The karyotype of three species of Cichlasoma: C. dovii, C. managuense and C. friedrichstali were studied. The number of diploid chromosomes is 2n = 48 in the first two species. Their karyotypes are composed of four pairs of meta-submetacentric chromosomes. The arms fundamental number (NF) is 56. C. friedrichstali has three pairs of meta-submetacentric chromosomes and 21 pairs of subtelocentric-telocentric chromosomes. This species presents two different diploid numbers, 2n = 48 and 2n = 47.  相似文献

Phylogenetic relationships and identification of species of the genus Hypostomus is still unclear. Considering this, cytogenetics may prove itself as an important tool in understanding the systematic of this genus. Reviews in Hypostomus indicate that the diploid number ranges from 54 to 84 chromosomes, and the increase in diploid number has been associated to higher percentages of subtelocentric and acrocentric chromosomes. Although there is a high number of species in the genus, there are relatively few papers concerning Hypostomus cytogenetics, and most of the data is published as grey literature. With the aim to understand the chromosomal evolution in the genus (correlation between diploid number x chromosomes types), H. ancistroides and H. topavae from the Piquiri River, Upper Paraná River basin, were cytogenetically analyzed, and the diploid number observed was 68 and 80 chromosomes, respectively. Additional data on the diploid number and chromosome formulae was compiled from papers (27 analyses) and abstracts from grey literature (77 analyses). Our analysis shows no correlation between chromosome numbers and percentages of subtelocentric and acrocentric chromosomes for most of the species, since there is considerable variation between these percentages even between species with the same diploid number, indicating that the proportion of chromosome types is not always associated to diploid numbers.  相似文献

Centromeric repetitive DNA sequences in the genus Brassica   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Representatives of two major repetitive DNA sequence families from the diploid Brassica species B. campestris and B. oleracea were isolated, sequenced and localized to chromosomes by in situ hybridization. Both sequences were located near the centromeres of many chromosome pairs in both diploid species, but major sites of the two probes were all on different chromosome pairs. Such chromosome specificity is unusual for plant paracentromeric repetitive DNA. Reduction of stringency of hybridization gave centromeric hybridization sites on more chromosomes, indicating that there are divergent sequences present on other chromosomes. In tetraploid species derived from the diploids, the number of hybridization sites was different from the sum of the diploid ancestors, and some chromosomes had both sequences, indicating relatively rapid homogenization and copy number evolution since the origin of the tetraploid species.  相似文献

The 19 spatially distinct chromosomal units at first meiotic metaphase in sporophytically diploid species of Sphagnum have usually been considered to be bivalents, but one investigator (Sorsa, 1956) has interpreted them as chromosomes from dissociated bivalents and meiosis as post-reductional. The present studies on diploid S. squarrosum (Pers.) Crome establish the chromosome number on the basis of the following evidence: there are in addition to m-chromosomes, 19 pairs of chromosomes in early prophase, 19 bivalents at diakinesis, 19 chromosomes in each of the two sets at second metaphase, 19 daughter chromosomes in each of the four sets at late second anaphase, and 19 chromosomes in gametophytic mitoses. The 19 bodies at first meiotic metaphase in diploid species are true bivalents in loose secondary association, which has led to their erroneous interpretation as chromosomes of dissociated bivalents. The gametic chromosome number in sporophytically diploid Sphagnum is therefore, without doubt, n = 19, and this evidence negates the claim for post-reduction in Sphagnum.  相似文献

Bagre marinus has a diploid complement of 54 chromosomes composed of 12 metacentrics, 8 submetacentrics, and the remainder with terminal or near-terminal centromeres. Karyotypes for three species of ariid catfishes (Arius dussumieri, A. felis, andBagre marinus) indicate the same diploid number, but each species has a different arm number. Data for 132 species in 14 families of catfishes show a predominance of 56±2 chromosomes in the diploid set. This range in diploid number is most common in the Ariidae, Bagridae, Ictaluridae, and Pimelodidae, which, together with the Doradidae (no karyotypes available), have been suggested, from osteology, as forming a group close to ancestral stock from which living catfishes evolved.  相似文献

The effect of B chromosomes on meiosis is described in the diploid and tetraploid interspecific hybrid Lolium multiflorum x Lolium perenne. Although the parental species are very closely related, the presence of B chromosomes in the diploid hybrid reduced both chiasma frequency and the number of bivalents at meiosis by a small but significant amount. However at the tetraploid level the presence of B chromosomes did not seem to alter the pairing pattern and chiasma frequency in any way. The use of B chromosomes to stabilize meiosis in amphiploids of this type between closely related outbreeding species is therefore ruled out.  相似文献

