Type material of several polychaete species described by Enrique Rioja from Mexican coasts are lost, and the current status of some species is doubtful. Nereis
oligohalina (Rioja, 1946) was described from the Gulf of Mexico, but it has been considered a junior synonym of Nereis
occidentalis Hartman, 1945, or regarded as a distinct species with an amphiamerican distribution. On the other hand, Nereis
garwoodi González-Escalante & Salazar-Vallejo, 2003, described from Chetumal Bay, Caribbean coasts, could be confused with Nereis
oligohalina. In order to clarify these uncertainties, Nereis
oligohalina is redescribed based on specimens from the Mexican Gulf of Mexico, including a proposed neotype; further, Nereis
garwoodi is redescribed including the selection of lectotype and paralectotypes, and Nereis
confusa
sp. n. is described with material from the Gulf of California. A key for the identification of similar species and some comments about speciation in nereidid polychaetes are also included. 相似文献

Protosilvius gurupi
sp. n. (Tabanidae, Pangoniinae) is described and illustrated based on seven female and 53 male specimens collected in the Amazonian region at Reserva Biológica Gurupi, Centro Novo do Maranhão municipality, northwest Maranhão, Brazil. This is the first record of Protosilvius in northern Brazil and in the Amazon Basin. An illustrated key to all Protosilvius species is also presented. 相似文献

On incubation of B. subtilis RM125(arg15 leuA8 rM? mM?) with DNA from alkalophilic Bacillus, the transformants (Arg+Leu? or Leu?Arg+) appeared at pH 10. The transformants were able to grow even at pH 7. Alkalophilic Bacillus was resistant to bacteriophages π105D1C2·1012 grown on B. subtilis 1012(r-mM+) and π105D1C2·ISMR4 grown on B. subtilis ISMR4rM+rR+mM+mR+), but the recipient B. subtilis and the transformant(Arg+Leu?) were susceptible to both the of the bacteriophages. The results indicate that the transformant is a B. subtilis derivative and that alkalophilicity of alkalophilic Bacillus was transferred to B. subtilis. 相似文献

A new species of digenean, Pseudobacciger cheneyae n. sp., is described from the intestines of Weber’s chromis (Chromis weberi Fowler & Bean) from off Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef, Australia. This species differs from the three described species of Pseudobacciger Nahhas & Cable, 1964 [P. cablei Madhavi, 1975, P. harengulae Yamaguti, 1938 and P. manteri Nahhas & Cable, 1964] in combinations of the size of the suckers and the length of the caeca. The host of the present species is a perciform (Family Pomacentridae) which contrasts with previous records of the genus which are almost exclusively from clupeiform fishes. The genus Pseudobacciger is presently recognised within the family Faustulidae (Poche, 1926) but phylogenetic analyses of 28S and ITS2 rDNA show that the new species bears no relationship to species of four other faustulid genera (Antorchis Linton, 1911, Bacciger Nicoll, 1924, Paradiscogaster Yamaguti, 1934 and Trigonocryptus Martin, 1958) but that instead it is nested within the Gymnophalloidea (Odhner, 1905) as sister to the Tandanicolidae (Johnston, 1927). This result suggests that the Faustulidae is polyphyletic. 相似文献

We examined specimens of the macrostigma trout Salmo macrostigma, which refers to big black spots on the flanks, to assess whether it is an example of taxonomic inflation within the brown trout Salmo trutta complex. Using new specimens, publicly available data and a mitogenomic protocol to amplify the control and cytochrome b regions of the mitochondrial genome from degraded museum samples, including one syntype specimen, the present study shows that the macrostigma trout is not a valid species. Our results suggest the occurrence of a distinct evolutionary lineage of S. trutta in North Africa and Sicily. The name of the North African lineage is proposed for this lineage, which was found to be sister to the Atlantic lineage of brown trout, S. trutta. 相似文献

