The morphological variation and essential oil content of 150 individuals of motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) from six natural regions of Iran were examined biometrically based on multivariate analysis. The highest variation was observed in plant height, length of main stems, main inflorescence length, floral cycles of main stem, lateral branches length, basal leaf length, floral leaf length width, flower length, and calyx color. Results of simple correlation analysis showed the existence of significant positive and negative correlations among some important parameters. The highest correlation was observed between plant height and length of main stems and between lateral branch length and lower surface color of leaf. Populations were clustered in two groups representing subspecies cardiaca and persicus. The subspecies cardiaca populations were closely related with each other and differentiated from the subspecies persicus by pubescence stems and leaves, more number of floral cycles, higher compaction of floral cycles, lower number of lateral branches, shorter length of petioles and leaves and smaller floral leaves. Essential oil yields varied from 0.02 (for Taleghan population) to 0.053 mg/100 g dry mater (for Kerman population). The conservation of the highly diverse native populations of Iranian motherwort germplasm is recommended.  相似文献

本文研究了刺五加(Acanthopanax senticosus)丁香苷和总黄酮含量的季节变化。结果表明,丁香苷主要存在于茎干系统,其中在枝中的含量最高,平均含量可达2.94%。从季节动态来看,刺五加地上部分枝和茎中丁香苷的含量呈明显的季节变化,即春秋季含量较高,夏季含量较低;地下部分根和根茎中丁香苷含量的季节变化不明显。刺五加全株均含有总黄酮,刺五加地上部分总黄酮的含量呈明显的季节变化,其叶片总黄酮在5月中下旬林分郁闭之前含量最高,平均含量可达3.8%;茎干中总黄酮春季较高,夏季降低,而到晚秋时含量最高,其中枝中总黄酮平均含量可达3.75%。地下部分总黄酮含量的季节变化不十分明显。本文对丁香苷和总黄酮季节变化的原因进行了分析。  相似文献

筛选适宜河北省低平原地区种植的油菜品种,同时实现生态效益和经济效益,为相似气候区油菜品种的种植选择及种植结构的调整提供理论依据。以16个油菜品种为材料,对品种间农艺性状的变化进行方差分析、相关性分析和聚类分析。各品种间分枝部位存在差异,变异系数为61.82%,品种JR5分枝部位最低,14T×38最高;其次差异较为明显的是产量和二次分枝数,变异系数分别为26.69%和24.89%,14T×38产量最高,20SY-13最低。二次分枝数最大和最小的品种分别为20SY-13和天油142。油菜产量与一次分枝数和主花序角果数呈极显著正相关(P<0.01),株高与分枝部位、主花序长度和主花序角果数呈显著正相关关系,一次分枝数与主花序角果数呈显著正相关(P<0.05),二次分枝数与主花序角果数呈极显著负相关。当欧式距离为5时,16个油菜品种可分为五大类。选择株高较高、一次分枝数和主花序角果数较多、二次分枝数较少且可以在当地正常越冬的油菜品种进行种植,可以获得较高水平产量;20SY-13在当地秋季种植应注意安全越冬。  相似文献

The concentration of free amino acids and total nitrogen was studied in needles, stems and roots of seedlings of Pinus sylvestris L. for five weeks during the second growth period ("summer"). In one group of seedlings the source/sink relation was disturbed through removal of the terminal buds. The seedlings were cultivated in artificial year-cycles in a climate chamber.
Total nitrogen increased in needles and sterns of intact seedlings in the beginning of the "summer" and decreased during shoot growth. In seedlings, from which the buds had been removed, nitrogen remained at high levels in the primary needles and accumulated in steins and roots. The results are consistent with utilization of nitrogen in older needles and in the stem during shoot elongation.
The pool of free amino acids increased in the beginning of the "summer" and decreased after bud break in primary needles, stems and roots. Arginine and glutamine, in the roots also asparagine, were the dominating amino acids (amides included). Together, these compounds (plus glutamate and aspartate) contributed about 90% of the nitrogen in the amino acid pool in all organs. In primary needles and in the stem, arginine predominated at the end of hardening (75–85% of the amino acid nitrogen). Free amino acids contributed at most ca 10% of the total nitrogen in primary needles, where the ratio of free amino acid nitrogen: total nitrogen was highest at the end of dormancy and in the early "summer". Free amino acids accumulated after bud removal in primary needles and especially in stems and roots. Glutamine became relatively more dominant than arginine in the different organs.
The observations are consistent with the role of arginine and glutamine for storage and transport of nitrogen in conifers. Because of the low concentrations of amino acid nitrogen in the primary needles, arginine is not considered a major nitrogen reserve in needles of Scots pine seedlings.  相似文献

