The paper describes the habitat utilization of small cryptobenthic fishes of the families Blenniidae (Lipophrys nigriceps, and Parablennius zvonimiri), Gobiesocidae (Apletodon incognitus, Gouania wildenowi, Lepadogaster candollei, and L. lepadogaster), Gobiidae (Chromogobius zebratus, Corcyrogobius liechtensteini, Didogobius splechtnai, Gammogobius steinitzi, Millerigobius macrocephalus, Thorogobius ephippiatus, T. macrolepis, and Zebrus zebrus), and Tripterygiidae (Tripterygion melanurus). Nine different habitats from the waterline to a depth of about 40m were examined. The depth distributions of the single species and co-occurrences with other cryptobenthic fish species are given.  相似文献

The Mediterranean gobiid genus Chromogobius (Teleostei-Perciformes) is redefined with additional information on lateral-line system and skeleton. The value of meristic features, colouration, squamation, and relative number of cephalic lateral-line papillae is shown for species and subspecies definition. Two species are recognized and described, the mediolittoral Ch. quadrivittatus (Steindachner, 1863) (type species) and the more offshore Ch. zebratus (Kolombatovic, 1891), with the latter being divided into the two subspecies Ch. z. zebratus (from Split, Adriatic Sea) and Ch. z. levanticus subsp. n . (Mediterranean coast of Israel; possibly Tyrrhenian Sea). Osteological confirmation for placing Chromogobius in the Gobiidae is provided, and Chromogobius shown to have affinity with certain South African species (Gobius nudiceps, G. caffer, G. natalensis, G. agulhensis, and Acentrogobius multi-fasciatus), as well as occupying an intermediate position between the Mediterranean Zebrus zebrus and Didogobius bentuvii.  相似文献

The tapeworm Proteocephalus macrocephalus (Creplin, 1825), a parasite of the eel Anguilla anguilla, was characterised using morphological and genetic characters. The species is morphologically typified mainly by features of the scolex (i.e. shape and size of an apical organ which is formed early during the development in an intermediate host) and strobila (i.e. regularly rectangular proglottides, morphology of the vagina and anterior position of the seminal receptacle). Genetically, P. macrocephalus was compared with two congeners, P. percae and P. exiguus. Characters enabling differentiation of P. macrocephalus were as follows: fixed allelic differences at Got, Pgm and Gapdh loci, metrical features of chromosomes Nos 1, 2 and 7, and species-specific fragments obtained by RAPD method using 13 random primers.  相似文献

The complete mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) cytochrome b gene (1140 bp) was sequenced in Herzenstein macrocephalus and Gymnocypris namensis and in 13 other species and sub-species ( n = 22), representing four closely related genera in the subfamily Schizothoracinae. Conflicting taxonomies of H. macrocephalus and G. namensis have been proposed because of the character instability among individuals. Parsimony, maximum likelihood and Bayesian methods produced phylogenetic trees with the same topology and resolved several distinctive clades. Previous taxonomic treatments, which variously placed these two species of separate genera or as sub-species, are inconsistent with the mtDNA phylogeny. Both H. macrocephalus and G. namensis appear in a well-supported clade, which also includes nine species of Schizopygopsis , and hence should be transferred to the genus Schizopygopsis . Morphological changes are further illustrated, and their adaptive evolution in response to the local habitat shifts during the speciation process appears to be responsible for conflicting views on the systematics of these two species and hence the contrasting taxonomic treatments. These species are endemic to the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, a region with a history of geological activity and a rich diversity of habitats that may have result in the parallel and reversal evolution of some morphological characters used in their taxonomies. Our results further suggest that speciation and morphological evolution of fishes in this region may be more complex than those previously expected.  相似文献

Seasonal changes in populations of Proteocephalus macrocephalus (Creplin) were investigated for 17 months in the European eel, Anguilla anguilla (Linnaeus), in two rivers in Devon, SW England, but no clear seasonal patterns in prevalence and abundance were apparent. Population levels of the cestode are low in both localities, and it is suggested that natural population levels of P. macrocephalus may generally be low. However, growth and maturation of the cestode show marked seasonality with both occurring mainly in early summer.  相似文献

黑鲷精子的超低温冻存及DNA损伤的SCGE检测   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
以0.5 mL的麦细管为冻存管和DMSO为抗冻剂进行超低温冷冻黑鲷精子,对冻精核DNA的损伤情况进行单细胞凝胶电泳(SCGE)检测,其结果表明,以Cortland溶液为稀释液,5%、10%、15%及20%DMSO为抗冻剂的超低温冻存的黑鲷精子活力、受精率与鲜精无显著差异。其中以10%DMSO为抗冻剂的冻存效果最佳,冻精的激活率、运动时间、寿命及受精率分别达(92.91±1.25)%、(39.90±2.70)min、(53.82±2.84)min及(89.35±1.99)%;而以25%及30%DMSO为抗冻剂时,冻精活力及受精率显著下降。SCGE检测结果显示,DMSO浓度为5%、10%、15%及20%时,黑鲷冻精与鲜精的彗星率及损伤系数差异不显著;DMSO浓度为25%及30%时,冻精与鲜精的彗星率及损伤系数差异显著;冻精的彗星率与抗冻剂DMSO浓度成正相关。黑鲷鲜精及冻精核的DNA损伤主要为轻度和中度损伤,重度损伤比例较低,完全损伤仅存在于25%及30%DMSO为抗冻剂的冻精中,且比例低。分析认为,较高浓度的DMSO是引起冻精核DNA损伤的主要原因。  相似文献

