Downhill running causes muscle damage, and induces oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction. Recently, it is shown that curcumin possesses anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory potentials. Interestingly, curcumin reduces inflammatory cytokine concentrations in skeletal muscle after downhill running of mice. However, it is not known whether curcumin affects oxidative stress after downhill running-induced muscle damage. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of curcumin on oxidative stress following downhill running induced-muscle damage. We also investigated whether curcumin affects macrophage infiltration via chemokines such as MCP-1 and CXCL14. Male C57BL/6 mice were divided into four groups; rest, rest plus curcumin, downhill running, or downhill running plus curcumin. Downhill running mice ran at 22 m/min, −15% grade on the treadmill for 150 min. Curcumin (3 mg) was administered in oral administration immediately after downhill running. Hydrogen peroxide concentration and NADPH-oxidase mRNA expression in the downhill running mice were significantly higher than those in the rest mice, but these variables were significantly attenuated by curcumin administration in downhill running mice. In addition, mRNA expression levels of MCP-1, CXCL14 and F4/80 reflecting presence of macrophages in the downhill running mice were significantly higher than those in the rest mice. However, MCP-1 and F4/80 mRNA expression levels were significantly attenuated by curcumin administration in downhill running mice. Curcumin may attenuate oxidative stress following downhill running-induced muscle damage.  相似文献

Catechins, which are abundant in green tea, possess a variety of biologic actions, and their clinical application has been extensively investigated. In this study, we examined the effects of tea catechins and regular exercise on the aging-associated decline in physical performance in senescence-accelerated prone mice (SAMP1) and age-matched senescence-accelerated resistant mice (SAMR1). The endurance capacity of SAMR1 mice, measured as the running time to exhaustion, tended to increase over the 8-wk experimental period, whereas that of SAMP1 mice decreased by 17%. On the other hand, the endurance capacity of SAMP1 mice fed 0.35% (wt/wt) catechins remained at the initial level and was significantly higher than that of SAMP1 mice not fed catechins. In SAMP1 mice fed catechins and given exercise, oxygen consumption was significantly increased, and there was an increase in skeletal muscle fatty acid beta-oxidation. The mRNA levels of mitochondria-related molecules, such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator-1, cytochrome c oxidase-II, III, and IV in skeletal muscle were also higher in SAMP1 mice given both catechins and exercise. Moreover, oxidative stress measured as thiobarbituric reactive substances was lower in SAMP1 groups fed catechins than in the SAMP1 control group. These results suggest that long-term intake of catechins, together with habitual exercise, is beneficial for suppressing the aging-related decline in physical performance and energy metabolism and that these effects are due, at least in part, to improved mitochondrial function in skeletal muscle.  相似文献

Content of the immunoproteasome, the inducible form of the standard proteasome, increases in atrophic muscle suggesting it may be associated with skeletal muscle remodeling. However, it remains unknown if the immunoproteasome responds to stressful situations that do not promote large perturbations in skeletal muscle proteolysis. The purpose of this study was to determine how an acute bout of muscular stress influences immunoproteasome content. To accomplish this, wild-type (WT) and immunoproteasome knockout lmp7 ?/? /mecl1 ?/? (L7M1) mice were run downhill on a motorized treadmill. Soleus muscles were excised 1 and 3 days post-exercise and compared to unexercised muscle (control). Ex vivo physiology, histology and biochemical analyses were used to assess the effects of immunoproteasome knockout and unaccustomed exercise. Besides L7M1 muscle being LMP7/MECL1 deficient, no other major biochemical, histological or functional differences were observed between the control muscles. In both strains, the downhill run shifted the force-frequency curve to the right and reduced twitch force; however, it did not alter tetanic force or inflammatory markers. In the days post-exercise, several of the proteasome’s catalytic subunits were upregulated. Specifically, WT muscle increased LMP7 while L7M1 muscle instead increased β5. These findings indicate that running mice downhill results in subtle contractile characteristics that correspond to skeletal muscle injury, yet it does not appear to induce a significant inflammatory response. Interestingly, this minor stress activated the production of specific immunoproteasome subunits that if knocked out were replaced by components of the standard proteasome. These data suggest that the immunoproteasome may be involved in maintaining cellular homeostasis.  相似文献

