Responsiveness of cortisol and dehydroepiandrosterone to ACTH in children   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In a total of 101 children, the dehydroepiandrosterone (DHA) and cortisol (F) levels were measured before and after ACTH (Synacten) administration. F responsiveness was unchanged during development, while DHA responsiveness in healthy children was highest during adrenarche. In hypopituitary patients DHA levels were lower than in the controls, but responsiveness to ACTH showed similar changes during development. Children with Turner's syndrome and hypergonadotrophic males had the response in elevated DHA levels while ACTH-induced DHA response related to bone-age matched controls. We conclude that regulation of adrenal androgens is mediated by both ACTH and another hypothalamo-pituitary hormone, perhaps independent of gonadal activation, but requiring gonadal integrity.  相似文献

Male and female wild Norway rats (Rattus norvegicus Erxleben) and males and female albino outbred rats (Ipf:RIZ) were crossbred. The resulting animals (F1 hybrids) were the control, noninbred group (0% inbred). By systematic full-sib mating, two experimental groups (50 and 91% of inbred) were produced. Half of each group (both males and females) was exposed to physical stress (3 days of starvation and 3 hr of swimming). The other half of each group was anesthetized using ether to collect blood. The anterior pituitary hormone concentrations of prolactin (PRL), corticotropin (ACTH), and growth hormone (rGH) in blood serum were determined by the radioimmunoassay method. Significant relationships between the PRL, ACTH, and rGH concentrations in blood serum and the inbreeding coefficient were observed: A significant PRL content decrease in blood serum occurred (linear function) and the rGH and ACTH content diminished significantly rapidly (quadratic function). These changes were affected by an increase in homozygosity. Stress significantly influenced PRL, ACTH, and rGH concentrations as well. The sex of rats significantly determined PRL and ACTH content only. Hormone levels were also influenced by interactions between the factors studied (inbred level, sex, stress).  相似文献

The relative potency in the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) suppression of both prednisolone and betamethasone was examined in an acute study with normal volunteers and in a chronic study with glucocorticoid-treated patients. Circadian rhythm of plasma cortisol was studied after a single dose administration of 5 to 30 mg prednisolone or 0.5 to 3.0 mg betamethasone at 8:00 hr. Morning-rise of plasma cortisol occurred on the morning after the administration of 30 mg or less prednisolone but no morning rise was noted after the administration of 1.0 mg or more betamethasone. Plasma ACTH was slightly elevated on the morning after 30 mg prednisolone administration but showed low levels throughout the night after 3.0 mg betamethasone administration. Plasma cortisol responsiveness to ACTH was examined in patients before and during therapy with either prednisolone or betamethasone. The basal cortisol level was not suppressed and the responsiveness to ACTH remained nearly normal during long-term 5 mg prednisolone therapy, but these were completely suppressed during long-term 5 mg betamethasone therapy. The responsiveness to ACTH was nearly normal in patients receiving alternate-day therapy with prednisolone in such large doses as 50 or 60 mg every other day, but was completely suppressed in patients receiving 1.0 mg betamethasone every other day. The relative potency of betamethasone in acute and chronic suppressive effects on the HPA system seems to be much stronger than that of prednisolone in equivalent doses with comparable anti-inflammatory effects. It is also suggested that the alternate-day therapy with such long-acting steroids as betamethasone are useless in preventing HPA suppression.  相似文献

The differential growth effects of hGH and IGF-I on the upper/lower (U/L) body segment in relation to height (Ht) were analyzed in 15 patients with isolated Growth hormone deficiency (IGHD,:7M, 8F) mean age 5.0 +/- 3.2 (SD) years treated with hGH; 21 patients with multiple pituitary hormone deficiency including growth hormone (MPHD: 14M, 7F) aged 10.0 +/- 3.8, treated with hGH; 9 patients with Laron Syndrome (LS) (4M,5F) aged 6.9 +/- 5.6 years treated with IGF-I; 9 boys with intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) aged 6.3 +/- 1.25 years treated by hGH; and 22 boys with idiopathic short stature (ISS) aged 8.0 +/- 1.55 years treated by hGH. The dose of hGH was 33 microg/kg/day, that of IGF-I 180-200 microg/kg/day. RESULTS: the U/L body segment ratio in IGHD patients decreased from 2.3 +/- 0.7 to 1.1 +/- 0.7 (p <0.001), and the Ht SDS increased from -4.9 +/- 1.3 to 2.3 +/- 1 (p < 0.001) following treatment. In MPHD patients the U/L body segment decreased from 1.1 +/- 1.1 to -0.6 +/- 1.0 (p < 0.001), and the Ht SDS increased from -3.3 +/- 1.4 to -2.5 +/- 1.0 (p < 0.009). In the LS group the U/L body segment ratio did not change with IGF-I treatment but Ht improved from -6.1 +/- 1.3 to -4.6 +/- 1.2 (p < 0.001), The differential growth response of the children with IUGR and with ISS resembled that of the children with LS. CONCLUSIONS: hGH and IGF-I act differentially on the spine and limbs.  相似文献