Sperm whales ( Physeter macrocephalus ) and beaked whales ( Mesoplodon spp. and Ziphius cavirostris ) are deep-diving cetaceans that frequent shelf-edge and Gulf Stream waters off the northeast U. S. coast. Sighting data collected during seven summer (1990, 1991, 1993, and 1995–1998) shipboard surveys were analyzed using a geographic information system to determine habitat use based on bathymetric and oceanographic features. Although sighting rates were lower for beaked whales, both taxa occupied similar habitats. Beaked whales were concentrated at the colder shelf edge, whereas sperm whales were associated with warmer off-shelf water. Mean sighting rates for both taxa were higher in canyon features, but only beaked whale sighting rates were significantly different between canyon and non-canyon habitat (Wilcoxon signed rank test P = 0.007). Within the shared habitat, the two taxa were separated at fine-scale based on oceanographic features.  相似文献

Phylogenetic analysis of 13 substantially complete mitochondrial DNA genome sequences (14,036 bp) from 10 taxa of gadine codfishes and pollock provides highly corroborated resolution of outstanding questions on their biogeographic evolution. Of 6 resolvable nodes among species, 4 were supported by >95% of bootstrap replications in parsimony, distance, likelihood, and similarly high posterior probabilities in bayesian analyses, one by 85%-95% according to the method of analysis, and one by 99% by one method and a majority of the other two. The endemic Pacific species, walleye pollock (Theragra chalcogramma), is more closely related to the endemic Atlantic species, Atlantic cod (Gadus macrocephalus), than either is to a second Pacific endemic, Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus). The walleye pollock should thus be referred to the genus Gadus as originally described (Gadus chalcogrammus Pallas 1811). Arcto-Atlantic Greenland cod, previously regarded as a distinct species (G. ogac), are a genomically distinguishable subspecies within pan-Pacific G. macrocephalus. Of the 2 endemic Arctic Ocean genera, Polar cod (Boreogadus) as the outgroup to Arctic cod (Arctogadus) and Gadus sensu lato is more strongly supported than a pairing of Boreogadus and Arctogadus as sister taxa. Taking into consideration historical patterns of hydrogeography, we outline a hypothesis of the origin of the 2 endemic Pacific species as independent but simultaneous invasions through the Bering Strait from an Arcto-Atlantic ancestral lineage. In contrast to the genome data, the complete proteome sequence (3830 amino acids) resolved only 3 nodes with >95% confidence, and placed Alaska pollock outside the Gadus clade owing to reversal mutations in the ND5 locus that restore ancestral, non-Gadus, amino acid residues in that species.  相似文献

Clarias batrachus (L.) and C. macrocephalus Gunther were collected monthly between October 1982 and September 1984 from Pendang, Kedah, Malaysia. The caryophyllid cestode Lytocestus parvulus Furtado, 1963 was found in 37.7% of C. batrachus examined, with a mean intensity of 11.3. Infection of the cestode in C. macrocephalus was minimal, so detailed study was not attempted. In C. batrachus , no seasonal cycles of prevalence, mean intensity or maturation of the cestode were detected. The prevalence and mean intensity of L. parvulus decreased with increasing size of the fish. The first segment of the intestine was the preferred site where larger numbers of the cestodes and the greatest numbers of mature parasites were found. The number and maturation decreased towards the posterior end of the intestine.  相似文献

A hitherto undescribed population of gobies in the Greek brackish karstic Lake Vouliagmeni was identified as Millerigobius macrocephalus. Molecular phylogenetic analysis using partial mitochondrial ribosomal DNA sequences situates this species as a sister taxon to Zebrus zebrus, thus confirming earlier morphological work. Morphological variation as compared to previous studies on this species is discussed. This is the first report of M. macrocephalus occurring inland and under oligohaline conditions, underlining that our knowledge on diversity and distribution of the European gobiid fauna is still far from complete. The occurrence of this rarely observed fish species might enhance the conservational importance of the lake under study.  相似文献

以野生太平洋鳕为材料,采用植物血球凝集素(PHA)及秋水仙素体内注射法,取头肾细胞经低渗、固定后,常规空气干燥法制备染色体标本,并对其染色体核型进行了分析。结果表明,太平洋鳕的二倍体染色体数目为2n=46,核型公式为:2n=8m+6sm+20st+12t,NF=60,即有4对中部着丝点染色体、3对亚中部着丝点染色体、10对亚端部着丝点染色体和6对端位着丝点染色体,染色体臂数为NF=60;染色体经银染后,Ag-NORs在不同间期细胞中表现出多态性,数目为13,其中2个Ag-NORs的频率最高(82%);在分裂相中,具有1个Ag-NORs的频率最高(87.1%),且在第12对亚端部着丝点染色体的一条带有明显的次缢痕,为Ag-NORs所在区域,并未发现Ag-NORs联合现象及性别相关的异型染色体。    相似文献

