The paper submits the results of estimation of the osteosarcomogenic effectiveness of 90Sr in a combination with 131I incorporated prior to or after the administration of 90Sr. It was demonstrated that the incidence of osteosarcomas increased in rats received 131I a weak after the administration of 90Sr.  相似文献

Five years after single intravenous injection of a mixture of 239Pu and 90Sr to semifine-wool sheep (7.4 kBq/kg + 185 kBq/kg) the iodine-fixing and hormone secreting functions of the thyroid gland were inhibited; where 90Sr alone was injected in the above dose inhibited was the hormone-secreting function only. Since 239Pu alone did not cause such alterations, the observed remote effect was attributed to the effect of the incorporated 90Sr.  相似文献

Experimental data on teratogenic effects induced by incorporated alpha, beta and gamma-emitters were analyzed. It was found that the radioactive substances as well as external irradiation induced teratogenic effects. Teratogenesis caused by incorporated radionuclides has some peculiarities compared to the effect caused by fetus exposure to external radiation. These peculiarities are related to the fact of the limited penetration of incorporated radionuclides via placenta barrier so the radiation fetal doses are accumulated within long period of time and radiation dose rates are relatively low. The exposure to incorporated radionuclides does not induce severe developmental defects. Most frequent developmental defects of fetus include its death, general retardation of the development and growth. In such case the earlier pregnancy term was affected by radionuclide the more severe fetal damages occur in fetus because of the gradual increase of absorbed dose even in case of single intake of radionuclide. RBEs of radionuclides if compared to that for external gamma radiation are evaluated as follows: 2-4 (tritium oxide), 20 (241Am), 50 (238Pu) and 3-5 (131I in thyroid).  相似文献

Some theoretical of the experimental investigation of solubility of radioactive aerosols were examined. Filters, which were exposed during October-November 1987 in Pripyat town, were studied. Measurements on 22 November 1987 showed that an activity in the air was 12.1-20.8 mBq/m3 for 137Cs, 34.9-89.3 mBq/m-3 for 144Ce, 24.3-30.5 mBq/m-3 for 106Ru. Disperse structure of aerosol hot particles and the number of hot particles on each filter fragment was estimated by radiography. To determine a dissolution rate constant a static system with two 0.14 micron pore size membrane MFE filters (Dubna, Russia) enclosing fragments of Petryanov filters was selected. The composition was held in Gamble's solution lung fluid anf then in 0.1 mol/l HCl as dastic juice simulation. The activity of 90Sr, 238Pu, 239 + 240Pu, 241Am and 244Cm in aerosol filters and solutions was measured by radiochemical methods. It was shown that leaching of radionuclides from aerosol hot particles in lung fluid simulation decreases in line 137Cs > 90Sr > 239 + 240Pu > or = 241Am, depending om particle diameter and time. Dissolution constants were presented. Dissolution of aerosol particles in 0.1 mol/l HCl is also shown (dissolution time was 3 days). A radionuclide transition to HCl solution decreases in line 90Am 241Am > 137Cs > 239 + 240Pu. A transition degree reached 21% for 90Sr and extraction of 241Am was 3-17%.  相似文献

There is a positive correlation between the number of aberrant lymphocytes in the experimental rat blood, 24 h following the administration of 45Ca, 131I, 131I together with 90Sr, and 45Ca together with 137Cs, and the life span of exposed animals. It is suggested that the cytogenetic index should be used in the prognosis of the radionuclide-induced life span shortening.  相似文献

A radioecological survey in Antarctica shows that the239+240Pu,238Pu,241Am,90Sr, and137Cs activities were detectable in nearly all the samples. The activity level of239+240Pu,241Am, and137Cs in antarctic sediments was about 5–20 times lower than in the northern Adriatic Sea sediments, but the238Pu activities were relatively high. It was interesting to note that the90Sr concentrations in all the sediments tended to be low, which could be the result of the easier exchangeable behavior of90Sr in water. High concentrations were detected in mosses and lichens and their activity levels were comparable to those in central Italy. The radionuclide ratio analyses show that the major part of239+240Pu,241Am,90Sr, and137Cs was a result of nuclear weapon tests. The higher241Am/239+240Pu ratio was observed and it could perhaps be the result of fallout of nuclear weapon tests prior to 1962. The238Pu/239+240Pu ratio in the antarctic matrices was about seven times higher than in the Northern hemisphere and it could be inferred that the major part of238Pu was originating from the SNAP-9A satellite accident.  相似文献