Recently we demonstrated that ACTH 1-17 infusion in normal subjects is able to stimulate growth hormone (GH) secretion. In order to study the mechanism by which ACTH 1-17 induces this hormonal secretory pattern, we examined the effects of ACTH 1-17 addition to primary cultures of rat anterior pituitary cells and of two human pituitary adenomas (a mixed GH- and PRL-secreting adenoma and a prolactinoma) on GH and PRL secretion. Normal rat pituitary cells responded to rGRF with a dose-dependent increase of rGH: ACTH 1-17 induced a slight not significant increase of rGH secretion even at micromolar concentrations. Furthermore no additive effect of ACTH 1-17 on rGRF-stimulated GH release was observed. No significant stimulatory effect was also documented in the human tumors studied. These results suggest that the GH releasing activity of ACTH 1-17 observed in vivo is mediated via a direct action on CNS.  相似文献

In the present study we report the effects of therapy with growth hormone-releasing factor (1-29)NH2 (GRF) on growth rate, plasma levels of insulin growth factor I (IGF-I) and growth hormone (GH) secretion in 11 children who were selected solely on the basis of their short stature and normal GH secretion on standard provocative tests. All children received GRF for 6 months (5 micrograms/kg body weight subcutaneously) each evening. The 24-hour GH secretory profile was studied before and after 6 months of treatment. Simultaneously, GH secretory responses to single intravenous bolus GRF (1.5 micrograms/kg body weight) were also studied before, during, and 6 months off therapy with GRF(1-29)NH2. Plasma levels of IGF-I were measured before, during (1, 2 and 6 months), and after 6 months off therapy with GRF. Statural growth was measured at 3-month intervals. The peak plasma GH level in response to GRF was 56.04 +/- (SD) 24.46 ng/ml before treatment, and similar results were found after therapy. The 24-hour GH secretory profile did not show differences before, during, and after treatment. Comparably, no differences were found in GH pulse frequency, pulse amplitude, pulse height, pulse increment, pulse area and total area before, and 6 months off therapy with GRF. The increments in serum IGF-I achieved were not significantly different at all intervals studied. All patients increased growth velocities (mean +/- SD, cm/year) in response to GRF therapy. Our results demonstrate that GRF administration was effective in accelerating growth velocity in 11 children without GH deficiency.  相似文献

This study examined the effects of varying treatment durations and doses of adrenocorticotrophin (ACTH) as well as restraint stress on the LH response to exogenous LHRH. Injection of 80 i.u. of a concentrated ACTH preparation at 11, 6, 3 or 1.5 h before LHRH administration was effective in suppressing the LH response. Injection of 40, but not 20 or 10, i.u. ACTH 3 h before an LHRH challenge inhibited the magnitude of the LH response, while cortisol values did not vary between ACTH doses. Injection of 200 micrograms of synthetic ACTH1-24 also resulted in a reduced LH response when given 3 h before LHRH. Restraint stress caused elevated corticosteroid levels and reduced LHRH responsiveness. The results of this study suggest that stress may cause an inhibition of pituitary gland ability to respond to LHRH by way of an hormonal component of the adrenocortical axis. A glucocorticoid-independent mechanism may be involved.  相似文献