To investigate the genetic diversity and describe the population structure in Gadus macrocephalus, a 452 base pair (bp) fragment of the mitochondrial DNA control region was analysed in 259 individuals. The results showed remarkably low nucleotide diversity and a lack of genealogical structure. Small but significant genetic differentiations, however, were detected among north-western Pacific populations, but no large-scale regional differences were detected. These results indicate that populations of G. macrocephalus in the north-western Pacific are genetically subdivided and represent evolutionary lineages that should be managed individually.  相似文献

The allocreadiid digenean Sphaerostoma bramae (Müller) was found in three of 602 eels, Anguilla anguilla (L.), caught over a period of 25 months from drains and rivers in the lower River Trent drainage area. Eleven, 15 and 32 specimens of S. bramae were found in the posterior 40% of the respective host's intestine. Concurrent infestations with Proteocephalus macrocephalus, Acanthocephalus clavula and Rhaphidascaris acus were observed. The results are discussed in relation to the helminthology and ecology of the eel.  相似文献

The parasites of 121 eels from three contrasting sites in the Corrib catchment area, western Ireland, were investigated. Thirteen species, Ergasilus gibbus, Diplostomum gasierostei, Diplostomum spathaceum, Sphaerostoma bramae. Bothrocephalus claviceps, Proteocephalus macrocephalus, Camallanus lacustris, Cucullanus truttae, Paraquimperia tenerrima, Raphidascaris acus, Acanthocephalus clavula, Acanthocephalus lucii and Pomphorhynchus laevis , were recorded. Two species, P. macrocephalus and P. tenerrima , have not previously been reported from Ireland. Microhabitat preferences of the parasites were noted. Variations in the occurrence and intensities of the parasites observed were analyzed in relation to sampling period, host habitat and characteristics of the eel populations studied. A variety of factors were shown to be of importance, including composition of the fish communities and distributional patterns of intermediate hosts and piscivorous birds. Differences were noted in the parasit-ocoenoses of eels in still and running water sites. The occurrence and intensities of infection of several parasite species were shown to be related to age and size of host: the occurrence of B. claviceps. C. truttae, P. tenerrima and R. acus was shown to be related to either age or size of eels, which is accounted for by the fact that eels become increasingly piscivorous with age and increasing size. Little evidence of interspecific interactions was noted.  相似文献

通过二代基因测序技术获得太平洋鳕(Gadus macrocephalus)线粒体基因组全序列, 对线粒体基因进行了注释, 对其序列结构进行了分析。研究结果表明, 太平洋鳕线粒体基因组全长16569 bp, 共编码13个蛋白质, 并且包含了22个tRNA, 2个rRNA以及1个D-Loop区。碱基组成存在明显的AT偏向和弱AT负偏斜现象。太平洋鳕线粒体在蛋白质编码基因中共有5种终止密码子, 包含哺乳动物线粒体常见终止密码子AGG与AGA。除tRNA-Ser(GCT)基因缺失二氢尿嘧啶臂(DHU臂)外, 其余tRNA均能形成典型的三叶草结构。D-Loop区只存在与终止结合序列区(Terminal associated sequences, TAS)和保守序列框(Conserved sequences blocks, CSB)功能类似的序列, 并且出现17 bp的嘧啶序列。非编码区含有一段保守的控制轻链复制起始的序列(OL)及一段74 bp的基因间隔区。基于线粒体基因组全序列和Cytb基因, 分别构建了鳕形目下几种鳕的进化树, 结果为揭示太平洋鳕进化地位提供了重要依据。  相似文献

The infection status of marine fish and cephalopods with Anisakis simplex third stage larva (L3) was studied over a period of 1 year. A total of 2,537 specimens, which consisted of 40 species of fish and 3 species of cephalopods, were purchased from the Cooperative Fish Market in Busan, Korea, from August 2006 to July 2007. They were examined for A. simplex L3 from the whole body cavity, viscera, and muscles. A. simplex L3 were confirmed by light microscopy. The overall infection rate reached 34.3%, and average 17.1 larvae were parasitized per infected fish. Fish that recorded the highest infection rate was Lophiomus setigerus (100%), followed by Liparis tessellates (90%), Pleurogrammus azonus (90%), and Scomber japonicus (88.7%). The intensity of infection was the highest in Gadus macrocephalus (117.7 larvae per fish), followed by S. japonicus (103.9 larvae) and L. setigerus (54.2 larvae). Although abundance of A. simplex L3 was not seasonal in most of the fish species, 10 of the 16 selected species showed the highest abundance in February and April. A positive correlation between the intensity of L3 infection and the fish length was obvious in S. japonicus and G. macrocephalus. It was likely that A. simplex L3 are more frequently infected during the spring season in some species of fish. Our study revealed that eating raw or undercooked fish or cephalopods could still be a source of human infection with A. simplex L3 in Korea.  相似文献