Early onset increases in oxidative stress and tau pathology are present in the brain of senescence-accelerated mice prone (SAMP8). Astrocytes play an essential role, both in determining the brain's susceptibility to oxidative damage and in protecting neurons. In this study, we examine changes in tau phosphorylation, oxidative stress and glutamate uptake in primary cultures of cortical astrocytes from neonatal SAMP8 mice and senescence-accelerated-resistant mice (SAMR1). We demonstrated an enhancement of abnormally phosphorylated tau in Ser(199) and Ser(396) in SAMP8 astrocytes compared with that of SAMR1 control mice. Gsk3beta and Cdk5 kinase activity, which regulate tau phosphorylation, was also increased in SAMP8 astrocytes. Inhibition of Gsk3beta by lithium or Cdk5 by roscovitine reduced tau phosphorylation at Ser(396). Moreover, we detected an increase in radical superoxide generation, which may be responsible for the corresponding increase in lipoperoxidation and protein oxidation. We also observed a reduced mitochondrial membrane potential in SAMP8 mouse astrocytes. Glutamate uptake in astrocytes is a critical neuroprotective mechanism. SAMP8 astrocytes showed a decreased glutamate uptake compared with those of SAMR1 controls. Interestingly, survival of SAMP8 or SAMR1 neurons cocultured with SAMP8 astrocytes was significantly reduced. Our results indicate that alterations in astrocyte cultures from SAMP8 mice are similar to those detected in whole brains of SAMP8 mice at 1-5 months. Moreover, our findings suggest that this in vitro preparation is suitable for studying the molecular and cellular processes underlying early aging in this murine model. In addition, our study supports the contention that astrocytes play a key role in neurodegeneration during the aging process.  相似文献

Downhill running is associated with fiber damage, inflammation, delayed-onset muscle soreness, and various functional deficits. Curcumin, a constituent of the Indian spice turmeric has been investigated for its anti-inflammatory activity and may offset some of the damage and functional deficits associated with downhill running. This study examined the effects of curcumin on inflammation and recovery of running performance following downhill running in mice. Male mice were assigned to downhill placebo (Down-Plac), downhill curcumin (Down-Cur), uphill placebo (Up-Plac), or uphill curcumin (Up-Cur) groups and run on a treadmill at 22 m/min at -14% or +14% grade, for 150 min. At 48 h or 72 h after the up/downhill run, mice (experiment 1) underwent a treadmill performance run to fatigue. Another subset of mice was placed in voluntary activity wheel cages following the up/downhill run (experiment 2) and their voluntary activity (distance, time and peak speed) was recorded. Additional mice (experiment 3) were killed at 24 h and 48 h following the up/downhill run, and the soleus muscle was harvested for analysis of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1beta, IL-6, and TNF-alpha), and plasma was collected for creatine kinase analysis. Downhill running decreased both treadmill run time to fatigue (48 h and 72 h) and voluntary activity (24 h) (P < 0.05), and curcumin feedings offset these effects on running performance. Downhill running was also associated with an increase in inflammatory cytokines (24 h and 48 h) and creatine kinase (24 h) (P < 0.05) that were blunted by curcumin feedings. These results support the hypothesis that curcumin can reduce inflammation and offset some of the performance deficits associated with eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage.  相似文献

Deep tissue pressure ulcers, a serious clinical challenge originating in the muscle layer, are hardly detectable at the beginning. The challenge apparently occurs in aged subjects more frequently. As the ulcer propagates to the skin surface, it becomes very difficult to manage and can lead to fatal complications. Preventive measures are thus highly desirable. Although the complex pathological mechanisms have not been fully understood, prolonged and excessive physical challenges and oxidative stress are believed to be involved in the ulcer development. Previous reports have demonstrated that oxidative stress could compromise the mechanical properties of muscle cells, making them easier to be damaged when physical challenges are introduced. In this study, we used senescence accelerated (SAMP8) mice and its control breed (SAMR1) to examine the protective effects of intermittent vibration on aged and control muscle tissues during prolonged epidermal compression under 100 mmHg for 6 h. Results showed that an application of 35 Hz, 0.25 g intermittent vibration during compression decreased the compression-induced muscle breakdown in SAMP8 mice, as indicated histologically in terms of number of interstitial nuclei. The fact that no significant difference in muscle damage could be established in the corresponding groups in SAMR1 mice suggests that SAMR1 mice could better accommodate the compression insult than SAMP8 mice. Compression-induced oxidative damage was successfully curbed using intermittent vibration in SAMP8 mice, as indicated by 8-OHdG. A possible explanation is that the anti-oxidative defense could be maintained with intermittent vibration during compression. This was supported by the expression level of PGC-1-alpha, catalase, Gpx-1 and SOD1. Our data suggested intermittent vibration could serve as a preventive measure for deep tissue ulcer, particularly in aged subjects.  相似文献