Plasma concentrations of progesterone (P), deoxycorticosterone (DOC), 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OH P), corticosterone (B), deoxycortisol (S), cortisol (F) and aldosterone (A) in 8 control subjects (mean age: 40.5 years) and 10 patients with essential hypertension (EH) (mean age: 48.5 years) were determined before, 4 and 8 hours after an infusion of ACTH at a rate of 25 units per 8 hours. Secretion rates (SR) of 18-hydroxy-11-deoxycorticosterone (18-OH DOC) were measured 24 hours before and again on the day of ACTH infusion. All subjects were studied on the fourth day of a diet containing 135 mEq of sodium and 90 mEq of potassium. There was no statistically significant difference between 8 control subjects and 10 patients with EH in the 7 plasma steroid levels and the SR of 18-OH DOC before ACTH infusion. The mean plasma P response to ACTH was slightly lower in controls than in patients with EH, while that of 17-OH P (in male subjects) was slightly higher. The mean plasma B response was significantly lower after 4 hours of ACTH infusion (p less than 0.01), while that of DOC was significantly higher after 8 hours of ACTH infusion (p less than 0.05) in patients with EH. The mean plasma S rose significantly more in patients with EH (p less than 0.025) at 4 and 8 hours after ACTH infusion. The mean plasma F response to ACTH infusion was slightly lower in patients with EH than in controls. The mean response of 18-OH DOC SR to ACTH infusion was slightly higher in patients with EH than in controls. The mean plasma A response was significantly higher in patients with EH than in controls 4 (p less than 0.05) and 8 hour (p less than 0.001) after an ACTH infusion. These results could be explained in part by abnormalities in the 17- and 11-hydroxylase systems, and that the abnormality in 11-hydroxylation was more pronounced than that in the 17-position. Furthermore, we suspect that the sensitivity of adrenal aldosterone to ACTH might be increased or another accelerated pathway to aldosterone biosynthesis might exist in patients with EH.  相似文献

The insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) generation test has the potential to assess the ability of an individual to respond to an acute bolus of growth hormone (GH), in terms of IGF-I, IGF-binding protein 3 and acid-labile subunit responses. This article will discuss something of the history of the IGF-I generation test, and review some of the major studies to date. The IGF-I generation test was first used in adults by Lieberman et al., who studied the effects of ageing and oestrogen administration, and suggested that decreased responsiveness to GH occurs with increasing age and oral oestrogen administration. Our results, however, show that, while activity of the GH/IGF-I axis declines with age, peripheral responsiveness to GH is not affected. As in the Lieberman study, we found that oral oestrogen replacement reduces responses of GH-dependent peptides to GH stimulation in healthy post-menopausal women. Transdermal oestrogen administration also reduced responsiveness to GH, although to a lesser degree than orally administered oestrogen. In addition, utilizing a non-weight-based dose of GH we have demonstrated that obese individuals produce greater increases in IGF-I following an acute bolus of GH. In GH deficiency (GHD), data suggesting enhanced peripheral responsiveness should be interpreted with caution, and with awareness of differences between these groups in terms of age and obesity. The IGF-I generation test may allow a fresh approach to unanswered questions in the field of GHD, but as the IGF-I response to GH is not strictly associated with protein anabolism or clinical benefit, the question remains whether this test will predict the effect of longer-term GH administration.  相似文献

BACKGROUND/AIMS: The effects of growth hormone deficiency (GHD) on linear growth in children are well documented, but there is less convincing evidence regarding the impact on health-related quality of life (QOL). We examined QOL in children aged 8-16 years with acquired GHD following treatment for malignancy (AGHD) or idiopathic GHD (IGHD) on commencing growth hormone treatment (GHT) over 6 months. We adopted a longitudinal design involving consecutive patients and their families attending clinic over an 18-month period. Mothers and children were invited to complete questionnaires before GHT (T1) and 6 months later (T2). METHODS: Mothers of 22 children (AGHD n = 14; IGHD n = 8) completed standardized measures of child QOL and behaviour. Children completed parallel measures of QOL, short-term memory tasks and fitness either in clinic or at the family home. RESULTS: For children with AGHD, QOL was significantly below population norms at T1 and improved over time. For children diagnosed with IGHD, QOL at T1 was below, but comparable with population norms. QOL improved over time, though not significantly. CONCLUSION: GHT is potentially valuable for improving QOL in children, especially in cases of AGHD. We conclude that benefits of GHT for QOL need to be evaluated independent of different diagnostic groups.  相似文献

Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis function, in Brahman heifers of differing temperament, was evaluated using separate challenges with CRH and ACTH. Exit velocity (EV) measurement was used to classify heifer temperament as calm [C; consisted of 6 slowest heifers (EV=1.05+/-0.05 m/s)] or temperamental [T; 6 fastest heifers (EV=3.14+/-0.22 m/s)]. During the 6 h prior to CRH challenge, areas under the ACTH (P=0.025) and cortisol (P<0.001) curves were greater in the temperamental heifers. Baseline cortisol (P<0.001) but not ACTH (P=0.10) differed between temperament groups. Following CRH challenge, areas under the ACTH (P=0.057) and cortisol (P<0.01) response curves were greater in the calm animals. The same animals were subjected to an ACTH challenge 14 d following their utilization in the CRH stimulation experiment. Prior to ACTH challenge, baseline cortisol concentrations were higher (P<0.001) in the temperamental heifers (T=18+/-2.6, C=4.3+/-0.6 ng/mL). Following ACTH administration, area under the cortisol response curve was greater (P=0.07) in the calm heifers. After declining below baseline concentrations during the post-challenge recovery period, cortisol in temperamental animals was again greater (P=0.02) than in the calm heifers. These data demonstrate that cattle with an excitable temperament exhibit increased stress responsiveness to handling, increased baseline adrenal function but not increased basal pituitary function, and a muted responsiveness to pharmacological stimulus. Thus, functional characteristics of the HPA axis vary with animal temperament.  相似文献

We determined whether ACTH1-24, infused into fetal lambs at a rate that is known to cause premature labor, elicits changes in the responsiveness of the fetal adrenal glands, and alters the pattern of corticosteroid output. Plasma cortisol (F), corticosterone (B) and progesterone (P4) were measured during 72 h of infusion of saline or ACTH (10 micrograms/h) beginning on Day 127 of pregnancy. Adrenals were then dispersed into isolated cells, and the output of F, B and P4 after exogenous ACTH determined in vitro. Plasma concentrations of F and B were higher in ACTH-treated fetuses. The increment in F (5-to 7-fold) was greater than that in B (2-fold) such that the F:B ratio in plasma of ACTH-treated fetuses on Days 2 and 3 of infusion was 2.5 times higher than in controls. After 72 h of infusion, the adrenal weights in ACTH-treated fetuses (741 +/- 38 mg, +/- SEM; n = 4) were greater than in the control animals (349 +/- 11 mg). There was a significant effect of ACTH pretreatment in vivo on F output by isolated adrenal cells in vitro. Mean increments in F output after addition of ACTH1-24 (5000 pg/ml) in vitro rose from 368 +/- 235 pg/50,000 cells in controls, to 64,639 +/- 19,875 pg/50,000 cells after ACTH in vivo. There was no significant effect of ACTH in vivo on B output in vitro; the ratio of F:B output, either in the absence or presence of ACTH in vitro, was significantly higher in cells from ACTH-pretreated fetuses. There was a significant effect of in vivo ACTH on in vitro P4 output. After ACTH treatment in vivo there was an increase in the vitro output ratio of F:P4, but no change in the output ratio of B:P4. We conclude that ACTH treatment of the fetal lamb in vivo results in activation of fetal adrenal function, increased fetal adrenal responsiveness to ACTH, and directed corticosteroid biosynthesis towards cortisol. Our results are consistent with an increase in fetal adrenal 17 alpha-hydroxylase activity after ACTH treatment.  相似文献

Abnormal lipid metabolism may be related to the increased cardiovascular risk in type 1 diabetes. Secretion and clearance rates of very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) apolipoprotein B100 (apoB) determine plasma lipid concentrations. Type 1 diabetes is characterized by increased growth hormone (GH) secretion and decreased insulin-like growth factor (IGF) I concentrations. High-dose IGF-I therapy improves the lipid profile in type 1 diabetes. This study examined the effect of low-dose (40 microg.kg(-1).day(-1)) IGF-I therapy on VLDL apoB metabolism, VLDL composition, and the GH-IGF-I axis during euglycemia in type 1 diabetes. Using a stable isotope technique, VLDL apoB kinetics were estimated before and after 1 wk of IGF-I therapy in 12 patients with type 1 diabetes in a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Fasting plasma triglyceride (P < 0.03), VLDL-triglyceride concentrations (P < 0.05), and the VLDL-triglyceride-to-VLDL apoB ratio (P < 0.002) significantly decreased after IGF-I therapy, whereas VLDL apoB kinetics were not significantly affected by IGF-I therapy. IGF-I therapy resulted in a significant increase in IGF-I and a significant reduction in GH concentrations. The mean overnight insulin concentrations during euglycemia decreased by 25% after IGF-I therapy. These results indicate that low-dose IGF-I therapy restores the GH-IGF-I axis in type 1 diabetes. IGF-I therapy changes fasting triglyceride concentrations and VLDL composition probably because of an increase in insulin sensitivity.  相似文献