Gynichthys diakidnus n. g., n. sp. (Digenea: Cryptogonimidae) is described from the fish Plectorhinchus gibbosus (Lacépède) (Perciformes: Haemulidae) off Heron and Lizard Islands on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. The monotypic Gynichthys n. g. is distinguished from all other cryptogonimid genera by the combination of a fusiform body, the lack of oral spines,
a forebody that occupies approximately half or more of the body length, a deeply lobed ovary, opposite to slightly oblique
testes, a seminal vesicle that is confined mainly in the forebody and the presence of multiple gonotyls in the form of two
small slightly muscular pores or pseudosucker-like structures in the mid-line well anterior to the ventral sucker. Bayesian
inference analysis of LSU rDNA data revealed that G. diakidnus n. sp. grouped relatively distant to species of the cryptogonimid genus Oligogonotylus Watson, 1976, which also have multiple gonotyls, suggesting that the presence of multiple gonotyls is homoplasious and has
thus at least evolved twice in the family. The secondary structure of the internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) rDNA region
was inferred for G. diakidnus using minimum free energy and homology modelling algorithms. A four helix model was inferred with helices I and IV being
relatively short (<30 nucleotides) and helix three being the longest; this structure is homologous with that observed for

Data-base searches of records of the helminth parasites of South American and African freshwater fishes revealed only two pairs of species from genera endemic to the two regions. One pair, species of the primitive amphilinid cestode genus Nesolecithus Dönges &; Harder, 1966, has already been designated as likely Gondwana relicts. The second pair are the philometrid nematodes Nilonema gymnarchi Khalil, 1960 from Gymnarchus niloticus Cuvier (Gymnarchidae) in Africa and N. senticosum (Baylis, 1922) from the South American fish Arapaima gigas (Cuvier) (Arapaimidae). Both species are partly redescribed on the basis of light and scanning electron microscopical observations of the type-specimens, and their relationships are discussed. In view of the fact that both hosts are basal teleosts of the order Osteoglossiformes and they are the same two fish which harbour the amphilinid cestodes already indicated as Gondwana relics, the nematode pair is also deemed to be relictual. Mammalakis zambiensis n. sp. is described from the large intestine and caecum of Fukomys anselli (Burda, Zima, Scharff, Macholán & Kawalika), a bathyergid rodent endemic to Zambia. Morphological data for comparison with its three congeners, M. macrospiculum (Ortlepp, 1939), M. spalacis (Marcu, 1930) and M. spalaxi (Kozlov & Jangolenko, 1962) are provided. Based on studies of the type-material, observations of hitherto undescribed morphological characters of M. macrospiculum, a parasite of Bathyergus suillus (Schreber) (Hystricomorpha: Bathyergidae) in South Africa, are presented. To date, the generic diagnosis of Mammalakis Inglis, 1991 is based largely on characters of its type-species, M. macrospiculum. In having three rounded lips, not set-off from the body, a stout oesophagus with a flask-shaped posterior bulb, lateral alae that broaden on the level of the precloacal sucker and cloaca, and mature eggs with a smooth shell, M. zambienis n. sp. corresponds to the characters of the genus. However, the presence of lips with anterior flanges that were observed in M. zambiensis n. sp., and also for the first time in M. macrospiculum, are in contrast with the current diagnosis of Mammalakis. Further studies will be needed to determine if an amendment of the generic diagnosis is indicated. 相似文献

Divisispiculimermis mirus n. gen., n. sp., a mermithid parasitizing larvae of Chironomus sp. in the Cajón o Grande Stream, Córdoba, Argentina, is described. The new genus differs from all other mermithid genera in having paired spicules which are separated and divided into proximal and distal sectors. The other diagnostic characters of the genus are medium size, nematodes with the cuticle appearing smooth (lacking cross fibers under the light microscope); head separated from the rest of the body by a slight constriction at the level of the amphids, six cephalic papillae, mouth papillae absent, mouth opening posterior to level of cephalic papillae; six hypodermal chords at midbody; weakly S-shaped vagina; postparasitic juvenile with a tail appendage. 相似文献
