Genetic analysis of resistance to the inhibitory effects of UV radiation on growth of rice ( Oryza sativa L.) cultivars was carried out. Some experimental plants were grown in visible radiation supplemented with UV radiation containing a large amount of UV-B and a small amount of UV-C in a phytotron, while others were grown without UV radiation. The degree of resistance to UV radiation was estimated in terms of the degree of reduction caused by supplemental UV radiation in the fresh weight of the aboveground plant parts and the chlorophyll content per unit fresh weight. Fresh weight and chlorophyll content in F2 plants generated by reciprocally crossing cv. Sasanishiki, a cultivar more resistant to UV radiation, and Norin 1, a cultivar less resistant to such radiation exhibited a normal frequency distribution. The heritabilities of these two properties in F2 plants were low under conditions of non-supplemental UV radiation. Under elevated UV radiation, the F2 population shifted to the lower range of fresh weight and chlorophyll content, and the means were close to those of Norin 1. The heritabilities of these two properties were the same in the reciprocal crosses, indicating that maternal inheritance was not involved. Inheritance of chlorophyll content per unit fresh weight was further determined in F3 lines generated by self-fertilizing F2 plants of Sasanishiki and Norin 1. The results showed that the F3 population was segregated into three genotypes, namely, resistant homozygotes, segregated heterozygotes and sensitive homozygotes, with a ratio of 1:65:16.
It was thus evident that the resistance to the inhibitory effect of elevated UV radiation in these rice plants was controlled by recessive polygenes.  相似文献

Abstract: The effects of solar ultraviolet radiation (UV) on carbon uptake, oxygen evolution and motility of marine phytoplankton were investigated in coastal waters at Kristineberg Marine Research Station on the west coast of Sweden (58° 30'N, 11° 30'E). The mean irradiances at noon above the water surface during the investigation period were: photosynthetic active radiation (PAR, 400–700 nm) 1670 μmol m−2 s−1; ultraviolet-A radiation (UV-A, 320–400 nm) 35.9 W m−2 and ultraviolet-B radiation (UV-B, 280–320 nm) 1.7 W m−2. UV-B radiation was much more attenuated with depth in the water column than were PAR and UV-A radiation. UV-B radiation could not be detected at depths greater than 100–150 cm. Inhibition of carbon uptake by UV-A and UV-B in natural phytoplankton populations was greatest at 50 cm depth and the effects of UV-B were greater than those of UV-A. At depths greater than 50 cm there was almost no effect of ultraviolet radiation on carbon uptake. PAR, UV-A and UV-B decreased oxygen evolution by the dinoflagellate Prorocentrum minimum . Inhibition of oxygen evolution was greater after 4 h than 2 h but it was not possible to distinguish the negative effects of the different light regimes. The motility of P. minimum was not affected by PAR, UV-A and UV-B. The importance of exposure of phytoplankton to different light regimes before being exposed to natural solar radiation is discussed.  相似文献

地表辐射对研究地表能量平衡及气候形成机制具有重要意义。利用中天山乌拉斯台地区陆气相互作用观测站2018年5月至2019年4月地表辐射数据,分析了中天山草地不同时间尺度和不同天气条件下的地表辐射与反照率变化特征。结果表明:(1)地表辐射月平均日变化除大气长波辐射较弱外,其余分量均呈单峰型,极值大小及时间存在差异,太阳总辐射与净辐射最大日峰值均出现在6月,为920.9与603.3 W/m~2,大气与地表长波辐射分别出现在7月和8月,为327.5 W/m~2与471.7 W/m~2,而反射短波辐射则出现在2月,为520.6 W/m~2。(2)太阳总辐射、反射短波辐射、大气与地表长波辐射年曝辐量分别为6860.62、2101.72、7171.25、10089.69 MJ/m~2;就季节变化而言,反射短波辐射曝辐量在冬季明显高于其它季节,其它分量则均表现为夏季>春季>秋季>冬季。(3)不同月份地表反照率日变化均呈“U”型曲线,年均值为0.393,最大与最小月均值分别出现在12月与8月,为0.760与0.217。这种变化体现在季节上则为冬季>秋季>春季>夏季。(...  相似文献

Relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of gamma-neutron radiation with neutron energy of 0.9 MeV was estimated with a reference to rat death. It was shown that RBE of gamma-neutron radiation (the share of neutrons was 67% as related to dose) at LD33/30 and LD100/30 was 2, and RBE of 0.9 MeV neutrons, in experiments with mixed radiation, was 3.1 and 2.86 at LD33/30 and LD100/30, respectively. The value of a maximum dose at which death was not registered during 30 days, was 1 Gy with gamma-neutron radiation and 4 Gy with X-radiation.  相似文献

1. 1. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of thermal radiation and wind on thermal responses at rest and during exercise in a cold environment.

