Twenty-one flavonoid glycosides were isolated from the leaves of 22 North AmericanVitis L. taxa, representing two subgenera and five series. Three chemical groups were evident: one producing flavonols, flavones, and C-glycosylflavones, a second producing flavonols and flavones, and a third producing only flavonols. These three chemical groups did not correspond to any of the subgeneric groupings based on morphology. However, flavonoid distributions within series in each subgenus correlate well with morphological data. Parallel flavonoid evolution within each series is thought to account for this lack of subgeneric and interserial flavonoid distinction. The flavonoid data indicate that seriesCordifoliae of subgenusVitis, particularlyV. vulpina L., is the most closely related group to subgenusMuscadinia (Planch.)Rehder, and represents an evolutionary link between the two subgenera.  相似文献

The development of protocols for the conservation of fungi requires knowledge of the factors controlling their distribution, diversity, and community composition. Here we compare patterns of variation in fungal communities across New Zealand's Nothofagus forests, reportedly the most myco-diverse in New Zealand and hence potentially key to effective conservation of fungi in New Zealand. Diversity of leaf endophytic fungi, as assessed by culturing on agar plates, is assessed for three Nothofagus sp. growing in mixed stands from four sites. Host species was found to have a greater influence on fungal community assemblage than site. The leaf endophyte communities associated with Nothofagus solandri and Nothofagus fusca (both Nothofagus subgenus Fuscopora), were more similar to each other than either were to the community associated with Nothofagus menziesii (Nothofagus subgenus Lophozonia). The broad taxonomic groups isolated, identified on the basis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences, were similar to those found in similar studies from other parts of the world, and from an earlier study on the endophyte diversity in four podocarp species from New Zealand, but there were few matches at species level. Average levels of endophyte species diversity associated with single Nothofagus species and single podocarp species were similar, despite historical literature and collection data recording more than twice as many fungal species on average from the Nothofagus species. The significance of these findings to fungal conservation is discussed.  相似文献

Three leaf and two cupule forms of Nothofagus from the Early Oligocene deposit at Lea River are assigned to the previously described species Nothofagus tasmanica, N. lobata, N. gunnii, N glandularis and N. bulbosa. A single leaf specimen is possibly referable to Nothofagus subgenus Brassospora. Nothofagus microphylla , previously described from Monpeelyata, is separated into two species. These two species are N. microphylla and a new deciduous species named Nothojagus martinii. N. murophylla is transferred from the Nothofagus subgenus Lophozonia to subgenus Nothofagus , based upon cuticular characteristics. Nothw bulbosa and Nothojiis gunnii are also present at Monpeelyata. It is proposed that both N. lobata and N. microphylla have heterophyllous shoots and thus two leaf morphologies. Evolutionary and environmental relationships between Nothofagus species at Lea River, Monpeelyata and Little Rapid River are discussed. Large scale disturbance and increased seasonality are predicted to have caused the extinction of Nothofqus subgenus Nothofagus in Australia.  相似文献

In order to establish an updated checklist of terrestrial gastropod from Tunisia, a revision of the species of Sphincterochilidae is presented, using bibliographic and museum records and the results of our own field work. As a result, only two species, Sphincterochila candidissima and Sphincterochila tunetana, are accepted to occur in Tunisia, and their type specimens are illustrated. The study of the morphological characters of the genital organs of both species clarified their subgeneric affiliation. Comparison of Sphincterochila tunetana with Sphincterochila cariosa from Lebanonshowed that the first has to be classified within the subgenus Albea, and the latter within Sphincterochila s. str.; the subgenus Rima Pallary, 1910 remains in the synonymy of Sphincterochila s. str. Bibliographic records of Sphincterochila baetica and Sphincterochila otthiana from Tunisia could not be confirmed, the latter probably lives close to the border with Algeria.  相似文献

