温度与发育速率关系模拟是昆虫学研究的一个重要内容, 传统基于经验风险最小的非线性参数模型(Logan模型、Lactin模型和王氏模型)存在诸多弊端。本文基于结构风险最小的改进支持向量回归(SVR)研究温度与棉铃虫Helicoverpa armigera蛹发育历期关系。结果表明: 与传统非线性模型相比, SVR模型性能优异; 基于全部92个样本, SVR模型拟合和留一法预测的决定系数R2分别为0.998和0.996, 估测的蛹期三基点温度更可信。从全部样本中依温度均匀选取部分样本实施独立预测, 当训练集为20个样本时, SVR模型独立预测的R2为0.981, 优于传统非线性模型中独立预测最佳的Lactin模型(R2=0.958); 当训练集进一步减少到12个样本时, SVR模型的R2仅降低到0.964, 而传统非线性模型均已不适用。结果提示SVR模型在小样本情况下较传统非线性模型优势明显, 在昆虫发育历期估测建模中有应用前景。  相似文献

Rapid acquisition of high-resolution 2D and 3D NMR spectra is essential for studying biological macromolecules. In order to minimize the experimental time, a non-linear sampling scheme is proposed for the indirect dimensions of multidimensional experiments. These data can be processed using the algorithm proposed by Dutt and Rokhlin (Appl. Comp. Harm. Anal. 1995, 2, 85–100) for fast Fourier transforms of non equispaced data. Examples of 1H−15N HSQC spectra are shown, where crowded correlation peaks can be resolved using non-linear acquisition. Simulated data have been used to analyze the artefacts produced by the Lagrange interpolation. As compared to non-linear processing methods, this algorithm is simple and highly robust since no parameters need to be adjusted by the user.  相似文献

The flux and continuity equations are presented for a non-linear diffusion of populations. The generalized diffusion-reaction equations are presented for both random and biased diffusion, where a bias is introduced toward the existing gradient of the population density. An ecological field experiment is presented and analyzed in light of the non-linear diffusion models. The dispersion of the population of intertidal snails near the Red Sea has been measured over a period of 20 months. The dispersion can be described by a one-dimensional random motion and the obtained diffusion coefficient 0·1 m2 day?1 is in good agreement with velocity and free path measurements of individual snails.  相似文献

1. The predatory caddisfly Rhyacophila vao Milne (Rhyacophilidae) displayed a 2-year, semivoltine life cycle in a small, spring-fed stream in southern Alberta, Canada. Three overlapping cohorts were identified throughout the 2-year sampling program, with five larval instars recognized. Larvae overwintered in instars I —ELI, developed to instar IV by summer and instar V by autumn. The second winter was spent in instar V, Pupation occurred from late May to August and did not commence until stream temperature exceeded 3°C. Adults were collected from mid-June to early September. 2. Larvae displayed a diphasic growth pattern: Phase I, a positive, non-linear growth rate for instars I-IV; Phase II, a constant growth rate during instar V. Phase I coincided with increasing stream temperatures in late winter and spring, where mean instantaneous growth rates (maximum of 2.78% dry wt day?1) were significantly correlated with stream temperatures. Although the duration of Phase II spanned a temperature range similar to that in Phase I, the instantaneous growth rate remained temperature-independent at 0.87% dry wt day?1. 3. Larvae exhibited a type III survivorship curve (i.e. an exponential decrease on an arithmetic scale), with the finite rate of mortality averaging 0.80% larvae day?1. 4. Cohort 1 (later part of 1983 year class) displayed lower total production compared with the equivalent growth phase in the 1984 year class (Cohort 2). In contrast, production of the non-linear and linear growth phases of Cohort 2 was similar. Periods of similar growth characteristics for Cohorts 1 and 2 had comparable P/B ratios for both the unadjusted and time-adjusted annual estimates, although higher ratios were observed for the non-linear growth phase of Cohort 2. Total cohort production (linear + non-linear growth phases) could only be calculated for Cohort 2, and was 870.2 ± 1011.4 mg dry wt m?2. The corresponding cohort P/B ratio was 5.01 and the adjusted annual P/B, 3.01. 5. Annual larval production (±SE) for the first and second years of the study was similar (Year 1, 480.0 ± 387.5mg dry wt m?2; Year 2, 526.9 ± 967.5mg dry wt m?2) as were unadjusted and annual P/B ratios.  相似文献

