It has been shown that pregnancy specific beta 1-globulin (SBG) is found in the rat blood serum on the 6--7th day of pregnancy. SBG reaches the maximum by the end of pregnancy and is not detected already at the 3d--4th day after delivery. The placenta is the site of the SBG snythesis. Other organs of the pregnant rat are not able to incorporate radioactive aminoacids into the protein in vitro.  相似文献

The hydrolysis of triglycerides by grossly normal male human aortas has been studied in vitro. The tissue contains an acid lipase (pH optimum, 5.4) and an alkaline lipase (pH optimum, 8.8). Both lipases catalyze the hydrolysis of saturated triglycerides; the rate decreases with increasing fatty acyl chain from C(10) to C(18). Glycerol trioleate, trilinoleate, and trilinolenate are hydrolyzed at similar rates. Alkaline lipase is inhibited about 50% at 7.2 mm glycerol trioleate, while acid lipase is unaffected at this concentration. Both lipases are activated by Ca(++) ions. The acid lipase is easily inactivated by deionized water used either as a homogenizing or dialyzing medium. Acid lipase is strongly inhibited by BSA, sodium deoxycholate, and sodium taurocholate; alkaline lipase is unaffected by BSA and is activated about twofold by bile salts. The products of hydrolysis of glycerol trioleate by aortic lipases are predominantly oleic acid and glycerol 1,2-dioleate with a small accumulation of glycerol monooleate. The aortic preparations appear to contain inhibitors for both the acid and alkaline lipase. The substance which inhibits alkaline lipase also inhibits pancreatic lipase; it is heat-stable and dialyzable. The inhibitor of the acid lipase is also heat-stable but is nondialyzable.  相似文献

Thirty-six patients, 19 men and 17 women, presented at age 18 or older between 1952 and 1974 with coarctation of the aorta. Of the 14 (39%) who had associated cardiovascular disease, 12 had aortic stenosis or insufficiency or both. Three patients had infections-two, endocarditis (aortic valve) and one, endarteritis. Three of the seven patients who did not undergo an operation are alive, two at more than 50 years of age. Five patients had myocardial infarctions, two at 35 years of age. Twenty-nine (80%) had operations; in eight instances the patient was over age 40. All 18 patients undergoing repair of isolated coarctation survived, while only 7 of the 11 patients with associated cardiovascular lesions who underwent repair recovered. Aortic valvular disease and myocardial infarction are serious complicating factors in coarctation of the aorta.  相似文献

This paper is an analytical study on the pulse wave velocities in the aorta. In conformity to a physiologic state of loading, the distensibility of the vessel wall has been accounted for. The wall material is treated by using the theory of large elastic deformations. The orthotropicity of wall tissues and the effect of the surrounding tissues have been incorporated in the analysis which is based on the use of the strain energy function suggested by Vaishnavet al. Numerical values of the wave velocities of the canine middle descending thoracic aorta are computed by using the derived analytical expressions.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to determine whether the production or release of the endothelium-dependent relaxatory factor is impaired in atherosclerotic New Zealand White rabbits. Atherosclerosis was induced by feeding a diet containing 2% cholesterol for 6 weeks. The production or release of endothelium-dependent relaxatory factor was assayed as follows. A 5-cm length of aorta donor was perfused with Krebs-bicarbonate buffer and the perfusate drained over a deendothelialized ring of recipient aorta set up for recording isometric tension. The recipient was precontracted with norepinephrine (0.2 mumol/L) in the perfusate. When acetylcholine was added to the perfusate, the recipient relaxed in a dose-dependent manner. This assay was used to compare the relaxatory responses produced in recipient rings by adding acetylcholine to donors from atherosclerotic and control rabbits. The relaxation produced by atherosclerotic donors were smaller than those generated by control donors (16.5 +/- 4.9 vs. 32.7 +/- 5.3%; n = 10, p less than 0.05). It is suggested that in atherosclerotic rabbits the ability of aortic endothelium to produce or release endothelium-dependent relaxatory factor is impaired.  相似文献

Collagen and elastin synthesis in the developing chick aorta   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Thoracic aortas from 8- to 18-day embryonic chicks were incubated in vitro for 30 min with [3H]glycine and the newly synthesized, labeled proteins were subjected to polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in sodium dodecyl sulfate. The gels were fractionated and the incorporation of label into procollagen (125,000 Mr) and tropoelastin (70,000 Mr) was estimated by summation of the radioactivity found in the appropriate regions of the gel. The analyses showed that at Day 8 approximately 14% of the incorporated [3H]glycine was found in procollagen and 22% in tropoelastin. In the following 6 days of development, there was a significant decline in the relative incorporation into procollagen and an increase into tropoelastin so that at Days 14–18 less than 10% of the label was found in collagen and 40% was now found in tropoelastin. Since glucocorticoids have been shown to alter the rate of synthesis of other proteins in the developing chick, 150 μg of hydrocortisone was injected into 8-day eggs and 24 h later the aortas were incubated and treated as described above. The pattern of protein synthesis exhibited by the hormone-treated aortas resembled that of 14- to 18-day embryos. Furthermore, incubation of 8-day aortas with 10?8m hydrocortisone for 24 h produced a significant increase in the rate of elastin synthesis relative to that of other proteins. These results demonstrate that collagen and elastin synthesis vary during development of the chick aorta and they suggest that glucocorticoids may be involved in the control of their synthesis.  相似文献

In dynamics of the experimental hypercholesterolemia in rabbits, peculiarities of endothelial regeneration have been studied. Comparison of proliferative activity level in endotheliocytes with structural-functional state of the endothelial monolayer at atherogenesis makes it possible to consider, that the lesion of the endothelium cannot be regarded as an initiating factor for formation of atherosclerotic lesions. Formation of the lesions in the internal lining of the arteries is preceded by certain disorders in permeability of the endothelial barrier at increasing concentration of cholesterin in blood plasma, accompanying with a sharp activation of the cell proliferative activity. When lipid plates and atherosclerotic plaques are already formed, the processes of the endothelial damage and regeneration occur in parallel. The regeneration is ensured with an intensive proliferation and growth of endotheliocytes onto deendotheliolized areas of the damaged intima.  相似文献