Operation of the Mayak plutonium production association resulted in radioactive contamination of a part of Chelyabinsk Region in the 1950–1960s. Significant gas-aerosol emission of 131I occurred since 1948; in 1957, a radiation accident resulted in 90Sr contamination of large territories. This paper presents comparison of the bone mineral density of persons who lived on territories with different levels of 90Sr-soil contamination with that of a control group. It was found that in 1970–1975, the bone mineral density, estimated from the mineral content in bone samples, in residents of contaminated areas born in 1936–1952 was significantly lower compared to the control group. For persons born in 1880–1935, such differences were not found. It was shown that the decrease in the bone mineral density was not related to 90Sr exposure of osteogenic cells in the dose range from 0.1 to 1300 mGy: the coefficient of correlation between individual 90Sr doses and bone mineral contents is not significant. The decrease in bone mineral density of persons born in 1936–1952 may be associated with exposure of the thyroid and parathyroid glands (systemic regulators of calcium metabolism) to 131I from gas-aerosol emissions from Mayak. The highest levels of gas-aerosol emissions occurred in 1948–1954 and coincided with the growth and development of the thyroid gland, characterized by intensive accumulation of 131I, and with the growth and maturation of the skeleton of persons born in the given calendar years.  相似文献

Radioecological studies carried out in a joint co-operation between Russian, Ukrainian and Danish Laboratories are reported. The environmental impact of routine, discharges as well as accidental events, notably the Kyshtym accident in 1957 and the Karachay wind dispersion in 1968 have been studied. From measurements and based on model assumptions it has been estimated that the Ob river system outside Mayak, i.e. first of all the Techa and Iset rivers and their floodplains contain 0.1 PBq 90Sr, 0.3 PBq 137Cs and 0.8 TBq 239, 240Pu. The uncertainty of these estimates is a factor of 3-4. The present contamination from the Kyshtym accident outside the Mayak area is calculated to 0.1-0.5 PBq 90Sr and from the Karachay incident the contamination is 0.05-0.1 Bq 137Cs. The environmental contaminations with Pu from these two events are in the order of 1 TBq. The occurrence of 99Tc, 129I and 237Np in highly contaminated Techa river sediments collected outside Mayak is for the first time reported.  相似文献

The date on the distribution of the main radiologicaly important polutants of biosphera (90Sr, 137Cs, 239 + 240Pu, 238Pu, 241Am) over the molecular mass fractions of organic matter in the soil solutions of natural environments are presented. Molecular mass constitution and radionuclide content in the fractions are dependent on radionuclide nature and type of soil and change along the soil profile. The major portion of 238Pu, 239 + 240Pu and 241Am (72-98%) was bound with organic matter in the soil solutions. In the case of organic horizons, these radionuclides were selectively connected with the fractions of high molecular masses (MMw > or = 2000). Radiostrontium is present principally in the fraction of inorganic compounds (19-100%) and in the low molecular mass fraction of organic matter (MMw = 350-500). A selective interaction of 137Cs with organic matter of definite molecular masses was not observed. The radionuclide was found in the "organic" fractions of a wide range of molecular masses (MMw from 350-500 to > or = 18,000) (34-97%) as well as in the fraction of inorganic compounds. The data obtained can provide the theoretical basis for explanation of higher mobility of 90Sr in soil profiles compared to other radionuclides.  相似文献

This article focuses on the study of 90Sr in the tooth tissues of Techa riverside residents 60 years after intake. The Techa River was contaminated by radioactive wastes in the 1950s. Contamination of the river system, including water, bottom sediment, floodplain soil, and grass, depended on the distance from the source of releases. Therefore, the average 90Sr intake was different in different settlements located downstream the river. An additional factor influencing 90Sr accumulation in the teeth is the rate of tissue mineralization at the time of intake which depended on the donor’s age at the time of releases. Measurements of 90Sr concentration in various dental tissues (enamel, crown, and root dentin) of 166 teeth were performed about 60 years after the main intake using the method of thermoluminescence passive beta detection. The paper presents the current levels of tooth tissue contamination, and the tooth-to-tooth variability of 90Sr concentration in tooth tissues was assessed for the tissues which were matured at the time of massive liquid radioactive waste releases into the Techa River. A model describing the expected levels of 90Sr in matured dental tissues depending on age and intake has been elaborated for the population under study. The results obtained will be used for calculation of internal dose in enamel and for interpretation of tooth doses measured by means of the electron paramagnetic resonance method, among the population of the Techa River region.  相似文献