Nine species from the genus Stachys L. representing subgenera Stachys and Betonica were surveyed for flavonoid glycosides by means of HPLC coupled to diode-array detection and LC-APCI-MS. Those species belonging to subgenus Betonica were characterised by the presence of glycosides of tricetin methyl ethers, including a new derivative, which was isolated from S. scardica Griseb. and identified as tricetin 3',4',5' -trimethyl ether 7-O-beta-glucopyranoside by spectroscopic methods. This type of flavonoid was absent from species belonging to subgenus Stachys and can be considered as a chemosystematic marker for subgenus Betonica.  相似文献

Dispersals versus vicariance events and the presence of subgenus Brassospora in New Caledonia are two riddles of Nothofagus biogeography, a genus also distributed in New Guinea, New Zealand, South America, Southeast Australia, and Tasmania. Within a cladistic framework using the software COMPONENT 2.0, we demonstrate that most parsimonious area cladograms (areagrams) sensu cladistic biogeography need not always be the most plausible explanation nor reflect alternative geological hypotheses. The most parsimonious Nothofagus history sensu historical biogeography is reconstructed where a minimum of dispersed taxa is hypothesized and vicariance events are identified. A fully resolved well-established Nothofagus phylogeny was reconciled with three geological hypotheses (geograms) of East Gondwana break-up: (a) the conventional view, (b) an Australian—New Caledonian relationship, and (c) a biotic interchange between New Guinea and New Caledonia. Fossils determined to subgenus were optimized to the predicted lineages in the reconciled tree. Due to extensive extinctions, a maximum of three vicariance events are inferred, all being basal in the subgenera, an indication of subgeneric diversification prior to the break-up of Gondwana. Two taxa, N. gunnii and N. menziesii, are hypothesized as being long-distance dispersed. The most parsimonious solution suggests a close relationship between New Guinea and New Caledonia, supporting a Brassospora colonization route, but this hypothesis fails to predict numerous extinct lineages observed in the fossil record and thus must be rejected. The traditional break-up sequence of Gondwana is not the most parsimonious solution, indicating one incongruent node, but causes no overall incongruence with the fossil record. Considering all parameters, the occurrence of Brassospora in New Caledonia is most parsimoniously explained as a single colonization event from New Zealand where the subgenus subsequently went extinct in the Pliocene.  相似文献

Flavonoid compounds from 36 of the 38 known taxa of the genusArceuthobium (dwarf mistletoes) were examined. The flavonoid chemistry of the genus is rather uniform, all taxa producing 3-O-glycosides of the flavonols quercetin and myricetin. No infraspecific chemical variation was encountered, and in those instances where subspecific taxa are recognized, their chemistry was uniform. At the subgeneric level, members of subgenusArceuthobium synthesize primarily glucosides, whereas galactosides are more common in subgenusVaginata. In two of the four Old World species of subgenusArceuthobium (A. juniperi- procerae andA. oxycedri) only myricetin 3-O-glucoside was detected. There are no absolute flavonoid differences between subgenera, sections, or series. On the other hand, flavonoids are useful in several instances at the species level. In several cases, chemical data lend support to the recognition of species which in the past have been considered doubtfully distinct on the basis of morphology.  相似文献

Eighty-seven populations, representing eight species of Amica subgenus Austromontana, were examined for flavonoids. A total of 22 compounds, including simple and methylated flavone and flavonol glycosides as well as methylated aglycones, were isolated and identified. The two widespread species, A. cordifolia and its presumed early derivative A. latifolia, are ancestral species of the subgenus. From these two species, major evolutionary diversification within the subgenus has taken place largely in the Klamath region of Oregon and California, resulting in the formation of several rare, endemic species. These endemics are generally characterized by reduced flavonoid profiles and/or an increase in the number of methylated aglycones while, in contrast, the wider ranging species have few methylated aglycones and more glycosides. However, one species, A. viscosa, a rare volcanic endemic, exhibits the most elaborate and specialized flavonoid profile within the subgenus.  相似文献

