从牧草生长、种群、群落、土壤和生态系统5个方面分析了放牧的作用、机理与途径。放牧改变牧草的物质与能量分配格局,多途径地诱导牧草的补偿性生长,取决于放牧制度等因素。放牧还改变种间竞争格局、调控种群更新,以及群落结构和功能。介绍了草地健康管理的阈限双因子法,讨论了稳定态一过渡态假说和草地灌丛化。家畜对土壤有直接和间接两种作用途径,作用效果与放牧强度、季节、地形有密切关系,重点分析了放牧对土壤C贮量的作用机制。阐述了提高放牧系统生产力的系统耦合机制,以及放牧对生态系统物质循环的影响。根据放牧生态学的发展趋势和我国放牧管理现状,提出7项值得深入研究的问题。  相似文献

Food selectivity and the mechanisms of food selection were analyzed by video microscopy for three species (Spumella, Ochromonas, Cafeteria) of interception-feeding heterotrophic nanoflagellates. The fate of individual prey particles, either live bacteria and/or inert particles, was recorded during the different stages of the particle-flagellate-interaction, which included capture, ingestion, digestion, and egestion. The experiments revealed species-specific differences and new insights into the underlying mechanisms of particle selection by bacterivorous flagellates. When beads and bacteria were offered simultaneously, both particles were ingested unselectively at similar rates. However, the chrysomonads Spumella and Ochromonas egested the inert beads after a vacuole passage time of only 2-3 min, which resulted in an increasing proportion of bacteria in the food vacuoles. Vacuole passage time for starved flagellates was significantly longer compared to that of exponential-phase flagellates for Spumella and Ochromonas. The bicosoecid Cafeteria stored all ingested particles, beads as well as bacteria, in food vacuoles for more then 30 min. Therefore "selective digestion" is one main mechanism responsible for differential processing of prey particles. This selection mechanism may explain some discrepancies of former experiments using inert particles as bacterial surrogates for measuring bacterivory.  相似文献

为探究草原植物物种多样性对家畜放牧行为的影响及其机制,在青藏高原高寒草甸开展藏系牧羊轮牧试验,调查植被物种多样性,观察藏系牧羊采食速率、觅食速率和采食时间,并计算藏系牧羊日采食量。结果表明:两年间,植物物种丰富度与藏系牧羊采食速率呈显著正相关关系(P<0.05);觅食速率、采食时间和日采食量对放牧率响应敏感(P<0.05),呈夏秋增冬春减的趋势。植物Shannon-Wiener指数与藏系牧羊的采食时间显著负相关(P<0.05);在暖季或8羊/hm2放牧率下植物Shannon-Wiener指数与藏系牧羊日采食量呈显著正相关(P<0.05)。Pilelou均匀度指数与藏系牧羊采食速率和采食时间显著负相关(P<0.05);在暖季或8羊/hm2放牧率下Pilelou均匀度指数与藏系牧羊日采食量呈显著负相关(P<0.05)。植物物种丰富度对藏系牧羊放牧行为贡献较大,且放牧藏系牧羊的采食速率和采食时间比觅食速率和日采食量对植物物种丰富度响应更敏感,以用植物物种丰富度为自变量可以更好预测藏系牧羊放牧行为。放牧管理通过影响植被物种多样性从而进一步影响了藏系牧羊放牧行为。放牧行为不仅是评价草地营养价值和家畜生产力的关键指标,也是草地健康管理的基础。因此,明确草原植物物种多样性-藏系牧羊放牧行为的互作机制有助于更好的提高藏系牧羊地生产力,维护草原生态健康。  相似文献

High resolution video-microscopy was used to observe grazing patterns of the heterotrophic nanoflagellates Cafeteria roenbergensis, Bodo saltans, Spumella sp., and Ochromonas sp. Spumella and Ochromonas enclose food particles with pseudopodia while Cafeteria and Bodo engulf particles by invagination of the cell surface. The following parameters of the feeding process were quantified: frequency of flagellar beating, speed of particles in different positions of the feeding current, food size selection, feeding rate, and the time budget for the handling of particles. The mean handling times differed between 94 s for Cafeteria and 4 s for Ochromonas for ingested particles. Handling times for ingested particles were significantly longer than for non-captured particles. Long handling times were calculated to be disadvantageous only for flagellates which propel a high water volume per hour (esp. Ochromonas) or live in a bacteria-rich environment. Our model calculations may provide a reasonable theoretical explanation for a concentration-dependent behavioural variability of the feeding strategy of different heterotrophic nanoflagellates (HNF) species.  相似文献

