The typification of the Linnaean names Anthemis italica and A. tinctoria var. triumfettii is discussed. Specimens from LINN (no. 1016.4) and SBT (no. 72) are designated as lectotypes. The name A. italica is proposed as a synonym of A. maritima, while A. tinctoria var. triumfettii is currently accepted under the genus Cota, as C. triumfettii.  相似文献

During ongoing taxonomic studies in Citharexylum (Verbenaceae), sixteen names were found in need of typification or typification remarks. As a result, six names (C. brachyanthum, C. danirae, C. flabellifolium, C. lucidum, C. rugendasii and C. tristachyum f. urbanii) are here lectotypified. Furthermore, remarks on implicit typifications by Harold Moldenke for another ten names (C. altamiranum, C. berlandieri, C. hexangulare, C. macradenium, C. ovatifolium, C. pauciflorum, C. pterocladum, C. recurvatum, C. schulzii and C. stenophyllum) are provided.  相似文献

Allozyme variation was examined in three diploid taxaChionographis japonica var.japonica, var.kurokamiana, andC. koidzumiana and three tetraploid taxaC. japonica var.kurohimensis, ssp.hisauchiana, and ssp.minoensis. Results show thatC. japonica var.kurokamiana is genetically closer toC. koidzumiana than to var.japonica. In the tetraploid taxa, fixed heterozygosities were found at several loci, and this supports the hypothesis that these taxa are allotetraploids. Furthermore, the tetraploid taxa have many unique alleles not found in the diploid taxa. This suggests that sufficient time has passed since the origin of tetraploids for new mutations to have been fixed.  相似文献

The typification of three Linnaean names in the genus Centaurea and one in Serratula (Asteraceae): C. lippii (syn. Volutaria lippii), C. muricata (Volutaria muricata), C. repens (Rhaponticum repens) and S. babylonica (Centaurea babylonica), is discussed. Designations of nomenclatural types based on the consultation of Linnaeus's original material and the literature cited in the respective protologues are proposed. Three names are lectotypified using specimens from both Linnaeus herbarium at LINN and the illustrations from Isnard and Dodoëns. Furthermore, a neotype is designated for Serratula babylonica from a specimen at LINN.  相似文献

Typifications and nomenclatural notes on seven names (two at the rank of species and five varietal ones) of willows published by I. F. Tausch in 1837 are provided. The name Salix arenaria var. latifolia is deemed illegitimate. Four names (Salix arenaria var. atropurpurea , S. arenaria var. nivea , S. arenaria var. marrubiifolia and S. argyroides ) are considered synonymous to S. lapponum var. lapponum and one (S. arenaria var. denudata ) to its hybrid with Salix silesiaca . In contrast, Salix daphneola applies to a unique glabrous variety of S. lapponum (var. daphneola ) endemic to the Krkono?e Mountains, Czech Republic.  相似文献

Chattonella marina var. antiqua and C. marina var. marina (Raphidophyceae) are red tide‐forming, harmful phytoplankton species. We investigated the genetic diversity and genetic relationship among the populations using microsatellite markers to identify putative sources of C. marina var. antiqua and C. marina var. marina in Japanese coastal populations. A positive correlation between genetic divergence and geographical distance (isolation by distance) was recognized for C. marina var. antiqua. The C. marina var. antiqua populations were established throughout a geological time scale, and genetic divergence had progressed in each population with gene flow depending on geographic distances. In contrast, isolation by distance was not observed for C. marina var. marina populations, and the genetic divergence among populations was extremely high. The Tokyo Bay population of C. marina var. marina, which was first recognized in 2008, had many private alleles but was related to the Kagoshima Bay population. The Tokyo Bay population may have been established by several invasions from the Kagoshima Bay population and other regions.  相似文献

