Electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) has been used as an analytical tool in a wide-ranging scoping study of the alkylation and arylation reactions of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4]. From these experiments, the factors that influence the formation of different product species - formed by mono- or di-alkylation - are determined. If the alkylating agent is an alkyl chloride or sulfate, monoalkylation followed by dialkylation of the two sulfido groups occurs, dependent on the alkylating power of the reagent used. For example, n-butyl chloride gives solely [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SBu)(PPh3)4]+ while dimethyl sulfate gives [Pt2(μ-SMe)2(PPh3)4]2+. This species, previously unisolated is stable in the absence of good nucleophiles, but the addition of potassium iodide results in rapid conversion to [Pt2(μ-SMe)2(PPh3)3I]+. This iodo complex is also observed from the reaction of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] with excess MeI, after the initial formation of mono- and di-methylated species. In these reactions, the iodide presumably displaces a phosphine ligand, which is then quaternised by excess alkylating agent. Changing the alkylating agent to a longer chain alkyl iodide or methyl bromide decreases the rate of alkylation of the sulfide in the initially formed [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SR)(PPh3)4]+. Mixed-thiolate species of the type [Pt2(μ-SMe)(μ-SR)(PPh3)4]2+ are easily generated by reaction of [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SR)(PPh3)4]+ with excess Me2SO4 and is also dependent on the avoidance of nucleophiles. Reactions towards α,ω-dialkylating agents are surveyed; the chain length is found to have a dramatic effect on the rate of the second intramolecular cyclisation process, illustrated by a competitive reactivity study involving a mixture of Br(CH2)4Br and Br(CH2)5Br; on completion of the reaction the former gives [Pt2{μ-S(CH2)4S}(PPh3)4]2+ while the latter predominantly gives monoalkylated[Pt2(μ-S){μ-S(CH2)5Br}(PPh3)4]+. The reactivity of o- and p-dihaloxylenes has been explored, with the reaction with p-BrCH2C6H4CH2Br giving the bridged species [(PPh3)4Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SCH2C6H4CH2S)(μ-S)Pt2(PPh3)4]2+. Arylation reactions of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] with halobenzenes and 2-bromoheterocyclic compounds (pyridine, thiophene) are also described.  相似文献

The reactivity of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] towards a range of nickel(II) complexes has been probed using electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry coupled with synthesis and characterisation in selected systems. Reaction of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] with [Ni(NCS)2(PPh3)2] gives [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4Ni(NCS)(PPh3)]+, isolated as its BPh4 − salt; the same product is obtained in the reaction of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] with [NiBr2(PPh3)2] and KNCS. An X-ray structure determination reveals the expected sulfide-bridged structure, with an N-bonded thiocyanate ligand and a square-planar coordination geometry about nickel. A range of nickel(II) complexes NiL2, containing β-diketonate, 8-hydroxyquinolinate, or salicylaldehyde oximate ligands react similarly, giving [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4NiL]+ cations.  相似文献

Several new bis-thiolate complexes of the type [Rh(dippe)(μ-SR)]2 where R=H, methyl, cyclohexyl, o-biphenyl, and phenyl, or (SR)2SCH2CH2CH2S have been synthesized and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. All [Rh(dippe)(μ-SR)]2 complexes except [Rh(dippe)(μ-SPh)]2 exhibit bent geometries, while the orientation of the thiolato substituents changes with increasing steric bulk. 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopies indicate that both ring inversion and sulfur inversion occur among the members of the series, which allows them to access several isomeric forms when they are in solution. 31P NMR spectroscopy indicates that sulfur inversion in [Rh(dippe)(μ-SH)]2, [Rh(dippe)(μ-Sbiphenyl)]2, and [Rh(dippe)(μ-SPh)]2 is a non-dissociative process.  相似文献