Damage to mitochondria as a result of the intrinsic generation of free radicals is theoretically involved in the processes of cellular aging. Herein, we investigated whether acutely administered melatonin, due to its free radical scavenging activity, would influence mitochondrial metabolism. Mitochondrial respiratory activity and respiratory chain complex I and IV activities in liver mitochondria from a strain of senescence-accelerated-prone mice (SAMP8) and a strain of senescence-accelerated-resistant mice (SAMR1) were measured when the animals were 12 months of age. Respiratory control index (RCI), ADP/O ratio, State 3 respiration and dinitrophenol (DNP)-dependent uncoupled respiration were significantly lower in SAMP8 than in SAMR1. In contrast, State 4 respiration was significantly higher in SAMP8 than in SAMR1. Activities of complexes I and IV in SAMP8 were significantly lower than in SAMR1. Melatonin administration (10mg/kg body weight, intraperitoneally) 1h prior to sacrifice significantly increased RCI, ADP/O ratio, State 3 respiration and DNP-induced uncoupled respiration in SAMP8 while also significantly reducing State 4 respiration in SAMP8. The injection of melatonin also significantly increased complex I activity in both mouse strains and complex IV activity in the liver of SAMP8 mice. These results document an age-related decrease in hepatic mitochondrial function in SAM which can be modified by an acute pharmacological injection of melatonin; the indole stimulated mitochondrial respiratory chain activity which would likely reduce deteriorative oxidative changes in mitochondria that normally occur in advanced age.  相似文献

The prevalence of liver diseases emphasizes the need of animal models to research on the mechanism of disease pathogenesis. Furthermore, most of the liver pathologies have the oxidative stress as an important component. The senescence-accelerated mouse strain SAMP8 was proposed as a valuable animal model for the study of liver diseases. To gain a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying degenerative processes in SAMP8 mice livers, we studied the oxidative-induced damage in 5-month-old SAMP8 mice and SAMR1, senescence-accelerated-resistant mice. We found profound differences in the antioxidant response to aging between sexes, with males displaying lowest levels of main antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione reductase (GR) in SAMP8; whereas females had no difference in their activities, except for GR, when compared with their SAMR1 controls. The results obtained show the binomial SOD/CAT as an important factor for counteracting reactive oxygen species-dependent damage. There were not pathological differences at the morphological level between both strains, although the decay in protection against free radicals had an immediate response by increasing lipid and protein oxidative damage in SAMP8 mice liver. At 5 months, both male and female SAMP8 mice confront the oxidative stress challenge to different extents. Indeed, proteins seem to be the most vulnerable biomolecule in SAMP8 male mice.  相似文献

Antioxidant supplementation has become a common practice among athletes to boost sport achievement. Likewise, melatonin (MEL) has been ingested as an ergogenic aid to improve physical performance. To date, no study has checked whether the multiple beneficial effects of MEL have an outcome during a maximum running exercise until exhaustion. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the effect of MEL ingestion on physical performance and biochemical responses (i.e., oxidative stress) during exhaustive exercise. In a double blind randomized study, thirteen professional soccer players [age: 17.5 ± 0.8 years, body mass: 70.3 ± 3.9 kg, body height: 1.80 ± 0.08 m; maximal aerobic speed (MAS): 16.85 ± 0.63 km/h; mean ± standard deviation], members of a first league squad, performed a running exercise until exhaustion at 100% of MAS, after either MEL or placebo ingestion. Physical performance was assessed, and blood samples were obtained at rest and following the exercise. Compared to placebo, MEL intake prevented the increase in oxidative stress markers (i.e., malondialdehyde), alleviated the alteration of antioxidant status (i.e., glutathione peroxidase, uric acid and total bilirubin) and decreased post-exercise biomarkers of muscle damage (i.e., creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase) (p < 0.05). However, physical performance was not affected by MEL ingestion (p > 0.05). In conclusion, acute MEL intake before a maximal running exercise protected athletes from oxidative stress and cellular damage but without an effect on physical performance.  相似文献