The obligate, biotrophic association among species of the fungal genus Cyttaria and their hosts in the plant genus Nothofagus often is cited as a classic example of cophylogeny and is one of the few cases in which the biogeography of a fungus is commonly mentioned or included in biogeographic analyses. In this study molecular and morphological data are used to examine hypotheses regarding the cophylogeny and biogeography of the 12 species of Cyttaria and their hosts, the 11 species of Nothofagus subgenera Lophozonia and Nothofagus. Our results indicate highly significant overall cophylogenetic structure, despite the fact that the associations between species of Cyttaria and Nothofagus usually do not correspond in a simple one to one relationship. Two major lineages of Cyttaria are confined to a single Nothofagus subgenus, a specificity that might account for a minimum of two codivergences. We hypothesize other major codivergences. Numerous extinction also are assumed, as are an independent parasite divergence followed by host switching to account for C. berteroi. Considering the historical association of Cyttaria and Nothofagus, our hypothesis may support the vicariance hypothesis for the trans-Antarctic distribution between Australasian and South American species of Cyttaria species hosted by subgenus Lophozonia. It also supports the hypothesis of transoceanic long distance dispersal to account for the relatively recent relationship between Australian and New Zealand Cyttaria species, which we estimate to have occurred 44.6-28.5 mya. Thus the history of these organisms is not only a reflection of the breakup of Gondwana but also of other events that have contributed to the distributions of many other southern hemisphere plants and fungi.  相似文献

The leaves of the Japanese Alnus sieboldiana have been extracted with n-hexane and then with methanol. A bioactivity-guided approach based on MTT assay for growth inhibition and quantitative real-time PCR for TNF-α inhibitory activity was taken to identify the active compounds in EtOAc soluble fraction of the methanol extract. From this active fraction, seven compounds have been isolated and four compounds (pinosylvin, galangin, quercetin and methyl gallate) have been examined for their dose-response effect on the viability of A549 cells and on TNF-α inhibitory activity. Based on MTT assay, all of the four examined compounds inhibit growth of human lung cancer cells. Among four tested compounds only galangin (3,5,7-trihydroxyflavone) significantly inhibited TNF-α gene expression in A549 cells (IC50 = 94 μM). Taken together, this finding suggests that galangin may be useful in cancer prevention.  相似文献

The genus Etheostoma is the most diverse clade of freshwater fishes in North America. While studies have been performed with complete sampling of a single subgenus, none have included representatives of all remaining subgenera. The subgenus Oligocephalus is the largest, consisting of 25-27 species in four species groups, and its monophyly has never been clearly demonstrated. The monophyly of this subgenus and its constituent groups was tested using parsimony and Bayesian analyses of ND2 (mtDNA) and the first intron of S7 (nDNA) with complete species sampling from Oligocephalus and complete subgeneric sampling from Etheostoma. Although the subgenus Oligocephalus was not recovered as a monophyletic group in any analyses, monophyletic E. whipplei, Southwestern Darter, and E. spectabile (in part) species groups were recovered in all analyses. All analyses agree that E. okaloosae and both subspecies of E. hopkinsi are not closely related to other members of the subgenus Oligocephalus. E. exile is, however, presenting the strongest evidence yet that recognition of the subgenus Boleichthys is unwarranted.  相似文献

(2S)-Flavanones (naringenin and pinocembrin) are key intermediates in the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway in plants. Recombinant Escherichia coli cells containing four genes for a phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, cinnamate/coumarate:CoA ligase, chalcone synthase, and chalcone isomerase, in addition to the acetyl-CoA carboxylase, have been established for efficient production of (2S)-naringenin from tyrosine and (2S)-pinocembrin from phenylalanine. Further introduction of the flavone synthase I gene from Petroselinum crispum under the control of the T7 promoter and the synthetic ribosome-binding sequence in pACYCDuet-1 caused the E. coli cells to produce flavones: apigenin (13 mg/l) from tyrosine and chrysin (9.4 mg/l) from phenylalanine. Introduction into the E. coli cells of the flavanone 3β-hydroxylase and flavonol synthase genes from the plant Citrus species led to production of flavonols: kaempferol (15.1 mg/l) from tyrosine and galangin (1.1 mg/l) from phenylalanine. The combinatorial biosynthesis of the flavones and flavonols in E. coli is promising for the construction of a library of various flavonoid compounds and un-natural flavonoids in bacteria.  相似文献