利用GMAME1模拟高寒草甸放牧生态系统夏秋草场在临界放牧压力下的270种轮牧制度,并对其累积采食量进行比较分析。结果指出:在高寒草甸放牧生态系统中,最佳的轮牧小区数目为3或4个。证明了Morley规则:最佳轮牧小区数目应该小于10。推荐2个高寒草甸地区最佳的轮牧模式供野外实验和放牧规划参考:(1)3个轮牧小区,每小区每次持续放牧29d,放牧压力为30.14kJ/m2·d,累积牧草采食量最高为4250.443kJ/m2。(2)为保持牧草结构的稳定和各轮牧小区牧草生物量的均匀性,可以采用3个轮收小区,放牧持续时间7d,放牧压力I(145)=28.8914kJ/m2·d,累积采食量为4073.34kJ/m2。  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of grazing on midday gerbil (Meriones meridianus) population characteristics and survival of animals of different genders. The experiment used a randomized complete block design and was conducted in Alxa Left Banner, Inner Mongolia, China, in 2002 (The agricultural reclamation plots set up in 1994). From April 2006 to October 2010, midday gerbils were live‐trapped in 3 light grazing plots, 3 overgrazed plots, and 3 grazing exclusion plots. The quantity of vegetation was investigated in the two different grazing intensity areas and grazing exclusion area to determine the relationship between gerbils and plant food availability. The results suggested that there was higher gerbil density, individual body mass, and daily body mass growth rate in the grazing exclusion sites than the other sites across the whole year. Females had higher survival in grazing exclusion areas than in other treatments, but the males’ survival showed the opposite pattern. Our results indicated that grazing negatively influenced the midday gerbil population by reducing food availability. Grazing influenced the survival rates of male midday gerbils positively, but had negative effects on females. The reason for gendered differences in survival rates of midday gerbils requires further investigation.  相似文献

Grazing bioerosion, notably by chitons, gastropods and regular echinoids, is a powerful destructive force in many recent shallow-marine environments and impacts significantly on sessile epibionts through grazing predation and/or unselective dislodgement. Grazing bioerosion was an important component of a major phase of biotic escalation; the Mesozoic marine revolution. Recent investigations of hard substrates in southern British Jurassic marine formations have identified widespread ichnofossils attributable to grazing activity by gastropods and/or chitons, and regular echinoids. The co-occurring benthic macrofaunas include groups that would have been vulnerable to grazing disturbance and dislodgement; notably articulate brachiopods. The emerging ichnological evidence strengthens the argument for grazing bioerosion as a significant contributor to the Mesozoic–Cenozoic decline of the articulate brachiopods, and their retreat to deep-water and/or cryptic refugia.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to determine the osmotic and ionic (Na(+), K(+), Ca(2+), Mg(2+) and Cl(-)) haemolymph concentrations in Gammarus oceanicus at different salinity levels. Being a species of marine origin it inhabits brackish waters of the Baltic Sea. G. oceanicus specimens were collected in January 2003 from the Gulf of Gdansk (salinity 7 psu). The animals were gradually acclimated to eight different salinity levels (5, 7, 14, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 41 psu) at a temperature of 5 degrees C and 100% oxygen saturation. The haemolymph osmolalities correlated positively with external salinity, from 545.4+/-17.3 mOsm in 5 psu to 1185.9+/-34.6 mOsm in 41 psu. G. oceanicus hyperregulated within the 5-31.5 psu range; above 31.5 psu it hyporegulated its body fluids in comparison to the external medium. At 31.5 psu (1017 mOsm) the haemolymph concentration of G. oceanicus was isoosmotic with the habitat. The haemolymph concentrations of all the studied ions, except K(+), correlated positively with their concentrations at the various salinity.  相似文献