The effects of centrally administered ACTH(1-24) and ACTH(4-10) on isolation-induced distress vocalizations (DVs) were assessed in the presence or absence of social cues (mirrored and plain environments). A dose-response analysis indicated that ACTH(1-24) at doses of 0.5 nM and above increased DVs relative to controls when the animals were tested in mirrored or social environments which reduce baseline levels of calling. This effect, however, was short-lived (approx. 15 min). When tested again 1 hr after injection, the treated animals did not differ from controls. ACTH/MSH(4-10) had no effect on vocalization when the animals were tested immediately after injection, but marginally increased calling when animals were tested an hour later. In addition to vocalization changes, ACTH(1-24) induced squatting when animals were isolated in the test boxes, and yawning, head shaking, wing flapping and preening when animals were reunited after testing. ACTH(1-24)-treated chicks also exhibited longer latencies to close their eyes when they were held in the cupped hands of the experimenter. Taken together, the results suggest that ACTH(1-24) induces a central state of arousal in chicks that resembles fear/anxiety.  相似文献

Serum levels of growth hormone (GH)-dependent peptides could provide important and valuable measures of GH sensitivity and, potentially, responsiveness. In normal individuals, serum insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) concentrations are dependent on the dose of GH given, with IGF-I responsiveness not decreasing with age. Individuals heterozygous for the E180 GH receptor (GHR) splice mutation have normal IGF-I generation, but those homozygous for the E180 splice mutation have very low basal and stimulated IGF-I concentrations. Similar results are observed for the serum IGF-binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3) response to GH, with a correlation between changes in serum concentrations of IGF-I and changes in IGFBP-3 in normal, heterozygotic, GH-insensitive and GH-deficient participants. In individuals with the E180 splice mutation, IGF-I and IGFBP-3 tests show sensitivity and specificity for detecting GH insensitivity (GHI). In children with idiopathic short stature, it appears that some individuals have selective resistance to GH, with their ability to generate IGF-I more impaired than their ability to generate other GH-dependent peptides. This heterogeneous group may require individualization of GH dosage. IGF generation tests remain the best short-term, in vivo test for classic GHI, although diagnostic tests will undoubtedly require further modification to identify milder pathophysiologic abnormalities.  相似文献

The insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) may be important autocrine and paracrine mediators of organ growth. We used solution-hybridization/ribonuclease protection assays to examine IGF-I and IGF-II mRNA abundance during hypertrophy or the rat adrenal gland induced by unilateral adrenalectomy or by adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) infusion. Adrenal IGF-I mRNA did not change during the period of rapid organ growth at 18 or 66 h after unilateral adrenalectomy. ACTH infusion induced a time- and dose-dependent decrease in adrenal IGF-I mRNA despite significant increases in gland size. IGF-II mRNA also remained unchanged after unilateral adrenalectomy and decreased after ACTH infusion, to a greater extent than IGF-I mRNA. Liver IGF-I mRNA did not change with ACTH exposure, indicating an effect specific to the adrenal. We also measured adrenal P450scc mRNA as a marker of steroidogenic capacity. P450scc mRNA was unchanged after unilateral adrenalectomy and increased with ACTH infusion. Thus IGF-I and IGF-II mRNAs respond in parallel, but in different fashions with different stimuli for adrenal growth. The decrease in IGF mRNA after exposure to ACTH may be a factor in the ACTH-induced inhibition of compensatory hypertrophy after unilateral adrenalectomy.  相似文献