报道我国蚋属1新纪录亚属,魔蚋亚属Subgenus Morops并记述1新种,即鹿角魔蚋S.(M.)antlerum sp.nov。该新种具有魔蚋亚属的一般特征:中胸胸侧膜和下后侧片具毛;雄蚋后足基跗节侧缘平行状,跗突中型:蛹腹部具正常的钩刺并在节9每侧具板状端钩和3个锚状钩。该新种虽然尚未发现雌虫和幼虫,但其蛹期形态特殊。头,胸毛大多分2支,鳃器特短,分成两个鹿角状分支管并在其总管亚基部和短支端部具3簇线状丝,根据这一独具特征可与澳大利亚,新几内亚,印度尼西亚,菲律宾和日本所有已知魔蚋亚属种类相区别。  相似文献

The native Azaleas of North America (Rhododendron: subgenus Pentanthera) produce 58 flavonoids in five aglycone classes: flavonols, dihydroflavonols, flavanones, dihydrochalcones and chalcones. A comparison of the flavonoids of selected samples of these species indicated that the compounds generally occur as species specific ensembles. Species were grouped into “alliances” based on common flavonoid constituents and a phylogenetic treatment of the group was developed. Evolutionary trends of flavonoids within subgenus Pentanthera are not well-defined but appear to be associated with a loss of the ability to synthesize some compounds and a decrease in diversity of glycosides and methoxylated flavonoids. Intraspecific variation in flavonoids was found in Rhododendron canescens, R. alabamense and R. austrinum when these were sampled on a population basis.  相似文献

MAYO, S. J., 1989. Observations of gynoecial structure in Philodendron (Araceae). The gynoecial morphology and anatomy of 15 species of the genus Philodendron , representing all the subgenera and a majority of the sections, are described and illustrated. The study emphasizes the morphology of the style, compitum and stylar canals; gynoecial vasculature is only superficially treated. Variation of gynoecial morphology in P . subgenus Meconostigma is described and illustrated and a pilot study of gynoecial ontogeny in this subgenus is presented. Ideas on phylogenetic trends in style and stylar canal morphology, ovary locule number, placentation and ovule number are discussed. Gynoecial characters are shown to be taxonomically useful at the subgeneric and sectional level in Philodendron. The following taxonomic and nomenclatural changes are made: P. section Pteromischum is raised to subgeneric rank. In P. subgenus Philodendron sections Polyspermium and Oligospermium are reduced to the synonymy of sections Philodendron and Calostigma respectively, and the following new names and combinations are made at subsectional rank: subsections Canniphyllum, Oligocarpidium, Bulaoanum and Eucardium.  相似文献

Cyttaria species (Leotiomycetes, Cyttariales) are obligate, biotrophic associates of Nothofagus (Hamamelididae, Nothofagaceae), the southern beech. As such Cyttaria species are restricted to the southern hemisphere, inhabiting southern South America (Argentina and Chile) and southeastern Australasia (southeastern Australia including Tasmania, and New Zealand). The relationship of Cyttaria to other Leotiomycetes and the relationships among species of Cyttaria were investigated with newly generated sequences of partial nucSSU, nucLSU and mitSSU rRNA, as well as TEF1 sequence data and morphological data. Results found Cyttaria to be defined as a strongly supported clade. There is evidence for a close relationship between Cyttaria and these members of the Helotiales: Cordierites, certain Encoelia spp., Ionomidotis and to a lesser extent Chlorociboria. Order Cyttariales is supported by molecular data, as well as by the unique endostromatic apothecia, lack of chitin and highly specific habit of Cyttaria species. Twelve Cyttaria species are hypothesized, including all 11 currently accepted species plus an undescribed species that accommodates specimens known in New Zealand by the misapplied name C. gunnii, as revealed by molecular data. Thus the name C. gunnii sensu stricto is reserved for specimens occurring on N. cunninghamii in Australia, including Tasmania. Morphological data now support the continued recognition of C. septentrionalis as a species separate from C. gunnii. Three major clades are identified within Cyttaria: one in South America hosted by subgenus Nothofagus, another in South America hosted by subgenera Nothofagus and Lophozonia, and a third in South America and Australasia hosted by subgenus Lophozonia, thus producing a non-monophyletic grade of South American species and a monophyletic clade of Australasian species, including monophyletic Australian and New Zealand clades. Cyttaria species do not sort into clades according to their associations with subgenera Lophozonia and Nothofagus.  相似文献