We analysed data from three Bulgarian reservoirs, with trophic status from meso to eutrophic. Two kinds of relations (non-allometric and allometric) of chlorophyll with phytoplankton density, biovolume and surface area were investigated. The non-allometric relationships compare these phytoplankton variables with chlorophyll-a concentration, while the allometric ones include comparisons of average individual volume (AIV) of phytoplankters with chlorophyll-a content per individual (Chl.N–1), per unit biovolume (Chl.BV–1) and per unit surface area (Chl.SA–1).Maximum values of the rank correlation of the three non-allometric relationships were found in the eutrophic reservoir. The highest allometric correlation coefficients were observed in the mesotrophic reservoir. Two non-allometric relationships, Chl with N and Chl ith BV calculated on unified data from all three reservoirs showed lower significance and a non-linear character. Chl-SA relationship was always statistically significant and varied from linear to slightly non-linear when calculated on weighed values. Two allometric relationships, AIV with Chl.BV–1 and AIV with Chl.N–1 seem to be linear. A third AIV and Chl.SA–1 was described by a polinomial of the second degree, indicating that the smallest and largest phytoplankton individuals have a similar chlorophyll content per unit surface area. At the highest trophy, the Chl.SA–1 seemed lowest.The frequently investigated relationship between chlorophyll-a and biovolume ranged from statistically not significant in the mesotrophic to highly significant in the eutrophic reservoir. This tendency was generalized by obtaining a statistically significant rank correlation between the levels of significance of chlorophyll-biovolume correlations and the corresponding chlorophyll-a concentrations. The non-linear character of the chlorophyll-biovolume relationship over a wide range of trophy was probably caused by changes in surface area-biovolume ratio.Deceased.  相似文献

Engineering non-classical states of the electromagnetic field is a central quest for quantum optics1,2. Beyond their fundamental significance, such states are indeed the resources for implementing various protocols, ranging from enhanced metrology to quantum communication and computing. A variety of devices can be used to generate non-classical states, such as single emitters, light-matter interfaces or non-linear systems3. We focus here on the use of a continuous-wave optical parametric oscillator3,4. This system is based on a non-linear χ2 crystal inserted inside an optical cavity and it is now well-known as a very efficient source of non-classical light, such as single-mode or two-mode squeezed vacuum depending on the crystal phase matching. Squeezed vacuum is a Gaussian state as its quadrature distributions follow a Gaussian statistics. However, it has been shown that number of protocols require non-Gaussian states5. Generating directly such states is a difficult task and would require strong χ3 non-linearities. Another procedure, probabilistic but heralded, consists in using a measurement-induced non-linearity via a conditional preparation technique operated on Gaussian states. Here, we detail this generation protocol for two non-Gaussian states, the single-photon state and a superposition of coherent states, using two differently phase-matched parametric oscillators as primary resources. This technique enables achievement of a high fidelity with the targeted state and generation of the state in a well-controlled spatiotemporal mode.  相似文献

Human renal (Na+ + K+)-ATPase exhibits a non-linear reaction rate which can be eliminated by purification of the enzyme. The activity in the microsomes and the first several stages of purification is nearly zero after 8 minutes of assay. The reaction of the purified enzyme, however, is linear with assay time. This change to a linear reaction rate correlates with the loss of cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase activity from the (Na+ + K+)-ATPase preparation.  相似文献