The 1,3-oxazine complexes cis- and trans-[PtCl2{ C(R)OCH2CH2C}H22] (cis: R=CH3 (1a), CH2CH3 (2a), (CH3)3C (3a), C6H5 (4a); trans:R =CH3 (1b), C6H5 (4b)) were obtained in 51-71% yield by reaction in THF at 0 °C of the corresponding nitrile complexes cis- and trans-[PtCl2(NCR)2] with 2 equiv. of OCH2CH2CH2Cl, generated by deprotonation of 3-chloro-1-propanol with n-BuLi. The cationic nitrile complexes trans-[Pt(CF3)(NCR)(PPh3)2]BF4 (R=CH3, C6H5) react with 1 equiv, of OCH2CH2CH2Cl to give a mixture of products, including the corresponding oxazine derivatives trans-[Pt(CF3){ CH2}(PPh3)2]BF4 (5 and 6), the chloro complex trans- [Pt(CF3)Cl(PPh3)2] and free oxazine H2. For short reaction times (c. 5–15 min) the oxazine complexes 5 and 6 could be isolated in modest yield (37–49%) from the reaction mixtures and they could be separated from the corresponding chloro complex (yield 40%) by taking advantage of the higher solubility of the latter derivative in benzene. For longer reaction times (> 2 h), trans-[Pt(CF3)Cl(PPh3)2] was the only isolated product. Complex 6 was crystallographically characterized and it was found to contain also crystals of trans- [PtCl{ H2}(PPh3)2]BF4, which prevented a more detailed analysis of the bond lengths and angles within the metal coordination sphere. The 1,3-oxazine ring, which shows an overall planar arrangement, is characterized by high thermal values of the carbon atoms of the methylene groups indicative of disordering in this part of the molecule in agreement with fast dynamic ring processes suggested on the basis of 1H NMR spectra. It crystallizes in the trigonal space group P , with a=22.590(4), b=15.970(3) Å, γ=120°, V=7058(1) Å3 and Z=6. The structure was refined to R=0.059 for 3903 unique observed (I3σ(I)) reflections. A mechanism is proposed for the conversion of nitrile ligands to oxazines in Pt(II) complexes.  相似文献

Routes to the synthesis of the mixed sulfide-phenylthiolate complex [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SPh)(PPh3)4]+ have been explored; reaction of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] with excess Ph2IBr proceeds readily to selectively produce this complex, which was structurally characterised as its PF6 salt. Reactions of [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3)4] with other potent arylating reagents (1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene and 1,5-difluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene) also produce the corresponding nitroaryl-thiolate complexes [Pt2(μ-S){μ-SC6H2(NO2)2X}(PPh3)4]+ (X = H, F). The complex [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SPh)(PPh3)4]+ reacts with Me2SO4 to produce the mixed alkyl/aryl bis-thiolate complex [Pt2(μ-SMe)(μ-SPh)(PPh3)4]2+, but corresponding reactions with the nitroaryl-thiolate complexes are plagued by elimination of the nitroaryl group and formation of [Pt2(μ-SMe)2(PPh3)4]2+. [Pt2(μ-S)(μ-SPh)(PPh3)4]+ also reacts with Ph3PAuCl to give [Pt2(μ-SAuPPh3)(μ-SPh)(PPh3)4]2+.  相似文献

The reaction of the Tc(I) complex [Tc(NO)Cl2(HOMe)(PPh3)2] with stoichiometric amounts of 2-mercatopyridine and a proton scavenger yields [Tc(NO)Cl(Spy)(PPh3)2] or [Tc(NO)(Spy)2(PPh3)], depending upon quantities of ligands employed. These two complexes have been structurally characterized. The small bite angles of the bidentate mercaptopyridine ligands cause significant deviation from octahedral coordination geometry.  相似文献

