Zusammenfassung Es wird ein neu isolierter, virulenterB. subtilis-Phage beschrieben. Die durch Phenol-Extraktion gewonnene DNA dieses Phagen ist infektiös für kompetente Zellen vonB. subtilis. Bedingungen, unter denen maximale Infektiosität dieser DNA vorliegt, wurden experimentell ermittelt. Einige Eigenschaften, in denen sich dieses System infektiöser Phagen-DNA von der Transformation von Bakteriengenen durch bakterielle DNA unterscheidet, werden diskutiert.

Aspergillus Gracilis Bainier var. Sartoryi (Biourge) Batista,Lima e Vital n. var. — Sua importáncia filogenética

Summary We deal with a new variety ofAspergillus which we callAspergillus gracilis Bainiervar. sartoryi (Biourge) Batista, Lima and Vital.This variety appears to be very important under the phylogenetic point of view, apparently being an intermediate form betweenAspergillus andPenicillium.Its morphology resemblesA. gracilis but the conidia characteristics are distinct; we took the epithetsartoryi fromA. sartoryi Biourge which was not described by the respective author.We suggest, too, the transfer of the seriesA. restrictus, where we put our new variety, from the groupA. glaucus, to become independant, as a connective series in the phylogenetic development betweenAspergillus andPenicillium, since the type of the series and the other elements that it embraces does not produce sclerotia or cleistothecia and the conidial apparatus offers curious similarity toPenicillium. Besides, some fungi of the series grow well in certain culture media, in complete discordance with the members of the groupA. glaucus.

A genetic analysis of linkage group I of Chlamydomonas reinhardi

Summary Crossing over in linkage group I ofChlamydomonas reinhardi was studied by means of the analysis of 1721 unordered tetrads. The data indicate that chiasma interference is positive, that chromatid interference is absent and that crossing over occurs at the 4-strand stage.

Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe der Analyse von 1721 ungeordneten Tetraden wurde das crossing-over in der Koppelungsgruppe I vonChlamydomonas reinhardi untersucht. Aus der Häufigkeit der verschiedenen Tetraden-Typen wird geschlossen, daß crossingover im Vierstrang-Stadium geschieht, und daß eine positive Chiasma-Interferenz existiert, während eine Chromatiden-Interferenz nicht vorkommt.

Polyploidisierung in der Fischfamilie Cyprinidae,Ordnung Cypriniformes

Zusammenfassung Die Fischfamilie der Cypriniden zeigt nach Chromosomenzahl und DNS-Gehalt/Zelle ein Diploid-Tetraploid-Verhältnis. Eine Duplikation der MDH-Isoenzyme läßt sich in der tetraploiden Gruppe nachweisen. Nur der tetraploide Cyprinus carpio hat ein Muster entsprechend der diploiden Gruppe.

Polyploidization in the fish family Cyprinidae Duplication of the gene loci for NAD-dependent malate dehydrogenase

Summary The fish family Cyprinidae can be classified into two groups, a diploid one and a tetraploid one, as shown by chromosome analysis and measurements of the DNA content per cell. Duplications of the MDH isoenzymes can be demonstrated in the tetraploid group with one exception: Cyprinus carpio reveals the diploid pattern.

Spermatophorenbau und samenübertragung bei uropygen (Mastigoproctus brasilianus C. L. Koch) und amblypygen (Charinus brasilianus Weygoldt und Admetus pumilio C. L. Koch) (Chelicerata,Arachnida)

The spermatophores of Amblypygi and Uropygi are complicated structurs and vary in different species. In Mastigoproctus, the size and shape of the spermatophores prevent bastardation between M. giganteus and M. brasilianus. Taxonomic and phylogenetical implications are discussed.

The larvae of Cerura vinula L. and Notodonta anceps Goeze secrete formic acid for defence. The glandular protective system which forms the acid and changes of the cell structure were studied with the light-microscope.