Cryptococcus neoformans, the etiological agent of cryptococcosis, has been associated with avian droppings and certain trees in different countries, including Colombia. C neoformans environmental isolates were obtained in urban areas in Bogotá, Colombia, and the strains recovered were phenotypically characterized. Attempts to determine the ecological conditions (micro- and macroclimatic) possibly related to their habitat were also undertaken. Four hundred and eighty samples from bark, soil around trunk bases, and detritus inside hollows of 32 trees were collected in three urban areas during a 5-month period, as well as 89 avian droppings samples from different places. Of plant samples, 6.7% collected from nine tree species yielded C. neoformans var. gattii, serotype B strains in 99% of the cases, and C. neoformans var. grubii, serotype A in 1%. The yeast was more frequently recovered from bark than from soil or detritus inside hollows, and from trees with hollows or rotted wood rather than from trees in which birds nest. C. neoformans was present with higher frequency and density in the rainy season than in the dry season; we found that slightly higher temperature and humidity values of the microhabitat, as compared to those of the environment, favored fungal occurrence, but the phenological state of the tree did not. Of dropping samples, 7.9% yielded C. neoformans strains, all of them C. neoformans var. grubii, serotype A. The yeast was obtained more frequently from dry droppings than from moist ones, but neither the sunlight exposure nor the site of collection of samples was correlated with this occurrence. Population density was significantly higher in droppings than in tree samples. Under laboratory conditions, isolates of different serotype showed similar capsular sizes. Water content and pH ranges were wide and did not show any significant difference between positive and negative samples.  相似文献

A micro‐morphological analysis of leaf epidermis (adaxial and abaxial sides) of fifteen taxa of Carex section Phacocystis was carried out using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Three taxa were epistomatic (C. nigra var. nigra, C.nigra var. juncea and C. subspathacea), seven taxa were hypostomatic (C. acuta, C. bigelowii ssp. bigelowii, C. bigelowii ssp. rigida, C. cespitosa, C. elata, C. lyngbyei and C. paleacea) and five amphistomatic (C. aquatilis, Chalophila, C. rufina, C. stans and C. trinervis). Epidermal modifications such as prickles were present in many species. The micro‐morphological leaf characters of the investigated species were found to be important for distinguishing individual taxa but not for subsectional classification.  相似文献

In the spirit of recent calls for species delimitation studies to become more pluralistic, incorporating multiple sources of evidence, we adopted an integrative, phylogeographic approach to delimiting species and evolutionarily significant units (ESUs) in the Corallorhiza striata species complex. This rare, North American, mycoheterotrophic orchid has been a taxonomic challenge regarding species boundaries, displaying complex patterns of variation and reduced vegetative morphology. We employed plastid DNA, nuclear DNA and morphometrics, treating the C. striata complex as a case study for integrative species delimitation. We found evidence for the differentiation of the endangered Cbentleyi (eastern USA) + Cstriata var. involuta (Mexico) from the remaining Cstriata (= Cstriata s.s.; USA, Canada, Mexico). Corallorhiza striata involuta and C. bentleyi, disjunct by thousands of kilometres (Mexico‐Appalachia), were genetically identical but morphologically distinct. Evidence suggests the Cstriata complex represents three species: Cbentleyi, Cinvoluta and a widespread Cstriata s.s under operational criteria of diagnosability and common allele pools. In contrast, Bayesian coalescent estimation delimited four species, but more informative loci and a resultant species tree will be needed to place higher confidence in future analyses. Three distinct groupings were identified within Cstriata s.s., corresponding to Cstriata striata, Cstriata vreelandii, and Californian accessions, but these were not delimited as species because of occupying a common allele pool. Each comprises an ESU, warranting conservation considerations. This study represents perhaps the most geographically comprehensive example of integrative species delimitation for any orchid and any mycoheterotroph.  相似文献

Summary The genus Capparis is represented in Israel by three taxons of the section spinosa. The pollinators of the three taxa are hawkmoths, crepuscular bees of the genus Proxylocopa and various daily bees. However, the efficiency of the different pollinators is very varied with respect to the individual taxons. Hawkmoths were frequently observed as pollinators of C. spinosa var. aravensis and C. ovata, but rarely on C. spinosa var. aegyptia. All the other bees, on the other hand, were found abundantly on all three taxons, all over the country. The three taxa all provide different rewards for their particular pollinators. Bees visiting C. spinosa var. aegyptia are provided with a lot of pollen but a relatively small amount of nectar, with a low sugar content. C. spinosa var. aravensis and C. ovata (the flowers visited more by hawkmoths), have less pollen but a higher amount of nectar which has a higher concentration of sugar. In drier habitats the emphasis of the reward provided by the flowers is nectar, whilst in the Mediterranean habitats it is the pollen which is the reward, without any connection to the systematic origin of the plant.  相似文献