Strenuous exercise induces delayed-onset muscle damage including oxidative damage of cellular components. Oxidative stress to muscle cells impairs glucose uptake via disturbance of insulin signaling pathway. We investigated glucose uptake and insulin signaling in relation to oxidative protein modification in muscle after acute strenuous exercise. ICR mice were divided into sedentary and exercise groups. Mice in the exercise group performed downhill running exercise at 30 m/min for 30 min. At 24 hr after exercise, metabolic performance and insulin-signaling proteins in muscle tissues were examined. In whole body indirect calorimetry, carbohydrate utilization was decreased in the exercised mice along with reduction of the respiratory exchange ratio compared to the rested control mice. Insulin-stimulated uptake of 2-deoxy-[(3)H]glucose in damaged muscle was decreased after acute exercise. Tyrosine phosphorylation of insulin receptor substrate (IRS)-1 and phosphatidyl-3-kinase/Akt signaling were impaired by exercise, leading to inhibition of the membrane translocation of glucose transporter 4. We also found that acute exercise caused 4-hydroxy-nonenal modification of IRS-1 along with elevation of oxidative stress in muscle tissue. Impairment of insulin-induced glucose uptake into damaged muscle after strenuous exercise would be related to disturbance of insulin signal transduction by oxidative modification of IRS-1.  相似文献

Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are clinically, immunologically, and morphologically distinct forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, smooth muscle function is impaired similarly in both diseases, resulting in diarrhea. We tested the hypothesis that differential cellular, genetic, and immunological mechanisms mediate smooth muscle dysfunction in two animal models believed to represent the two diseases. We used the rat models of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)- and dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colonic inflammations, which closely mimic the clinical and morphological features of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, respectively. DSS inflammation induced oxidative stress initially in mucosa/submucosa, which then propagated to the muscularis externa to impair smooth muscle function. The muscularis externa showed no increase of cytokines/chemokines. On the other hand, TNBS inflammation almost simultaneously induced oxidative stress, recruited or activated immune cells, and generated cytokines/chemokines in both mucosa/submucosa and muscularis externa. The generation of cytokines/chemokines did not correlate with the recruitment and activation of immune cells. Consequently, the impairment of smooth muscle function in DSS inflammation was primarily due to oxidative stress, whereas that in TNBS inflammation was due to both oxidative stress and proinflammatory cytokines. The impairment of smooth muscle function in DSS inflammation was due to suppression of Gα(q) protein of the excitation-contraction coupling. In TNBS inflammation, it was due to suppression of the α(1C)1b subunit of Ca(v)1.2b channels, CPI-17 and Gα(q). TNBS inflammation increased IGF-1 and TGF-β time dependently in the muscularis externa. IGF-1 induced smooth muscle hyperplasia; both IGF-1 and TGF-β induced hypertrophy. In conclusion, both TNBS and DSS induce transmural inflammation, albeit with different types of inflammatory mediators. The recruitment or activation of immune cells does not correlate directly with the intensity of generation of inflammatory mediators. The inflammatory mediators in TNBS and DSS inflammations target different genes to impair smooth muscle function.  相似文献

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is characterized by the absence of dystrophin from muscle cells. Dystrophic muscle cells are susceptible to oxidative stress. We tested the hypothesis that 3 wk of endurance exercise starting at age 21 days in young male mdx mice would blunt oxidative stress and improve dystrophic skeletal muscle function, and these effects would be enhanced by the antioxidant green tea extract (GTE). In mice fed normal diet, average daily running distance increased 300% from week 1 to week 3, and total distance over 3 wk was improved by 128% in mice fed GTE. Running, independent of diet, increased serum antioxidant capacity, extensor digitorum longus tetanic stress, and total contractile protein content, heart citrate synthase, and heart and quadriceps beta-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase activities. GTE, independent of running, decreased serum creatine kinase and heart and gastrocnemius lipid peroxidation and increased gastrocnemius citrate synthase activity. These data suggest that both endurance exercise and GTE may be beneficial as therapeutic strategies to improve muscle function in mdx mice.  相似文献