Radiocesium is normally bound only rather weakly and unspecifically by humic substances, in contrast to the actinides Pu and Am. Recently, however, it was observed that fallout 137Cs in the soil solution from an Of-horizon of a podzol forest soil (slightly decomposed plant material) was associated essentially only with one single size fraction of the humic substances. In deeper soil layers with well humified material (AOh-horizon), radiocesium was associated with all size fractions of the dissolved organic matter (DOM). To examine whether this unexpected behaviour is also observable for DOM isolated from other soils, we determined the association of fallout 137Cs,90Sr,238Pu, 239+240Pu and 241Am with various size fractions of DOM from in situ soil solutions isolated from two layers (0–2 cm and 2–5 cm) of two grassland soils (a soddy podzolic soil and a peat soil) within the 10 km zone of the nuclear reactor at Chernobyl (Ukraine). The four size fractions of DOM as obtained by gel filtration of the soil solution were (mean nominal molecular weight in daltons): fraction I: ≥2000, fraction II: 1300; fraction III: 560, fraction IV: inorganic compounds. The results for the well humified DOM (humus accumulation horizon of podzol, deeper layer of peat soil) showed that Pu and Am are essentially associated with the high molecular weight fractions, while Sr is present only in the `inorganic' fraction. Radiocesium is found in all the size fractions separated. A quite similar pattern was also found for Pu, Am, and Sr in the soil solution from only slightly decomposed plant material (0–2 cm of peat soil), but not for radiocesium. This radionuclide was again essentially only observable in one single low molecular weight fraction of DOM. The above results thus support our recent observations in the different horizons of a forest podzol mentioned above, even though no reason for the different binding of radiocesium by well humified soil organic matter and by only slightly decomposed plant material can be given at present. The data demonstrate, however, that information on only the total amount of a radionuclide in the soil solution will not be sufficient to interpret or predict its fate adequately in the soil. The analysis of the content of radionuclides 90Sr, 137Cs, 238Pu, 239 + 240Pu and 241Am in water vegetation of flood plain reservoirs has allowed studing features of radionuclide accumulation by various species of macrophytes and revealing bioindicators of radionuclide contamination. Thus species-specificity of radionuclide accumulation can essentially change the contribution of different species to a percentage ratio of the radionuclide content in phytomass of reservoirs in comparison with fund of higher aquatic plants.  相似文献

The results of the studies devoted to the distribution of radionuclides 90Sr, 137Cs, 238Pu, 239 + 240Pu and 241Am in 1998-2003 in main components of Glubokoe Lake and Dalekoe-1 Lake located within Krasnensky flood lands of the Pripyat River (inner exclusion zone of the Chernobyl NPP) were analysed. Radiolabelled peptides can provide new approaches for radiopharmaceutical development. Several prosthetic groups have been developed for radioiodination of proteins in order to minimize in vivo dehalogenation. In this work, the prosthetic group N-succinimidyl 4-[131I]iodobenzoate ([131I]SIB) was obtained by an alternative procedure that employs Cu(I) assisted radioiododebromination to produce p-[131I]iodobenzoic acid with a radiochemical yield of 92.73 +/- 1.51% (N = 6), followed by the reaction with TSTU (O-(N-succinimidyl)-N,N,N'N'-tetramethyluronium) in alkaline medium. The HPLC profile of the final product, revealed that [131I]SIB was obtained with a radiochemical purity of 98.19 +/- 1.14% (N = 6 Swiss mices (normal group) and animals with inflammation focus developed on the right thigh by tupertine injection) were injected with human immunoglobulin (IgG) radioiodinated with [131I]SIB and by direct method (Iodogen). The comparison of results showed a fast blood clearance, better target organ/background relation and low uptake in thyroid and stomach (p < 0.01) for the protein labelled with [131I]SIB, what suggests a greater in vivo stability.  相似文献