The effects of intranasal and iv administration of His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-LysNH2 (GHRP) on plasma GH, PRL, LH, FSH, TSH, cortisol, insulin, IGF-I as well as GHRH-like immunoreactivity (LI) levels were examined in 6 healthy male subjects. An iv bolus injection of GHRP(1 micrograms/kg BW) caused a remarkable increase in plasma GH levels with a mean (+/- SE) peak of 54.9 +/- 4.2-micrograms/L. In addition an intranasal administration of GHRP resulted in a significant, dose-related increase in plasma GH with peaks of 39.6 +/- 15.3 micrograms/L at a dose of 30 micrograms/kg BW, 14.1 +/- 5.0 micrograms/L at 15 micrograms/kg BW and 7.5 +/- 5.7 micrograms/L at 5 microgram/kg BW. Plasma PRL and cortisol levels were slightly but significantly increased after iv administration of GHRP, whereas GHRP totally failed to affect plasma TSH, LH, FSH, insulin, blood sugar and GHRH-LI levels. Seven consecutive, intranasal administrations of 15 micrograms/kg BW GHRP every 8h were well tolerated in all subjects examined. During this treatment, GH responsiveness to GHRP was not attenuated by desensitization and plasma IGF-I was increased from 94.5 +/- 5.8 micrograms/L before GHRP to 125.8 +/- 6.0 micrograms/L after repeated GHRP administration. These findings indicate that intranasal administration of GHRP stimulates GH secretion and consequently enhances IGF-I production in normal subjects. If GHRP is demonstrated to be beneficial in the treatment of some patients with GH deficiency, the intranasal route of administration may be more useful than the painful injection because a prolonged period is required for the treatment.  相似文献

Male rats were fasted for 3 days, subjected to streptozotocin-diabetes or injected with L-thyroxine, Kenacort-A40 (corticosteroid) and Synacthen (ACTH). Cardiac heparin-releasable lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity was increased after fasting, experimental diabetes and all hormone treatments. Cardiac neutral lipase activity was decreased during diabetes and enhanced in the fasted state and by L-thyroxine, corticosteroid and ACTH administration. The close correlation between vascular LPL and tissue neutral lipase with cardiac triglyceride content is in agreement with the contention that tissue neutral lipase is similar to LPL (Hülsmann, Stam and Breeman 1982). Myocardial acid lipase activity was reduced during diabetes and L-thyroxine treatment, increased during fasting and corticosteroid administration and not affected by short-term ACTH treatment. Hepatic acid lipase activity was increased during fasting, diabetes and by L-thyroxine and reduced after corticosteroid and ACTH treatment. The alkaline liver lipase activity was depressed by fasting, experimental diabetes, corticosteroid and ACTH treatment, whereas L-thyroxine induced a slight increase in enzyme activity. The possible mechanism underlying the observed changes in acid, neutral, alkaline, and LPL activities in heart and liver are discussed.  相似文献

We studied the effect of rat growth hormone-releasing factor-(1-43) acid, rGRF(1-43)OH, on the long-term secretion of rat growth hormone (rGH) in dispersed primary cultured cells of rat anterior pituitaries over a period of 7 days or longer. Results of the perifusion assay show that freshly dispersed cells secrete more rGH than 4-day-old redispersed cells (P less than 0.05), that a stabilization period ranging from 4 to 24 h allows a greater production of rGH per day than longer periods (P less than 0.05) and that the working concentrations of rGRF-(1-43)OH and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) that insured the best responsiveness and longer viability are 50 pM and 10-1000 nM, respectively. Under these conditions, the cells continued secreting rGH after 42 days of perifusion, and 315 milligrams of rGH was produced over that period.  相似文献

We report on a male patient with an inactive pituitary and lumbar astrocytoma. He presented with panhypopituitarism at the age of 16 and received growth hormone replacement therapy for one year. During this period the pituitary mass increased substantially and showed subsequently a consistent shrinkage once treatment was stopped. The lumbar lesion stayed stable for the whole period of observation. The presumable rGH related change of the pituitary astrocytoma underlines the importance of careful follow-up of children with growth hormone deficiency secondary to treatment for brain tumors. Substitution therapy with rGH requires further and longer studies before it can be recommended with absolute reassurance in children with subtotal resection of a pituitary astrocytoma.  相似文献