2. 2. The experimental conditions were radiation and wind (R + W), no radiation and wind (W), radiation and no wind (R), no radiation and no wind (C).

3. 3. The air temperature was −5°C. Thermal radiation was 360 W/m2. Air velocities were 0.76, 1.73 and 2.8 m/s. Rectal and skin temperatures, heart rate and oxygen consumption were recorded. Thermal and comfort sensations were questioned.

4. 4. There are no significant effects of thermal radiation and wind on the physiological responses except the mean skin temperature. There are significant effects on the mean skin temperature (P < 0.01) and thermal sensation (P < 0.05).

Using quartz optical fibres, penetration of both monochromatic (310 nm) and polychromatic UV-B (280–320 nm) radiation in leaves of Brassica napus L. (cv. Ceres) was measured. Plants were grown under either visible light (750 μmol m−2 s−1 photosynthetically active radiation) or with the addition of 8. 9 KJ m−2 day−1 biologically effective UV-B (UV-BBE) radiation. Results showed that of the 310 nm radiation that penetreated the leaf, 90% was within the intial one third of the leaf with high attenuation in the leaf epidermis, especially in UV-treated plants. Polychromatic UV-B radiation, relative to incident radiation, showed a relatively uniform spectral distribution within the leaf, except for collimated radiation. Over 30% of the UV-screening pigments in the leaf, including flavonoids, were found in the adaxial epidermal layer, making this layer less transparent to UV-B radiation than the abaxial epidermis, which contained less than 12% of the UV-screening pigments. UV-screening pigments increased by 20% in UV-treated leaves relative to control leaves. Densely arranged epicuticular wax on the adaxial leaf surface of UV-treated plants may have further decreased penetration of UV-B radiation by reflectance. An increased leaf thickness, and decreases in leaf area and leaf dry weight were also found for UV-treated plants.  相似文献

A depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer would result in an increased UV-B radiation, which could have harmful effects on marine organisms. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of an enhanced UV-B radiation (280–320 nin) on the motility and growth in four Swedish phytoplanklon species. The different plankton species were exposed to different doses of UV-B radiation during growth. The growth of the motile dinoflagellates, Gyronidium aureolum Hulburt (Ba 6), and Prorocentrum minimum (Pav.) P. Schiller (Ba 12), was more sensitive to UV-B radiation than the non-motile diatoms Dityhim brightwellii (P. West) Grun (Ba 15) and Phaeodactylum tricornutum Bohlin (Ba 16). One week of UV-B radiation 2 h daily (159 J m−2 day−1), had a dramatic effect on the growth of the dinoflagellates, while the diatoms were nearly unaffected. On the other hand, when given higher intensity of UV-B radiation (312, 468 and 624 J m−2 day−1) during the initial phase of growth, also the growth of the diatom, D. brightwellii, was inhibited. Not only the growth but also the swimming speed of the dinoflagellates C. aureolum and P. minimum were affected by UV-B radiation. The speed decreased rapidly after 1–2 h of UV-B radiation (312 J m−2 day−1), and after longer irradiation times the dinoflagellates lost their motility. Broad-band radiation from a high-pressure Hg-vapor lamp, including ultraviolet wavelengths from 290 to 400 nm, blue, green and red wavelengths, did not induce the synthesis of H2O2 in cultured rose cells. This was in contrast to the effects of shortwave (254 nm) ultraviolet radiation, even though, like shortwave ultraviolet radiation, the UV-B component of the broadband radiation induced a striking K+ efflux from the cells, and this efflux has been associated with H2O2 synthesis in a previous report. The UV-A and visible wavelengths were shown to inhibit the synthesis of H2O2. This effect was associated with inhibition of peroxidase, an enzyme reported to be involved in the synthesis of H2O2 in cell walls. UV-B radiation inhibited the alternate pathway for mitochondrial electron transport, but there was no evidence that this effect contributed to the inhibition of H2O2 synthesis in cells treated with broad-band radiation.  相似文献

以哥伦比亚野生型拟南芥(Arabidopsis thaliana)为实验材料, 用辐射功率为16.67 μW·cm-2但不同时间(0.5、1、1.5、2、2.5和3小时)的UV-B辐射对拟南芥幼苗进行处理, 观察叶片形态, 并测定其根长、叶绿素含量、可溶性蛋白含量、丙二醛(MDA)浓度、超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)和过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性及叶绿素荧光参数。结果显示, 短时间UV-B辐射可促进拟南芥根的伸长, 叶绿素和可溶性蛋白含量升高; 长时间UV-B辐射则抑制拟南芥根的生长, 使叶绿素含量、可溶性蛋白含量、叶绿素荧光参数Fv/Fm及qP逐渐降低, MDA浓度、SOD活性、CAT活性和qN值升高, 并随着时间的延长逐渐降低或升高。当辐射功率为16.67 μW·cm-2时, 其最佳辐射时间为1.5小时。UV-B辐射作为一种环境胁迫, 其胁迫程度都是在一定的范围内, 当胁迫达到极限时, 植株都会对UV-B辐射产生一定的适应效应而使损伤降低。  相似文献

