The influence of nitrates (NH4NO3 KNO3 and Ca(NO3)2) on Diatom populations has been studied. These populations were isolated by enclosures with transparent walls, without bottom or lid, placed in an oligotrophic pond. The addition of NH4NO3 generally resulted in a decrease in the number of Diatoms and the disappearance of some species. The addition of KNO3 and Ca(NO3)2 was followed, during some periods, by a very important increase of Achnanthes minutissima, Fragilaria construens and Gomphonema parvulum.  相似文献

The mono and polyester glycosyl sulfates or phosphate diglycerides account for a group of polar lipids which is found in large amounts in the three fucacae that are studied : Pelvetia canaliculata (L) Decn and Thur, Fucus vesiculosus (L), Fucus serratus (L).These polar lipids have been shown to have complex structures, most of them are unknown in the present nomenclature. Both quantity and composition of these polar lipids are species characteristics, forming the equipment of polar lipids for every species of algae.Glycosyl ester sulfate and phosphate diglycerides are very unstable substances when pure, moreover photolabile and thermodegradable. This extreme fragility caused many difficulties in the determination of molecular structures which require a very high purity of isolated substances.The determination of the structures, studies of quantities and composition, cytological localization of these polar lipids should allow to define clearly their physiological function and importance from the biochemical and ecological point of view.  相似文献

By use of Laurell's method, the quantitative evolution of three antigenic components of chicken erythrocyte non-hemoglobin proteins has been followed during the course of development. Forty-seven navigation buoys were used to collect quantitative samples of epibenthic fauna in the Lower Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence. Stations, as described by their sessile species and biomass composition, were grouped using multivariate analysis. A Gower similarity index, modified to take into account the importance of each species in the ecosystem, was used to compare stations. Results obtained by cluster and principal coordinate analyses showed comparable relations between stations. North Shore and Gaspé Coast stations were separated from those of the Lower North Shore, the Mingan Island sector and the Lower Estuary. Stations from the Lower North Shore were also separated from those of the Mingan Island region and of the Lower Estuary, but at a higher level of similarity. All animal assemblages consisted of the following sessile species: Obelia longissima (Pallas), Hiatella arctica (L.), Mytilus edulis L., Balanus balanoides (L.) and B. crenatus (Bruguière). These species formed over 95% of biomass of all sessile species. Differences between the various station assemblages were mainly due to changes in the relative abundance of these species. The geographical gradient of summer surface water temperature best explains the observed clusters. In the Lower Estuary, the spatio-temporal variations of physico-chemical factors and the surface circulation may influence the number of species and their abundance. The circulation systems of the Lower Estuary and near the Mingan Islands might account for the similarity between their assemblages. The same dominant species, Obelia longissima, characterizes the fauna of these two regions.  相似文献

Using synchrotron radiation as the excitation light, we studied the fluorescence parameters of perylene incubated with pigeon erythrocyte membranes and with an isotropic viscous medium, the Primol 342 oil.From 4 to 37°C, we observed a single lifetime of 4.5 ns in the oil and two with the membrane (τ1 = 1−1.4 ns and τ2 = 5.4−6.1 ns). The dependence upon temperature of the rotation correlation time of perylene () in the oil was characteristic of an isotropic medium, whereas the limiting value of anitropy (r ∞) was zero. With the membrane, γ ∞ decreased from 0.14 to 0.06 and from 2.9 to 0.5 ns, indicating a greater amplitude and frequency of molecular motions.The addition of chlorpromazine, indomethacine, tetracaine, n-octylamine, octanol or octanoic acid to the membrane decreased the τ1 and τ2 values. This would stem from the desorganization of the membrane induced by the drugs.  相似文献

The presence of a nuclear DNA polymerase activity has been demonstrated in the mouse testis by a cytochemical method. The enzyme was present in the nuclei of the various cell types of mouse spermatogenesis, including spermatozoa. The nuclear activity increased during meiotic prophase and then decreased in spermatids and spermatozoa. A peculiar attention was devoted to the properties of the nuclear DNA polymerase present in spermatozoa. All four deoxyribonucleoside-triphosphates were needed for optimal activity; the acid-insoluble radioactive product obtained by polymerization in situ was completely removed by DNase, but not by RNase nor by pronase. The reaction of polymerization was DNA-dependent, sensitive to high concentrations of KCl and not affected by NEM nor by PHMB.  相似文献

Structure and chemical composition of some dinosaur eggshells from Jurassic and Cretaceous of North America. Microstructural analyses of some dinosaur eggshells from Jurassic and Cretaceous sites of North America show a large variability in the state of preservation. Outer and inner surfaces are often hidden by secondary deposits, and the tubercles or ridges and spherolites are not visible. Chemical analyses show that some fragments are strongly enriched in Si. There is a good correlation between the preservation of the structures and the chemical contents. Diagenetic processes are different from those described in the samples from Southern France.  相似文献

Palaemon serratus at larval stage 2, acclimatized at 16°, were subjected to a temperature increase of 15° for periods of 5, 20 or 40 min with or without return to the initial temperature for 12 h. The soluble protein concentration of larvae subjected to a thermal shock of 20 min duration is lower than in control larvae. Total esterase-2C activity per mg of soluble protein after a thermal shock of 20 min duration is less than in control larvae but, in contrast with larvae subjected to a shock of 40 min duration, the initial activity is restored after 12 hours. Esterase-2C activity zymograms, after polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis, show twelve isozymes. The activity of each isozyme examined varies according to the duration of the thermal shock.  相似文献

Effect of preillumination wavelength on the deactivation of oxidized forms of the Photosystem II electron donor

Deactivation was studied using chlorella cells or spinach chloroplasts after an illumination of different wavelengths (light I = 710 nm, light II = 650 or 480 nm). The measurements concerned mainly the third oxidized state S3 of the System II electron donor, according to the scheme proposed by

, (Photochem. Photobiol., 11 (1970)457). The time course of deactivation was followed during the dark after each preillumination. Different results were obtained with algae in state 1 or state 2 as defined by , (Biochim. Biophys. Acta, 189 (1969) 366). In state 1 the deactivation of S3 is faster after light 11 than after light 1; in state 2, except at the beginning of the decay, the deactivation of S3 is almost the same after the two kinds of preillumination. With chloroplasts the deactivation is slower, but always faster after light II than after light I, no transition between state 1 and state 2 was observed. The results are discussed with reference to the possible reducing substrates of the reaction.  相似文献