Heart mitochondria from female senescence-accelerated (SAMP8) and senescence-resistant (SAMR1) mice of 5 or 10 months of age, were studied. Mitochondrial oxidative stress was determined by measuring the levels of lipid peroxidation, glutathione and glutathione disulfide and glutathione peroxidase and reductase activities. Mitochondrial function was assessed by measuring the activity of the respiratory chain complexes and ATP content. The results show that the age-dependent mitochondrial oxidative damage in the heart of SAMP8 mice was accompanied by a reduction in the electron transport chain complex activities and in ATP levels. Chronic melatonin administration between 1 and 10 months of age normalized the redox and the bioenergetic status of the mitochondria and increased ATP levels. The results support the presence of significant mitochondrial oxidative stress in SAM mice at 10 months of age, and they suggest a beneficial effect of chronic pharmacological intervention with melatonin, which reduces the deteriorative and functional oxidative changes in cardiac mitochondria with age.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of macrophage polarization in aging heart. Macrophage differentiation is pathogenically linked to many inflammatory and immune disorders. It is often preceded by myocardial inflammation, which is characterized by increased cardiac damage and pro-inflammatory cytokine levels. Therefore, we investigated the hypothesis that senescence accelerated-prone (SAMP8) mice cardiac tissue would develop macrophage polarization compared with senescence-resistant control (SAMR1) mice. Both SAMP8 and SAMR1 mice were sacrificed when they became six month old. We evaluated, histo-pathological changes and modifications in protein expression by Western blotting and immuno-histochemical staining for M1 and M2 macrophage markers, high mobility group protein (HMG)B1 and its cascade proteins, pro-inflammatory factors and inflammatory cytokines in cardiac tissue. We observed significant upregulation of HMGB1, toll-like receptor (TLR)2, TLR4, nuclear factor (NF)κB p65, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)α, cyclooxygenase (COX)2, interferon (IFN)γ, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 and M1 like macrophage specific marker cluster of differentiation (CD)68 expressions in SAMP8 heart. In contrast, M2 macrophage specific marker CD36, and IL-10 expressions were down-regulated in SAMP8 mice. The results from the study demonstrated that, HMGB1-TLR2/TLR4 signaling cascade and induction of phenotypic switching to M1 macrophage polarization in SAMP8 mice heart would be one of the possible reasons behind the cardiac dysfunction and thus it could become an important therapeutic target to improve the age related cardiac dysfunction.  相似文献

SAMP6, a substrain of senescence-accelerated mouse, was developed as an animal model for senile osteoporosis. Previously we observed age-related changes of the bone in SAMP6. In the present study, we investigated the morphology of the skeletal muscle, tendon and periosteum in SAMP6 and age-matched normal mouse SAMR1. We did not find any significant differences between SAMR1 and SAMP6 at 1 and 2 months of age. As compared with SAMR1, the cross-sectional area of type I and type II muscle fibers of the soleus muscle were significantly low in SAMP6 at 8 months of age. The projections in the interface of the muscle-tendon junctions were significantly decreased in SAMP6 at 8 months of age. The number of fibroblasts and the diameter of the tendon collagen fibers in Achilles fiber were significantly reduced in SAMP6 at 8 months of age. The diameter of Sharpey's fiber reduced in SAMP6 at 5 and 8 months of age. Some chondrocytes in the insertions of Achilles tendon and some osteogenic cells in the periosteum showed degenerative changes in SAMP6 at 5 and 8 months of age. The pronounced degenerative changes were detected in the skeletal muscle, muscle-tendon junction, tendon, tendon-bone interface and periosteum in SAMP6 with age. These findings indicated the atrophy of skeletal muscle, degeneration of tendon and periosteum in SAMP6, which may be involved in the bone loss for senile osteoporosis.  相似文献

[Purpose]

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of unaccustomed downhill running on muscle damage, oxidative stress, and leukocyte apoptosis.