Tyrosinase inhibitory activity of flavonols, galangin, kaempferol and quercetin, was found to come from their ability to chelate copper in the enzyme. In contrast, the corresponding flavones, chrysin. apigenin and luteolin, did not chelate copper in the enzyme. The chelation mechanism seems to be specific to flavonols as long as the 3-hydroxyl group is free. Interestingly, flavonols affect the enzyme activity in different ways. For example, quercetin behaves as a cofactor and does not inhibit monophenolase activity. On the other hand, galangin inhibits monophenolase activity and does not act as a cofactor. Kaempferol neither acts as a cofactor nor inhibits monophenolase activity. However, these three flavonols are common to inhibit diphenolase activity by chelating copper in the enzyme.  相似文献

Numerous fragments of spatangoid echinoids have been discovered in the Pliocene deposits of Challans, in Vendée (western France). In spite of the fragmentary data of the samples, a reconstitution of a complete test could be realized using the different fragments and their symetrization. The general shape of the test, and its architectural and ornemental characters allow establishing the presence of the genus Spatangus in western France during the end of Neogene. It allows to precise the biogeography of the genus Spatangus and of the morphological group S. (S.) purpureus on the Atlantic coast after the Messinian crisis. The Pliocene species is compared to the Miocene Spatangus (Phymapatagus) brittanus, abundant in Anjou, Brittany and Touraine. This older species was refered to the subgenus Phymapatagus according to the presumed lack of primary tubercles on its posterior interambulacrum. The discovery of well-preserved specimens, with primary tubercles on every parts of the test, in the Middle Miocene of Brittany allows to refute this subgeneric distinction and to refer the species brittanus to the subgenus Spatangus (Spatangus). The presence of this subgenus in western France is finally confirmed from Middle Miocene to Pliocene.  相似文献

大蚊属Tipula Linnaeus,1758是大蚊科中种类最多的属,目前其单系性尚未得到全面验证.此外,长角大蚊亚属Tipula (Sivatipula) Alexander,1964因其极长的触角以及独有的精子泵结构,明显不同于大蚊属其他亚属,使其亚属的分类地位存在争议.本研究基于COI序列对19个大蚊属物种及5个其他属物种进行了系统发育分析,并计算了物种间的遗传距离.研究结果表明:(1)邻接树(NJ)和最大似然树(ML)均显示长角大蚊亚属与大蚊属其他亚属未形成单系,大蚊属的单系性没有得到支持;(2)基于遗传距离和系统发育分析并结合形态信息,结果显示长角大蚊亚属独立于大蚊属内其他亚属,应将其提升为属级分类单元.  相似文献

Yellow flavonols contribute to flower pigmentation in Asteraceae. In contrast to common flavonols, they show additional hydroxyl groups in position 6 and/or 8 of the aromatic A-ring in addition to the basic 5,7-hydroxylation pattern. An enzyme introducing a hydroxyl group in position 8 of flavonols and flavones was demonstrated for the first time with enzyme preparations from petals of Chrysanthemum segetum. Flavanones, dihydroflavonols and glucosylated flavonols and flavones were not accepted as substrates. The enzyme was localized in the microsomal fraction and uses NADPH and FAD as cofactors. Experiments with carbon monoxide/blue light and with antibodies specific for cytochrome P450 reductase did not indicate the involvement of a classical cytochrome P450 dependent monooxygenase in the reaction. Thus, the flavonoid 8-hydroxylase represents a novel type of hydroxylating enzyme in the flavonoid pathway. Apart from flavonoid 8-hydroxylase activity, the presence of all enzymes involved in the formation of flavonoid 7-O-glucosides in C. segetum was demonstrated. The pathway leading to 8-hydroxyflavonoids in C. segetum has been derived from enzyme activities and substrate specificities observed.  相似文献
