辽西早白垩世九佛堂组两种新的翼手龙类化石(英文)   总被引:19,自引:1,他引:18  
简要报道了辽西热河群上部九佛堂组两件新的翼手龙类化石 ,即夜翼龙科(Nyctosauridae)的张氏朝阳翼龙 (新属、新种 )Chaoyangopteruszhangigen .etsp .nov.和古魔翼龙科 (Anhangueridae)的顾氏辽宁翼龙 (新属、新种 )Liaoningopterusguigen .et.sp .nov.。前者为保存较完整的化石骨架 ,后者为一大型翼龙的头骨和部分头后骨骼化石。朝阳翼龙是夜翼龙科在亚洲大陆的首次确切的化石记录 ,也是层位最低和保存最完整的化石骨架。朝阳翼龙具有4节翼指骨 ,手指爪粗大弯曲 ,这些发现补充和修正了前人认为的夜翼龙科只有 3节翼指骨 ,手指爪退化缺失等一些重要的形态学特征。朝阳翼龙与该科的Nyctosaurusgracilis头后骨骼相比 ,具有许多不同的特征 ,如胫骨特长 ,远长于股骨 ,翼掌骨和第 1翼指骨相对较短 ,肩胛骨短于乌喙骨等。辽宁翼龙是我国已发现的个体最大的翼龙化石 ,发育前上颌骨和齿骨弧形脊突这一古魔翼龙科的重要鉴别特征。与该科的其他成员相比 ,辽宁翼龙上、下颌的牙齿较少 ,仅分布在其前部 ,齿列约占上、下颌长度的 1 / 2。上颌第 1、3齿小 ,第 2、4齿巨大 ,其中第 4齿最大 ,为已知翼龙中最大的牙齿。牙齿具有明显的替换现象。夜翼龙科的成员仅分布于美洲大陆的晚白垩世地层中 ,而古魔翼龙科的成员则是  相似文献

Phyllocarids other thanNahecaris stuertzi are rare in the Hunsrück Slate. The few specimens, mostly fragmentary, are here described and referred to seven different taxa:Heroldina rhenana, Ceratiocarina fam. et gen. indet.,Montecaris? sp.,Nahecaris? halssi, Nahecaris sp.,Dithyrocaris? sp., and Rhinocarididae gen. et sp. indet. Almost none of them yields diagnostic characters permitting identification at even generic level. Some may be different body regions of the same taxon. The Hunsrück Slate phyllocarids, includingNahecaris, preserve characters which indicate an affinity with the leptostracan Malacostraca. Schram’s (1986) reassignment of the phyllocarids to the Class Phyllopoda is therefore rejected.  相似文献

The Permian bryozoan fauna of the Surmaq Formation exposed in a section near Kuh-e Hambast (Hambast Mountains, central Iran) includes ten species. Four species (Fistulipora sawatai Sakagami 1999, Fistulipora takauchiensis Sakagami 1961, Fistulipora monticulosa Nikiforova 1933, and Eridopora parasitica, Waagen and Wentzel 1886) indicate a Middle Permian (Murgabian) age of the formation. Six additional taxa, three cystoporates Fistulipora sp. 1, Fistulipora sp. 2, and Fistuliporidae gen. et sp. indet., as well as three trepostomes Dyscritella sp., Trepostomata gen. et sp. indet. 1 and Trepostomata gen. et sp. indet. 2 could not be identified at the genus and species level. The investigated fauna refers to the Middle Permian of Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Japan.  相似文献