【目的】探明高强度和低强度紫外辐射不同持续时间处理对麦长管蚜Sitobion avenae (Fabricius)生长发育和繁殖的影响, 以及强度与持续时间之间的交互作用。【方法】不同强度(0.20 mW/cm2, 0.75 mW/cm2)、不同持续时间(3 h, 9 h和15 h)的UV-B处理后, 采用编制特定年龄生命表和测量麦长管蚜体重方法, 统计相对日均体重增长率(mean relative growth rate, MRGR)、生命表种群参数、繁殖参数以及存活率和繁殖率的变化。【结果】生命表数据表明, 在同一辐射持续时间下, 麦长管蚜种群内禀增长率rm、净增殖率R0、繁殖力F随紫外强度增加而显著(P<0.05)下降, 短时间内死亡率升高, 繁殖率降低; 在同一紫外强度下, 麦长管蚜的rm, R0和F也随处理时间延长而显著降低, 存活率下降最快时期提前, 繁殖率降低; 紫外强度和持续时间两因素的影响具有极显著(P<0.01)的交互作用, 但在短时间(3 h)、低强度(0.20 mW/cm2)的处理中, 麦蚜的rm, R0和F却高于无紫外辐射组(对照)。MRGR数据表明, 高强度(0.75 mW/cm2)、长时间(15 h)紫外辐射处理下麦长管蚜MRGR显著降低, 但低强度、相对短时间(3 h和9 h)紫外辐射处理下的MRGR间均无显著性差异。随辐射强度和持续时间增加, 发育为成蚜时有翅蚜所占比例增大。【结论】麦长管蚜的生长发育和繁殖受到紫外UV-B胁迫的影响, 且随着紫外强度和持续时间的不同而产生相应变化, 强度和持续时间影响具有交互效应。  相似文献

电磁辐射对大鼠海马Raf/MEK/ERK信号通路的影响   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
目的:研究电磁辐射后大鼠海马Raf/MEK/ERK通路相关信号分子的表达变化规律。探讨辐射损伤机制。方法:分别采用X波段高功率微波(X-HPM)、S波段高功率微波(S-HPM)及电磁脉冲(EMP)模拟源辐射大鼠,建立电磁辐射动物模型。通过Western blot检测海马Raf-1、磷酸化Raf-1和磷酸化ERK的表达。结果:三种电磁辐射后6h-14d,Raf-1表达均下调,以7d最为显著,至28d基本恢复,辐射组间未见明显差异。辐射后6h和7d,磷酸化Raf-1和磷酸化ERK表达均上调,6h较为明显,磷酸化ERK的变化以两微波组更为显著。S-HPM辐射后6h~14d,磷酸化Raf-1表达持续上调,磷酸化ERK的变化呈波浪状,以6h和3d为高峰。结论:Raf/MEK/ERK信号通路参与了电磁辐射所致海马损伤;ERK通路过度活化导致神经元凋亡与坏死可能是电磁辐射致认知功能障碍的重要机制。  相似文献

Whether natural radiation can be a conditioning factor for the growth and survival of a living organism was investigated using diploid yeast S. cerevisiae D7. Yeast cells were conditioned by growing them continuously for at least 100 generation in 3 different radiation background such as i) ambient radiation (1.1 mSv/y), ii) sub-ambient radiation (0.44 mSv/y, within a shielded chamber) and iii) an elevated background radiation (88 and 880 mSv/y in a gamma-field). At the end, the cells were challenged with 60Co gamma, 100 Gy and the viable fractions were determined. Conditioning the cells in 880 mSv/y and in ambient radiation, enabled the cells to reduce the deleterious effect of the challenging dose significantly (P < 0.05) compared to that of sub-ambient radiation. The cellular viability of yeast cultures seems to be influenced by the prevailing radiation background, apart from starvation. Comparatively, a rapid decline in viability was noticed when the cultures were incubated for 60 days in the shielded chamber. The results indicate that some amount of radiation equivalent to background level or little above is needed to confer fitness in biological systems against stress factors, including radiation. The adaptive dose for the diploid yeast was also determined by single exposure. The priming dose ranged from 0.01 to 1.2 Gy. An adaptive dose of 0.25 or 0.4 Gy, almost nullified the deleterious effect of the challenging dose. The adaptive response may have a greater role in the field of cancer therapy and in radiation risk assessment. Understanding the response of an organism at different radiation-background will be helpful for successful space management.  相似文献

