properties of the lipases are discussed and a detailed analysis of the functional and physicochemical properties of extracellular lipase is given.  相似文献

Underground stems and roots of the potato varieties King Edward and Majestic became more severely infected by Oospora pustulans (skin spot) as the growing season advanced. Tubers became infected at their initiation in June and July but the proportion of infected eyes usually increased during both the growth of the crop and bulk storage. Some buds on tubers in bulk stores died in December, but few were killed until after January, when attacks increased until by March about a quarter of Majestic eyes were usually dead. Boxing (chitting) not only prevented most eyes from dying but also prevented much skin spotting on tubers. At High Mowthorpe, Majestic seed unboxed or boxed in March yielded, respectively, 3 and 1 ton/acre less than seed boxed by January. Early boxing increased the yield of seed–sized tubers but did not affect the infection of progeny tubers. Dipping Majestic seed tubers in organo–mercurial fungicide and then boxing soon after lifting decreased their infection by O. pustulans; it also lessened infection on plants they produced and increased the yield of progeny seed–sized tubers. However, dipping, even in successive years, had little effect on the infection of progeny tubers by O. pustulans. Rhizoctonia solani and Helminihosporum atrovirens became increasingly prevalent on tubers during growth after July and during bulk storage. H. atrovirens was decreased by early boxing or dipping tubers in fungicide. Verticillate conidiophores often grew on incubated tuber plugs but their prevalence was affected by past storage. The results suggest that some of the benefit for chitting may be from disease control, it was not possible to measure the extent to which benefits from chitting depend on effects on disease or on the physiology of the tuber.  相似文献

Oospora lactis was found to use Tweens 20, 40, 60 and 80 as a source of carbon in a nutrient medium for lipase biosynthesis. The highest production of lipase was registered in the medium with Tween-80. The lipase activity of the culture increased if even small quantities of Tweens 40, 60 and, particularly, 80 (0.05--1.0%) were added to the medium containing cottonseed oil. All the tested Tweens stimulating the biosynthesis of lipase were also, at a particular concentration, the inhibitors of this enzyme.  相似文献

The effect of inorganic and organic nitrogen compounds on the synthesis of biomass and extracellular lipase by Oospora lactis was studied. Among the inorganic nitrogen sources ammonium sulphate and ammonium secondary phosphate and among the organic nitrogen sources yeast autolysate proved to be most beneficial for the lipase synthesis. Lipase activity and biomass accumulation in the medium containing yeast autolysate were greater than in the media containing the above ammonium salts. Lipase synthesis reached maximum in the nutrient medium containing yeast autolysate (0.7%) and ammonium sulphate (0.3%).  相似文献

A taxonomic review of the Korean Lymantria Hübner, 1819 was conducted. A total of nine species of five subgenera with two unrecorded species are listed: Lymantria (Porthetria) dispar Linnaeus 1758, L. (P.) xylina Swinhoe 1903, L. (Lymantria) monacha (Linnaeus 1758), L. (L.) minomonis Matsumura 1933 (new to Korea), L. (L.) similis monachoides Schintlimeister 2004 (new to Korea), L. (L.) lucescens (Butler 1881), L. (Nyctria) mathura Moore 1865, L. (Collentria) fumida Butler 1877, and L. (Spinotria) bantaizana Matsumura 1933. Lymantria (Lymantria) minomonis and L. (L.) similis monachoides are newly added to the Korean fauna. Lymantria (L.) minomonis was found only on Bogildo Island of Jeollanam‐do in the southern part of Korea, and L. (L.) similis monachoides was collected in central Korea. Lymantria (Porthetria) xylina and L. (Collentria) fumida were not examined in this study, and it is considered that the previous records were due to misidentification or they are only distributed in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. We provide diagnoses of two unrecorded species and adult habitus and genitalia photos of the Korean Lymantria species.  相似文献

 For the angiosperm dominants of northern California’s mixed evergreen forests, this study compares the display of photosynthetic tissue within leaves and along branches, and examines the correspondence between these morphological attributes and the known environmental tolerances of these species. Measurements were made on both sun and shade saplings of six species: Arbutus m e n z i e s i i (Ericaceae), C h r y s o l e p i s c h r y s o p h y l l a (Fagaceae), L i t h o c a r p u s d e n s i f l o r u s (Fagaceae), Quercus c h r y s o l e p i s (Fagaceae), Quercus w i s l i z e n i i (Fagaceae), and Umbellularia c a l i f o r n i c a (Lauraceae). All species had sclerophyllous leaves with thick epidermal walls, but species differed in leaf specific weight, thickness of mesophyll tissues and in the presence of a hypodermis, crystals, secretory idioblasts, epicuticular deposits, and trichomes. The leaves of Arbutus were 2 – 5 times larger than those of C h r y s o l e p i s, L i t h o c a r p u s and Umbellularia and 4 – 10 times larger than those of both Quercus species. Together with differences in branch architecture, these leaf traits divide the species into groups corresponding to environmental tolerances. Shade-tolerant C h r y s o l e p i s, L i t h o c a r p u s, and Umbellularia had longer leaf lifespans and less palisade tissue, leaf area, and crown mass per volume than the intermediate to intolerant Arbutus and Quercus. Having smaller leaves, Quercus branches had more branch mass per leaf area and per palisade volume than other species, whereas Arbutus had less than other species. These differences in display of photosynthetic tissue should contribute to greater growth for Quercus relative to the other species under high light and limited water, for Arbutus under high light and water availability, and for C h r y s o l e p i s, L i t h o c a r p u s, and Umbellularia under limiting light levels.
