In our continuing search for bioactive constituents of Korean medicinal sources, we investigated an 80% MeOH extract of the twigs of Chaenomeles speciosa. Column chromatographic purification of the CHCl3 fraction resulted in the isolation of a new biphenyl derivative (1), along with four known biphenyl compounds (25) and six triterpenes (611). The chemical structure of the new compound was determined on the basis of spectroscopic analyses including 1D and 2D NMR data. Among isolates, compound 3 exhibited potent cytotoxic activities against SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, and XF498 cell lines (IC50 = 5.91, 4.22, and 6.28 μM, respectively). Also, Compounds 9 and 10 showed strong anti-neuroinflammatory activities (IC50 2.38, and 6.70 μM, respectively).  相似文献

The biflavanone (2S,2"S)-7,7"-di-O-methyltetrahydroamentoflavone and five known flavonoids, 7-O-methylnaringenin, 7,3'-O-dimethylquercetin, 7-O-methylapigenin, 7-O-methylluteolin, and eriodictyol were isolated from the leaves of Rhus retinorrhoea Steud, Ex Olive. The biflavanone exhibited moderate antimalarial activity with IC50 0.98 microg/ml against Plasmodium falciparum (W2 Clone) and weak activity against P. falciparum (D6 Clone) with IC50 2.8 microg/ml. Nevertheless, it did not display any cytotoxicity. 7-O-Methylnaringenin showed weak antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans, C. krusei, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycobacterium smegmatis, M. intracellulare, and M. xenopi with MIC approximately 100 microg/ml. Characterization of each compound was based on spectral analysis and comparison with reported data.  相似文献

A phytochemical investigation of the twigs of Glycosmis cochinchinensis led to the isolation of two new alkaloids, glycosmisacridone (1) and glycosmisindole (2), together with eight known compounds (3–10). Their structures were elucidated by intensive analysis of their spectroscopic data. Compound 9 exhibited moderate antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus SK1with an MIC value of 16 μg/mL.  相似文献

Two triterpene esters, 3beta-trans-sinapoyloxylup-20(29)-en-28-ol (1) and 3beta-trans-feruloyloxy-16 beta-hydroxylup-20(29)-ene (2), were isolated as cytotoxic constituents from the chloroform-soluble extract of the twigs of Celtis philippinensis, along with five known triterpenes, 3beta-O-(E)-feruloylbetulin (3), 3beta-O-(E)-coumaroylbetulin (4), betulin (5), 20-epibryonolic acid (6), and ursolic acid (7). The structures of 1 and 2 were assigned from their 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data. All isolates were evaluated for cytotoxicity against several human cancer cell lines.  相似文献

The structures of six new C20 quassinoids and one new C19 quassinoid, all isolated from the twigs and thorns of Castela polyandra, were established by a combination of spectroscopic and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Five known quassinoids and one known sterol were also identified.  相似文献

Knema elegans, a tropical evergreen plant, belongs to Myristicaceae family. Phytochemical investigation on the leaves and twigs of K. elegans led to the isolation and identification of two new flavonoids knemavones A and B (1 and 2), along with fifteen known analogues (317). These compounds belong to four subtypes of flavonoids, including chalcones, flavanes, flavones, and isoflavones. The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by means of spectroscopic techniques, including HRESIMS, 1D, and 2D NMR experiments. Compounds 317 are isolated from the title plant for the first time. Moreover, the new chalcones 1 and 2 could serve as chemotaxonomic markers of K. elegans.  相似文献

Investigation of the MeOH extract of Betula schmidtii twigs resulted in the isolation and identification of three new triterpenoids (1–3), along with ten known ones (4–13). The structures of new compounds (1–3) were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including 1D, 2D NMR (1H and 13C NMR, COSY, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY), HR-MS, and chemical methods. All the isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against A549, SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, and HCT-15 cell lines. Compound 11 exhibited potent cytotoxic activities against four cell lines, and compounds 5 and 13 significantly induced nerve growth factor secretion in a C6 rat glioma cell line. Their anti-inflammatory effects were also assessed by measuring nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide–activated BV-2 cells. Compounds 7 and 12 displayed potent inhibition of nitric oxide production, without significant cell toxicity.  相似文献

Two furanocoumarin derivatives, 3-methoxypsoralen (1) and 3,5-dimethoxypsoralen (2), along with nine known compounds, friedelinol (3), 3-oxo-11β-hydroxyoleanan-12-ene (4), lupeol (5), taraxer-3-one (6), a mixture of β-sitosterone (7a) and stigmast-4,22-dien-3-one (7b), ergosterol (8), 9,19-cyclolanost-3-one-24,25-diol (9), oleanan-12-ene-3,11-dione (10), and β-sitosterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (11) were isolated from the twigs of Ficus chlamydocarpa. Their structures were established by NMR spectroscopic analyses and HRESIMS. The structure of 1 was further confirmed from its single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crude extract, fractions and some isolated compounds were assessed for their preliminary antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity. One of the fractions (FB-B3) exhibited inhibition against the bacterial strain Pseudomonas agarici and induced a remarkable cytotoxic activity toward the human cervix carcinoma cell line KB-3-1 (IC50 0.166 mg/mL), and compounds 1, 6, and 7 showed moderate antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Micrococcus luteus.  相似文献

Investigation of the twigs of Dorstenia mannii gave 6,8-diprenyl-5,7,3′4′-tetrahydroxyflavanone and four new prenylated flavanones, named dorsmanins E-H and characterized as 5,6-7,8-bis-(2,2-dimethylchromano)-3′,4′-dihydroxyflavanone, 7,8-[2″-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-dihydrofurano]-6-prenyl-5,3′,4′-trihydroxyflavanone, 6,7-[2″-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)dihydrofurano]-8-prenyl-5,3′,4′-trihydroxyflavanone and 6-prenyl-8-(2-hydroxy-3-methylbut-3-enyl)-5,7,3′,4′-tetrahydroxyflavanone, respectively, on the basis of spectral analysis and chemical evidence for the chromano derivative.  相似文献

One new tetraoxygenated xanthone, merguensinone (1), along with one known xanthone, 1,5,6-trihydroxy-2-prenyl-6′,6′-dimethyl-2H-pyrano(2′,3′:3,4)xanthone (2) and five known biflavanoids, (?)-GB-1a (3), (?)-GB-2a (4), (+)-morelloflavone (5), (+)-volkensiflavone (6), and amentoflavone (7) were isolated from the methanol extract from the twigs of Garcinia merguensis. Their antibacterial activity against the standard Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and methicillin-resistant S. aureus and antioxidation activity with DPPH assay were examined.  相似文献