Insufficiency fracture following radiation therapy (RTx) is a challenging clinical problem and typical bone mass measures fail to predict these fractures. The goals of this research were to develop a mouse model that results in reduced bone strength following focal irradiation, quantify morphological and strength changes occurring over time, and determine if a positive correlation between bone morphology and strength is retained after irradiation. Right hind limbs of 13 week-old female Balb/c mice were irradiated (5 or 20 Gy) using a therapeutic X-ray unit. Left limbs served as control. Animals were euthanized at 2, 6, 12, or 26 weeks. Axial compression tests of the distal femur were used to quantify whole bone strength. Specimen-specific, non-linear finite element (FE) analyses of the mechanical tests were performed using voxel-based meshes with two different material failure models: a linear bone density–strength relationship and a non-linear ‘embrittled’ relationship. Radiation resulted in a dose dependent increase in cortical bone density and marked loss of trabecular bone, measured using micro-CT. An early (2 week) increase in bone volume was associated with an increase in bone strength following irradiation; at 12 weeks there was a loss of bone strength despite higher bone volume for irradiated limbs. There was a positive correlation between bone volume bone and strength in control (r2=0.63) but not irradiated femora (r2=0.08). FE analysis with a constant strain failure model resulted in improved prediction of bone strength for irradiated limbs (r2=0.34) and this was improved further with the embrittled material model (r2=0.46). In summary, focal irradiation leads to substantial changes in bone morphology and strength with time, where there is a decreased bone strength following irradiation in the face of increasing bone mass; FE models with a non-linear embrittled material model were most successful in simulating these experimental findings.  相似文献

Concentrations of Mg2+, glycine, yeast extract, biotin, acetaldehyde and peptone were optimized by a uniform design process for ethanol production by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Using non-linear step-wise regression analysis, a predictive mathematical model was established. Concentrations of Mg2+ and peptone were identified as the critical factors: 50 mM Mg2+ and 1.5% (w/v) peptone in the medium increased the final ethanol titre from 14.2% (v/v) to 17% (v/v) in 48 h.  相似文献

When n types of univalent ligands are competing for the binding to m types of protein sites, the determination of the system composition at equilibrium reduces to the solving of a non-linear system of n equations in C = [0;1] n . We present an iterative method to solve such a system. We show that the sequence presented here is always convergent, regardless of the initial value in C. Initial appraisals of the status of endangered large-mammal populations may have to depend on indices of population trend. Such indices may possibly be improved by using auxiliary variables. Various models were studied for populations of the Florida manatee (Trichechus manatus latirostris), Yellowstone grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis), and Hawaiian monk seal (Monachus schauinslandi). Several criteria for checking validity of the fitted models were considered, and the simple R2 criterion appears to provide useful comparisons. Multiple regression models overestimated the rate of change of the East Coast manatee population as determined from three other sources (a covariance model, a non-linear model, and the rate estimated from reproductive and survival data). A multiple regression model for grizzly bears using three auxiliary variables exhibited a fairly high R2 (0.84) and appeared to provide a better fit than did a non-linear model. A beach count index for Hawaiian monk seals seemed to be unreliable for year-to-year comparisons in contrast to total population counts and estimates from a capture-recapture method. The use of auxiliary variables for checking and improving trend index data appears feasible and well worthwhile.  相似文献