The positive ion electrospray mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) of trans-[Ru(NO)Cl)(dpaH)2]Cl2 (dpaH=2,2′-dipyridylamine), obtained from the carrier solvent of H2O–CH3OH (50:50), revealed 1+ ions of the formulas [RuII(NO+)Cl(dpaH)(dpa)]+ (m/z=508), [RuIIICl(dpaH)(dpa)]+ (m/z=478), [RuII(NO+)(dpa)2]+ (m/z=472), [RuIII(dpa)2]+ (m/z=442), originating from proton dissociation from the parent [RuII(NO+)Cl(dpaH)2]2+ ion with subsequent loss of NO (17.4% of dissociative events) or loss of HCl (82.6% of dissociative events). Further loss of NO from the m/z=472 fragment yields the m/z=442 fragment. Thus, ionization of the NH moiety of dpaH is a significant factor in controlling the net ionic charge in the gas phase, and allowing preferential dissociation of HCl in the fragmentation processes. With NaCl added, an ion pair, {Na[RuII(NO)Cl(dpa)2]}+ (m/z=530; 532), is detectable. All these positive mass peaks that contain Ru carry a signature ‘handprint’ of adjacent m/z peaks due to the isotopic distribution of 104Ru, 102Ru, 101Ru, 99Ru, 98Ru and 96Ru mass centered around 101Ru for each fragment, and have been matched to the theoretical isotopic distribution for each set of peaks centered on the main isotope peak. When the starting complex is allowed to undergo aquation for two weeks in H2O, loss of the axial Cl is shown by the approximately 77% attenuation of the [RuII(NO+)Cl(dpaH)(dpa)]+ ion, being replaced by the [RuII(NO+)(H2O)(dpa)2]+ (m/z=490) as the most abundant high-mass species. Loss of H2O is observed to form [RuII(NO+)(dpa)2]+ (m/z=472). No positive ion mass spectral peaks were observed for RuCl3(NO)(H2O)2, ‘caged NO’. Negative ions were observed by proton dissociation forming [RuII(NO)Cl3(H2O)(OH)] in the ionization chamber, detecting the parent 1− ion at m/z=274, followed by the loss of NO as the main dissociative pathway that produces [RuIIICl3(H2O)(OH)] (m/z=244). This species undergoes reductive elimination of a chlorine atom, forming [RuIICl2(H2O)(OH)] (m/z=208). The ease of the NO dissociation is increased for the negative ions, which should be more able to stabilize a RuIII product upon NO loss.  相似文献

The dimer [(dippe)Ni(μ-S)]2 reacts with organic electrophiles to give the alkylated species [(dippe)2Ni2(μ-S)(μ-SR)]+. Stronger alkylating agents lead to double alkylation and cleavage of the dimer. Protonation similarly occurs with strong acids. The structures of several of these species have been determined.  相似文献

(3-Trimethylsilyl-pyridine-2-thiolato-S,N)copper(I), [Cu(3-Me3Sipyt)], was obtained by electrochemical oxidation of copper metal in an acetonitrile solution of the neutral ligand. The compound is tetrameric and the four copper atoms are arranged with distorted tetrahedral geometry, each copper atom being trigonally coordinated to one nitrogen and two sulfur atoms of three different ligands. Crystal data: 141/a, a=14.608(2), C=19.366(4) Å, V=4133(2), Å, Z=4, Dcalc=1.581 g cm−3, R=0.0397 for 848 reflections.  相似文献

A novel five-coordinate rhenium(III)-thiolato complex, Re(SCH2C6H4OCH3-p)3(PPh3)2 has been isolated during the reaction of trans-ReOCl3(PPh3)2 with p-methoxybenzyl mercaptan. In the unexpected structure that was acquired, the central metal has undergone a reduction from Re(V) to Re(III). The five-coordinate Re(III) complex has been characterized by spectroscopic methods, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. X-ray crystallographic studies showed the coordination geometry around rhenium to be that of a trigonal bipyramid. The basal plane is defined by three sulfur atoms of the monodentate ligand, while the two apical positions are occupied by two phosphines of the precursor.  相似文献