Summary Geological, papaeontological and microfacies studies in the Lower Cambrian carbonate complex of the G?rlitz Synclinorium (eastern Germany/Saxony/Lusatian region) provide new data for the fossil content, depositional history and palaeogeography. The Lower Cambrian of the G?rlitz Synclinorium belongs to the facies zones 5, 7 and 8 ofWilson (1975)-platform rim with connections to the open ocean and to the restricted platform areas. An extraordinarily rich fauna was found with elements which are in some cases new for Europe (Rhombocorniculum cancellatum Cobbold,Fordilla sibirica Krasilova, Calodiscus lobatus Hall,Archaeooides granulatus Qian,Archiasterella pentactina Sdzuy,Allonia sp.,Obliquatheca aldanica Sysoiev,Conotheca circumflexa Missarzhevsky,Microcornus elongatus Missarzhevsky,Lenalituus sp.,Pelagiella cf.lorenzi Kobayashi,Beshtashella sp.,Comluella sp.,Cambroclavithidae gen. et sp. indet., Helcionellidae gen. et sp., indet. Eocrinoidea gen. et sp. indet.) This fauna indicates Lower Cambrian (higher Atdabanian/Botomian) age and reveals palaeobiogeographical connections to the Siberian Platform, to the Mediterranean area and to China. A somewhat new stratigraphical subdivision of the Lower Cambrian sequence (Zwetau Formation) is described. New units are established within the Ludwigsdorf Member (the carbonatic lower part of the sequence), the ‘Lower Ludwigsdorf Member’ (massive dolostone) and the ‘Upper Ludwigsdorf Member’ (bedeed limestones and their equivalents). Abstract—Morphology and histology of several fragmentary turtle specimens from the Middle Jurassic locality in the Berezovsk quarry (Krasnoyarsk Region, Russia) are described, including Testudines indet. 1 (costal VIII), Testudines indet. 2 (two ornamented shell fragments), and Testudines indet. 3 (distal part of a humerus), and also skeletal elements of Annemys sp. (Xinjiangchelyidae) represented by mass material in the same locality. It is shown that Testudines indet. 1 and 3 probably belong to one or two taxa of basal aquatic turtles, while Testudines indet. 2 is most likely an abnormal Annemys sp. The presumable presence of basal turtles in the Berezovsk Quarry Assemblage agrees with the fact that they are present in other Middle Jurassic turtle assemblages of Asia.  相似文献

We present a first look at the microvertebrate fauna of the Middle Pleistocene site of Hummal in Central Syria. Some 2000 microvertebrate remains (1200 mammalian; 230 reptilian; 600 unidentified) were found in unit G/layer 17 by screen-washing sediments in an area of 4 m2. The following taxa have been identified: Reptilia: Agaminae indet., Gekkota indet., Lacertidae indet. (2–3 taxa), Eryx sp., Natricinae indet.; and Mammalia: Crocidurinae indet., Chiroptera indet., Lepus sp., Arvicolinae indet., Ellobius sp., Microtus sp., Murinae indet. (large form), Mus sp., Meriones sp., Gerbillus sp. The presence of Ellobius indicates a Middle Pleistocene age of the fauna. This genus does not occur in Syria today, but is recorded in Israel in Late Acheulean to Early Mousterian sites. In North Africa, the occurrence of this genus is restricted to the early part of the Middle Pleistocene. The ecological requirements of the nearest living relatives of the recorded taxa indicate mainly open habitats, but also the presence of vegetation and wet conditions, at least close to the site. Lepus, Ellobius, Meriones, Gerbillus, and Eryx live to various extents in steppes, semi-deserts, and deserts. Various extant species of large murids that come into consideration occupy a variety of wooded habitats, grassland and savannah and require the presence of water. Hummal offers the most detailed Pleistocene portrait yet of hominin palaeoenvironment in an area that, at the end of the Pleistocene, became known as part of the Fertile Crescent.  相似文献