灌溉对沙拐枣幼苗生长及氮素利用的影响   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
采用盆栽试验,比较了5个灌溉梯度下(4.6、6.1、7.7、9.2、13.0 kg·株-1·次-1)沙拐枣幼苗氮素累积分配、利用和回收特征及其生长特性差异。结果表明:随灌溉量增加,沙拐枣幼苗整株氮素累积量和干物质量均显著增加,但在最高灌溉量下沙拐枣幼苗出现严重病害。生长旺季干物质和氮素主要分配在同化枝中,平均分别占总株的39.5%和66.1%,随灌溉量增加分配比例显著增加;季末茎和老枝是干物质和氮素的主要累积器官,平均分别占总株的54.7%和47.8%,分配比例也随灌溉量增加而显著增加。干旱条件下沙拐枣幼苗具有较高的根冠比,增加灌溉量后显著下降。生长旺季沙拐枣幼苗具有较高氮素回收效率,平均为64.4%,灌溉后明显增加;季末平均为58.1%,灌溉后有下降趋势。在两个生长季平均氮素利用效率分别为120.5和235.8g/g,增加灌溉量虽可提高植物氮素利用效率,但在最高灌溉量下氮素利用效率出现降低。由此可见,沙拐枣幼苗物质分配特征具有明显的季节性和可塑性,灌溉量过高和过低都不利于沙拐枣幼苗生长及氮素回收和利用效率的提高,因此中等灌溉量(7.7—9.2 kg·株-1·次-1)更有利于其生长及自身特性发挥。  相似文献

While the axes of branched axillary inflorescences seen in most species ofClematis show fundamentally the same features in nodal vasculature as the vegetative stems, those of simple axillary inflorescences, having only a pair of opposite sterile bracts at specific positions, exhibit an exclusive feature in nodal vasculature because they have entirely lost lateral branches or buds in the bract axils. Noticeably, at the nodal level of the axis of the simple inflorescence ofC. japonica andC. Williamsii, trace bundles to the missing lateral branches are formed and extend unaltered beyond the node. Thus, in these two species stelar bundles in the inflorescence axis generally increase in number upwardly from six to eight or more through the node with sterile bracts. On the basis of both anatomical and morphological data, a probable evolutionary trend in floral shoots with simple axillary inflorescences is proposed. The type of floral shoot ofC. tosaensis bearing simple, scale-subtended and basally fascicled inflorescences is the most primitive and constitutes an initial phase of evolution, and progressive changes in a kind of inflorescence-subtending leaves as well as in the shape and position of the sterile bracts resulting in the type of floral shoot ofC. japonica and further in that ofC. obvallata. A floral shoot ofC. Williamsii follows another line of evolution from an ancestral type similar to that ofC. tosaensis.  相似文献

The quantitative distribution of the flavanone-7-neohesperidoside, naringin, in seeds, seedlings, young plants, branches, flowers, and fruit of Citrus paradisi Macfad., cv `Duncan' was analyzed by radioimmunoassay. High levels of naringin were associated with very young tissue and lower levels were found in older tissues. Seed coats of ungerminated seeds and young shoots had high naringin concentrations whereas cotyledons and roots had very low concentrations. Light-grown seedlings contained nearly twice as much naringin as etiolated seedlings and, in young plants and branches, the naringin content was highest in developing leaves and stem tissue. In flowers, the ovary had the highest levels of naringin, accounting for nearly 11% of the fresh weight. There was a net increase in the total naringin content of fruits during growth. However, due to the large increase in fruit size, there was a concomitant decrease in the naringin concentration as the fruit matured.  相似文献

Prolactin was determined by radioimmunoassay in the peripheral plasma of five post-pubertal Large White gilts before and after olfactory bulbectomy. In the oestrous cycle before bulbectomy and in cycles after bulbectomy, the highest concentrations of prolactin were found during the period from the late luteal phase to oestrus. Throughout the prolonged summer anoestrus which occurred after bulbectomy, the amounts of prolactin were similar to base-line quantities found during the oestrous cycle between Days 3 and 12. These results differ from those found for the seasonally breeding European wild sow where high prolactin levels are associated with a summer anoestrus.  相似文献

为了提高株型较高的毛子草 (Incarvilleaarguta)和半藤本性状的毛茛铁线莲 (Clematisranuncu loides)的观赏价值 ,我们用多效唑、矮壮素和丁酰肼对它们进行了多种矮化处理。试验结果表明每盆用 0 .4g5 0 %多效唑可湿性粉剂施于土壤 ,每两周全株喷 0 .2 5 %的矮壮素并结合打顶可明显抑制第三年生毛子草的株高、花穗和羽状复叶的生长 ,增加了花穗数和花蕾总数 ,开花期比对照延长约 1 0d。每两周全株喷 0 .76%丁酰肼并结合打顶可抑制毛茛铁线莲的枝条生长 ,促进分枝 ,增加花蕾数。对两种植物的矮化均表明矮化处理过的植株对白粉病有较强的抗性  相似文献