The aim of our study was to verify, on the basis of statistical analyses of nine quantitative morphological features of pollen grains, the hypothesis that pollen grains of three parental species of Crataegus (C. laevigata, C. monogyna, C. rhipidophylla) differed from the pollen of three spontaneous hybrids of these species (C. × macrocarpa, C. × media, C. × subsphaericea). Contrast analysis revealed that a majority of the pollen features of hybrid species were characterized by significantly higher mean values than those of parental species. Analysis of pollen shape classes indicated that the parental species clearly differed from each other in contrast with hybrids, which were characterized by a similar proportion of pollen in individual pollen shape classes. Statistical analyses showed that the pollen grains of two parental species, C. laevigata and C. monogyna, were most similar to one another. Pollen grains of typical C. rhipidophylla were similar to the pollen of hybrids and the mean values of almost all studied pollen features [P, E, Exp, Exp/P, Le, d, d/E (PAI)] of C. rhipidophylla var. rhipidophylla were intermediate between those of C. monogyna and C. rhipidophylla var. lindmanii. This corroborates Zieliński's conjecture that C. rhipidophylla is probably an old, conserved hybrid between C. monogyna and C. calycina (= C. lindmanii = C. rhipidophylla var. lindmanii). According to the analysis of canonical variables, C. × macrocarpa and C. × media pollen grains were most similar. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis was used to assess the level of genetic diversity in an endangered plant Cerastiumfischerianum var. molle and the widespread conspecific C. fischerianum var. fischerianum. At both the variety and the population level, C. fischerianum var. molle had a lower level of RAPD variation than var. fischerianum. Analysis of molecular variance ( AMOVA ) showed that most of the genetic diversity exists among populations for both varieties. Genetic differentiation among populations probably resulted from the highly selfing habits of both varieties. To conserve C. fischerianum var. molle genetically, preservation of only a part of the population is insufficient.  相似文献

During recent studies in the Santolina rosmarinifolia L. aggregate, nomenclatural problems with the the names S. impressa and S. semidentata published by Hoffmannsegg and Link were revealed. Here, both names are neotypified and S. rosmarinifolia var. cinerea Pau & Merino and S. zamorana Losa are lectotypified. The criteria used to recognise S. impressa and S. semidentata and their diagnostic characters are discussed. Revision of the lectotypes of S. rosmarinifolia var. cinerea Pau & Merino and of S. zamorana Losa suggests that both names are synonyms of S. semidentata. The full synonymy of S. impressa and S. semidentata is provided.  相似文献

Eight chloroplast markers were developed from Japanese and snow camellia (Camellia japonica and C. rusticana). Six markers were based on mononucleotide repeats, while the other two resulted from indels of larger units. Polymorphisms were screened using 15 individuals from all over the Japanese archipelago, including C. japonica, C. japonica var. macrocarpa, C. japonica var. hozanensis, and C. rusticana. Polymorphisms within a single population were searched in 22 and 26 individuals of C. japonica and C. rusticana, respectively. The number of alleles per locus ranged from two to three, resulting in eight haplotypes, two of which were specific to C. rusticana. No polymorphisms were detected within a single population for both C. japonica and C. rusticana. The eight markers developed in the present study will be useful for analyzing the genetic diversity and tracing maternal origins of Japanese and snow camellias.  相似文献

Desmids from 12 freshwater resources in the northern part of Thailand were investigated during 2002 to 2003. A total of 91 taxa were found. They belonged to 17 genera: Actinotaenium, Spirotaenia, Netrium, Gonatozygon, Pleurotaenium, Closterium, Euastrum, Micrasterias, Cosmarium, Cosmocladium, Stuarastrum, Staurodesmus, Xanthidium, Teilingia, Spondylosium, Hyalotheca and Desmidium. The water qualities in all the water resources were classified as oligotrophic to meso-eutrophic by trophic status. The taxa that could possibly be used as bioindicators of trophic state were Staurastrum gutwinskii, Spondylosium pandurifoemae, Cosmarium capitulum, C. mediosrobiculatum var. egranutum, S. tortum, Closterium gracile var. elongatum, C. kuetzingii and Closterium dianae var. dianae. The most frequently found taxa were Staurastrum limneticum var. burmense, S. tetracerum var. tetraerum, Pleurotaenium trabecula, Closterium ehrenbergii var. ehrenbergii and C. kuetzingii. The rare taxa in this study were Actinotaenium sp. Spirotaenia condensata, Pleurotaenium burmense var. dacchense and Micrasterias apiculata. Cortinarius sarcoflammeus is proposed as a new species belonging to subgenus Dermocybe, on the basis of its morphological, chemical and ecological characters. The strong red-orange colour of the context and stipe base, large spores, sphagnicolous habitat and high dermorubin content are characteristic for the new species. Holotypes of C. huronensis and C. huronensis var. olivaceus have been examined for comparison, and their differences discussed. Photographs and line drawings of C. sarcoflammeus are added.