The effects of light and NO3- nutrition on 15NO3- influx in roots were investigated in young, 19-d-old, induced tomato plants grown at a constant air and solution temperature of 20C. Nitrate influx was measured by 15N accumulation for 5 min, on plants exposed to a wide range of exogenous concentrations, from 10 x 10-3 to 30 mol m-3. Influx kinetics, fitted to the data following a non-linear procedure, showed multiphasic patterns. The best fits were obtained when three pure and non-additive Michaelis-Menten kinetics were applied, with phase transitions at approximately 0.8 and 4 mol m-3. In plants grown at 3.0 mol m-3 NO3-, the asymptotic maximum influx rate (Imax) of each phase declined during the night until 24 h darkness. At the end of the day period, about a 2-fold enhancement of Imax was observed when plants were pretreated for 3 d with 0.2 instead of 3.0 mol m-3 NO3-. The influx rates measured at any given NO3- concentration and the Imax for any phase showed a negative non-linear correlation with plant nitrate concentration. Furthermore, the results suggest the existence of a set point, approximately 66 mol m-3 plant nitrate, for which influx is null at any given solution nitrate concentration. A model using modified Michaelis-Menten kinetics is proposed to predict the influx rate as a function of both solution and plant NO3- concentrations.  相似文献

This study aimed at evaluating forage intake and digestibility in ruminants using fecal nitrogen content, as well as validating a non-linear model to estimate digestibility in ruminants. A total of 58 conventional metabolism trials, carried out with sheep fed 27 forages (offered pure or in mixture) used in Rio Grande do Sul (RS) during the period 1969–1989 was analyzed. OM intake and OM digestibility (OMD) results were regressed linearly against fecal N, and OMD was also estimated from fecal crude protein (N × 6.25) content by a non-linear regression model. Fecal nitrogen excretion estimated forage intake in sheep with an R2 = 0.73, whereas a low R2 value of 0.36 was observed for OMD estimates. The equation obtained using the non-linear model was OMD = 0.7326 ? 0.3598 exp [(?0.9052 CP (g/kg OM))/100]. The parameters a (0.7326) and b (0.3598) estimated by the equation for all forages were significant (P<0.00001) and there was no effect of type of forage (P=0.38). The mean prediction error (MSPE), was 0.2379, indicating that the equation fit well to the data. The difference between estimated and observed organic matter digestibility was mainly caused by random variation (0.9765). The results indicated that the equation using the non-linear model developed with all forages can be used with enough precision to estimate the OM digestibility of forage consumed by sheep in Rio Grande do Sul.  相似文献

Erythroblasts of four vertebrate species (Triturus cristatus, Rana esculenta, Lacerta viridis and Gallus domesticus) differing markedly in their nuclear diploid DNA content, are used to study a possible relationship between cell cycle duration and DNA content. DNA is determined cytophotometrically and fluorometrically. The cell cycle is analysed by evaluating labelled mitoses after an injection of tritiated thymidine and also by double labelling with 14C- and 3H-thymidine. A direct but non-linear relationship is demonstrated between DNA content of erythroblast nuclei and the duration of DNA-synthesis.  相似文献

Species-richness (recorded as number of species in 16 m2 quadrats), in more than 60 coastal sites developed over various substrata, exhibited a significant non-linear relationship with soil total phosphorus extracted from associated soil samples. Although the general form of this relationship is not incompatible with a resource competition model, the significant proportion of the total variance accounted for by the species-richness/phosphorus relationship suggests that a more detailed examination of phosphorus use at a community level will be profitable.  相似文献

Non-linear regression and two-step linear fit methods were developed to determine the actual specific activity of 125I-ovine prolactin by radioreceptor self-displacement analysis. The experimental results obtained by the different methods are superposable. The non-linear regression method is considered to be the most adequate procedure to calculate the specific activity, but if its software is not available, the other described methods are also suitable.  相似文献