The mechanical strength of a plant stem (a load-bearing organ) helps the plant resist drooping, buckling and fracturing. We previously proposed a method for quickly evaluating the stiffness of an inflorescence stem in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana based on measuring its natural frequency in a free-vibration test. However, the relationship between the stiffness and flexural rigidity of inflorescence stems was unclear. Here, we compared our previously described free-vibration test with the three-point bending test, the most popular method for calculating the flexural rigidity of A. thaliana stems, and examined the extent to which the results were correlated. Finally, to expand the application range, we present an example of a modified free-vibration test. Our results provide a reference for improving estimates of the flexural rigidity of A. thaliana inflorescence stems.  相似文献

The INTERFASCICULAR FIBERLESS/REVOLUTA (IFL1/REV) gene is essential for the normal differentiation of interfascicular fibers and secondary xylem in the inflorescence stems of Arabidopsis. It has been proposed that IFL1/REV influences auxin polar flow or the transduction of auxin signal, which is required for fiber and vascular differentiation. Assay of auxin polar transport showed that the ifl1 mutations dramatically reduced auxin polar flow along the inflorescence stems and in the hypocotyls. The null mutant allele ifl1-2 was accompanied by a significant decrease in the expression level of two putative auxin efflux carriers. The ifl1 mutants remained sensitive to auxin and an auxin transport inhibitor. The ifl1-2 mutant exhibited visible phenotypes associated with defects in auxin polar transport such as pin-like inflorescence, reduced numbers of cauline branches, reduced numbers of secondary rosette inflorescence, and dark green leaves with delayed senescence. The visible phenotypes displayed by the ifl1 mutants could be mimicked by treatment of wild-type plants with an auxin polar transport inhibitor. In addition, the auxin polar transport inhibitor altered the normal differentiation of interfascicular fibers in the inflorescence stems of wild-type Arabidopsis. Taken together, these results suggest a correlation between the reduced auxin polar transport and the alteration of cell differentiation and morphology in the ifl1 mutants.  相似文献

When tested for ornithine and arginine decarboxylases, pyrrolizidine alkaloid-bearing Senecio riddellii, S. longilobus (Compositae), and Crotalaria retusa (Leguminosae) plants exhibited only ornithine decarboxylase activity. This contrasts with previous studies of four species of pyrrolizidine alkaloid-bearing Heliotropium (Boraginaceae) in which arginine decarboxylase activity was very high relative to that of ornithine decarboxylase. Unlike Heliotropium angiospermum and Heliotropium indicum, in which endogenous arginine was the only detectable precursor of putrescine channeled into pyrrolizidines, in the species studied here—using difluoromethylornithine and difluoromethylarginine as the enzyme inhibitors—endogenous ornithine was the main if not the only precursor of putrescine converted into the alkaloid aminoalcohol moiety. In S. riddellii and C. retusa at flowering, ornithine decarboxylase activity was present mainly in leaves, especially the young ones. However, other very young organs such as inflorescence and growing roots exhibited much lower or very low activities; the enzyme activity in stems was negligible. There was no correlation between the enzyme activity and polyamine or alkaloid content in either species. In both species only free polyamines were detected except for C. retusa roots and inflorescence—with relatively very high levels of these compounds—in which conjugated putrescine, spermidine, and spermine were also found; agmatine was not identified by HPLC in any plant organ except for C. retusa roots with rhizobial nodules. Organ- or age-dependent differences in the polyamine levels were small or insignificant. The highest alkaloid contents were found in young leaves and inflorescence.  相似文献

Timothy was grown in controlled environments with day/night temperatures of 18.5/10° C. and 29.5/21° C, with and without extra nitrogen. High temperatures hastened all stages of development after inflorescence initiation. Anthesis occurred after 48 days when N was added and after 52 days without N. Anthesis did not occur until after 68 days at the lower temperatures, with or without N. Largest yields of leaves, stems and stubble were produced at all growth stages at the lower temperatures with N. This treatment gave the highest crop growth rate, which increased almost linearly with time. The lower temperatures with N gave many more and longer stems and more inflorescences than any other treatment. With N and high temperatures, there was no increase in crop growth rate after inflorescence emergence. Temperature had little effect on growth when no N was provided. With no added N, crop growth rate was retarded and increased very little after inflorescence initiation. Herbage produced at high temperatures had the lower percentages of water-soluble carbohydrates and digestible dry matter, but had the higher percentages of most minerals. N increased the percentage content of most minerals. Weights of stubble and of water-soluble carbohydrates in the stubble, and the numbers of stem bases and tillers, were larger at the lower temperatures, and were usually larger with added N in both temperature regimes. Nitrogen decreased the percentage content of carbohydrates in the stubble. Large haplocorms were produced at the low temperatures, but none developed at the high temperatures, indicating less carbohydrate storage. The results partly explain the vigorous growth of timothy in the cool, temperate regions of Europe and North America, and the small dry matter production, lower nutritional value of the herbage, and lack of persistence in the warm southern regions where rainfall is adequate.  相似文献

