为了适应复杂多变的生存环境,微生物通常需要在保证基因组序列不变的前提下不断调整胞内代谢网络。表观调控可以在不改变DNA序列的情况下对基因表达进行调控,因此成为细菌中重要的调控方式。作为一种DNA修饰,DNA甲基化修饰是生物体中最常见的表观调控工具。在本文中我们全面、深入解析了两种孤儿甲基转移酶:DNA腺嘌呤甲基转移酶(DNA adenine methyltransferase,Dam)和细胞周期调控甲基转移酶(Cell cycle-regulated methyltransferase,Ccr M)在原核生物中的表观调控功能。我们主要探讨了DNA甲基化参与的细胞生理过程包括DNA复制起始、DNA错配修复、基因表达调控、致病性和相变异等方面。同时,我们结合三维基因组研究技术基因组结构捕获(Chromosome conformation capture,3C)技术和新型DNA磷硫酰化修饰讨论了该领域的发展前景。  相似文献

The development and progression of melanoma have been attributed to independent or combined genetic and epigenetic events. There has been remarkable progress in understanding melanoma pathogenesis in terms of genetic alterations. However, recent studies have revealed a complex involvement of epigenetic mechanisms in the regulation of gene expression, including methylation, chromatin modification and remodeling, and the diverse activities of non-coding RNAs. The roles of gene methylation and miRNAs have been relatively well studied in melanoma, but other studies have shown that changes in chromatin status and in the differential expression of long non-coding RNAs can lead to altered regulation of key genes. Taken together, they affect the functioning of signaling pathways that influence each other, intersect, and form networks in which local perturbations disturb the activity of the whole system. Here, we focus on how epigenetic events intertwine with these pathways and contribute to the molecular pathogenesis of melanoma.  相似文献

社交行为对于个体身心健康和社会发展都极其重要。社交行为障碍已成为多种精神类疾病的典型临床表征,对个体的发展有严重不良影响。前额叶皮层作为调节社交行为的关键脑区之一,参与了社交、情绪、决策等高级功能,其内部神经元、神经胶质细胞的活动变化及相互作用对调节社交行为有着重要影响,而且前额叶皮层与其他脑区之间的协作也会影响不同的社会行为。本文回顾了前额叶皮层中神经元、神经胶质细胞以及脑区投射与社交行为关系的最新研究,系统综述了前额叶皮层在社交行为调节中的作用,以期为社交障碍的神经机制和有效诊疗提供参考。  相似文献

Males and females of many species sex‐segregate, ranging from complete separation of habitats to social segregation within the same space, sometimes varying across seasons and lifespan development. Mechanisms for such segregation are not well understood, though some have suggested that sex differences in preferred juvenile behaviors lead to greater behavioral compatibility within than between sexes. This within‐sex behavioral compatibility may be the source of sex‐segregation. As juvenile behavioral sex differences are well‐documented in rhesus monkeys, we examined sex‐segregation patterns of yearling rhesus monkeys engaged in three different types of behavior: rough play, parallel play, and grooming. We observed male and female rhesus yearlings from five stable long‐term age‐graded social groups of 67–183 animals. Behavioral observations were designed to collect equal numbers of rough play, grooming, and parallel play bouts. In addition, sex composition and proximity to adults was recorded for each bout. Across all behaviors, more all‐male groups and fewer mixed sex‐groups were observed than expected by chance. All‐female groups occurred at the level expected by chance. Thus, males sex‐segregated regardless of type of behavior, while females did not sex‐segregate. Female groups were observed in proximity to adults more often than expected by chance. These results suggest that behavioral compatibility may produce sex‐segregation in male yearling rhesus monkeys, possibly preparing males and females for different social roles and segregation as adults. Field observations and experiments revealed that construction behavior of Metapolybia wasps is based on parallel processing and distributed decision making. Sixteen behaviors were used to separate five behavioral groupings: specialized water forager, flexible pulpforager, active builder, active generalist, and idle. The idle category proved to be the source and the sink of the other task groups, although specialist foragers tend to retain their duties or take over other active roles. Nest construction is partitioned into three tasks. Pulp foragers transfer wood-pulp to the nest where other wasps (builders) distribute and process it further. The builders incorporate this material into the nest structure on the basis of individual decisions. Water foragers provide the extra water necessary for both building and pulp collecting. Material exchange takes place on the nest between pairs or in small groups. The duration and frequency of different behaviors, the number of wasps belonging to different behavioral groups, and the different scale of specialization in different groups suggest that the colony-level performance and speed are governed by the activity of the pulp foragers, who receive information about both the water saturation level of the colony and the activity of the builders through local interactions. Several predictions of this hypothesis were supported by disturbing the normal construction behavior through removing or decreasing the number of individuals belonging to different behavioral groups or supplying additional building material.  相似文献

I conducted a longitudinal study of hormones and social behavior during pregnancy in 8 female pig-tailed macaques (Macaca nemestrina) living in a captive social group. Females exhibited reduced grooming activity after the first month of pregnancy and reduced aggressiveness in the last month. Female-male hindquarter presentations and male-female foot-clasp mounts decreased steadily during pregnancy. The week before parturition was associated with lower involvement in all social activities. Monthly changes in plasma concentrations of estradiol and progesterone are correlated with some changes in sexual behavior and grooming performed by pregnant females. Altogether, the findings suggest that pregnancy does not bring about a major disruption of female social relationships with other group members and that the influence of pregnancy hormones on female affiliative and agonistic behavior is less marked than that previously observed for infant-directed behavior.  相似文献

Socioecological theory predicts that aggressive feeding competition is associated with linear dominance hierarchies and reproductive advantages for high-ranking females. Female blue monkeys contest fruits and have a linear dominance hierarchy, yet previous research has shown no evidence that high-ranking females benefit from greater feeding success or fertility. Here, we assess whether individuals differ in fecal glucocorticoid (fGC) excretion and examine proximate determinants of such differences to infer potential fitness correlates of rank, using data collected from two study groups in the Kakamega Forest, Kenya. We found that higher ranking females had preferential access to fruits in both groups, although the behavioral mechanisms leading to this effect varied between groups. Despite a consistent rank difference in feeding on fruits, an overall rank effect on fGCs emerged in only one group; females of this group spent comparatively more time feeding on fruits, fruits accounted for a greater proportion of the diet, and females engaged in more frequent food-related agonism. In addition, more females in this group were lactating during a period of low fruit availability, when rank effects on fGCs were particularly strong. Regardless of fruit availability, among lactating females of both groups higher rank was associated with lower fGC levels, indicating lower energetic stress in higher ranking females when energy demands were particularly high. Individual rates of agonism, a potential psychological stressor, were unrelated to fGCs at all times. After we accounted for rates of agonism and feeding on fruits, females of one group who groomed others more had lower fGCs, suggesting that variable social coping behavior can contribute to fGC variation in some groups. This study provides the first empirical evidence that high-ranking female blue monkeys may obtain fitness benefits from their social status, by gaining priority of access to fruits during critical times in the reproductive cycle.  相似文献