Extensive sampling of several Barremian and Albian–Cenomanian levels across the Aguilón, Oliete and Aliaga subbasins of the Iberian Basin, north‐east Spain, yielded abundant material of new or so far poorly known neoselachians. The faunas consist of 16 different species, five of which represent new species and two new genera: Cantioscyllium brachyplicatum sp. nov. , Platypterix venustulus gen. et sp. nov. , Ptychotrygon pustulata sp. nov. , Ptychotrygon striata sp. nov. and Iberotrygon plagiolophus gen. et sp. nov. In addition, teeth of Heterodontus cf. H. carerens, Lamniformes indet., Pteroscyllium sp., Scyliorhinidae indet., Rhinobatos sp., Spathobatis sp., Belemnobatis sp., Ptychotrygon geyeri, Ptychotrygon sp. and Celtipristis herreroi are described. The new family Ptychotrygonidae is defined. The localities comprise palaeoenvironments ranging from lacustrine and shallow lake to open marine settings. Neoselachians are almost completely absent from continental settings in the Barremian, as a result of prevailing freshwater conditions, but became more abundant in marine strata. The Albian–Cenomanian selachian assemblage is the most profuse and diverse of the three assemblages studied. To understand the differences in the spawning sites among Cyprininae fishes in Lake Biwa, we conducted periodic sampling of larvae and juveniles at three sites (irrigation ditch, St. 1; river, St. 2; and satellite lake, St. 3). On the basis of species/subspecies identification by using RAPD analysis, we examined the species composition of the larvae and juveniles at these three sampling sites. The number of specimens was 616, 68, and 117 at St. 1, St. 2, and St. 3, respectively. Based on morphological and genetic identification, the specimens were found to include nine fish species/subspecies, namely, Carassius auratus grandoculis, Carassius cuvieri, Carassius auratus langsdorfii, Cyprinus carpio, Sarcocheilichthys sp., Silurus asotus, Oryzias latipes, Odontobutis obscura obscura, and Rhinogobius sp. The species composition at the three sites also differed. Among the Cyprininae fishes, C. auratus grandoculis, C. auratus langsdorfii, and Cyprinus carpio were found in abundance at St. 1; C. cuvieri was not collected from St. 1 but was found at the other two sites, particularly St. 3. Among the other fishes, Rhinogobius sp. was collected at St. 1 and St. 3, whereas the other four occurred only at St. 1. These results suggest that the selection of spawning sites by C. cuvieri differs to a certain extent from that of the other Cyprininae fishes, and the irrigation ditch in the lake is an important habitat for the larvae and juveniles of native fish species.  相似文献

The bryozoan fauna from the Xiazhen Formation (Katian, Upper Ordovician) of northeast Jiangxi Province, southeast China is reported here. Seventeen species of bryozoans belonging to fifteen genera and four orders are identified: Homotrypa yushanensis, Homotrypa sp., Prasopora yushanensis, Trematopora sp., Monotrypella sp., Rhombotrypa sp., Orbignyella sp., Constellaria jiangxiensis, Constellaria sp., Stictopora nicholsoni, Trigonodictya parvula, Ptilodictya ensiformis, Stictoporella sp., Pseudopachydictya sp., Nematopora sp., Arthrostylidae sp. indet., and Chasmatoporidae sp. indet. Four of these genera have been reported previously but nine genera (Trematopora, Monotrypella, Rhombotrypa, Orbignyella, Trigonodictya, Ptilodictya, Stictoporella, Pseudopachydictya, and Nematopora), one rhabdomesine and one fenestrate are found for the first time in the Late Ordovician strata of South China. Our palaeogeographical analysis suggests that the bryozoan association is typical for the Katian, which is mostly widespread in Laurentia, Siberia, Baltica and Mediterranean, and displays palaeobiogeographical relationships to the Laurentia–Siberia Province.  相似文献

The body weight of the Plio-Pleistocene hominids of Africa is estimated by predicting equations derived from the Terry Collection of human skeletons with known body weights. About 50% of the variance in body weight can be accounted for by vertebral and femoral size. Predicted early hominid weights range from 27.6 kg (61 lb) to 54.3 kg (119 lb). The average weight for Australopithecus is 43.2 kg (95 lb) and for Homo sp. indet. from East Rudolf, Kenya, is 52.8 kg (116 lb). These estimates are consistent even if pongid proportions are assumed. Indices of encephalization show that the brain to body weight ratio in Australopithecus is above the great ape averages but well below Homo sapiens. The Homo sp. indet. represented by the KNM-ER 1470, O.H. 7 and O.H. 13 crania have encephalization indices above Australopithecus despite the greater body weight of the former.  相似文献