The chloro complexes trans-[Pt(Me)(Cl)(PPh3)2], after treatment with AgBF4, react with 1-alkynes HC---C---R in the presence of NEt3 to afford the corresponding acetylide derivatives trans-[Pt(Me) (C---C---R) (PPh3)2] (R = p-tolyl (1), Ph (2), C(CH3)3 (3)). These complexes, with the exception of the t-butylacetylide complex, react with the chloroalcohols HO(CH2)nCl (n = 2, 3) in the presence of 1 equiv. of HBF4 to afford the alkyl(chloroalkoxy)carbene complexes trans-[Pt(Me) {C[O(CH2)nCl](CH2R) } (PPh3)2][BF4] (R = p-tolyl, N = 2 (4), N = 3 (5); R=Ph, N = 2 (6)). A similar reaction of the bis(acetylide) complex trans-[Pt(C---C---Ph)2(PMe2Ph)2] with 2 equiv. HBF4 and 3-chloro-1-propanol affords trans-[Pt(C---CPh) {C(OCH2CH2CH2Cl)(CH2Ph) } (PMe2Ph)2][BF4] (7). T alkyl(chloroalkoxy)-carbene complex trans-[Pt(Me) {C(OCH2CH2Cl)(CH2Ph) } (PPh3)2][BF4] (8) is formed by reaction of trans-[Pt(Me)(Cl)(PPh3)2], after treatment with AgBF4 in HOCH2CH2Cl, with phenylacetylene in the presence of 1 equiv. of n-BuLi. The reaction of the dimer [Pt(Cl)(μ-Cl)(PMe2Ph)]2 with p-tolylacetylene and 3-chloro-1-propanol yields cis-[PtCl2{C(OCH2CH2CH2Cl)(CH2C6H4-p-Me}(PMe2Ph)] (9). The X-ray molecular structure of (8) has been determined. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Pna21, with a = 11.785(2), B = 29.418(4), C = 15.409(3) Å, V = 4889(1) Å3 and Z = 4. The carbene ligand is perpendicular to the Pt(II) coordination plane; the PtC(carbene) bond distance is 2.01(1) Å and the short C(carbene)-O bond distance of 1.30(1) Å suggests extensive electronic delocalization within the Pt---C(carbene)---O moietry.  相似文献

The reaction of TiCl4 with Li2[(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2] in toluene at room temperature afforded a mixture of cis- and trans-[(TiCl3)2{(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] in a molar ratio of 1/2 after recrystallization. The complex trans-[(TiCl3)2{(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] was hydrolyzed immediately by the addition of water to THF solutions to give trans-[(TiCl2)2(μ-O){(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] as a solid insoluble in all organic solvents, whereas hydrolysis of cis-[(TiCl3)2{(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] under different conditions led to the dinuclear μ-oxo complex cis-[(TiCl2)2)(μ-O){(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] and two oxo complexes of the same stoichiometry [(TiCl)2(μ-O){(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}]2(μ-O)2 as crystalline solids. Alkylation of cis- and trans-[(TiCl3)2{(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] with MgCIMe led respectively to the partially alkylated cis-[(TiMe2Cl)2{(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] and the totally alkylated trans-[(TiMe3)2{(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}] compounds. The crystal and molecular structure of the tetranuclear oxo complex [(TiCl)2(μ-O){(SiMe2)25-C5H3)2}]2(μ-O)2 was determined by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The Pt2 (II) isomeric terminal hydrides [(CO)(H)Pt(μ-PBu2)2Pt(PBu2H)]CF3SO3 (1a), and [(CO)Pt(μ-PBu2)2Pt(PBu2H)(H)]CF3SO3 (1b), react rapidly with 1 atm of carbon monoxide to give the same mixture of two isomers of the Pt2 (I) dicarbonyl [Pt2(μ-PBu2)(CO)2(PBu2H)2]CF3SO3 (3-Pt); the solid state structure of the isomer bearing the carbonyl ligands pseudo-trans to the bridging phosphide was solved by X-ray diffraction. A remarkable difference was instead found between the reactivity of 1a and 1b towards carbon disulfide or isoprene. In both cases 1b reacts slowly to afford [Pt2(μ-PBu2)(μ,η22-CS2)(PBu2H)2]CF3SO3 (4-Pt), and [Pt2(μ-PBu2)(μ,η22-isoprene) (PBu2H)2]CF3SO3 (6-Pt), respectively. In the same experimental conditions, 1a is totally inert. A common mechanism, proceeding through the preassociation of the incoming ligand followed by the P---H bond formation between one of the bridging P atoms and the hydride ligand, has been suggested for these reactions.  相似文献

The trinuclear clusters [Pd3(μ-dppm)3(CO)]2+ and [PtPdCo(μ-dppm)2(CO)3(CNtBu)]+ exhibit a large and a small cavity, respectively, formed by the phenyl rings of the bridging diphosphine ligands. Their binding constants (K11) with halide ions (X) were obtained by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The binding ability varies as I > Br > Cl, and [Pd3(μ-dppm)3(CO)]2+ > [ptPdCo(μ-dppm)2-(CO)3(CNtBu)]+. The MO diagram for the related cluster [Pd2Co(μ-dppm)2(CO)4]+ has been addressed theoretically in order to predict the nature of the lowest energy electronic bands. For this class of compounds, the lowest energy bands are assigned to charge transfers from the Co center to the Pd2 centers.  相似文献