[Methods]

Thirteen moderately trained male subjects performed three 40 min treadmill runs at ~70% VO2max on separate days: a level run (L) followed by two downhill runs (DH1 and DH2). Blood samples were taken at rest (PRE) and immediately (POST), 2 h, 24 h, and 48 h after each run. Data were analyzed using 2-way repeated measures ANOVA with post hoc Tukey tests.

[Results]

Creatine kinase (CK) activity and oxidative stress level were significantly elevated at 24 h and 48 h following DH1 (P < 0.05). The level of oxidative stress at the POST measurement following DH1 and DH2 was greater than PRE. The rate of leukocyte apoptosis was significantly increased at the POST measurement following all three runs, and remained elevated for up to 48 h following DH1 (P < 0.01).

[Conclusion]

CK activity and oxidative stress were elevated following an acute bout of moderate intensity downhill running, resulting in a greater apoptotic response at 24 h and 48 h post-exercise in comparison with level grade running or a second downhill run. These elevations were blunted following DH2. Although the link between exercise-induced muscle damage and leukocyte apoptosis is currently unknown, the differential response to DH1 vs. L and DH2 indicates that it may be mediated by the elevation of oxidative stress.  相似文献

Nitric oxide and cytokines constitute the molecular markers and the intercellular messengers of inflammation and septic shock. Septic shock occurs with an exacerbated inflammatory response that damages tissue mitochondria. Skeletal muscle appears as one of the main target organs in septic shock, showing an increased nitric oxide (NO) production, an early oxidative stress, and contractile failure. Mitochondria isolated from rat and human skeletal muscle in septic shock show a markedly increased NO generation and a decreased state 3 respiration, more marked with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-linked substrates than with succinate, without uncoupling or impairment of phosphorylation. One of the current hypothesis for the molecular mechanisms of septic shock is that the enhanced NO production by mitochondrial nitric oxide synthase (mtNOS) leads to excessive peroxynitrite (ONOO(-)) production and protein nitration in the mitochondrial matrix, to mitochondrial dysfunction and to contractile failure. Surface chemiluminescence is a useful assay to assess inflammation and oxidative stress in in situ liver and skeletal muscle. Liver chemiluminescence in inflammatory processes and phagocyte chemiluminescence have been found spectrally different from spontaneous liver chemiluminescence with increased 440-600 nm emission, likely due to NO and ONOO(-) participation in the reactions leading to the formation of excited species.  相似文献

Brain cytokines, induced by various inflammatory challenges, have been linked to sickness behaviors, including fatigue. However, the relationship between brain cytokines and fatigue after exercise is not well understood. Delayed recovery of running performance after muscle-damaging downhill running is associated with increased brain IL-1beta concentration compared with uphill running. However, there has been no systematic evaluation of the direct effect of brain IL-1beta on running performance after exercise-induced muscle damage. This study examined the specific role of brain IL-1beta on running performance (either treadmill or wheel running) after uphill and downhill running by manipulating brain IL-1beta activity via intracerebroventricular injection of either IL-1 receptor antagonist (ra; downhill runners) or IL-1beta (uphill runners). Male C57BL/6 mice were assigned to the following groups: uphill-saline, uphill-IL-1beta, downhill-saline, or downhill-IL-1ra. Mice initially ran on a motor-driven treadmill at 22 m/min and -14% or +14% grade for 150 min. After the run, at 8 h (wheel cage) or 22 h (treadmill), uphill mice received intracerebroventricular injections of IL-1beta (900 pg in 2 microl saline) or saline (2 microl), whereas downhill runners received IL-1ra (1.8 microg in 2 microl saline) or saline (2 microl). Later (2 h), running performance was measured (wheel running activity and treadmill run to fatigue). Injection of IL-1beta significantly decreased wheel running activity in uphill runners (P<0.01), whereas IL-1ra improved wheel running in downhill runners (P<0.05). Similarly, IL-1beta decreased and Il-1ra increased run time to fatigue in the uphill and downhill runners, respectively (P<0.01). These results support the hypothesis that increased brain IL-1beta plays an important role in fatigue after muscle-damaging exercise.  相似文献