Aves are represented by abundant fossil remains in Quaternary sites. Birds are well adapted to the environment they inhabit, so they make very good paleoenvironmental indicators for Quaternary sites. Here we analyse the avian remains from the Late Pleistocene (probably MIS3) site of Aguilón P-7 (AGP-7). The Pleistocene sediments fill up a shallow cave, which is located in the Zaragozan part of the Iberian Range, 55 km south of the city of Zaragoza. We have for the first time provided a taxonomic and taphonomic study of the avian assemblage of AGP-7, as well as a preliminary paleoenvironmental analysis based on these data. Nine avian taxa have been identified: Galliformes indet., Lagopus sp., Aquila chrysaetos, Gyps fulvus, Passeridae indet., Anthus sp., Prunella modularis,Sturnus cf. unicolor and Corvus monedula. The taphonomic analysis did not provide conclusive information. However, it suggests an accumulation of uneaten food remains by diurnal birds of prey. The identified taxa currently inhabit the Iberian Peninsula, populating woodland environments with rocky areas. They are found in areas with an oceanic climate, in contrast to the Mediterranean climate that now prevails in Aguilón.  相似文献

Specimens of the larger Neogene porcupines, generally allocated toHystrix primigenia (Wagner, 1848), from 17 localities are studied, and their taxonomic status is recon-sidered. Material from one of these localities has recently been described asHystrix depereti Sen, 2001. The diagnoses of both species are revised. Tooth size and crown height are considered diagnostic characters at the species level. As a resuit, specimens from eight localities are allocated toH. primigenia, from eight other localities toH. depereti, and from one locality toHystrix sp. indet. The level of specialisation of the cranial morphology of these fossil species is compared withH. refossa Gervais, 1852 and with extant species. Diagnostic characters ofH. aryanensis SEN, 2001 and ofH. zhengi van Weers & Zhang, 1999, are discussed.  相似文献

The Lower to Middle Devonian Santa Lucia Formation of NW Spain contains a rich and well-preserved bryozoan fauna. An assemblage containing 14 species is described from two localities in Cantabrian Mountains, Abelgas, and Paradilla. One new genus with one new species is described: Isostylus abelgasensis n. sp. n. gen. Another two new species have been found: Microcampylus minor n. sp. and Acanthoclema parvula n. sp. Additionally, the following species were identified: Cyclotrypa communis (Ulrich 1890), Fistuliphragma gracilis Ernst 2008a, Leioclema attenuatum Duncan 1939, Hemitrypa cf. tenella Barrande in Počta 1894, Fenestella aff. parallela Hall 1881, Anastomopora adnata (Hall 1883), Semicoscinium rhombicum Ulrich 1890, Quadrisemicoscinium discretum (Prantl 1932). Three species are described in open nomenclature: Trepostomata sp. indet.1 and 2, and Semicoscinium sp. The described bryozoan fauna shows connections to the Lower Devonian of Bohemia, and to the Middle Devonian of Rhenish Massif and North America.  相似文献

Bacteria and fungi, isolated from United States Air Force (USAF) aviation fuel samples, were identified by gas chromatograph fatty acid methyl ester (GC-FAME) profiling and 16S or 18S rRNA gene sequencing. Thirty-six samples from 11 geographically separated USAF bases were collected. At each base, an above-ground storage tank, a refueling truck, and an aircraft wing tank were sampled at the lowest sample point, or sump, to investigate microbial diversity and dispersion within the fuel distribution chain. Twelve genera, including four Bacillus species and two Staphylococcus species, were isolated and identified. Bacillus licheniformis, the most prevalent organism isolated, was found at seven of the 11 bases. Of the organisms identified, Bacillus sp., Micrococcus luteus, Sphinogmonas sp., Staphylococcus sp., and the fungus Aureobasidium pullulans have previously been isolated from aviation fuel samples. The bacteria Pantoea ananatis, Arthrobacter sp., Alcaligenes sp., Kocuria rhizophilia, Leucobacter komagatae, Dietza sp., and the fungus Discophaerina fagi have not been previously reported in USAF aviation fuel. Only at two bases were the same organisms isolated from all three sample points in the fuel supply distribution chain. Isolation of previously undocumented organisms suggests either, changes in aviation fuel microbial community in response to changes in aviation fuel composition, additives and biocide use, or simply, improvements in isolation and identification techniques.  相似文献