分别采用5mJ·s^-1·mm^-2He-Ne激光辐照、10.08kJ·m·^-2,d^-1增强UV-B辐射及二者组合对小麦(Triticum aestivum)晋麦8号(Triticum aestivum‘Jinmai8’)幼苗进行处理。第5天开始测定各处理小麦幼苗叶片中线粒体、叶绿体及细胞溶质中Na^+/K^+-ATP酶活性的变化。结果表明,随着处理天数的增加,小麦幼苗叶片线粒体、叶绿体及细胞溶质中Na^+/K^+-ATP酶活性均在第6天下降,第7天升高,而后又逐渐下降。在处理的第7天,仅He—Ne激光辐照可使小麦幼苗叶片线粒体、叶绿体及细胞溶质中Na^+/K^+-ATP酶活性升高:增强UV-B辐射使各细胞器中Na^+/K^+-ATP酶活性下降:复合处理后小麦各细胞器中Na^+/K^+-ATP酶活性均高于UV-B单独辐射处理。实验结果表明,一定剂量的He-Ne激光辐照能够部分修复UV-B辐射对小麦幼苗细胞器中Na^+/K^+-ATP酶造成的损伤。  相似文献

在UV-B辐照增强条件下,研究不同辐照梯度对芦苇光合特性、光合色素含量及叶绿体超微结构的影响. 结果表明: 与自然光照相比,UV-B辐照增强显著降低芦苇叶片净光合速率、气孔导度、蒸腾速率,且随辐照强度增大,降低程度加剧,胞间CO2浓度升高,光合效率显著降低;与自然光照相比,UV-B辐照增强显著降低芦苇叶片光合色素含量(包括叶绿素a、叶绿素b、总叶绿素和类胡萝卜素),且随辐照强度增大,降低程度加剧;UV-B辐射增强条件下,叶绿体超微结构遭到破坏,表现为叶绿体结构变形,类囊体片层排列稀疏紊乱、膨胀甚至模糊不清,并且UV-B辐射强度越大,损伤越大,高强度UV-B辐射对叶绿体超微结构的影响大于低强度辐射.  相似文献

本研究以龙血树柴胡(Bupleurum dracaenoides Huan C.Wang,Z.R.He&H.Sun)的种子为材料,采用不同温度、不同浓度赤霉素、不同化学试剂以及紫外线照射和微波辐射等方式处理后,统计其发芽率、发芽势、发芽指数和发芽时间等指标。结果表明:龙血树柴胡种子萌发最适温度为20℃;100 mg/L的GA3、0.5%的KMnO4和3%的H2O2处理均能促进其种子萌发,但不能使种子萌发和出苗时间提前;25 s微波辐射处理可大幅提高种子发芽率;紫外线照射处理种子0.5 h,萌发效果最佳,但随照射时间的延长对种子萌发则有不同程度的抑制。  相似文献

Net radiation balance for two forested slopes on opposite sides of a valley   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Measurements of the net radiation balance of two forested sites on the opposite slopes of a valley in south-western Germany, made over 3 years, are presented in this study. Radiation sensors were mounted horizontally on two measurement towers above two beech stands. The direct part of the measured short-wave incoming radiation was adjusted according to the slopes angle to convert horizontally measured radiation data into surface-parallel radiation fluxes. During periods when contemporaneous measurements of slope-parallel and horizontal radiation fluxes were available, the calculation of surface-parallel radiation fluxes from the horizontally recorded net radiation components were compared with measured values. The net radiative fluxes parallel to the slopes were calculated for a period of 36 months and analysed. Results show that the different aspects of both sites cause significant differences of the net radiation balance. In June, when the elevation of the sun is highest, incoming solar radiation K received on the NE-slope was 9% lower than K received on the SW-slope. During the winter months, the differences were much greater and incoming solar radiation to the NE-slope was 50% of that to the SW-slope. Due to the differing solar irradiance, net radiation fluxes were significantly higher on the SW-slope than on the NE-slope. For long-wave radiation only small differences between both slopes could be found. Since radiative fluxes determine the energy balance and hence the microclimate and water balance of a forest stand, these differences in the net radiation balance between the slopes are important for the vegetation.  相似文献

A survival model Eq.1 was presented for cells irradiated simultaneously with multiple types of radiation using the extended Zaider-Rossi model, which is model for mixed irradiation with two types of radiation. Eq.1 was proved by mathematical induction using the concept that mixed irradiation with n types of radiation is considered as mixed irradiation with two types of radiation regarding n-1 types as one type of radiation. The model is not limited by the dose rate of radiation, because its effect is corrected by reduction factor Eq.2. The problem of the model is that Eq.2 was led assuming repair function to be exponential given by Eq.3. tau(t)=exp(-t/t0) Eq.3. However, the repair function is usually expressed by biphasic Eq.4 rather than monophasic Eq.3. tau(t)=Aexp(-t/01)+(1-A)exp(-t/t02) Eq.4.