ABSTRACT Global amphibian declines have been linked to various anthropogenic land uses. Recent studies have documented negative impacts of cropland agriculture and deforestation on amphibians; however, few have examined potential impacts of cattle grazing in wetlands on resident amphibians. Therefore, we measured differences in number of captures and body size of postmetamorphic amphibians, egg mass abundance, and shoreline vegetation structure and composition between 4 wetlands with direct cattle access and 4 wetlands from which cattle were excluded on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, USA. We captured amphibians at wetlands from March to August 2005 and 2006 using pitfall traps. Number of green frog (Rana clamitans) metamorphs captured at nonaccess wetlands was 2.5 times and 9.8 times greater than at wetlands with cattle access in 2005 and 2006, respectively. However, number of American toads (Bufo americanus) captured was 68 times and 76 times greater at cattle-access wetlands in 2005 and 2006, respectively. In general, metamorph body size was negatively correlated with species-specific capture rate. We detected no differences in egg mass abundance between cattle land-use types. Height, percent horizontal cover, and percent vertical cover of shoreline vegetation were 74%,25%, and 84% greater, respectively, in nonaccess wetlands in 2005; vegetation trends were similar in 2006. Our results suggest that cattle impact amphibian populations but effects vary by species. Differences in postmetamorphic capture rate may be related to less emergent vegetation at cattle-access wetlands. Although body size differed between land uses for metamorphs, these trends probably were short-lived, because we did not detect differences in juvenile and adult body size between land uses for most species. Based on our findings, we suggest that fencing cattle from wetlands may be a prudent conservation strategy for some amphibian species (e.g., ranids), whereas other species (e.g., bufonids) may benefit from controlled grazing.  相似文献

Seasonal variability in grazing rates and food-processing characters were assessed for three abundant fishes in a tropical rocky shore: the damselfish Stegastes fuscus , the parrotfish Sparisoma atomarium , and the surgeonfish Acanthurus bahianus . Significant differences were found in grazing rates among hour of day and seasons, and in food-processing characters among seasons for the three fishes. Grazing rates for S. atomarium and A. bahianus peaked at 1300 and 1400 hours for S. fuscus . Three main periods of different intensity in bite rates, low, intermediate and intense, were identified for all fishes. As expected, total bite rates, ingestion rates and gut fullness were highest in A. bahianus , the largest species studied, followed by S. atomarium and S. fuscus. S. atomarium with fused jaw teeth, holds the highest bite size and S. fuscus the lowest one. Gut turnover was high for S. fuscus and similar for S. atomarium and A. bahianus . Grazing rates and food-processing characters seem to vary between seasons not only due to changes in temperature, but also affected by other factors. Fishes employ different food-processing mechanisms and bear some differences in food-processing characters to achieve optimal energetic supplies from a poor nutrient food resource.  相似文献

Abstract. The effects of grazing upon the composition of a grassland were examined in a replicated grazing experiment with sheep over eight years. Grazing was controlled to produce two levels of grazing in each of winter, spring and summer, combined in a 2×2×2 factorial experimental design. Particular species were either increased or decreased by winter grazing while, in general, dicotyledonous species were favoured by grazing in both winter and spring. A model fitting the main effects of grazing in three seasons showed the importance of grazing in winter and spring to achieve sward diversification.  相似文献

植物功能性状能够响应生存环境的变化并直接决定着生态系统功能。为了揭示围封与放牧管理对物种共存和驱动群落构建的影响机理,该研究以青藏高原东缘高寒草甸为对象,分析了围封与放牧处理对植物功能性状和功能多样性的影响。结果显示:(1)在群落水平,放牧显著降低了比叶面积和植物高度;在物种水平,放牧群落中多数杂类草比叶面积减小,而莎草类和禾草类的比叶面积在处理间无显著差异。(2)叶干物质含量与比叶面积在围封和放牧处理中均呈显著负相关关系,在放牧处理中,叶干物质含量与植物高度呈显著的二次函数关系,即随着叶干物质含量的增大,植物高度先减小后增大;在同等比叶面积的情况下,与围封相比,放牧降低了叶干物质含量;在相同叶干物质含量的情况下,与围封相比,放牧降低了植物高度。(3)放牧在总体上降低了种间性状的平均差异,植物性状表现出趋同响应,具体表现为放牧减小了叶干物质含量和植物高度的种间差异;与围封相比,放牧显著提高了功能均匀度,减小了功能分离度。研究表明,不同植物种对放牧的响应模式存在差异,放牧降低了种间对光资源的竞争,可能增加了对土壤养分的竞争,放牧驱动群落构建的过程中,土壤养分是非常重要的作用因子,说明放牧影响物种共存依赖于对多种资源的竞争。  相似文献