Thus, transmetallation products were obtained affording polymeric [Ni(SRF)(μ-SRF)]n, monomeric cis-[Pt(PPh3)2(SC6F4-4-H)2] (3) and cis-[Pt(PPh3)2(SC6F5)2] (4) and dimeric species [Pd(PPh3)(SC6F4-4-H)(μ-SC6F4-4-H)]2 (5) and [Pd(PPh3)(SC6F5)(μ-SC6F5)]2 (6) for Ni, Pt and Pd, respectively. The crystal structures of complexes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 were determined.  相似文献

The nine-coordinate dimer, [LaCl2(NO3)(12-crown-4)]2, has all of the anions in the inner coordination sphere and La3+ has a capped square antiprismatic geometry. The reaction between the linear trinuclear complex [Pt{Fe(CO)3(NO)}2(PhCN)2] and Ph2(2-C5H4N)PSe led to the isolation and characterization of the 46-electron cluster [(CO)3Fe(μ3-Se){Pt(CO)P(2-C5H4N)Ph2}2] (1), whose structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The cluster typology, which consists of an open triangle Pt---Fe---Pt capped by a μ3-Se atom, is rather rare. The chemical bonding in 1 and in similar systems has been analyzed through density functional theory (DFT) and qualitative MO approaches. A strict analogy with the well understood L2M(μ-acetylene)ML2 systems is invoked by considering 1 as formed by the (CO)3FeSe tetrahedral unit stabilized by sidewise interactions of the triple bond with two d10-L2M fragments. Otherwise, the 18-electron (CO)3FeSe monomer is unstable as an isolate molecule. This is confirmed by our DFT calculations that indicate how the well characterized dimer (CO)3Fe(μ-Se2)Fe(CO)3 lies as much as, approximately, 58 kcal mol−1 deeper in energy. Finally, by considering an analogy with [L2M(μ-dichalcogen)ML2]0, +2 redox systems (M=Pd, Pt), reduction of 1 to a dianion has been hypothesized and the structure of the latter has been tentatively explored by DFT calculations.  相似文献

Rotational barriers about the M-S bonds of 16-electron bent metallocene monothiolates (η5-C5H5)2Zr(Cl) (SR) (R = −CH3, −CH2CH3, −CH(CH3)2, −C(CH3)3) (1a–d) have been measured by dynamic 1H NMR methods: 32, 33, 35 and 26 kJ mol−1, respectively. The ground-state orientation about the Zr-S bonds of 1 that maximizes Spπ → Mdπ bonding (Cl-Zr-S-R ≈ 90°) also maximizes CpR steric interaction, whereas the rotational transition-state orientation (Cl-Zr-S-R ≈ 0°) is one that minimizes Spπ → Mdπ bonding and maximizes ClR steric interaction. Deviation from a ground-state orientation that is ideal for Spπ → Mdπ bonding might be expected as the size of the R group and CpR steric interaction increases. Thus, the aberrant trend for the R = −C(CH3)3 derivative could be attributed to a ground-state steric effect where the sterically demanding −C(CH3)3 group forces an unfavorable (misdirected) orientation for Mdπ-Spπ bonding, but a favorable orientation with respect to CpR and ClR steric interactions. However, the solid-state structures of (η5-C5H5)2Zr(SR)2 (R = −CH3, −CH2CH3, −CH(CH3)2, −C(CH3)3) (2a–d) exhibit regular variation of their metric parameters as evidenced by their Zr-S-C bond angles of 108, 109, 113, and 124° and S-Zr-S′ bond angles of 97, 99, 100 and 106°, respectively. Neither the S′-Zr-S-R torsion angles nor the dihedral angles that describe the relationship between the S/Zr/S′ and Cp(centroid)/Zr/Cp′ (centroid) planes (both indicators of the relative orientation of the Zr dπ acceptor orbital and the thiolate S pπ donor orbital) reflect the steric demand of the R group. Thus, the size of the R group imposes a measured effect on the geometry of 2 and the tert-butyl group is not extraordinary. Although the enthalpic and entropic effects could not be deconvoluted for rotation about the Zr-S bond of 1 in the present study, literature precedents suggest that both enthalpic and entropic effects may play a role in determining the irregular trend that is observed.  相似文献