A new non-marine ostracod fauna from the Paleogene “hamadian deposits” outcropping west of Bechar (southwestern Algeria) has been recovered from lacustrine to fluvial deposits of the Oued Méridja section and fluvial deposits on the southern edge of the Hamada de Méridja section. Recently, these sections have been dated as late Thanetian – early Ypresian (latest Paleocene to earliest Eocene) and Ypresian – earliest Lutetian (early to earliest middle Eocene), respectively, based on charophytes. The associated ostracod fauna recovered consists of relatively mostly moderately to badly preserved specimens and comprises 14 taxa, none of which could be identified to species level in view of its poor state of preservation; we have nevertheless been able to identify and describe the following taxa: Herpetocypris sp., Cyprinotus? sp., Heterocypris? sp. 1 and sp. 2, Cypris? sp., Ilyocypris sp., Cytheroidea indet. sp. 1 and sp. 2, Limnocytheridae indet. sp. 1, Cypridoidea indet. sp. 1, Cyprididae indet. sp. 1, and Ostracoda indet. sp. 1, 2 and 3. Only Heterocypris sp. 1 occurs in both sections. Although the fauna can as yet not be related to the few other contemporaneous faunas reported from the wider palaeogeographic area, it adds important new information to our poor knowledge on Eocene non-marine ostracods in North Africa and southern Europe. The Méridja sections and area are promising regarding the discovery of more, better preserved material and further studies, and one main limitation to the correlation of the fauna is the hitherto insufficient taxonomic knowledge on many faunal elements of Eocene non-marine ostracods to which our section contributes considerably.  相似文献

Hybodontoid and nonhybodontoid sharks are described from the Lower Triassic Vega‐Phroso Siltstone Member of Sulphur Mountain Formation on the basis of newly discovered material. The age of the classic fossil site ‘Wapiti Lake’ in the Canadian Rocky Mountains is discussed on the basis of new field data and one conodont found in association. Preliminary results suggest that these elasmobranch remains are between early Smithian and Spathian in age. Apart from the enigmatic genus Listracanthus and previously reported edestoids, the shark fauna consists of at least one hybodont, at least two questionable hybodontoid genera and an elasmobranch of enigmatic affinities, represented by peculiar denticles only and described as ‘genus A’incertae sedis. The presence of the only previously reported hybodont genus, cf. Palaeobates, is erroneous. The largest specimen represents the most complete Early Mesozoic shark known. The heterodonty of its dentition, fin spine morphology and the short, robust body shape imply it represents a member of a new family of shark, Wapitiodidae fam. nov. , and is described here as Wapitiodus aplopagus gen. et sp. nov. The unique dental morphology shows affinities to Polyacrodus but clearly differs in the complete lack of side cusps. Wapitiodus gen. nov. possesses a primitive fin spine structure. The tooth crowns are entirely blunt in the distal (posterior) tooth files, and are acuminate‐unicuspid in several anterior files. Tooth morphology, the shape of the basal cartilages, the proximal insertion of the fin spines and the pectoral fin structure are interpreted as diagnostic characters for this new genus, and possibly for the Wapitiodidae fam. nov. The majority of observed characters appear to be primitive and are reminiscent of Palaeozoic sharks, however, and these features include dorsal fin spine morphology and gross skull anatomy. A second species, provisionally placed in the same genus, is described as Wapitiodus homalorhizo sp. nov. Wapitiodus homalorhizo sp. nov. can be distinguished from W. aplopagus gen. et sp. nov. by the proportions of the fin spines, tooth morphology and possibly the body shape. Several isolated teeth and other fragmentary material are referred to either Wapitiodus gen. nov. sp. indet. or to ?Polyacrodus sp. (Polyacrodontidae gen. et sp. indet.).