Effects of various treatments on prey capture, prey ingestion and ingestion time of individualArtemia salina nauplii by the sea anemoneAiptasia pallida Verrill were studied in the laboratory. Exposure to crudeArtemia homogenate, 5 × 10–4 M reduced glutathione or 5 × 10–4 M proline significantly decreased the number ofArtemia that were captured and ingested but had no significant effect on the ingestion time of individualArtemia. Multiple captures increased the total ingestion time but decreased ingestion time per prey item. Results suggest that, under these conditions, the prey capture phase of zooplankton feeding was somewhat distinct from the ingestion phase since chemical stimuli that significantly reduced prey capture had no significant effect on ingestion time.  相似文献

放牧作为草地的主要利用方式,对草地生态系统的结构和功能具有显著影响。目前长期放牧对草地土壤团聚体组成及其稳定性的影响还知之甚少。本研究依托2004年建立的内蒙古短花针茅荒漠草原长期放牧试验平台,设置围封禁牧(对照)、轻度、中度和重度放牧强度,研究不同放牧强度下土壤团聚体组成和稳定性的变化,并结合相关土壤理化指标探究影响土壤团聚体稳定性的主要因素。结果表明: 放牧显著改变了不同粒径土壤团聚体的组成。与对照相比,大团聚体(0.25~2 mm)含量在轻度放牧下保持不变,而在中度和重度放牧下显著下降;重度放牧显著降低了小团聚体(0.053~0.25 mm)含量,而中度和重度放牧显著增加了微团聚体(<0.053 mm)含量。土壤团聚体稳定性在轻度放牧下维持较高水平,但在中度和重度放牧下显著降低。土壤团聚体稳定性与大团聚体含量呈显著正相关,与微团聚体含量呈显著负相关。土壤pH值、容重、有机碳及其他理化性质共同作用于土壤团聚体组成进而对其稳定性产生影响。综上,对于荒漠草原而言,适度放牧可以维持较高的土壤团聚体稳定性。  相似文献

Grazing by large herbivores, in interplay with environmental productivity, is a key driver of the composition of the vegetation with important consequences on the ecosystem and, consequently, for land management. We tested the predictions of the resource availability – resource–acquisition theory by assessing the extent to which community averages of plant traits, known to be related to plant growth, competitive ability and response to grazing were correlated with resource gradients within local (200 km2) geographical ranges. Second, we assessed the applicability of the same set of plant traits to make inferences on ecological effects of grazing by sheep in alpine ecosystems in Norway, using a data set consisting of 16 sites in central Norway. We estimated grazing intensity by free-ranging sheep based on GPS telemetry, soil properties, plant species composition and species traits i.e. specific leaf area (SLA), leaf dry matter content (LDMC), leaf size and plant height. Soil fertility and the interaction between soil fertility and grazing, but not grazing intensity alone, were significantly related to plant species and traits composition. Generally, average SLA showed lower correspondence with soil fertility and grazing than the other traits. Leaf size and plant height were lowest at sites with high grazing intensity and in sites with low fertility, and increased with soil fertility in little and moderately grazed sites, but declined at high fertility sites when grazing was intense. LDMC showed the opposite trend. Grazing intensity was more related to the variability in plant composition and average plant traits when environmental productivity was high. Our results therefore are indicative of a convergence of responses to grazing and nutrient limitation.  相似文献

Successional trajectories through the statistical space of ordinations were used to examine response to grazing in salt desert shrub communities of western Utah, USA. Relative cover data were periodically collected over a 53 year period from grazing exclosures and pastures grazed with light or heavy stocking rates in fall or spring (4 grazing treatments). Two-way indicator species analysis was used to select the 98 most similar plots (24 m2) from among 358 plots in 1935. Foliar cover of 23 species on those 98 plots was followed at irregular intervals over 53 years, resulting in 709 plot-time samples. Successional trajectories were developed for each grazing treatment with ordinations from detrended correspondence analysis. Grazing season had a more pronounced influence on floristic trajectories than did grazing intensity. These ordinations suggest grazing season was an important factor regulating response to grazing and identify annual March-April grazing as an important cause of retrogression in the salt desert shrub ecosystem.Abbreviations (DER) Desert Experimental Range  相似文献