The chromosomes of hylids Hypsiboas albopunctatus, H. raniceps, and H. crepitans from Brazil were analyzed with standard and differential staining techniques. The former species presented 2n = 22 and 2n = 23 karyotypes, the odd diploid number is due to the presence of an extra element interpreted as B chromosome. Although morphologically very similar to the small-sized chromosomes of the A complement, the B was promptly recognized, even under standard staining, on the basis of some characteristics that are usually attributed to this particular class of chromosomes. The two other species have 2n = 24, which is the chromosome number usually found in the species of Hypsiboas karyotyped so far. This means that 2n = 22 is a deviant diploid number, resulted from a structural rearrangement, altering the chromosome number of 2n = 24 to 2n = 22. Based on new chromosome data, some possibilities were evaluated for the origin of B chromosome in Hypsiboas albopunctatus, as well as the karyotypic evolution in the genus, leading to the reduction in the diploid number of 2n = 24 to 2n = 22.  相似文献

Mapping of rDNA sites on the chromosomes of four diploid and two tetraploid species of Eleusine has provided valuable information on genome relationship between the species. Presence of 18S-5.8S-26S rDNA on the largest pair of the chromosomes, location of 5S rDNA at four sites on two pairs of chromosomes and presence of 18S-5.8S-26S and 5S rDNA at same location on one pair of chromosomes have clearly differentiated E. multiflora from rest of the species of Eleusine. The two tetraploid species, E. coracana and E. africana have the same number of 18S-5.8S-26S and 5S rDNA sites and located at similar position on the chromosomes. Diploid species, E. indica, E. floccifolia and E. tristachya have the same 18S-5.8S-26S sites and location on the chromosomes which also resembled with the two pairs of 18S-5.8S-26S rDNA locations in tetraploid species, E. coracana and E. africana. The 5S rDNA sites on chromosomes of E. indica and E. floccifolia were also comparable to the 5S rDNA sites of E. africana and E. coracana. The similarity of the rDNA sites and their location on chromosomes in the three diploid and two polyploid species also supports the view that genome donors to tetraploid species may be from these diploid species.  相似文献

利用常规核型和带型技术对分布于陕西宁陕的甘肃仓鼠进行了研究, 其核型为2n = 24 = 16 m + 4 sm +2st + 2t 。由于没有得到雄性个体, 所以很难确定性染色体。部分染色体有着丝粒C - 带, 有1 对亚端染色体长臂具较大近着丝粒异染色质带, 暂定为X染色体。3 对染色体上有NORs。与已有报道的大仓鼠染色体比较, 两者有显著差异。因此从染色体特征上看, 将甘肃仓鼠作为大仓鼠的亚种是不合适的。  相似文献

The karyotype of Chelonus insularis (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Cheloninae) is described. The males show an haploid number of seven chromosomes and the females a diploid number of fourteen chromosomes, confirming haplo-diploid sex determination. Comparisons of these results with karyotypes of other species of the same family were done and a possible mechanism involved in the karyotype evolution of this species is discussed.  相似文献

The suborder Heteroptera constitutes one of the most important insect groups because most species are plants feeders and cause damage on many plants of economic importance. One of the most important cytogenetic characteristics of Heteroptera is the holokinetic nature of the chromosomes. One particular feature of some species of Pentatomidae is the regular presence of an abnormal meiosis in one testicular lobe (harlequin lobe). From the 28 species cytogenetically analysed from Argentine material, 21 present the diploid number 2 n  = 14, four species present a reduced number (2 n  = 12) and another three species possess an increased diploid number (2 n  = 16); among all these only three present an harlequin lobe. In the present work, a bibliographic review of the chromosome number and sex determining system of 294 species and subspecies belonging to 121 genera within the subfamilies Asopinae, Discocephalinae, Edessinae, Pentatominae, Phyllocephalinae and Podopinae is presented. The male diploid numbers range from six to 27 with a mode in 14 chromosomes; this last diploid number is present in 85% of the species. The sex chromosome determining system is XY/XX except in three species: Macropygium reticulare (Fabricius, 1803), Rhytidolomia senilis (Say, 1832) and Thyanta calceata (Say, 1832) which present derived sex chromosome systems. Furthermore, the cytogenetic relationships with the other families of Pentatomoidea are discussed.  相似文献

The 140+ species of Echeveria have more than 50 gametic chromosome numbers, including every number from 12 through 34 and polyploids to n = ca. 260. With related genera, they comprise an immense comparium of 200+ species that have been interconnected in cultivation by hybrids. Some species with as many as 34 gametic chromosomes include none that can pair with each other, indicating that they are effectively diploid, but other species with fewer chromosomes test as tetraploids. Most diploid hybrids form multivalents, indicating that many translocations have rearranged segments of the chromosomes. Small, nonessential chromosomal remnants can be lost, lowering the number and suggesting that higher diploid numbers (n = 30–34) in the long dysploid series are older. These same numbers are basic to most other genera in the comparium (Pachyphytum, Graptopetalum, Sedum section Pachysedum), and many diploid intergeneric hybrids show very substantial chromosome pairing. Most polyploid hybrids here are fertile, even where the parents belong to different genera and have very different chromosome numbers. This seems possible only if corresponding chromosomes from a polyploid parent pair with each other preferentially, strong evidence for autopolyploidy. High diploid numbers here may represent old polyploids that have become diploidized by loss, mutation, or suppression of duplicate genes, but other evidence for this is lacking. Most species occur as small populations in unstable habitats in an area with a history of many rapid climatic and geological changes, presenting a model for rapid evolution.  相似文献

