The aim of our study was to assess the effect of phototherapy (PT) on ischaemia‐modified albumin (IMA) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in hyperbilirubinemic full‐term newborns. The study was performed on 36 full‐term infants exposed to PT. The babies were aged 3 to 13 days. IMA and MDA levels of the babies were determined before and after PT, by a colorimetric assay. IMA levels before and after PT were found as 0.424 ± 0.290 and 0.531 ± 0.262 absorbance units, respectively. Although IMA levels after PT were slightly higher, the difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.131). MDA levels before and after PT were found as 8.4 ± 1.8 µmol/l and 9.4 ± 1.5 µmol/l, respectively. Serum MDA concentrations were significantly higher after PT than before PT (p < 0.000). In previous studies, conflicting findings have been reported about the effect of PT on oxidant and antioxidant systems. However, we have found no study investigating IMA levels in hyperbilirubinaemia in newborns before and after PT. Our results shows that PT does not affect IMA levels significantly. IMA increases as a result of oxidative stress. We believe that the lack of significant difference between our IMA levels before and after PT may resulted from hyperbilirubinaemia, which has antioxidant effect. 目的探讨母乳和新生儿粪便细菌与母乳性黄疸(BMJ)的相关性。方法以BMJ患儿为研究对象,并与健康新生儿对照。RT-PCR法检测母乳和新生儿粪便中细菌含量,比较BMJ组和对照组细菌含量的差别,分析血总胆红素与细菌含量的相关性。结果 (1)BMJ组母乳和新生儿粪便中青春双歧杆菌、两歧双歧杆菌和长双歧杆菌浓度显著低于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(均P0.01);(2)母乳两歧双歧杆菌与血清TSB显著负相关(r=-534,P=0.000);新生儿粪便青春双歧杆菌(r=-0.675,P=0.000)、两歧双歧杆菌(r=-0.598,P=0.000)和长双歧杆菌(r=-0.472,P=0.000)与血清TSB显著负相关。结论母乳中双歧杆菌含量下降可能与新生儿BMJ相关。  相似文献

The epidemiology of toxoplasmosis in sheep was studied during a period of 31/2 to 6 years in 4 flocks in which abortions from the infection previously had occurred. The epidemiological pattern indicated that a heavy contamination of the environment may persist for about 2 years. Even in flocks with an apparently normal reproductive performance, toxoplasmosis may cause barrenness, abortion or delivery of dead lambs in 1–2 % of the breeding ewes. The prevalence of infected sheep increased with the age. The incidence of infection was significantly lower in 6–12 months old lambs than in mature ewes. The incidence of infection was higher on lowland pastures than on mountain pastures in not populated areas.