We studied body mass of prefledging Emperor Geese Chen canagica at three locations across the Yukon–Kuskokwim Delta, Alaska, during 1990–2004 to investigate whether large-scale variation in body mass was related to interspecific competition for food. From 1990 to 2004, densities of Cackling Geese Branta hutchinsii minima more than doubled and were c . 2–5× greater than densities of Emperor Geese, which were relatively constant over time. Body mass of prefledging Emperor Geese was strongly related (negatively) to interspecific densities of geese (combined density of Cackling and Emperor Geese) and positively related to measures of food availability (grazing lawn extent and net above-ground primary productivity (NAPP)). Grazing by geese resulted in consumption of ≥ 90% of the NAPP that occurred in grazing lawns during the brood-rearing period, suggesting that density-dependent interspecific competition was from exploitation of common food resources. Efforts to increase the population size of Emperor Geese would benefit from considering competitive interactions among goose species and with forage plants.  相似文献

放牧对脆弱的荒漠草原生态系统有着重要影响,且随放牧强度及持续时间不同而变化。鞘翅目昆虫是环境监测与生物多样性变化的指示生物。利用巴氏罐诱法对短花针茅荒漠草原不同放牧强度草地的甲虫群落组成和多样性进行调查,探究放牧对荒漠草原甲虫群落的影响。结果表明:(1)步甲科、金龟科为短花针茅荒漠草原甲虫群落优势类群,埋葬甲科、芫菁科、拟步甲科和花金龟科为常见类群。(2)放牧强度增加不利于维持更多的捕食性甲虫;对照和轻度放牧样地可维持更多的腐食性甲虫。(3)甲虫数量随放牧强度增加而递减;群落多样性以重度放牧草地最大,轻度放牧草地最小;群落优势度为对照、中度、重度显著高于轻度放牧草地。各甲虫类群在不同放牧强度草地出现时间、高峰期均不同。(4)对照、轻度、重度放牧样地的甲虫优势类群群落结构不同于其他生境,但均与中度放牧样地存在相似性。轻度、中度、重度放牧样地的甲虫稀有类群群落结构不同于其他生境,但均与对照样地存在相似性。(5)甲虫群落个体数与植物群落物种丰富度、盖度、植物平均高度、生物量呈显著正相关。Shannon-Wiener多样性指数、Margalef丰富度指数均与植物群落物种丰富度、生物量显著负相关。研究结果为荒漠草原甲虫多样性保护提供参考依据。  相似文献

放牧干扰是影响草地植物性状的方式之一,植物叶片性状能够客观反映植物对生长环境的适应性.本文以呼伦贝尔克氏针茅草原不同放牧强度的样地为研究区,探讨叶片性状间的相互关系及在不同放牧梯度上和不同生活型功能群之间的变化规律.结果表明:克氏针茅草原植物的主要叶片性状在不同生活型植物之间差异均不显著,但是各个性状之间的相关性较强.在放牧梯度上,重度放牧样地上叶片磷含量和氮磷比值与中度放牧区和轻度放牧区有显著差异;在生活型功能群分类中,放牧对多年生杂草的叶片磷含量和氮磷比值有显著影响,表明多年生杂草对放牧较为敏感,重度放牧改变了植物养分利用策略.合理放牧可以改善克氏针茅草原植物养分性状并有利于遏制草原的退化.  相似文献

研究草地植物功能性状变异对放牧干扰的响应机制,有助于解析草地生态系统群落构建和功能多样性维持机制及植物对环境的适应及权衡策略。以科尔沁沙地退化草地为对象,研究围封和放牧草地物种多种功能性状(植株高度、根系长度、叶面积、根面积、叶片干物质含量、地上干物质含量、根系干物质含量、比叶面积、比根长和根冠比)变异特征及其对放牧干扰的响应机制。结果表明: 退化草地物种种间性状变异明显高于种内变异,种间性状变异对总体变异的贡献率占比高达70.2%~95.1%,而种内变异仅为4.9%~29.8%,但群落构建中物种的种内变异仍不可忽视。放牧草地物种种间性状变异低于围封草地,且放牧草地种内变异增加而种间变异减小。放牧导致不耐牧的优良禾本科牧草叶面积和叶片干物质含量下降而比根长增加,但耐牧的杂类草则通过增加叶面积和叶片干物质含量并降低比根长来提高在群落中的优势地位。退化草地对放牧响应较为敏感的功能性状有叶面积、叶片干物质含量、比根长和比叶面积。植物叶片性状和根系性状自身及彼此间均呈显著正相关,但放牧会增强根系性状的协同效应而减弱叶片性状的协同效应。说明放牧会驱动植物个体和种群功能性状权衡策略发生改变,进而起到调控植物群落结构和功能的作用。  相似文献