The karyotypes of marsupial species are characterized by their relatively low number of chromosomes, and their conservation. Most species have diploid numbers lying between the two modes, 2n = 14 and 2n = 22, but the karyotype of Aepyprymnus rufescens is exceptional in containing 2n = 32 chromosomes. Many differences in diploid number between marsupial species can be accounted for by particular fissions and fusions, which are easy to detect because of the low numbers of chromosomes in each karyotype. This should be a system in which it is possible to detect reversals and repeated chromosome rearrangements. We have used chromosome-specific paints derived from A. RUFESCENS to compare the karyotypes of eight marsupial species, representing closely and distantly related taxa, to trace chromosome change during evolution, and especially to detect reversals and convergence. From these and other painting comparisons, we conclude that there have been at least three reversals of fusions by fissions, and at least three fusions or fissions that have occurred independently in different lineages.  相似文献

We made a cytogenetic analysis of four species of Oxyopidae and compared it with the karyotype data of all species of this family. In Hamataliwa sp, the mitotic cells showed 2n♂ = 26+X(1)X(2) and telocentric chromosomes. The 2n♂ = 28, which has been described for only one oxyopid spider, is the highest diploid number reported for this family. Peucetia species exhibited distinct karyotype characteristics, i.e., 2n♂ = 20+X(1)X(2) in P. flava and 2n♂ = 20+X in P. rubrolineata, revealing interspecific chromosome variability within this genus. However, both Peucetia species exhibited telocentric chromosomes. The most unexpected karyotype was encountered in Oxyopes salticus, which presented 2n♂ = 10+X in most individuals and a predominance of biarmed chromosomes. Additionally, one male of the sample of O. salticus was heterozygous for a centric fusion that originated the first chromosomal pair and exhibited one supernumerary chromosome in some cells. Testicular nuclei of Hamataliwa sp and O. salticus revealed NORs on autosomal pairs, after silver impregnation. The majority of Oxyopidae spiders have their karyotype differentiated by both reduction in diploid number chromosome number and change of the sex chromosome system to X type; however, certain species retain the ancestral chromosome constitution 2n = 26+X1X2. The most remarkable karyotype differentiation occurred in O. salticus studied here, which showed the lowest diploid number ever observed in Oxyopidae and the second lowest registered for Entelegynae spiders.  相似文献

Simultaneous fluorescence in situ hybridisation with 5S and 25S rDNA probes enables the discrimination of a substantial number of chromosomes of the complement of all diploid and tetraploid Brassica species of the ”U-triangle”, and provides new chromosomal landmarks for the identification of some chromosomes of this genus which were hitherto indistinguishable. Twelve out of 20 chromosomes can be easily identified in diploid Brassica campestris (AA genome), eight out of 16 in Brassica nigra (BB genome), and six out of 18 in Brassica oleracea (CC genome). Furthermore, just two rDNA markers permit 20 out of 36 chromosomes to be distinguished and assigned to either the A or B genomes of the allotetraploid Brassica juncea, and 18 out of 38 chromosomes identified and assigned to the A or C genomes of the allotetraploid Brassica napus. The number of chromosomes bearing rDNA sites in the tetraploids is not in all cases simply the sum of the numbers of sites in their diploid ancestors. Earlier karyotypical work on Nodipecten nodosus embryos indicated that this species has a diploid number of 38, with six pairs respectively of metacentric and submetacentric chromosomes and seven pairs of subtelocentric chromosomes, although there were some difficulties in obtaining complete metaphases. The present work provides additional results on specific regions of the chromosomes in N. nodosus and, by meiotic studies, confirms the chromosome number with more reliability. Active nucleolar organizer regions (NOR), detected in mitotic metaphases from embryos, can be characterized in N. nodosus by a high level of heteromorphism of NOR-sites, indicating that these regions are not appropriate as chromosomal markers in this species. The procedure for detecting constitutive heterochromatin of chromosomes allowed us to observe most of the heterochromatic blocks at a pericentromeric position and some at telomeric and interstitial positions. The analysis of meiotic chromosomes from gonad tissue revealed the presence of 19 bivalents during metaphase I, all homomorphic and isopicnotic, confirming the previously described diploid chromosomal number of 38 for N. nodosus. From these results, some evolutionary aspects of the Pectinidae are briefly discussed.  相似文献