Excised anterior mitral leaflets exhibit anisotropic, non-linear material behavior with pre-transitional stiffness ranging from 0.06 to 0.09 N/mm2 and post-transitional stiffness from 2 to 9 N/mm2. We used inverse finite element (FE) analysis to test, for the first time, whether the anterior mitral leaflet (AML), in vivo, exhibits similar non-linear behavior during isovolumic relaxation (IVR). Miniature radiopaque markers were sewn to the mitral annulus, AML, and papillary muscles in 8 sheep. Four-dimensional marker coordinates were obtained using biplane videofluoroscopic imaging during three consecutive cardiac cycles. A FE model of the AML was developed using marker coordinates at the end of isovolumic relaxation (when pressure difference across the valve is approximately zero), as the reference state. AML displacements were simulated during IVR using measured left ventricular and atrial pressures. AML elastic moduli in the radial and circumferential directions were obtained for each heartbeat by inverse FEA, minimizing the difference between simulated and measured displacements. Stress–strain curves for each beat were obtained from the FE model at incrementally increasing transmitral pressure intervals during IVR. Linear regression of 24 individual stress–strain curves (8 hearts, 3 beats each) yielded a mean (±SD) linear correlation coefficient (r2) of 0.994±0.003 for the circumferential direction and 0.995±0.003 for the radial direction. Thus, unlike isolated leaflets, the AML, in vivo, operates linearly over a physiologic range of pressures in the closed mitral valve.  相似文献

Over the last century, anthropogenic activities have increased nitrogen (N) deposition considerably, which significantly affects ecosystem processes and has the potential to induce N saturation in the future. The continuous increase in N deposition may cause a non-linear response in soil respiration (Rs), an important component of carbon (C) cycling. However, little is known about N saturation threshold of soil respiration. In this study, we conducted coordinated experiments in four grassland types across northern China with four N addition levels to explore patterns in the Rs saturation threshold. Our results showed that an Rs saturation threshold generally exists in grassland ecosystems in response to N addition gradients. The N saturation threshold of Rs occurred at an average rate of 50 kg N ha−1 yr−1, but varied widely with grassland type; the N saturation threshold occurred at rates of 100, 50, 50, and 25 kg N ha−1 yr−1 in the alpine meadow, meadow steppe, typical steppe, and desert steppe, respectively. Autotrophic respiration (Ra) and heterotrophic respiration (Rh) responded to N addition gradients differently. Ra increased initially and became saturated at a rate of 50 kg N ha−1 yr−1 and declined thereafter. In contrast, Rh decreased monotonically after N addition. Structural equation models further confirmed that the effects of N addition gradients on Rs were primarily determined by the non-linear response of belowground biomass. Interestingly, the compiled global dataset showed that the N saturation threshold of Rs increased with precipitation and soil moisture. These findings indicate that the stimulating effect of N deposition on Rs and Ra might diminish with increasing N deposition in the future, especially in dry grassland ecosystems.

Vasopressin neurons generate distinctive phasic patterned spike activity in response to elevated extracellular osmotic pressure. These spikes are generated in the cell body and are conducted down the axon to the axonal terminals where they trigger Ca2+ entry and subsequent exocytosis of hormone-containing vesicles and secretion of vasopressin. This mechanism is highly non-linear, subject to both frequency facilitation and fatigue, such that the rate of secretion depends on both the rate and patterning of the spike activity. Here we used computational modelling to investigate this relationship and how it shapes the overall response of the neuronal population. We generated a concise single compartment model of the secretion mechanism, fitted to experimentally observed profiles of facilitation and fatigue, and based on representations of the hypothesised underlying mechanisms. These mechanisms include spike broadening, Ca2+ channel inactivation, a Ca2+ sensitive K+ current, and releasable and reserve pools of vesicles. We coupled the secretion model to an existing integrate-and-fire based spiking model in order to study the secretion response to increasing synaptic input, and compared phasic and non-phasic spiking models to assess the functional value of the phasic spiking pattern. The secretory response of individual phasic cells is very non-linear, but the response of a heterogeneous population of phasic cells shows a much more linear response to increasing input, matching the linear response we observe experimentally, though in this respect, phasic cells have no apparent advantage over non-phasic cells. Another challenge for the cells is maintaining this linear response during chronic stimulation, and we show that the activity-dependent fatigue mechanism has a potentially useful function in helping to maintain secretion despite depletion of stores. Without this mechanism, secretion in response to a steady stimulus declines as the stored content declines.  相似文献