In a series of experiments, mainly CBA/H, but also C2H/H, mice aged 3 months were injected intraperitoneally with solutions of 90Sr Cl2, the dose per mouse varying from 7 to 20 muCi, and compared with similar mice treated with 226Ra or 239Pu, discussed elsewhere. In male mice, the commonest tumour resulting at each dose of 90Sr was non-osteogenic (angio) sarcoma, a tumour not seen after 226Ra. In females, this tumour occurred far less frequently than osteosarcoma. In CBA mice of both sexes converted to radiation chimaeras (which are sterile) and similarly treated with 90Sr, the only skeletal tumours were osteosarcomas. When only half the body of CBA mice was X-irradiated with 1000 rad and the mice given 90Sr, non-osteogenic sarcoma occurred predominantly in those mice X-irradiated in the cephalic half. The results suggest that intact testes may provide co-factors for this type of neoplasm, whereas others have shown that oestrogens facilitate murine osteosarcoma. The non-osteogenic osteosarcomas arise from damaged stromal elements in bone-marrow of selected bones. The risk to this component of bone-marrow, as well as to haematopoietic tissue, should be considered in radiation protection.  相似文献

After acute intake of 90Sr the changes of d-9 CFUs number in mice (CBA) bone marrow, spleen and peripheral blood were investigated. The obtained results indicated similar quantitative changes in bone marrow and spleen CFUs on exposure to the 90Sr when radiation doses did not cause the decrease in life-time (1.11 kBq/g). Sarcomogeneous doses of 90Sr (29.6 kBq/g) resulted in drastic changes of hemopoietic system: spleen haematopoiesis activation and suppression of bone marrow functions. On the first day after 90Sr injection (29.6 kBq/g) the increase in number of peripheral blood CFUs (circulating pool) was observed.  相似文献

The East Urals Radioactive Trace (EURT) was formed after a chemical explosion in the radioactive waste-storage facility of the Mayak Production Association in 1957 (Southern Urals, Russia) and resulted in an activity dispersion of 7.4?×?1016 Bq into the atmosphere. Internal exposure due to ingestion of radionuclides with local foodstuffs was the main factor of public exposure at the EURT. The EURT cohort, combining residents of most contaminated settlements, was formed for epidemiological study at the Urals Research Center for Radiation Medicine, Russia (URCRM). For the purpose of improvement of radionuclide intake estimates for cohort members, the following data sets collected in URCRM were used: (1) Total β-activity and radiochemical measurements of 90Sr in local foodstuffs over all of the period of interest (1958–2011; n?=?2200), which were used for relative 90Sr intake estimations. (2) 90Sr measurements in human bones and whole body (n?=?338); these data were used for average 90Sr intake derivations using an age- and gender-dependent Sr-biokinetic model. Non-strontium radionuclide intakes were evaluated on the basis of 90Sr intake data and the radionuclide composition of contaminated foodstuffs. Validation of radionuclide intakes during the first years after the accident was first carried out using measurements of the feces β-activity of EURT residents (n?=?148). The comparison of experimental and reconstructed values of feces β-activity shows good agreement. 90Sr intakes for residents of settlements evacuated 7–14 days after the accident were also obtained from 90Sr measurements in human bone and whole body. The results of radionuclide intake reconstruction will be used to estimate the internal doses for the members of the EURT cohort.  相似文献

People living on the banks of the Techa river were exposed to 90Sr in the early 1950s. Data obtained by radiochemical measurements of extracted permanent teeth, 90Sr autopsy measurements in bone and tooth samples, in vivo measurements of surface beta activity of the anterior teeth and whole-body counter (WBC) measurements of 90Sr in the skeleton have been analyzed. Surface beta activity measurements indicate a biological half-life of 90Sr of about 35 years in enamel. The WBC measurements have been performed since 1974 and a model for the age-dependent strontium retention in human bone has been used to extrapolate to previous time periods when the other measurement results were obtained. For the first decade after the intake, the ratio of the 90Sr concentrations in teeth and bones were found to decrease with age at the time of major intake, from about 10 for 1-year-old children to about 0.3 for adults. There was a considerable variability of individual data within each age group. For adults, the correlation between 90Sr in skeleton and teeth was not high at 0.47 according to radiochemical data for posterior teeth (molars and premolars) and 0.43 according to measurements of surface beta activity for anterior teeth. For children and adolescents there was no correlation between individual measurements in the skeleton and teeth. The absorbed dose in enamel due to 90Sr in dentine has been calculated by Monte Carlo simulations of the electron transport. The results are in agreement with EPR measurements of the absorbed dose in the enamel of persons exposed, mainly due to 90Sr ingestion. Received: 19 July 1999 / Accepted: 5 May 2000  相似文献