Survival and growth of Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi) from 25 provenances in the natural distributional range were examined at three test sites in central Japan. Climatic conditions of the sites and provenances indicated a contrast between northwest and southeast locations across the distributional range. Density, height, diameter, and crookedness of stems and width and length of branches were measured for 50-year-old trees, and per-area cross-sectional area and volume of stems were calculated. Variance components among the provenances were large in the stem area and volume (27–33 %) and the branch width (26 %); those among the sites were large in the stem height, diameter, and density (70–81 %); and those of interaction between sites and provenances were small (0–12 %) in all the variables. Principal component analyses showed that eastern provenances exhibited large size of stems and branches at most sites. Growth rate and maximum size at each site were estimated from fitting the stem volume at three ages (12, 31 or 32, and 50 years) to growth curves in logistic functions. Eastern provenances, where seasonal variation is least in temperature and most in precipitation, showed the highest performance of stem and branch growth. The findings from our long-term survey of the L. kaempferi provenance tests suggest climatic effects on survival and growth traits and potential provenances from which to select new breeding materials.  相似文献

Heathlands in Brittany are subject to recurrent summer burning. Recolonisation after large fires begins with bryophytes, but species composition during succession may be altered by colonies of Polytrichum commune Hedw. which appears to be able to prevent reestablishment of the typical heathland formation. Three complementary levels of investigation were adopted in attempting to understand how P. commune, manages to persist and succeed in space open to rapid saturation.Analysis at the level of the local plant community, showed radical changes in the distribution and composition of the herbaceous and muscinal layers over two years. Between May 1992 and May 1994, P. commune cover increased from 13% to 77% accompanied by an appreciable decrease in other pioneer species.We compared individual colony growth of P. commune with that of Polytrichum piliferum, another pioneer moss. In both species, horizontal and vertical growth occurred in spring and autumn. During 1995, P. commune colony diameter had increased by a factor of 4.0 compared with 3.6 for P. piliferum. Over the same interval, colony height increased by a factor of 1.3 for P. commune compared with 1.8 for P. piliferum.Analysis at the level of the module showed that 79% of experimentally cultured stems produced branches, 25% producing a single branch, 32% two branches, and 25% 4 to 7 branches. The lower the location of new branches on culture stems, the longer their leafed section and the greater their overall length. These new branches were morphologically and functionally new ramets.These observations on P. commune conform to the inhibition model of community succession (Connell & Slatyer 1977). Successional patterns recorded in the present study could be interpreted in terms of differences in species colony growth ability. Dense colony growth would allow a species to saturate one of the more important ecosystem compartment. Polytric capacity to grow simultaneously and efficiently in the few centimetres in and above the soil surface could prevent seedling establishment and decrease fitness of coexisting Poaceae.  相似文献

Recent studies have shown that hypergravity enhances lignification through up-regulation of the expression of lignin biosynthesis-related genes, although its hormonal signalling mechanism is unknown. The effects of hypergravity on auxin dynamics were examined using Arabidopsis plants that were transformed with the auxin reporter gene construct DR5::GUS. Hypergravity treatment at 300 g significantly increased β-glucuronidase activity in inflorescence stems of DR5::GUS plants, indicating that endogenous auxin accumulation was enhanced by hypergravity treatment. The hypergravity-related increased expression levels of both DR5::GUS and lignin biosynthesis-related genes in inflorescence stems were suppressed after disbudding, indicating that the increased expression of lignin biosynthesis-related genes is dependent on an increase in auxin influx from the shoot apex.  相似文献

Boron (B) is an essential micronutrient, whose deficiency is common in boreal forests. Our aim was to investigate the effects of the B supply on the retranslocation of micro- and macro nutrients in seedlings of Betula pendula Roth. One-year-old seedlings were grown under three different levels of B: 0%, 30% and 100% of the standard level for complete nutrient solution. Half of the seedlings were harvested after summer period and another half when leaves abscised. Boron was not resorbed in significant amounts from senescing birch leaves prior to abscission. The only micronutrients resorbed were Zn and Ni. Three macronutrients, N, P, and S, were resorbed efficiently from senescing leaves and accumulated into the stems. The resorption of nutrients was the mostly pronounced in B0 seedlings and minimal in B30 seedlings, which, however, showed the highest accumulation of nutrients during autumn period at least partly independently from the resorption from senescing leaves. Boron was shown to be an immobile element in silver birch seedlings that was not withdrawn from senescing leaves prior to abscission. This may increase the B availability for other tree species but also increase the potential for its leaching.  相似文献
